Haha! Even better was her impressive effort this morning. It's a shame if just changed Nappy and thought she'd finished.
Imagine my surprise!
Guess the constipation is over today.

RPopz · 22/01/2015 16:04

I feel your pain Wil. He's got til Monday to start looking like an Isaac otherwise he's getting changed!! (DH doesn't know this yet... Hmm ). We've only told fam his name so far and they will prob think I'm stark raving but hey ho!

RPopz · 22/01/2015 16:04

Haha min! unlucky... Sad

willywallace · 22/01/2015 16:11

Totally forgot reason I had come to post. Popz we're also having the thing of the baby not sleeping unless it's attached to us. MW was just here and suggested rolling up a towel and wrapping it round outline of the baby if that makes sense to you? So kind of making a little nest then put blankets on top. We have done it in carrycot this afternoon and has worked a treat. If it works tonight it will be a miracle I'll let you know.

JuniDD · 22/01/2015 19:00

Hello. DD is paying attention to all these tinies. She kept waking up when I put her in her bed last night but sparked out on me when I picked her up. So annoying!

Went to baby cinema today. DD screamed a lot, particularly in the quiet, moving parts (of course Hmm ) but it was good if a bit confusing to her to suddenly be in the dark!

I was hanging out with a lovely little Isaac yesterday popz, how's the tryout going?

RPopz · 22/01/2015 19:26

Eep sorry Juni Grin

I just can't bring myself to call him it at the mo! I need a slap... Will persevere. DH is suddenly in love with the name apparently, despite not being keen previously Hmm

Wil we've tried rolled up cellular blankets around him. And putting a hot water bottle in bed before him. Stuff seems to work intermittently one night but not the next! Same with the swaddle up. He hated it first night, slept for 6 hours solid in it next night and got the rage about it again last night! Confused Hoping he'll sleep tonight as we're having a new born photo shoot done in morning and could do with not looking like shite!!

TheBooMonster · 22/01/2015 19:39

I remember when we were in the hospital with DD at about a week old, we were about(ish) to be discharged (again) so had sent all the clothes home. DH did a bum change but didn't have the nappy ready, he turned to get it and she went again, with no nappy on, sprayed him down from his chest to his knees and he ended up leaving the hospital in scrubs! Poor git spent a good ten minutes stood there horrified in poo prayed clothes before I regained my composure enough to go flag down a member of staff to help us with the clothing issue, and then had the indignity of having to stand there in his boxers whilst the nurse and I giggled like school girls scrubs in hand... poo is a brilliant thing... I'll just be back on the grads thread, totally not spying on you all :P

JuniDD · 22/01/2015 20:58

Ha boo! Classic. I could do with DD doing that to DP sometime. The man moves at quite a glacial pace sometimes. But, on reflection, is pretty swift at nappy change time (when he manages to do one. Grrr).

popz you need to get nonchalont about Isaac or DH will love it all the more. I know that game. But, you carried him and got him out so I reckon you get final veto.

willywallace · 22/01/2015 21:59

Having the exact same issue Popz. I'm just going to refuse to ever call her anything.

Nessalina · 23/01/2015 04:32

It's the middle of the night and I'm sooo hungry Confused J is snotty and having trouble dropping off again post-feed. He just peed impressively all over himself mid-change which he hasn't done in an age, so I wasn't prepared with muslin like I usually am!
To be honest I'm not sure that it matters that we called him James, we pretty much always call him Jelly Bean at the minute Grin
Did you give him a middle name Popz? Maybe you could insist on sneaking in Theodore there and then just keep at it like a dripping tap!
Are you haunting the name boards Wil? What are you referring to get as IRL at the minute, or is she MicroWil there too? Grin

JuniDD · 23/01/2015 08:03

I found DD's name on the baby name boards. Also, St Etienne song.

Man, I so need to learn to sleep when the baby sleeps at night. She went down at like 6.30 last night, up at 10,30 then up again at 3.30. Then 5.30, 6.30 when I got up. I went up at 10,30 so only got to sleep when she went down about 11.45! May have to give up on an evening meal tonight.

willywallace · 23/01/2015 10:34

I want to steal your baby name Juni but MrWil isn't up for it. Sad It would go great with MiniWil's name.

'The Baby' sleeps ALL day and then feeds from 11pm - 4am. I get about 2 hours sleep after and maybe an hour at some other point in the day. Totally running on empty.

