Quite proud of myself i did the new thread on my phone.Grin

Utopian i hope your feeling ok.

Spotty, hopefully you will all be getting the bugs out of the way before christmas.

Nutella i don't think it sounds mean written down, its probably exactly the same as i am with H.

halestone · 16/12/2014 21:07

Beasty did you suspect asthma or has it come as a complete surprise?

OP posts:
utopian99 · 16/12/2014 21:21

Feeling slightly stabby around the scar but dh is home now and O is in bed, so hopefully all will be well tomorrow.

spotty I hope you have had it, and the rest of the household recover soon! Nutella I still have 1st 6lbs to lose (no idea in kilos). Have just started back logging on myfitnesspal which normally works as a long term way to shame myself into healthy eating! it's been a lot of cake when I write it downGrinBlush

halestone · 16/12/2014 21:34

I've got 3.7 stoneish to lose Grin i've eaten so much chocolate since H was born i'm doing Slimming World for a few weeks and i'm just planning on losing it very slowly hopefully it won't go back on then.

Thanks for the thread hales
spotty [hiding from sick emoticon]
utopian a few weeks after my c section with dd2, dd1 (then 3) fell asleep on my lap and I stood up and carried her to the sofa - I was really shocked by how weedy I was and how much it hurt! I was told you won't damage your stitches or anything but it will hurt and so you should rest as much as possible tom.
nutella doesn't sound cruel at all - there's no point getting him down in a friendly way or he won't know when you mean it.
beasty poor A. Try making it into a game where you take it turns to wear the mask and sing a song - my dds fight over who's turn it is.

Now one for all my friends who worry when their lo isn't doing something another lo is yet...got the train this morning with a friend who is the embodiment of competitive dad. His dd could read amazingly well by age 4 (through his hard work and determination) and was way ahead of the class when she started school. 2 years later, even he admits that the difference now between her and her classmates is imperceptible. Sooner does not necessarily equal better.

MrsNutella · 16/12/2014 23:01

WL My oldest brother is really stupidly competitive and his kids are awful (well IMHO). I'm doing nothing, I'm going to ride the wave of "yeah but my kids are probably delayed doing X because they are also learning two languages fluently " ShockGrin then I'm going to send them to my mum (in France) for a break some fun time with Grandma

MrsNutella · 16/12/2014 23:02

And thank you for making me feel less like a raging mother. Smile

halestone · 17/12/2014 00:21

WL i hate parents like that my mantra is they will all be the same when they start school. And whilst they may excel in some areas they will be behind in others its just a fact of life no one is good at everything.Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 17/12/2014 05:40

No sick yet! My super mum powers have saved me.

Poor a beasty. Hope he feels better soon.

Utopian that sounds painful, hope it's better after a good nights sleep.

I'm the heaviest I've ever weighed. I weigh more than when I left the hospital with ds. I've decided first port of call is to stop snacking. Might not work over Christmas.

Dd was full of beans yesterday but still has to have today off (48hr rule) so I think we're going to make paper chains. Might go to the garden centre but I would no doubt spend money. Need to get them out somehow though. Not impressed with the 5am wake up from ds.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/12/2014 07:30

Also ds is eating us out of house and home. He doesn't stop eating. What can I give him? Hoping you might have some ideas I haven't thought of. I can't afford to keep him Grin so far this morning he's had a bowl of Cheerios, a slice of toast and two cups of milk. He will be after more in a minute. We haven't got any food in the house for some reason. Probably because he's eaten it all! I'm thinking more protein based snacks?

MrsNutella · 17/12/2014 08:38

DS sometimes wakes up really hungry too. This morning he had half a dry weetabix (he started munching on it before I got a chance to put milk on it!) some of his cereal, some toast some of DH's musli and then some more weeetabix - probably about another half.... I don't know what to suggest Spotty. We usually just keep feeding him Grin

halestone · 17/12/2014 10:34

I was going to suggest Weetabix as well, i'm not really sure what to suggest though spotty as we have the opposite problem.

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 17/12/2014 12:20

I give R seeded crackers as a snack, they're easy to transport and the seeds have good vitamins in so I don't feel guilty giving him "biscuits"!

