r hasn't really hit the tantrums yet. he's still pretty chilled out and either does as he's asked or there's a simple reason why not

utopian99 · 23/12/2014 02:10

O is seriously dangerous when he wants to NOT be carried (flailing limbs etc.) Thankfully he's always, like R, quite liked the view so tends to be okay so long as he's had a chance for a bit of a potter first, and thinks the way of getting up there (we do the superman lift,) is A Great Laugh.
My problem at the moment though is due to the section I haven't been able to carry him, only A, so of course even when dh is there too he only wants to be carried by me, and I worry he won't understand why I have to turn him down.
Roll on the 6-week sign off , but we went into Islington for Christmas shopping yesterday, and the scar was still pretty achey this evening, only from walking and wearing A for 4 hours. Barstarding section. Angry

halestone · 23/12/2014 10:27

Ddas i'm glad you've written that H is also stronger than me. She is tall and stocky though. Her clothes are mostly size 3-4 years.

She stayed dry the majority of the night last night. And woke up and went straight on the toilet this morning Grin

R's only just coming out of the 12-18 and only because they're geek-length ankle swingers! He's due a major growth spurt so I have a feeling I'll be gettiing the sewing machine out soon just so he's got clothes to fit. Inside leg is age 2-3, waist is 9-12 Xmas Shock

halestone · 23/12/2014 13:09

Its amazing Pidj how all our DC have such differences in size already. I always thought the differences were only noticeable when children were much older. I feel like now i have H i learn something new everyday.

I think his fat squishy cloth bum was hiding how lean he is tbh, he was in age-appropriate clothing until potty training. I'm getting REALLY BORED of these trousers now! Maybe we should have a giant clothes swap on facebook after Christmas and match up some outgrown stuff with babies the right size for it? I've got several pairs of trousers that R won't grow into for another year if ever - I've got 12-18 trousers that are both too short in the leg and too wide round the waist, but there'll be a baby out there somewhere that they'll suit perfectly Xmas Smile

halestone · 23/12/2014 13:58

ooo thats a good idea Pidj i have some lovely dresses that H has only worn once or twice which don't fit her anymore.

12-18 month trousers are a bit too long for A, but he needs the length from waistband to crotch. I'm very tempted to put him in the same shirt and Christmas jumper he wore last christmas day (jumper is 6-12 months and fits perfectly this year!)

I'm in the opening stages of whatever hideous flu - like illness DH and DD have. Perfect timing.

MrsNutella · 23/12/2014 15:18

The different sizes are interesting although the sizing in some shops are rubbish both DS & DD are longer than they stocky so any clothes that come up wide look terrible on them.
DD is HUGE, she is in 6-9 month stuff and DS is quite average. But I notice his tummy gets bigger then he grows and slims down again.

halestone · 23/12/2014 15:22

Oh no Beasty, Thanks i hope it doesn't develop properly and your not ill on Christmas day.

I would probably put A in the same clothes too how cute would those pictures be.

Nutella H just always seems to be growing shes huge. I've noticed that the shops sizing seems to be different in most shops.

Ds is in 12-18 months. His pyjamas are 9-12 month. Dd is just in 3-4. I always have to ensure ds' trousers have adjustable waists. His pjs from tesco 12-18 fall straight down over his bum.

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 23/12/2014 16:15

ironically r is 50th centile for both weight and height Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 23/12/2014 16:16

I think my two are on 4th or something.

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 23/12/2014 17:36

i wonder if the designers have ever met an actual child tbh

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 23/12/2014 22:51

Did a massive post, lost it!

I have an average 25th centile bambino, in 18-24 month clothes.

I've got a massive eye infection, ended up being sent to ooh last night scared I'd lose my eye Shock

Much love to everyone, wspecially you WL

started on the christmas baileys

ddas · 23/12/2014 23:20

Oh no hope the antibiotics kick in fandango

Dd down at the bottom of the charts but clothes are so brand dependent has clothes ranging from 9-12 to 2-3 all of which fit!

utopian sometimes you forget that you've had a section (i also had vaginal ds, section dd) and then suddenly get reminded! Take it easy.

ddas · 23/12/2014 23:21

wlmum thinking of you and your mum.

halestone · 23/12/2014 23:37

I havn't had H weighed recently but last time i did she was above the 99th centile line for both Height and Weight.

Willyou sounds horrible, i hope your eye is better soonThanks

My dds are all big beasties. Dd1 is in age 10 and she's 7 but she's skinny so leggings are often baggy! Dd2 is more solid (even though eats way less than dd1 - teenage 'it's not fair' predictions? And T is long and the slimmest of all 3 at that age.

Dm is having a hip replacement tomorrow, as one hip is 2nd worst affected (first is neck), but it's also in her arm/shoulder, spine, other hip and legs. It looks like its secondaries from breast cancers she had 9 and 17 years ago. It's a case of managing rather than curing, best case scenario is 5 years which is better than I feared but still not enough. I have never known my father and dm and I have always been unbelievably close. I'm heartbroken.

WLmum · 24/12/2014 00:08

Thank you for your good wishes.
willyou take care of your mincers.

utopian99 · 24/12/2014 04:30

Just checking in on wl mostly. I'll be crossing everything for the operation tomorrow going smoothly, and for the future treatment/management being as successful as possible. My parents friend had an awful cancer diagnosis which sounded very similar last Christmas, and although I know each case is different, bizarrely and wonderfully they discovered I summer that the cancer had entirely stopped in its tracks. So although I'm not medical in any way I'll hope for the same for your dm. I am hugely close to mine and would be distraught. I hope your DH and DSs are giving you as much love as possible.

WLmum · 24/12/2014 07:15

Thanks utopian that's exactly the miracle I'm hoping for! DH is being v good, dds know that dgm is in hospital have an operation because she's had a bad back but don't know that she's ill. They thought the toilet frame the hospital gave me (for a day they thought she might be allowed home for Xmas day) was great fun!

In other news, the boob amnesty is going well thanks to wearing a sports bra day and night and T slept 8 til 6.30 last night!!

SpottyTeacakes · 24/12/2014 07:19

Great sleep WL! Your poor mum and of course whole family. I hope you can all enjoy Christmas.
