nutella have you tried sticker books? I've always fine them quite good at this age as can do it independently. Small puzzles also seem to entertain for a while indoors. Orchard toys have a great selection and actually even have board games that this age group can play- dd loves monster catcher, shopping list and the jelly one.

ddas · 31/03/2015 06:42

Found not fine.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/03/2015 06:45

I've never thought of letting Ds join in with shopping list might give it a go.

MrsNutella · 31/03/2015 09:00

ddas we were recently sent a sticker book. It is perfect, it has lots of diggers and builders and things in. He loves it, but like most other things not for very long Grin. A couple of afternoons he really enjoyed playing with it and doing the stickers. I might get him some more.

I will definitely look up games! My mum bought him a matching game for Christmas. He mostly like to just throw the pieces around though Confused I know this stage isn't forever but oh my goodness it is hard!

DH and I do keep saying to each other "I don't know another kid like DS". We simply do not know anyone with a toddler quite as active, curious and of course lovely as DS.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/03/2015 09:11

Ds would happily sit and watch Ben and holly all day if I let him Blush which I never do oh no not me

He loves to help cook/bake etc rice crispy cakes are great because they're so easy and he really can help. I'm not so good at letting him help cooking because I love to cook and he makes it much more difficult! He also loves to stand on a chair and 'wash up'. If all else fails I give them a bath Smile

MrsNutella · 31/03/2015 09:13

And I really do appreciate all the suggestions!
I hate not being able to entertain DS. I know he's a very active boy but I feel like I'm not doing a good enough job for him.

I will be trying out suggestions (when required Wink ) and I will be looking up more ideas. I think active moving things would be good for him. If it was just him and I it would be easier to say yeah, we'll go out in the rain. But it doesn't feel fair dragging DD out into awful weather plus you then have the palaver of getting her ready and then her complaining in the buggy

DeladionInch · 31/03/2015 12:42

Cream 1oz sugar with 2oz butter. Knead in 3oz flour. Edible playdough, or cut out shapes and bake for 5 minutes at 180.

Substitute 1tbsp flour for 1tbsp mixed spice for gingerbread, or 1tbsp cocoa for chocolate.

WLmum · 31/03/2015 14:53

Really good news, tests show that mum is responding well to drug treatment and cancer activity has slowed considerably.

DH and I can enjoy our night away now! Woo-hoo!

SpottyTeacakes · 31/03/2015 15:00

Great news WL! When/where are you going?

We're all in my bed watching the little mermaid Smile

halestone · 31/03/2015 16:10

Brilliant news WL Wine Wine Wine Wine I hope you and DH have a wonderful time.

Spotty that sounds lovely. I can't wait for H to be able to concentrate long enough to watch a film.

The plus side to this wind is the clothes are pegged out on the line FX for no rain.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/03/2015 16:15

Ds has mainly been:

Jumping on the bed
Licking his finger and drawing on the window
Playing with my hair rollers

DeladionInch · 31/03/2015 17:18

WLmum · 31/03/2015 18:57

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 01/04/2015 13:15

Just having a moment in softplay, when this happened!

Hope everyone's having a good day.

MrsNutella · 01/04/2015 13:31

Honestly this is the first chance I have had to check my phone today. And don't forget we're an hour ahead! Grin

Well, DS slept but was awake early. Which was great hopefully that's obvious sarcasm because DD fed at about 5:30 ish so I hadn't really gone back to sleep because DH had alarm set at 5:20, but was able to stay in bed a bit longer because the trains were buggered, but I couldn't sleep. Then DS woke around 6 and refused to go back in his bed. DH was trying to be quiet but DS wasn't so he woke DD. Confused

We went to the dr. He has a slight ear infection. We're seeing how we go today (we have a herbal remedy thing which seems to work... But if not we're back tomorrow for Anti-Biotics).

So this morning was busy but ok, DD slept for a bit and DS was being mostly sweet. Then we had to get ready for the Dr's.
After the Dr's as a bit of a treat I took the DCs shopping and got DS a raisin roll. So he was happy - he asks every day to go shopping.
But they both fell asleep in the car on the way home. Then at home only one at a time would sleep! I put DS to bed, he was asleep. I put DD in bed. She was asleep.

DD woke up fed her back to sleep. Then DS woke up. "Time to get up mummy". Yes a 15 minute nap is probably all you need Confused
Got DS up gave him some lunch, let him run around a bit and then took him back to bed. We farted around for a bit longer and finally I shut the door on him to ignore him so that he goes to sleep.

DD was awake ConfusedConfusedConfused arrrggghhhh I think today is going to be a very very long day!

MrsNutella · 01/04/2015 13:32

Frazzled, I love your thread it's hilarious!

halestone · 01/04/2015 13:50

FrazzledGrin sounds abit awkward.

Nutella, FX they both eventually nap together and that the rest of your day is easier.
