I did thanks! Yum! Now that T appears to be finally feeling better I need to start encouraging her to boob til sleepy but actually settle without.
beasty hope poorly boy is feeling better.
spotty def sounds infected - get it sorted -it could lead to some nastiness. Book yourself into one of those slots!

FandangoLaLaLaLaLaLaLaaaa · 09/12/2013 23:43

Hey peeps, hope you're all fast a-bo-bos must stop with baby language when I go back to work. I am now fully recovered and 4lbs lighter! Bonus Xmas weight loss! Not worth it though Grin

Definitely get your finger sorted Spotty.

Glad DP could come home and let you get some rest Nutella.

Hope A's feeling better Beasty.

J has gone from spending all night in his cot to doing less than an hour on there before he wakes and we have to cosleep. I think it's because he's been ill for over 5 weeks now. I was supposed to sleep train this week but that's out of the window as we've been so ill and I'm out Thursday and Friday. I'll be starting on Monday though as it's getting ridiculous now.

utopian99 · 10/12/2013 05:30

Glad you're feeling better will you (love that our name for you currently bears almost non relation to your name) and nut. I never realised how much harder it is being ill with a lo around.

Fx for poor A beasty, and getting fingers seen to spotty.

Our freeholder has decided to ask for £10k for permission to convert the loft, I.e. to improve their asset. Strongly worded letter tomorrow I think! (Sols think it's just a gambit to take advantage of the inexperienced)

O slept 8-5! We seem to be back to where we were before the ill advised sleep training malarkey. That's taught me. And that's with two more teeth on the way. He is a ferocious rummager in bed too Hales, but seems calmer in the cot these days than in with us, so all good.

Tiny talk Christmas party this morning then nct party tomorrow; super social baby! Xmas Grin

BarHumbugBeasty · 10/12/2013 05:32

Once the Calpol wore off his temp went up to 39.2.

Another bad night, despite generous use of neurofen, and he's screaming in his cot now because I'm getting up for work.

Hopefully he'll turn the corner today at MIL's. He's fine a couple of hours after taking medicine (he climbed over me onto the back of the sofa to reach one of DD's paintings yesterday evening), but so slow and cuddly otherwise. And hot!!

SpottyChristmasCakes · 10/12/2013 05:47

Beasty how longs he had the temp?

I will try speak to a dr but they can't do anything as I'm not registered where I work!

WillYou I lost half a stone when I was ill and promptly out it back on Hmm

BarHumbugBeasty · 10/12/2013 07:31

Only since Sunday night. And when I left for work he didn't feel too hot to be honest, but I didn't have a chance to take his temp.

He's still cuddly but wasn't upset when I put him down to play so I could leave, despite having cried the entire time I was getting up.

We're leaving it down to MIL to see how he is later, and bribed DD with the promise of chocolate if she's good for granny! Fx he picks up today.

Equimum · 10/12/2013 11:54

Hope little one feels better soon Beasty.

Have fun at the parties Utopian, but it sucks about the freeholder business! A strongly worse letter definitely sounds appropriate.

Has anyone been able to look at your finger Spotty.

We were up most of the night here Sad. DSs cough siddenly got much worse and he was alternating between screaming, whining and coughing from 12-4! Kept him off nursery and took him to the doctors to get checked, but as we suspected, it's viral.

MrsNutella · 10/12/2013 14:16

Equi it's so pants when it is viral isn't it? I wish there was something that would help but no you have to push on through. Poor babies.

Spotty that finger sounds really painful! I hope you get it sorted.

I've been in bed by 10pm the last two nights - unheard of for me, so I am V ill!
DS is still waking regularly throughout the night but I think I just can't do it anymore. I don't know what to do about it and I know that poorlyness and teeth keep mucking it up when we get so close to him sleeping longer. I haven't had a decent nights sleep all year and I feel like I have the mental capacity of a goldfish.

And I went to the hairdresser today, and he got really scissor happy again and, I don't like it Sad. I'm not convinced about the colour - I think it's too blonde. And the cut just isn't me, I hate it. But if I get him to sort it out my hair will be shorter, it was just starting to grow out a bit!

SpottyChristmasCakes · 10/12/2013 14:41

Hope he's on the mend beasty.

Equi it's so annoying when it's viral but definitely always best to get it checked.

Oh no Nutella I hope the hair colour grows on you. How often is ds waking? Is it for milk?

I got some antibiotics from a dr at work Grin

lazzaroo · 10/12/2013 18:40

Have been a but absent the past few days as it was dd1 birthday Thurs & party at the weekend. Went really well.

So, 3 weeks off her first birthday & baby lazza slept 6.15 to 5 last night! Amazing! Is it coincidence that she had a massive bowl of porridge before bed?! Time will tell (yes, she's had the same again tonight Wink)

I feel your pain nutella, I am in desperate need of getting some decent sleep back. Hope yours improves soon.

Hope everyone who has been poorly is better soon.

I'm stressing out a it aboutbhow unorganised I am for Christmas. All the presents are stashed in a cupboard in baby lazza's room. Every time I think I'll do some wrapping she's asleep and I daren't wake her! I need some child free time!

