DS is being an absolute PITA. He will not go down, I let him have a late nap due to tired, whingy PITAness earlier on... Big mistake, BIG, HUGE! He's scratched seven shades of shit out of my face. DP is up there now trying to sort it but it's not going well. DS has worked himself up so much that he spewed all over our bedroom carpet. As if I didn't have enough washing to do Hmm

Only done 1 load so far WL, DP got stuck at work (6am-7:30pm) so he only finished installing it at 8:30.

Ugh FoD I could not be arsed with that at 9pm. Luckily my MiL works early shifts and goes to bed at 7pm!

I think I need to write today off as a very bad job Wine

WLmum · 11/12/2013 22:46

Oh dear willyou. Tomorrows another day.

SpottyChristmasCakes · 12/12/2013 07:38

Oh dear WillYou Sad don't worry today will be better.

I'm being a terrible, terrible mum and ds is eating weetos BlushBlush we don't usually have bad cereal in the house but umm well I have no excuse I just fancied them.

I've got friends coming round today and we're making gingerbread houses. Dp is going to his Nan's funeral, I couldn't get childcare and it's the only day I could get the car fixed unless I waited until next Thursday but I felt that was too long. I feel bad not going but even if I had the car I don't want dd going to a funeral.

WLmum · 12/12/2013 08:14

Thanks for the 4.30 am wake up call for the second day running T. Not impressed. I feel some sleep training approaching again now she's better!
spotty are weetos that bad? Anything is fine is a rare treat.
Hope funeral goes well, I'm sure he understands about you not going.

SpottyChristmasCakes · 12/12/2013 08:24

Dp doesn't mind it's his family I'm worried about Wink

Early mornings are rubbish (dd is still asleep Shock but she was up in the night). Hopefully it doesn't become a habit and you won't have to sleep train.

I think they're pretty sugary I always try to at least start the day healthily for the dc!

Fod how long are you ILs visiting for?

MrsNutella · 12/12/2013 14:49

wl I think I know that song... I will have l look it up!
We still haven't spoken to the PIL.... I'm leaving it entirely up to DH to deal with in whatever way he feels best and I just keep telling him that I will do whatever he needs me to do. That he is a good son and that this whole thing is not his fault.

I shed and dried my hair and have decided that it is a little too blonde but that will hopefully settle down a bit. The cut is ok but isn't his best so I will leave it and see how I go. It is vey useful being ably to tie it back (DS likes to pull it occasionally) so I really don't want it any shorter.

My mum has been trying to help solve DP's night wakings. She suggested a blanket. This morning at about 2:30 I was cuddling him back to sleep (for the second time, first time was 2:15 Angry. DH gave him a bottle at about midnight so I decided it was too soon for a second one) when I remembered a nice cuddly fleecy b,a met a friend gave us when DS was born. Dug the blanket out and covered DS end I while I cuddled him. Put him back in his bed, laid the blanket over him and he slept until 7:20. ShockShockShock

Shit! Wy didn't I try that before?! Perhaps he has been ok when he first goes t bed but gets chilly later on? Well tonight we will try the blanket again and fx!!!

MrsNutella · 12/12/2013 14:50

*i washed and dried my hair haha!

Oh and I didn't sleep solidly. Ket waking up and checking DS thinking I'd cooked him! Grin

halestone · 12/12/2013 15:10

Willyou i hope your having a better day today.

Nutella, H always manages to put herself under my quilt and then she sleeps solidly until her bum or belly wake her.

Spotty, hope your DP is ok todayThanks

FoD i hope having your IL's there is ok.

I am christmas shopped out, we went to Liverpool on tuesday, Cheshire Oaks yesterday and Warrington today. And i still have more to buy, online shopping all the way now though.

WL i hope T sleeps longer for you tomorrow morning.

Do you remember that asda car seat thing that spotty put on facebook. Well i saw one last night but don't know how to share it on our group page for the same car seat, but the one asda said wasn't affected. Someone was involved in a 15mph car crash and it cut through the seatbelts. Just thought i'd let you know incase anyone has got one.

SpottyChristmasCakes · 12/12/2013 15:22

I still haven't got ds the next seat I must do it as soon as I have some spare money! The thing is you assume, that if they're sold in this country, then they're going to be safe.

That's a lot of shopping hales Shock I've done all of mine online this year Grin

Nutella ds is a hair grabber too. Glad the blanket worked! Hope things start getting better for you Smile

Stacks · 12/12/2013 15:43

I've been awful about keeping up with mn threads, but I saw this on Facebook and it made me chuckle. Remind you of our LOs? 10m old's letter to santa

FandangoLaLaLaLaLaLaLaaaa · 12/12/2013 17:33

I shared that yesterday Stacks and all my mum friends stole it!