Thank you for the new thread Hales Brew

SpottyTeacakes · 17/12/2014 12:55

Ds would eat ten crackers given the chance though. Honestly he may be in 12-18 month clothes but he doesn't stop eating. Today he's had:

Bowl of Cheerios (he alternates these with weetabix)
Slice of toast
Fruit pouch
Cheese sandwich
Mini sausage roll
Big yoghurt
Babybel
Tree shaped shortbread (big)

He's just gone to bed but will wake up hungry as he hasn't eaten much because we've been out. For dinner tonight it'll be korma with cauliflower, spinach, peas and chicken with rice and a popadom. He loves this so will eat it all.

MrsNutella · 17/12/2014 13:47

Wow. I had forgotten almost how a tiny baby can poo! Ok, DD isn't tiny but you get what I mean. I think the whole weeks worth just arrived. I'm super pleased that her nappy caught it all (yay cloth!) and that we were at home! But I still called DH down from his office to have a look. the joy or parenting Grin

Barbeasty · 17/12/2014 18:13

DH took A to the Dr again today. They said it was a chest infection and he has a week of antibiotics. Except DH can't get him to take them (a first because he even tries to get us to give him DD's medicine). We're waiting for a call back from the Dr to see if they can give us something else. He's never refused medicine (except the inhaler! !)

halestone · 17/12/2014 20:05

oh no Beasty, i hope they find something. If not could you add it to a drink in a cup?

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 17/12/2014 20:07

I know there's one antibiotic they give that tastes rank, not sure which one. Hope he feels better soon.

My best friend has had to take her dd (dd's best friend) to hospital. She's had a bug since Monday and is really dehydrated. Dr was worried but wanted them back in tomorrow to reassess. Friend is worried as her eyes are glazed and rolling. I'm hoping once she has some fluids she'll be ok Sad

Barbeasty · 17/12/2014 20:45

Personally I think all liquid medicine is the work of the devil, but A would disagree!

The Dr said we were facing a losing battle and prescribed a different antibiotic. So we're off amoxicillin and onto clarythromycin. Hopefully he'll prefer it. He sounds awful though, and is really unsettled.

I'm absolutely shattered and can feel a sore throat and cold coming, so I suspect I'll have what both DC have had just in time for Christmas!!

halestone · 17/12/2014 20:53

Beasty honey and Lemon now to try and combat it. I'm glad the Dr prescribed you something else.

Spotty i think i would be taking my Dd back to the Drs if her eyes were rolling. How frightening for everyone involved.

H told me to lie on her lap tonight so i put my head on her lap. After a couple of minutes i went to sit up and she pulled me back by my ponytailGrin

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 17/12/2014 20:58

Hales ds likes me to lie on his lap too Grin I'm all for it, any excuse to lie down!

Yeah they've taken her straight to a&e. Ds' eyes rolled into his head when his temp spiked. It was horrible. One minute he was fine, then he was sick, then he practically passed out!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 17/12/2014 21:21

Poor A Beasty, hope he feels better soon.

And hope you're all over it now Spotty.

Tuesday was DS' birthday. SiL and BiL turned up at 4:30 after DS' parties had been going on since 11 and commented to their almost 4 yo "remember when you used to paddy like that DS? I'm glad you don't anymore!"

ODFOD. If an overtired, hungry, overstimulated baby can't have a paddy on his birthday when can he?

SpottyTeacakes · 17/12/2014 21:23

Pfft just wait WillYou. The tantrums return once they start school Hmm you can say the same thing about them then Grin

MrsNutella · 17/12/2014 21:25

Hales awww that's kind of cute... I was sick on Monday and DSL was vey sweet. He understands what poorly means suddenly Sad and he was saying it today about himself when I picked him up from nursery. He has quite a cold. We unmed and Ahmed about taking him today. We told them how he was and waited all day for their call. When I picked him up they said he had been fine...

Spotty it's frightening, they can become so ill so suddenly. Poor little things. Hope your friend's DD is better soon!

I am still shattered from being ill. I went into town today determined to get on top of the Christmas shopping. I think I'm about there now. So I am heading to bed soon.

WLmum · 17/12/2014 22:35

Card is written, presents are wrapped, balloons are blown - guess we're ready for a birthday!!

spotty T loves homemade lentil and veg soup which is super cheap, tasty and filling.
I'm also off to fat camp - when I started my job 5 months ago I was at a really good weight, eating well and exercising. Now half my work clothes don't fit. I've been so knackered that I've just eaten loads of crap and drunk too much wine. That's part of why I have to get T to sleep through - she gets a birthday day of reprieve then the boobs are out of commission once and for all!!
