haha WL That sounds quite funny.

sorry about everyone else's poor sleep H went to sleep at 4am but then cried alot in her sleep so hardly any sleep was had here. Hoping for better night tonight but i doubt it will happen as she has only just gone down for nap. Also her appetite is worse than normal today i think shes in pain somewhere.

I've got two gannets, I don't know how I'm going to afford to feed them both as they get older

I'm looking forward to sausage and mash for dinner (with the red cabbage) and veg. Debating whether or not to do yorkshires and stuffing too we will be having them tomorrow with roast chicken but I do love them...

I'm sure the babies are telepathic sometimes. N also decided thst pulling pyjama bottoms down would be a fun game this morning but DH was his chosen victim

We went to get N's first shoes today. He's a size 3G and very proud of his big boy shoes.

Have also discovered what looks suspiciously like a molar trying to break through N's top gum. Could explain the even crapper than normal sleep we've been having.

DS went back to sleep at 1:30 (after his 4th bottle) and only got up at 7:45. He clearly knew it was DP's get up the traitor. I've got up at 4:30 everyday for the last fortnight. After drinking 24oz of milk in the night, DS had 1.5 weetabix, a full slice of toast and some organix for breakfast. It must be a growth spurt.

Just been to a 1st birthday pool party, it was lovely but as ill advised as it sounds . Too many big kids and grown men nearly drowning the babies. J wailed in changing rooms, when the little shits other kids were blowing party horns and all the way home.

I am exhausted now but the lovely hosts sent me home with loads of cake. X-factor, and before an early night for me. DP's off to play poker tonight.

Hmmm, Ts appetite seems a bit down too.
Really hoping that we've reached the worst point of sleep training and that it starts to get better tonight - we've got friends coming for a take away tonight so will probably be late to sleep, then swimming lessons and 12 people for lunch tomorrow. Seemed like a good idea at the time!

Pool party sounds like a nightmare! I find the only way to cope after swimming is rice cakes. Or cheerios. I lay him out a mini picnic on the bench while i get dressed then do him!

We're doing a Dear Zoo party joint with a friend. My mum is going to do a book corner, I'll do a bit of a sing song, plus a free for all of toys in the church hall - we've put on the invitations to bring a toy to share instead of a present

Argh I'd hate a pool party too, I'd be making dp go instead!

WL I saw they're doing the stick man live but only in London....I've got dd the book for Christmas.

Utopian, yes, just turned 10 months. Born 30/12. Something is also going on with her naps. Think we need to adjust them but haven't quite worked that out yet. She was up at 4.30am! Went back down at 7.30am but then resisted next sleep at 11am. Had 40mins at 12.30 but that's it. Feeding her now & then she'll be asleep. She is making a lot of developmental leaps too, especially with walking (not unaided...yet!).

Ds completely refuses to stand/walk. He cruises loads and pulls up on anything (including flat surfaces) but if you put him down he just collapses to his knees. It's quite frustrating as I think he could do it if he tried. He was the same with sitting though I suppose. He just never did it as he wanted to crawl all the time, even though he could do it...

spotty some babies just insist on doing things only when they are completely ready.

I would be worried about the safety of a pool party and would wonder just how much enjoyment the 1 year old would get.

As we've got guests coming the house is clean (ish) and tidy (ish) - its so nice! DH have the dds tea so I could shower and do hair and make up. 'twas lovely. I'm hungry now though and food will be ages.

That sounds nice Pidj. I can't really be arsed to do much and it'll be the 16th Dec. I may do a gluhwein and Stollen party for the mums and the babies can fend for themselves while we chat!

J's exactly the same Spotty. If I stand him up and let go he'll stand there for ages but as soon as he realises he's stood unsupported he drops to his bum. Oh well, he'll do it soon enough. When's F's birthday?

It was safe tbh WL as there were loads of spare adults. We commandeered the shallow end/steps as baby central (far away from the big kids) and they had a fantastic time climbing in/out and splashing each other. I think it helps that we regularly meet up to go to swimtots/for a splash so we're used to looking out for each other's babies. The pool provided a life guard and baby float seats.

It was properly hard work though. There were 7 babies in the changing room wailing in unison at one point.

DS is poorly, he's been crying off and on (mainly on) since 2pm. He's hot to the touch but the thermometer says he's only 37.8. I'm not convinced.

The weather here is horrendous. I had to wait for a deluge of rain to pass before I could drive home from the pool. And the fireworks keep waking J up. At least I have and .

What are you having WL? Hope you're having fun with your guests.

A is the same Spotty. DH will try to make him stand and you get a withering look and after a second he very carefully sits down. So frustrating.

I really hope teeth are coming. He won't let me put a finger in to feel, so hopefully they're breaking the surface. And I need sleep tonight. It's been a week of worse than normal sleep, it's not fair.

He's barely eaten (again). A mouthful of lunch, same at dinner and the tiniest bit of chocolate brownie. Teeth? I hope so.

Tbf WillYou that would be a temp for dd and ds who usually average 36.6. It's really windy here too, all the doors are rattling from the draught. Luckily no fireworks near enough to disturb really.

Ds' birthday is 26th November sob sob sob every day I think about having another one I think as his first birthday approaches it's getting worse.

DS is usually between 36 and 36.2 Spotty. Does that mean this is a temp? I've given both calpol and ibuprofen but it's not moved at all.

Hopefully just teeth Beasty. I am sick to the back teeth of bloody teeth!

Yep anything over 37 is a temp and over 38 is a fever. I would guess it's just teeth but would keep an eye on it and maybe remove some clothing.

I've put him in his old summer sleep bag instead of his big thick one. I'll give the ibuprofen half an hour and check him again.

He's back up due to fireworks. I need even considered that they would keep him awake before.

19th here, Spotty that's like 2 1/2 weeks party is 30th though, in between the two birthdays :)

We're just going to have close family and friends round for a birthday tea for N. Thinking of doing a bit of a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme - there seems to be loads of party bits with it on, I reckon I could have a bash at a cake and it certainly suits the Very Hungry N!

He absolutely adores Dear Zoo as well. Sounds like it'll be a great party Pidge.

How glad am I that we decided against taking DS1 to a firework display? It's wild out there. Really hoping it improves tomorrow. We're planning to take the boys to see Blackpool illuminations. Think they'll really enjoy it and will be a nice birthday day out for me

WillYou if it's not responding to pcm/brufen, get medical advice. In the meantime keep his fluids up and strip off to nappy. Cool bath or damp flannel on the back of his nack, but make sure he's dry for an hour before leaving the house :)

I find medicine wears off after about 3/4 hours. Agree with pidj though if the medicine isn't reducing the temp it sounds like an infection. If he's due more medicine I would see what it's like after that, if not I would call ooh (111 are rubbish IMO). It's always best to get it checked out. Dd had a temp of over 40 once and they weren't worried as calpol brought it down. She was older though
