I hate that people assume all babies are nightmares.
It's only since having a sleeper myself that it's not uncommon. People just prefer to talk about the bad sides of parenthood. Never the positives.
Yay elijah!!

First night in bedside cot. Wish us luck.

JuniDD · 24/01/2015 21:59

Totally agree min. Plenty of babies are sleepers, we just can't say for fear of being smug! Also hate people telling me how bad it's going to be like after jabs. She was totally bloody fine!!

willywallace · 24/01/2015 22:25

I think it's people's way of trying to say they know better than you. Some folk love spreading doom and gloom.

Ooh Ness that's a toughie. Is it her first baby? Weird she hasn't picked up on it from watching other mums. I probably wouldn't say anything because I'm chicken shit but that's probably not the right thing to do. What's her personality like? Is she the kind of person who would take kindly to advice?

Nessalina · 24/01/2015 22:52

I don't know her well enough to tell... She's very laid back! To be honest by 5 weeks it's probably pointless saying anything Confused I might mention it to one of the other NCTers and see if they have any thoughts. I can't believe I'm being PFB about someone else's baby! Grin
It's very true, people love to hear that you're having a shit time! You feel bad saying that actually you're getting plenty of sleep!
Well J went to sleep at 9, and will hopefully stay that way - I'm living dangerously by not being asleep myself...

willywallace · 25/01/2015 01:43

We have been cluster feeding since 9pm. The joys.

JuniDD · 25/01/2015 02:01

Ah wil. Are you ok? It's so intense. Hope you're not sore and have entertainment.

I am trying to feed dd more...so worried about being puked on! Shock

Nessalina · 25/01/2015 03:17

Hope you're in bed by now Wil!
My throat hurts Confused

JuniDD · 25/01/2015 03:36

Me too ness. Just woke dd up with a coughing fit 20 mins after putting her down. She's on her second side so now I'm pissed off as I'll be engorged tomo when she's asleep. grrrr.

Minion · 25/01/2015 03:54

Hey hey wide awake club!
Bedside crib went well until just now, where she puked up the bottle she greedily gobbled.
Crazy girl slept right through it and was promptly back in the land ofnod within a minute!
If course I'm now awake, worrying she will vom again... Gah
Can't win

JuniDD · 25/01/2015 04:25

Shenanigans here! Screaming when put down, puke and now feeding again. Been awake three hours!!

willywallace · 25/01/2015 04:39

Well the good news is she had 2 hours in the actual crib! Amazing. Bad news is that two hours seems to be my sleep limit so not feeling optimistic for next few hours.

Hope all the pukers are ok.

Nessalina · 25/01/2015 06:05

Yay for crib sleepers! Boo for big voms Confused
It's amazing how little being sick all over themselves seems to bother a baby. J's always trying to get back on the boob whilst I'm frantically trying to mop up with a muslin! Grin
Throat still hurts and I'm hot as hell. He's just had a good scoff so hoping he'll give me a bit of a lie in... Pretty please?

JuniDD · 25/01/2015 09:46

Oh dear ness hope you're ok. stay in bed and get mrness to look after J apart from feeds. We did this for an hour this morning and I could develop a taste for it....

Also why are babies so silly? DD refused to feed much the past couple of days and now the hungriest baby ever. Just feed regularly, all the time! (I know it's not that simple but honestly!)

Minion · 25/01/2015 09:59

We have smiles!!
Wooohooooooooooooo

willywallace · 25/01/2015 12:04

How cute Min. Your mission is to capture them on camera for us Wink .

I don't know Juni. It's the same thing as going three hours in the day without feeding but then feeding for 5 straight hours at night. Someone needs to have a word with them.

Minion · 25/01/2015 12:13

Mission completed wil
I'll upload in fb

Minion · 26/01/2015 04:09

I've no idea what's going on with this child.
Last night she decided she didn't want to go to sleep, again. So stayed wide awake for hours. Wouldn't rest etc. Slept for only a few hrs and is now again, wide awake.
I've come downstairs in hope she will just drop off.
It's not looking likely.
I'm so very tired.

willywallace · 26/01/2015 07:20

Me too Min, she is up all frigging night. What the hell will I do when MrWil goes back to work and I have to get up with the toddler?

Minion · 26/01/2015 08:04

I believe this is what they call a 'wonder week' for her.
For me, it's a 'wonder I don't sell her week'.
Little bugger slept on me, wouldn't stop moaning if I put her down, then had a bottle and started smiling at me!
Then had the audacity to sit there yawning.

I'm going to meet my mates who have kids, can't imagine I'll be much company but I need adult conversation. Just virtually broke down in bed, but don't want R to see me crying.

JuniDD · 26/01/2015 08:12

Morning. we are both lying in bed exhausted with a lively 14 week old between us...Confused insomnia and a baby is not a good combo.

Brew Brew to us all. Keep going. xx

willywallace · 26/01/2015 09:37

Hope there's cocaine vodka in those coffees Juni.

Min I totally feel your pain. I thought the second one was supposed to be a breeze compared with the first.

ZylaB · 26/01/2015 09:49

waves

DH just freaked me out by pointing out I won't be pg any more at some point in the next 4 weeks, so I'll be joining you soon! gulp

JuniDD · 26/01/2015 10:06

Yay zyla very exciting!!

But look away now.

Cancelled this morning's class. Too stressed as hosting a class here this afternoon and it's horribly dusty and messy. I'm not houseproud but I need to clean! DD also hating the carseat so much atm I can't face it.

min I cried so much the first weeks of S's life that she used to get wet. Shock

FurryScoob · 26/01/2015 11:18

Hello zyla good luck, hope she stays in a bit longer for you.

Flowers minion you really can't put her on eBay but I'm sure somewhere in the world somebody's tried!

Oh these babies must have been talking, I've got one that refuses to sleep too! DD refuses to sleep anywhere but on me, I decided last night not to give in & kept putting her back in the basket but by 4.30 I caved in & brought her into my bed where she slept like a starfish for 3 hours. She's now wide awake & I feel like crap!

BrewBrewBrew it's gonna be a long day.

willywallace · 26/01/2015 14:34

God I only attempted the crib once last night Furry, you're a better woman than me!

Hope you got tidied up Juni. The midwives who visit here must think I'm a tramp the place is so messy.