I have given DS a quilt and pillow, last night he slept 10:30-4:30, bottle then 5:15-7:15. It was officially awesome, I figure a proper baby quilt and cot pillow have to be better for him than my adult one which is what he usually ends up on/under.

I started shopping on Saturday and have just one present to buy ::high fives self:: This is particularly impressive given I was out of action for 2 full days with sickness Smile not feeling particularly festive though. Think I need to watch love actually.

FandangoLaLaLaLaLaLaLaaaa · 12/12/2013 17:34

And I had finished my last load of washing until GMiL helpfully took it out of the washer and folded it back into the dirty sick bucket while I was at ASDA! Back into the washer it goes!

PurplePidjin · 12/12/2013 17:36

We have independent steps Xmas Grin he's been doing it accidentally for weeks but only a couple and he'd get upset as soon as he realised he'd let go, but today he was trundling around the library! The he walked to the park (holding hands, about 100yards) climbed the slide and walked to costa (50ish yards)

jackandjilly · 12/12/2013 17:56

Yay pidjGrin how lovely.

Hi all sorry I have been truly rubbish at keeping up. I'm knackered beyond belief but Christmas soon so all good!

Be back later to post more

Maryland2013 · 12/12/2013 19:29

Aww Pidj that's so lovely!!! What a clever boy!

Willyou that's funny, I was going to ask when we can give quilts and pillows. DS keeps waking in the middle of the night which he never does. I'm wondering if he gets cold.. It goes down to 16 in his room. Tonight I'm going to copy Nutella and put a blanket over his sleeping bag but have wondered if a quilt would be better.

SpottyChristmasCakes · 12/12/2013 19:32

Ds has a 3.5tog sleeping bag with arms which keeps him really toasty. I think it's a year for a pillow etc so about now. With dd we waiting until the for went into a bed as she was happy in her sleeping bag. Will do the same with ds unless he stops sleeping well in his bag Smile

MrsNutella · 12/12/2013 19:43

pidj how cute! Ad yay mini pidj on the walking.

spotty I haven't been able to find a 3.5 tog bag Hmm considering today was "warm" (9 degress C) and the nights in jan - march (or like last year nov - late April) are almost always in minus degrees I feel a bit thick for not dressing him a bit warmer sooner...

Oh well. The blanket is over the edge of his bed at the moment and I'll put it on him when I go to bed (after the heating goes off).
Interesting about pillows. Although I might wait a bit until DS stops thrashing about in his sleep Grin seems a bit pointless at the moment.

We had a lovely day visiting my friend. Her little girl is 4 days older than DS and is walking. They are about the same height now - two weeks ago she looked much bigger. They kept kissing, it was very cute! And I didn't manage to photo or video it once!

SpottyChristmasCakes · 12/12/2013 19:54

Oh Nutella if you wanted one I'd be happy to send one out Smile

MrsNutella · 12/12/2013 20:17

spotty thank you, that's really lovely of you! I'm coming to the uk for Christmas though; so I'll get a couple delivered to my little brother's house Grin I'm sure he likes to getting lots of parcels. But if I don't find one I will keep your offer in mind, if that's ok?

SpottyChristmasCakes · 12/12/2013 20:27

No worries I got it from amazon but Mothercare do them and they also do sleep suits which are really thick and come in different togs so like a sleeping bag but with arms and legs

Maryland2013 · 12/12/2013 21:07

What brand is your 3.5 tog bag please Spotty??

2blessed · 12/12/2013 22:54

I'm rubbish! Past week has been super busy and stressful. DS has a chest infection and on antibiotics, poor babs. I've got a sore throat and generally feel like shit.
Bit Envy of those who have finished their christmas shopping.
Hope poorly lo's are on the mend.

WLmum · 12/12/2013 22:58

3.5 tog sound snuggly. T is too much of a wriggler for an additional blanket so I've got a plug in radiator in her room to stop it going below about 17 degrees. It also helps me not to freeze during the night feeds!

utopian sorry af remains absent - id swap you for mine - I seem to have had fearsome pmt this month. You know when you know you're being wildly unreasonable but just can't stop it?!

utopian99 · 13/12/2013 00:40

We've got a heater too for O after I realised the cold was waking him. Could do with another for the flat though.

Thanks for the offer wl - v generous! Xmas Grin

Sorry about ABs 2blessed, they are horrid but hopefully ds will be better soon..

SpottyChristmasCakes · 13/12/2013 06:27

Oh no 2blessed hope the ab work quickly.

It's this one. (Hope that works links from amazon app are dodgy!) also it's not as dark as the photo it's really nice Smile
