Ladies, babies, and bumps, welcome to the new thread!

Should we start this off with an update from us all like last time? I thought that was nice, especially for those who get little chance to catch up.

Hey all!
before I forget completely Happy Birthday Libby for tomorrow.

Had sad news last night - my other Grandad (who has lived in Canada for the last 15 or so years) passed away yesterday. It was expected(ish) but still a touch sad...It is a long and complicated story (as they always are!) but he was not really a family man, and I have always felt a little saddened by that - however he was still my Gradfather, with some very peculiar ways, and I did love him, but hey, he lived to a ripe old age (89 this week!) so it is hard to be too sad.

Absolute milestones over the last couple of weeks from little T!!! Last week he took a couple of steps, without holding on to me or anything else!!!!!!! Very proud Mummy!!! My Mum also witnessed it too - so it was a very special time! DH was a touch but then T did it a couple of days later and DH witnessed it!!! We have now purchased an "early" birthday pressie for him - the ELC Wobble Toddle ride thing - he loves it! and he pushes it all over the place, crahsing into everything!!!!
Teeth still poking through - bottom still sore, although a bit better...
Still no joy on my new changing bag - they are still out of stock of the blue camou one but are having a sale on other colours - what is a girl to do? Should I wait it out and pay the full price (plus the postage, cos the site is changing soon), or should I get a different colour with free postage and 10% off???? (and before you say it Diege - I can;t afford 2!!!!!! )
Right, off to trawl internet looking for fabulous party frocks!!
Hope all are well - any light at the end of the Enigma keyboard tunnel Rodeo???????

HAve a fab day everyone, hope to catch up soon,

Brownie,

xx

Brownie, so sorry to hear of your loss. You sound like you're dealing with things really well, (((strength to you))).

ChaCha, well done on doing all that clearing, phew, feel tired just hearing about it. Must be really satisfying to watch Zayn enjoying all that space now.

GG, am v.impressed, and inspired. That is one of the things I must do if I am childminding as, what a great service and hope my local service is as good as yours! Well done you. Fireworks night sounded great btw so sweet!

Oh, and Diege, sorry but no, Paul from Tikabilla has always been mine.

sarahsausage · 07/11/2006 10:04

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Ash Libby & Finn Happy Birthday to you

Hope you all have fab 1st birthdays

GG thanks for the cd I got this morning. Good luck with the Usborne Books, it's well worth doing especially at this time of year. I did it for a while while Ben was little and they are very popular.

Diege, Libby sounds like she had a great 1st b'day party

Brownie sorry to hear of your loss, hugs to you all.

Right after a busy weekend away am now trying to catch up with all the jobs so best go and get on with some of them. Love to all Beks

Diege · 07/11/2006 12:25

Thanks for all you good wishes for Libby's birthday, and for the card(s) and lovely book, BEKS and GG . The birthday girl is actually in nursery today, and has taken in a Tiger cake to enjoy with her little friends.
CONGRATULATONS TO FINN AND ASH TOO, birthday triplets!!!!
I am (technically) working from home today, which is lovely, and I have managed to get a bit done which is surprising for me! Have a driving lesson booked for this afternoon which I'm dreading as I've not been in a car for 6 weeks . It's not that I have any real desire to drive, but the desire not to have to explain why I don't want to drive is now taking over, if this makes sense, and it feels like it's 'hanging over me'. I guess I don't like giving up on things after investing so much money in lessons, but just can't see myself ever passing .
Wow BROWNIE at little T and his first steps , and at the news about your grandad - a great age, but sad nonetheless. Sounds like things are super busy for you, so look after yourself!
Well, deserve a break after sending 2 e-mails so off out for lunch!
Speak later,
Diege

JenJam · 07/11/2006 13:36

Hi all
...Go, go, go, go, go, go
Go, shorty

We gon' party like it's your birthday
We gon' sip babycino like it's your birthday
And you know we don't give a teletubbie....it's yer birthday
GG I am so impressed! we loved receiving your card. many many thanks!
happy birthday LIBBY AND ASH - have a lovely day and hope you eat cake!

James and I have taken the day off to eat cake, drink bubbles and take finn to the soft play centre. (not in that order...we are going to go to softplay without the smell of champagne on our breath)
I can hardly believe they are one!
love Jen and Finn

ChaCha · 07/11/2006 14:46

Happy Birthday Finn, Ash, Libby!!! Hurray!

