I won a £250 John Lewis voucher through one of the surveys on here!! I'm so pleased GrinGrinGrinGrin

MrsNutella · 13/12/2013 14:51

spotty £250 voucher sounds fab! Well done! Lucky you!

The blanket made no blooming difference last night (yawn). Looked in town for a 3.5 tog bag - nothing! So rubbish!

So I will be placing an amazon/mothercare order shortly Grin

Today we had a big brunch at play group. It was awesome! All the regulars came and brought food and presents. We had a 10€ limit on the presents and then they were numbered and we picked a number and that was your present. It worked really well. I got a fab present and I am stuffed! A couple of friends and I were the last to leave and we took all the leftover rolls and things with us and gave them to homeless people we passed, it was really lovely.

halestone · 13/12/2013 14:57

Congratulations SpottyGrin

Nutella, that sounds like a lovely morning Grin

Wow spotty that's immense!
What a lovely day nut I'm going to remember that next time food is being chucked in bin bags. Sorry you're night wasn't better - mine wasn't great - T was up at 1ish for a feed then 4.30 for a feed and I had to work really hard to get her back down. She needed to go though as then she slept til 6.45. I think she's just all turned around after being poorly for so long and now finally feeling better. She's eating well in the day so I'm going to slowly start cutting back on night feeds - slowly though as I do wonder if she's still making up for lost calories. Although she's still really long, her face had got quite slim and I've noticed her belly is getting round again.
Had a pretty nice day here - it was actually quite chilled for once. Even started writing a few Xmas cards while T was napping and dd2 and I were watching chitty chitty bang bang and eating popcorn. Not so great was standing outside school hall in the rain with dd2&3 waiting for dd1 to come out after film night (hence chitty to ward off jealousy).

Maryland2013 · 13/12/2013 20:28

Spotty that's ace... Perfect time of year for vouchers too :)
Thank you for the link, my identical 3.5 tog bag is on it's way :)

Nutella what a great day!

We're off to the comedy store tomorrow for DHs birthday. Got tickets for a 'secret' gig that Jason Manford and John Bishop are doing. Should be good..

BarHumbugBeasty · 13/12/2013 21:00

Yay congrats FoD. I'm very happy for you.

And congrats on the vouchers Spotty, I was on that survey Grin

I'm doing the same on the night feeds WL. Im letting J have one if it's over 4 h since last as he didn't eat for about a week.

Glad you had a good day Nutella.

I've had a weird old Friday 13th. Went to the Manchester markets which were lovely. Then back to my sister's hotel room after an hour wandering lost. Then the lift broke down with my sister inside Shock the engineer got her and her friends out after 30 mins but it was horrible. And the waiting taxi driver bollocked me and drove off! One of my sister's 35 yo colleagues refused to come out of her room as she hated her hair it did look pretty shit. She properly threw her toys out of the pram. Then I got the most crowded train ever home alone and a group of lads sang "You can shove your fucking kindle up your arse!" at me! Grin Luckily I'm pretty pissed tough so I just bantered it out with them. I then climbed on top of the luggage rack and sat there to prevent further lung crushage.

All in all it was one of those days that makes you feel Confused and wish your stayed at home!

2blessed · 14/12/2013 01:08

Bloody fandango, what a day!

Congratulations fod

A's walking! Brilliant beasty

Thats great news with fab timing spotty

I have officially lost the plot. I went to bed shortly after DS. He woke up moaning about half an hour and I was so pleased cos I thought he'd slept through! Til I looked at the clock and realised only twenty to one! Well he had a quick bit of boob then went straight back to sleep. I think AB are definitely kicking in, his cough isn't so aggressive now.

2blessed · 14/12/2013 01:10

Meant to say bloody hell, fandango Blush

SpottyChristmasCakes · 14/12/2013 06:38

Fod I'm so happy for you!

Happy birthday to birthday babies today.

What a night WillYou ShockGrin

Oh I've forgotten what else I read...

SpottyChristmasCakes · 14/12/2013 06:39

Maryland hope you had a great night sounds like my kind of thing.