JuniDD · 23/01/2015 10:46

Funnily enough, I want your dd's name if we have a dd2 so you need to persuade mrwil of the rightness of it! Just start calling her by the name. Wink.

Can someone take miniwil during the day so you can get your head down?

I am also knackered today to the point of sitting on the sofa staring at the crying baby. She's also hurting me bf atm so just Sad. today. ugh.

willywallace · 23/01/2015 12:18

Haha how funny! Yeah MrWil and my mum are helping out with MiniWil so I am totally taking it easy. Doing some skin to skin to try and get her to feed but it's having no effect whatsoever. She's out for the count. My boobs are killing me. I had forgotten how crap the early days of bf are.

JuniDD · 23/01/2015 12:45

She'll get there. I decided in day 3 that dd had to feed two hourly but it just meant I spent two hours trying to wake her up. Skin to skin is great as you'll pick up those first cues and she'll go on. Believe in the process!

Just chatted to my mum which has cheered me up. Reminded me i barely ate til I was 16 so better get used to this feeding refusal.

RPopz · 23/01/2015 13:08

Need to remember what your DDs are called Juni and Wil... this cryptic talk is killing me!

I dunno why I've suddenly got it in for Isaac. It was my bloody idea! Shock

Skin to skin is magic Wil I feel a bit bad actually that we haven't really done much with DS since the early days. Have you got some lansinoh too? FX your nips will toughen up soon! Bfing is so hard isn't it. Can't help thinking I would've enjoyed this newborn time loads more if we'd been ff ing...

JuniDD · 23/01/2015 13:36

I'll PM you popz.

Tip of the day, if you have an internet telly, or even just on your phone. Search "baby sensory" on youtube and allow the tv to soothe and babysit your child. This is great!!

RPopz · 23/01/2015 13:57

Shock Wil Miniwil's name was totes on our girl name list Smile Lovely.

willywallace · 23/01/2015 19:00

Ooh now that makes me wonder how open my fb page is. Can you see everything or is it because of one of the album names? Funny, we all seem to have similar tastes on here!

It's not so much my nipples as being engorged. Feeding is barely taking them down.

RPopz · 23/01/2015 19:20

I can't see anything on your profile Wil - except your profile pic.

Pumping? DS slept for 7 hours straight the other night, I thought my boobs were gonna explode when I woke up!

willywallace · 24/01/2015 02:11

My pump hasn't arrived yet. Have tried hand expressing but it takes forever.

Minion · 24/01/2015 08:20

Urghhh feel like deaths ugly sister.
Up at 12 for bottle. 2 and a half hours later she sleeps.
Never normally like this.

Nessalina · 24/01/2015 21:07

Hope everyone's Saturday improved! Grin I've been suffering with a cold and so has James, but we both felt a but better this morning so went out to meet a pal for lunch which was lovely!
Got a bit of a dilemma... Been getting on really well with my fellow NCT ladies which is cool Smile One of them has a 5 week old and I'm really worried that she never supports his neck! She'll sit him on her lap with his head just flopped forward, or if he's sleeping on her arm his head will be all the way back rather than supported. I really want to say something but I can't think how I would do... Surely it can't be good for him? I could do an AIBU, but I'm pretty sure they'll say butt out Grin

Minion · 24/01/2015 21:16

Ooh dilemma!! what would create more drama? Id go with that...

Sooo this could be the fabled 5 week growth spurt! Apparently this is a biggie and we will notice loads of new things during it...
She's already noticed her toy on the pram for the first time.
Found her fingers.
Settled herself to sleep in the moses basket and apparently the husband has just seen her smile!
I fucking missed it! After all I do... Gutted ha!
And the stress she had this morning was solved on her second bottle by the bloke, by giving her another bottle!! How was I supposed to know she was still bloody hungry???

Do, it probably was /is a growth spurt.. And I didn't realise.
Oops

Why don't they tell us about this? They bang on about bfing etc but not stuff that makes them cry in your face at 2am.

cookielove · 24/01/2015 21:23

We went to a batism today for my friends twins and then had a lovely roast dinner after and from about 2pm onwards I was ready for bed. Elijah is about to be put in his cot as he is zonked out fx he sleeps well tonight as he has not had a lot of naps probably 2hrs max.

He was so good all day, just taking it all in no tears! And there were lots of tears from other babies. Every one kept saying what a good boy he is apart from my friend who kept saying he'll get worse as he gets older. Pah what does she know Grin
