WL I have a freezer full of homemade soup the dc love it! Happy birthday to T it's dh's birthday today too. I'm in bed but made him get up with the dc because I did it yesterday even earlier Grin

ddas · 18/12/2014 06:41

Happy birthday t & belated to j! Dd also had a few birthday meltdowns-mainly about toy sharing!
Loving the thead name hales.
I'm trying to be positive this morning and hoping today is a better day. Yesterday started new workplace- so ridiculously busy make worse by me getting to grips where everything was, their systems etc. didn't get a chance to have any lunch and stupidly had run out of house without any breakfast so by end of day was on a serious sugar low. Stopped off at a service station and bought a bug chocolate bar and packet of crisps- not going to do much for losing the baby weight!! About to have breakfast now and hope that today goes better.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/12/2014 06:51

Oh ddas it's always hard starting a new job! Are you still in emergency medicine?

Barbeasty · 18/12/2014 10:14

Good luck for day 2 ddas. And happy birthday T (and Mr Spotty).

I'm so tired. Just hanging on until I finish tomorrow!

halestone · 18/12/2014 11:18

spotty I should have known - food in your house always sounds amazing!
I took T to a new play centre this morning as a bday treat and now I'm letting her have an extra long nap so hopefully she'll be on good form for the family tea party later.

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 18/12/2014 12:15

Happy birthday J and T and MrSpotty Cake

SpottyTeacakes · 18/12/2014 12:17

Don't say that WL I'm having a hula hoop sandwich for lunch Blush Enjoy nap time and put your feet up!

Ds is asleep and I've just finished the last of the wrapping. Phew!

MrsNutella · 18/12/2014 12:27

Crisp sandwiches.... Ahhh the memories spotty.... Grin Enjoy!!

WLmum · 18/12/2014 21:12

See spotty - amazing - yum!
Dm just phoned to tell me that the X-ray she had earlier this week has shown 'something' and she has an urgent hospital apt tom am. Doesn't sound good does it.

halestone · 18/12/2014 23:00

oh no WL no it doesn't sound too good but the fact that its a drs appointment and not a consultant appointment may mean its not as bad news as your thinking. Thanks for your mum and you also plenty of Wine

ddas · 18/12/2014 23:58

Sorry to hear that wlmum will be thinking of you and keeping everything crossed.

spotty god I'm not mad enough to do A&e but don't want to out myself either lol.

Second day not much better as bad start due unavoidable non clinical things but feeling positive for tomorrow! It's a bit like the 'this too shall pass' but in relation to getting used to a new work place :)

WLmum · 19/12/2014 06:26

ddas starting a new job is always rubbish - hang on in there, as you say, the difficult bit will pass and hopefully you'll be enjoying it soon.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/12/2014 06:31

Sorry to hear that WL hope everything's ok.

Work today. Fat Fridays. One of the dermatology nurses is an amazing baker and makes the best cakes mmmm. Then dd finishes school at two for Christmas (anyone else's school do this?) so it's going to be tight trying to get there on time.

WLmum · 19/12/2014 06:50

Yeah mine finish an hour early today. I'm unexpectedly working today but luckily mil has stepped in.

Barbeasty · 19/12/2014 07:02

DD finishes at 1.15!! So I'm leaving work at 11.30 to get the train back and working from home this afternoon. Then it's A's nursery christmas party and last ever day at his nursery.

Then I don't go to work until the 5th Jan.

Fx for your mum WL and for a good 3rd day ddas. I'm feeling settled at work now, 6 months in!

halestone · 19/12/2014 15:23

Hope everyone who is having their last days enjoy their Christmas break.

WL thinking of you and your mum today, i totally read it wrong last night and thought todays appointment was with the GP.Thanks

My power keeps going off Angry ffs. Was off for two hours earlier.

Thinking off getting fish and chips for dinner, would be awful to start dinner only for the power to go half way through wouldn't it?!

utopian99 · 19/12/2014 17:20

Absolutely spotty. I might do that too.
Dh is on his work Christmas do and swears he'll be home by 8, but I doubt it, and don't want to be a killjoy and insist either - so might be my first time putting O to bed while juggling A. Eek.

Also, O has had 4 poos today, getting progressively runnier. He seems mostly okay if a bit clingy - any ideas what it is though?

Happy belated birthday to those I missed yesterday and probably over the last few days too.
wl hope everything goes okay for your mum. Will cross everything.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/12/2014 17:25

Probably some kind of stomach virus.

Chip van hasn't shown up Hmm power still on and off. Super quick oven food for tea Blush

WLmum · 19/12/2014 17:59

Very difficult day. Dm has had a battery of tests but we won't know anything for certain til early jan when consultant has reviewed everything. The fact that they x rayed every single bone in her body makes me think they suspect the worst.

Barbeasty · 19/12/2014 18:40

WL Wine and Fx it's not as bad as you fear. Not what you want over Christmas.

Spotty fish & chips or quick oven food both perfectly acceptable in the circumstances. Don't want to poison the DC with half cooked food we've been known to go to the pub to eat in the same situation

Good luck with bedtime Utopian. Hope it's as easy as mine just was.

DD is having a sleepover at MIL's (when her cousins arrive) so it's just a here. I asked did he want to go to bed? He said yes and toddled off! Left me feeling slightly unsettled to be honest!!

Had the nursery christmas party, and A's last day.

halestone · 19/12/2014 23:47

WLThanks i hope your mum is ok and that the news isn't as bad as you fear.

Beasty did A stay in bed?

Spotty i hope your tea was lovely.

Utopian did bedtime run smoothly?

OP posts:
utopian99 · 20/12/2014 02:44

Will keep everything crossed for your mum wl.

We survived bedtime! O wasn't actually half as difficult as I'd feared, although I won't rely on this next time. Then had lovely squishy snuggles with A till dh came home and we had a relatively unfilthy kebab from the local rather good turkish restaurant.

I need to pick your brains about bedtime and night time with two sharing beasty. Ours will be from may-ish and it's not a massive room either. What did you do about A waking dd up? Who else has two sharing?
