Happy birthday Mini 'Dango Cake

Yesterday was lovely and lively Xmas Smile i completely exhausted myself though (didn't bother with the buggy and Winchester is v hilly) then walked a couple of miles each way to playgroup then jabs. Tomorrow is just us then I'm looking after one friend's dc wed and thu morning and another friend's dc fri afternoon as their childcare has let them down. Plus I'm taking a dozen teens carol singing for local old people tonight (annual event) Xmas Shock roll on xmas and sil can have R for a sleepover Xmas Grin

I've not mentioned sleep in ages, but T is paying us back for all the months of awful sleeping and now sleeping really well. Goes down at 6:30 and sleeps straight through to 6:15, feeds for 15 mins then goes back to bed. Sometimes sleeps til 7:30, sometimes plays with his teddies. He's got a fishtank in there (for the white noise) and he light turns on at 7 which either wakes him gently, or gives him light to play.

I'm still dreading first teeth, as we still have none, and I can't help but worry this lovely routine will be knocked off kilter again. That or jabs, which I'm dreading so much I've blocked them from my mind completely. Not sure when we'll get our appointment for them through, just after Christmas I guess. Hopefully DH will be off and can take him.

Spotty I'd be furious with my DH if he wanted that much time to himself these days. I know you've complained about him before too, making long days even longer giving people lifts and things. Do you think he's so quick on the defensive because he knows he's wrong? He cannot help but see the inequality in your 'me' time that you both get. Is there anything that you'd like to do for yourself? Regular swimming in the evening or nights out with friends?
I'm terrible at such things, because what I want is time at home alone, or time with DH. I don't want to go out anywhere to 'take' my time off.
I feel for you, but no real advice. You're definately not unreasonable in your anger though.

Congratulations fod, hope the first trimester treats you well!

hales how's your tooth? Have you got along to the dentist? You should be able to get an emergency appointment quickly for that sort of thing.

Just catching up - many happy returns to A,E and J Cake (hope I've not missed anyone Blush) and massive congratulations Fod.

Hope you're ok Spotty. Many, many words have been spoken here this weekend about DH basically being completely obsessed with work and having no appreciation of what I do to keep everything else running relatively smoothly despite not exactly having a stress-free job myself. The situation was somewhat compounded by him announcing Friday evening with no prior warning that he was going on his work's Christmas do, staying out till fuck knows when and then being too hungover to do anything all of Saturday. Things WILL be changing in the new year one way or another.

Oh no ispy Hmm I'm really fed up with it because he always manages to make it seem like I'm being the selfish one. No notice for going out is completely out of order I hope he makes it up to you.

Glad your tooth is feeling better hales I just ate all the left overs as was too busy to join.

Ds is being a pita. He's got an awful cough which woke him up ninety minutes ago and he's only just gone back down. He was only happy if I was holding him or paying him but just wouldn't go back to sleep. I brought him into bed but he just wanted to play Angry funnily enough dp managed to 'sleep' through all his screaming

Hope babies are settled after jabs/exciting parties etc

Oh DP's!!
DP and I are almost speaking after our epic row a week ago on sunday. Im thoroughly fed up and not bothered about how things end up. I've got R and the bump to focus my energies on.

Sorry to hear about all the DP problems! I think sometimes you have to give them a good kick up the arse to make them realise how childish they are being.

Well two nights ago DS slept really well. Then the next night he woke around 2 and wouldn't settle so ended up in bed with me.
Last night he whinged at about 2:30 but stayed asleep. At 4:30 ish he woke and was not happy. I picked him up and he was boiling hot! I gave him a little bottle and he threw it up all over me as I was on my way to ask DH if he thought DS was hot.
DH, bless him, sprang out of bed when he heard the sick hot the floor and me saying "oh DS, it's ok, it's ok". Poor tiny was really upset.

DH changed him and I showered. He had a temp of 38.8 and was quite happy to be naked Grin
We settled him in bed between us and he slept until 7:40. Poor lamb. He seems fine this morning. Would you take him to the dr or just keep an eye on him?
Oh and at the dr yesterday we got to see bean (mark 2) and it's little tiny heartbeatSmile

Aww Nutella that's lovely EnvyGrin if ds doesn't have a temp today I wouldn't see a doctor. It may well come back later, dd often wakes up fine than goes down hill rapidly.

Report
2blessed · 17/12/2013 08:33

I agree, I would monitor temp today and give plenty of fluids.

Argh ds won't go to sleep! I've got to go to dd's nativity in an hour and he's going to be miserable. His napping is crap atm Angry

I've got the opposite problem Spotty. DS has just crashed out for his 2 hour nap. I have a viewer coming in 45 mins. This should be entertaining!

Off to tidy up like a mad woman before he gets here. We currently have no dining room as I emptied it for the party and filled it with toys. I'll just have to explain I think. I've left the birthday banners up to add credibility to the story!

Report
WLmum · 17/12/2013 19:49

nut hope ds's temp has stayed down and there's been more sick.
spotty hope nativity went well, we had dd1s carol concert tonight. T behaved impeccably.
willyou hope the viewing went well.

So dilemma - pil have given T cards with her name misspelt! To tell or not to tell? I don't want to make them feel bad but dd2 went to theirs as she didn't want to come to the concert and sweetly made a card for T but traced over words written by granny - and misspelt. Not sure why they're getting it wrong! She's Tabitha not Tabatha!

Report
WLmum · 17/12/2013 19:50

Do I ignore it and hope they realise in time? But will they feel worse if it goes on?

Dp has decided that he's going out Saturday night for his birthday and he's staying at his brothers. I found this out when he told our friends that's what he's doing. 'Well you can come too if you want' is what he said.

Should I just LTB now?