Brownie - Sorry to hear of your loss
Yay to first steps Diege - How many more lessons do you think you'll need? Keep at it!

Log on later, much to do x

Diege · 07/11/2006 17:37

Well, driving instructor didn't turn up, much to my initial delight (she booked me in for NEXT Tuesday by accident), but now of course wishing she had!
Waiting for dh to get dds from nursery/childminders now, so last few minutes of piece.
Some advice too please from those with more than one child. Scarlett has been invited to a party this Sunday at a playbarn, but not Jasmine (dd1). As we come as a package (ie, I don't drive so can't just take S), would it be rude to take J and ask if we could pay for her entrance (and explain to J that she'll be having her lunch after at home?) She hasn't NOT been invited, but the invite was just for Scarlett. Have sort of 'fallen out' a bit with the mum (long, long story)so don't really want to create a situation where there needn't be one at all!
Any advice appreciated!
Right, best savour my last few minutes!

Diege · 07/11/2006 17:38

Arghh 'few minutes if PEACE' !!!!

Diege · 07/11/2006 18:08

OF peace even

GarfieldsGirl · 07/11/2006 20:42

Hi.

Diege, yes sounds like a good plan of action. I don't see why they would have any problem with it esp. if you're going to pay for food & entrance.

twinkle1 · 07/11/2006 22:19

twinkle & Josh

Diege · 07/11/2006 22:29

Yah TWINKLE you're back!! Yes, we must meet up soon, though, as RODEO will attest to, me and 'texting' don't go together very well .
You could e-mail me through yahoo, though not sure if you can access it as you were having problems last time I think? My e-mail is [email protected]
Hope everyone had a good day, bed for me now!

Enthusia · 08/11/2006 07:10

Hi all

Happy birthday to all the one year old out there!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I have missed the festivities. I am getting so emotional now that we are coming up to Sam's birthday. It all started a year ago today, how weird!

As for us, well we are all still here but as always it has been manic. I gave up work after I had a bleed at 10 weeks, all is ok, they have no idea where I bled from but it was scary. Bump is huge and completely different from Sam, we are wondering if it may be a girl! I am 17 weeks today! Our house still hasn't gone through, we are meant to be exchanging and completing on Friday so it is extremely stressful here. DH is still away a lot, sometimes the whole week and nearly every week. We had an infestation of fleas - we think following on from the mouse we had living in the kitchen cupboard, so I have seen enough of Rentakill recently to last a lifetime. Have had various family problems but they are seeming to sort themselves out now. Sam is excellent, hard work, but excellent. He knows exactly what he wants and can tell us in a mixture of pointing, screaming and some signing. He is nearly walking we are just waiting for the first steps any day. Everyone comments on what a happy, inquisitive little boy he is, he really is nosey (just like his mum). I went to the Drs last week and said it was his birthday and the Dr asked which one, she thought it was his 2nd!!!!! He is still large. He s about 90cm-1M tall (off the chart) and his weight is still on the 98th percentile at a very healthy 2 stone!!!!! He is some lump to carry around. But he is so cheeky.

Well that is him I can hear stirring now so better go and get him up. Hope you are all well. I do pop on and read every now and then but rarely get chance at the mo to add comments!

Anyway Big Happy Birthdays to you all.
Speak soon

Enthusia

novadandypowder · 08/11/2006 10:35

Lovely to hear from you Enthusia, you are exactly 3 wks behind me . Noo is at the 2 stone mark too, and I'm longing for her to start walking and climbing stairs as my back is killing me. I keep putting her at the bottom of the stairs but she just looks up and starts playing with the shoes the are lined up at the bottom by the front door.

Chacha - love the new pics of Z, your holiday looks fab. We haven't bothered clearing away stuff for noo, or getting locks/gates (apart from a fire guard), as at the mo she's really good. Saying that, my cleaner did point out that she was eating a DVD the other day when I was making lunch, but I figured that was a small price to pay for some peace.

Londoner - You'd make a fab childminder, the kids that go to you will be very lucky.

Rodeo - I'm amazed at how quickly I can read your coded posts now, but when are you getting a new keyboard ?

Diege - glad L enjoyed her birthday. Have you thought of learning to drive in an automatic or would it be too much of a pain to change your family car? IMO driving an automatic is soooo much easier.