Nutella that's a lovely thing to do Smile

BarHumbugBeasty · 14/12/2013 07:40

Happy birthday E, and congratulations FoD

I was on a packed train yesterday too, although a bit more sedate! Someone kindly arranged an all day meeting in Birmingham, so I had to travel south from New Street on a Friday. All I'll say is thank goodness I had a reserved seat.

I sat there sewing buttons on my Christmas decorations. Nearly done now.

We're going to the aquarium later, then lunch. Back home for cake and bubbly. I had to buy the cake. DH wouldn't let me make one. In fairness, for DD's first birthday I made a hungry caterpillar one and it ended up being over 1m long. We were eating the cake for weeks!

WLmum · 14/12/2013 08:29

Wow what fabulous overnight news!
fod hooray for you, and happy birthday mini fod
beasty yay for walking and happy birthday A. Haha for the 1m cake!

Excellent hales Grin

We've just had a lovely time playing catch! All four of us and when we 'threw' it to ds he burst out laughing, picked it up and shook it (one handed) for a bit before letting go. (It was a bit flat and football sized). It was super cute Smile

WLmum · 14/12/2013 20:32

That's really lovely spotty
hales I think I've missed something - alone in your bed??

We had a lovely day but it was ruined at the end by dd1. Dd1 unexpectedly got to go to the panto - with Justin fletcher! - as friends ended up with a spare ticket - poor dd2 is friends with their younger dc so it was a bit rough on her. So my mum and I took dd2 and T swimming and for a muffin afterwards and had a fab time - T loved it and was walking in the water loads more than on dry land! Got home for 5 mins so I could change and tidy myself up, out to pick up dd1 and then to a neighbours for Xmas drinks. Dd1 whined and cried the whole hour we were there until I'd enough and took them home. Being pfb we've always bent over backwards for her and the reward is that she can be very self centred. I was cross, embarrassed and disappointed.

SpottyChristmasCakes · 14/12/2013 20:39

Oh no WL was she tired after a long day? Your poor dd2, dd would have been devastated! (What 3yo doesn't love Justin?!)

FandangoLaLaLaLaLaLaLaaaa · 14/12/2013 20:43

Aw poor DD2 WL, glad she got a bit spoiled by mummy and granny. Hopefully DD1 was just tired and emosh after a long day.

We've been to see Santa today and then cleaned/tidied/decluttered ahead of J's birthday party tomorrow (birthday Monday). I'm quite excited!

I was supposed to sleep train today, but DS has just completely conked out on me instead. He's smiling in his sleep and is his gorgeous, snuggly rosy-cheeked self so I'm not even sorry!

2blessed · 14/12/2013 21:55

Well done with all the clearing out thats been going on, thats another thing on my list...

Had most of the afternoon and evening to myself as R's df took him and his ds1 out. Bliss for me. I popped out to the shops to get some 12-18mth bits for R. Then I came home, put on 2 washes, cleaned the kitchen, put on fresh bed linen and finished putting up the decorations. I'm now pooped! Snuggled up in bed whilst R's df and db sort him out for bed.

SpottyChristmasCakes · 14/12/2013 22:11

Sounds lovely 2blessed Smile

Dp and I just had an argument Angry about bloody football (obviously! He was gone for six hours today. I wasn't moaning at him about it, I was trying to explain why it stressed me out-doing dinner with ds crying due to teething and dd hanging off the Christmas tree moaning she's hungry whilst he's out having fun every Saturday-anyway he took great offence, as always we can't have a conversation without him either turning it back on me ('oh but when I get home during the week you don't do anything I do it all' yeah as I've already fed them and they're in bed an hour later...) or getting all defensive. 'I don't get why you don't want me to have a hobby/cook their main meal at lunch time if it's that stressful in the evening/it's not like I play all year' etc etc.

Sorry for big rant Blush

WLmum · 14/12/2013 23:14

In fairness dd1 was tired and hungry and I should have thought to pack a snack for her and she is sensitive and I know she would find being in a strange house with kids she doesn't know tricky but I get fed up with her not appreciating how lucky she is. I know that's true of all kids though.
spotty sorry dp is being an arse. Spend all your John Lewis vouchers on yourself - personal shopper day?