WLmum · 10/12/2013 20:31

I hear that lazza!
Good work spotty

T was a monster and was up 3 times last night after being tricky to get to bed, and was tricky to settle each time. I think she was just a bit turned around after a v late night on sun and masses of daytime sleep on Monday. She's eaten really well today - so so nice after not eating for so long. Hopefully she'll sleep better tonight as I've got af visiting and I'm a grumpy cow! Poor DH is annoying me for no reason (and every reason!).

utopian99 · 11/12/2013 01:28

Ditto lazza, but in my case I've barely started shopping. Dh has been at a work do so I was going to do photos calenders for the great grandparents but have instead spent 4 hours working! Perils of being self employed I guess.

Dh has just got home so I am now in bed while he resettles O. I can hear him kissing his little head over the monitor. Lovely man, lovely little man.

utopian99 · 11/12/2013 01:37

Sorry that's not a very British-stiff-upper-lip post is it!?

FandangoLaLaLaLaLaLaLaaaa · 11/12/2013 03:10

Stiff upper lips are way overrated Utopian, I'm a mushy mess nowadays!

Sorry your little dudes are so poorly Beasty and Equi, I hope they feel better soon.

Glad you got your finger looked at Spotty.

Sorry you don't like your hair Nutella. I hate the hairdressers, they never do what you want.

Hope you get some rest WL and your DP becomes less irritating Grin

I'm night weaning, I just had a lightbulb moment where I realised that DS has increased his bottles steadily from 2 -> 3 -> 4 and now he's started waking for a 5th. It just can't go on. Ive given him water and a good shush pat. He's wanting 3 meals, 2 snacks and 35oz of milk per day Shock

halestone · 11/12/2013 04:37

I woke up as i could feel H fidgeting, which normally means she needs her bum changing but she wasn't next to me, she was down the bottom of the bed. I have no clue how long she had been down there. But she looked very comfy.

Willyou, we found that by giving her a cold bottle during the night she weaned herself down to one bottle which she only has between 6-8 hours after her last bottle. I was told not to give water as they just replace one thing with another and the wake ups don't stop. I don't know if thats any help to you. Sorry if its not.

Beasty and Equi i hope both of your babies are feeling better today.

Spotty i hope the antibiotics kick in quickly.

Utopian, that sounds so sweet, i love listening to H and DP especially if he thinks i can't hear.

Nutella, i hope your hair grows quickly and that the hairdresser listens next time.

WL and Lazza FX your having good nights.

If i've missed anyone i apologise but i'm going back to sleep now her bums changed and she's had a bottle.

BarHumbugBeasty · 11/12/2013 06:30

Once DD could open the spout on a sippy cup we started to leave a cup of water or cows milk in the cot with her. She gradually got used to self service! I'll get through a pint of water in a night, so can't really complain if the DC get thirsty.

I took A to the dr, so obviously he perked up massively yesterday! The dr wasn't sure whether she could hear a slight crackle in one lung (his snotty growly breathing is really loud!) so he's got some antibiotics instead. Yucky banana stuff.

Another bad night, I think just because he's so snotty.

MIL has cancelled a day out to have him today, so I feel guilty, and fx he can go to nursery tomorrow.

FandangoLaLaLaLaLaLaLaaaa · 11/12/2013 08:04

He has a terrible cough still so I don't really want to leave him without a drink. He just had a couple of sips through his straw cup (I don't know the real names Grin).

Not sure if I said my washer blew up on Monday directly after DP and I vomited on everything so my new one is coming today. It will be here between 8:30 and 10:30 but I'll have to wait until 6 to start my approximately 10 loads when DP puts it in Sad I am so sick of having sicky towels lying everywhere.

SpottyChristmasCakes · 11/12/2013 08:05

I bought three dresses online in the hope I would like one (for my works do) and they're all too big Angry I HATE having to dress up!

FandangoLaLaLaLaLaLaLaaaa · 11/12/2013 08:06

Oh and it took until 4am to get DS back to sleep (from 2:30) but he then went until now without a bottle.

SpottyChristmasCakes · 11/12/2013 18:06

Argh now dd has a fever, again! 39.5 Sad it's never ending. Hope everyone dh well for Wednesday we're meant to be going to harrods Santa's grotto!

WLmum · 11/12/2013 20:05

willyou I hope your home is now filled with freshly washed towels.
spotty hope dd is ok and you got to see Santa - did you ask him for a party dress?

SpottyChristmasCakes · 11/12/2013 20:22

I meant to type 'I hope everyone is well in Wednesday' that's when we're going to see Santa Smile she seems fine after some medicine but said her throat hurts. I've ordered three more dress so fingers crossed one of them fits!!

FriendofDorothy · 11/12/2013 20:56

sigh the inlaws are on their way. I could do without them being here to be honest.

WLmum · 11/12/2013 21:13

For fod and nut and anyone else suffering with mils, I read a bedtime story to dd2 tonight that featured the song 'you cannae shove your granny off a bus' - google it - it will make you smile.