Brownie - sorry to hear your sad news. Well done on the walking T . And I would probably go for a different colour change bag, as you never know if the other one would ever come back into stock, and I would find a discount and free p&p too hard to resist

GG - that fire safety check sounds ace. Must confess that like Chacha we've taken the batteries out of one of ours as it went off every time we cooked (not that I am that much of a bad cook - lol - it was just very sensitive). Hope the book selling takes off.

Have put a few recent pics on yahoo.

20wk scan yesterday, felt like a bit of an anti-climax as we had to take noo and we spent the whole time trying to entertain her rather than focusing on the beanie. This poor little one is being very neglected. And we didn't find out if it was pink or blue.

Londoner · 08/11/2006 11:24

Hello all,

Hi Enthusia great to hear from you!

Nova! omg 20 week scan, cannot believe it! How exciting, especially as we have to wait and see what flavour.
Thanks for the encouragement on cm front , it's really helpful.
Diege, it's really tricky when that happens isn't it? Have been in similar situations in past and think we did same as you, hope it works out, but it is awkward whatever you do I think, good luck on keeping the peace. Try treating the other mum as tricky work colleague, might help?

Am in secondary transfer heeeeeeeeeeellll at the mo. Had very helpful hv the other day though who I went to see in desperation, to get Elizabeth weighed as well to check she's not starving/losing weight with all of this bf instead of food malarky. She's doing really well and is still on her birth curve which is just above 25th centile so that's a real relief. Hv really listened and didn't encourage me to get her on the formula even though I mentioned it, she asked what I wanted to do and suggested I go back to 8 month stage of weaning, so back onto soups and trying to replace one meal at a time.... not as easy as it sounds with a baby that shakes her head at most food lol......... Hey, thanks guys, think my head is about to fall off![gurn].

Happy birthday Sean - hope you have a great birthday little man Tom & Ben send hugs Beks

Beksmum · 08/11/2006 13:21

Hi all

Enthusia good to see you back, Sam sounds just like Tom, they are about the same height and weight, everyone looks surprised when I say he's only 1 too.

Nova wow 20 weeks already, where does the time go? Glad to hear you didn't find out the flavour, it will make it all the more exciting pushing beanie out! I guarantee the memories will come flooding back with the first twinge

Londoner I agree with the others the kids who come to you will be very lucky and very happily entertained in their parents absence. Glad the HV could reassure you about E's weight, she looks more than fine in her b'day pictures.

Chacha good on you for the house clearing, I can't believe the mess I'm allowing Tom to play in, I feel really bad as I'd never have let ben play in a building site. Still the works nearly finished now so hopefully will be able to get the place painted before Xmas I did say Xmas 09 their didn't I

Diege sounds like soft play hell to me, take J along, i'm sure you won't be the only mum to have to take siblings and as your paying for her, it's really not the other mums worry, would probably suggest taking her off to eat with you while the others are eating and warning her she won't get a party bag etc but I'm sure it will be just fine.

The meet up photo's and the ones of Zayn and Noo are just adorable, what a gorgeous bunch of kids we've created

Right next addresses needed are Twinkle's, & Enthusia's & Goldenoldies. GO If you're lurking let us know how the boys are!

Right best go and sort out the folks room as they are coming back tomorrow and I've turned their room into the junk room again Beks

LaylaandSethsmum · 08/11/2006 13:26

Hi

So Sorry i missed the birthdays but HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASH, LIBBY AND FINN.!!!!

Hope you all had fab days!! xxx

GarfieldsGirl · 08/11/2006 13:27

Hi all.

Tom, Ben, Beks & Mr Beks, thank you very much for the card and little book. Very kind. He's really started enjoying books by himslef recently.

Are older siblings always such a nightmare when it comes to birthdays? Owen wouldn't let Sean near any of his prestns this morning, either wrapped or unwrapped. Bless him, though, as we went off to school he asked us not to do anything without him. Ahhhh!!

MIL. Argh!!! Can't even spell her grndons name right. Shaun. Grrrrrrrrrrr! I suppose she rememebred it's his birthday, thats more tan she ever eill do in the future.

20wks nova, crikey, it does seem to be going fast (from here anyway, I'm sure you don;t feel that way).

Enthusia, your's seems to have gone even quicker. I remember the buying a new house, dealing with mice & fleas while pregnant very well. You have my sympathies, you really do. Everybody telling you to 'take it easy' wants to make you scream!

Love the new photos on yahoo.

I'm supposed to be tidying p and sorting car insurance, so off I go. I apologise for the standard of my typing today, got fed up with correcting it after the 1st sentence.
