He had calpol at 6 then again at 10 but puked it straight back. Ibuprofen at 6.

Am texting friend who is paeds nurse. She thinks it's a UTI.

My boy had barely any tea tonight. Think he was completely overtired. Managed to have a bath and then boob and has been in bed for several hours. I am now worried that it will be a difficult night now!

We went out for lunch today with my mother-in-law (she has been driving me nuts!) and there was another family behind us and the woman was breastfeeding her little one, very discretely. There was this evil woman sitting on the table next to us and she proceeded to bitch throughout the entire mealtime about children eating out, creating mess, feeding from the boob etc etc. I was so cross with her that on the way out I had words and told her she was the rudest woman I had ever met.

Willyou, if worried i would tempted to get advice from the ooh also if it gets any higher i would to A+E.

Can teething make them this poorly or is it likely to be a virus? I haaaaate having a poorly baby. Ive been so worried.

Oh dear willyou. No, teething would not make him this poorly. I would assume virus so carry on as you are but get medical advice if his temp goes up again and doesn't respond to meds. It is coming into chicken pox season so watch out for spots (dd2 had it at 8 months with sustained temp of 40).

His temp may be separate then as we're both covered in dribble. My grey top is soaked through as is his vest. I put a vest on him as I felt wrong having him naked when it's so cold!

DS finally crashed out at 12:50 but was back up 35 minutes later. DP's in now and is insisting he'll be fine to take DS for a bit, but I've packed him off to bed and he can do the early shift so that I can sleep. That feels a very long way away right now!

Really hope ds is fine will you, but as the others say if his temp won't stay down, call ooh or a&e. O had a persistent high temp and we ended up in ooh where they confirmed it was an ear infection in both ears. Once he got through the first day's worth of antibiotics he was so much better..

O came to his first fireworks in Greenwich today. Awesome ones, but as it was after his supper, and dh had him in the sling, he actually slept the whole way through!

Night weaning again tonight. Feel like Hateful Mother, but I almost can't feed him at night anyway, because he drinks too fast and is sick. How are you getting on, WL

Have lurked a bit over last week, been so tired. R had a tummy bug for nearly a week, so lots of poo explosions. Both dp and I were a bit sick with it too.
R is 10 months today! I bought his first pair of shoes yesterday since he's doing more walking.

WillYou I agree with WL, although teething can cause a temperature, it shouldn't cause a fever. Hopes he's feeling better this morning why do they always seem to go downhill at night?!

I'm going to brain DH. I've been up all fucking night. He's just come down and said what the hell are you doing? Why are you letting him cry? SERIOUSLY? SERIOUSLY? He's cried for 12 fucking hours and he's now noticed.

He took him off me and took him upstairs. I've bollocked him and sent him down. I was downstairs as I didn't want to wake the neighbours again. He said it's not worth going downstairs as he keeps falling asleep then waking up screaming. I said don't tell me what he's doing, I know what he's doing, he's been doing it for 12 hours.

I am back in bed, there will be words in the Willyou household later!

Poor willyou and babywillyou. Hope he's feeling better, you get some sleep and DH is suitably apologetic.

I think last night was a little better - first wake 2ish, gave a little slow side boob (think tonight am ready to go no boob) and then cuddling/rocking/patting to sleep. She still resisted but I'm sure it was less time. Up again at 4.45 when I just gave a full feed as I know I'm not going to win at that time, in with us at 6 then up at 6.30. Hope you had a progressive night utopian.

Oh and I got up at 3.30 to give dd2 her inhalers. Hmm, so not a great night then!

R slept 5:55-6:15-5:00-7:40 and the boys have gone for a jog in the Forest with dp's club. I'm getting in the bath then they'll be back with something from the farm shop to roast for dinner :o

Think we will go for a walk to the castle ruins this afternoon (dd likes it there) then go to costa to warm us up. I love cold days

Hey peeps, I've had another couple of hours and feel almost human!

DS is still wailing pretty much constantly but conks out from time to time as he's so exhausted.

I've managed to get 1 bottle and 5 blueberries into him today, I'm counting it as a win!

DP is suitably chastened, I told him I was pissed off he didn't even check on us and what he said to me this morning. He apologised and said he was half dead at the time. Weren't we all

He looks a bit better Hales, he was very pale and listless before. He has his mischievous glint back. I took him for a blustery tramp around in the pram and he's now asleep. It's done me the world of good too

It should be clicking into place for quiche babies soon? We night weaned in early September then sleep trained 3-4 weeks later - so at 9 1/2 - 10-1/2 months. He's been doing a solid 6-6:30/7 ever since with one wake up for a nappy (he's teething so does occasional very smelly wees that must burn because he gets upset) I had to get the right moment to push him; after the 9m growth spurt and just after some major teething.

Checking in to new thread. Just read back through all the posts, but didn't get to 'listen' as had DS complaining the whole time.

Spotty - the train journey was good, apart from T being too stimulated to sleep. He behaved really well though, we had quite a few comments from other passengers on just how angelic he was :) We were all exhausted when we got back though, DH and I were in bed by 8!

DH has been a bit better about eating this week, but we still struggle to get much in him. Some days have been fantastic (he's eaten more than 2 teaspoons for a meal), others not so good. I'm wondering of we have a growth spurt accompanying this cold too though. He'll sleep 2 hors after a feed, but only 15-30 minutes after a cuddle to resettle. I think tonight I'm going to try feeding at every wake and see if we can get 3-4 two hour sleeps, rather than 20 wake ups and 1-2 feeds. It's frustrating though, as he's been night weaned for months.

WL (or was it Willyou?) sounds like you had a horrendous night. Really hoping for less screaming and more sleeping for all tonight. Glad DH apologised too.

Hope teeth pop through and better nights are had, and that the fever came down and poorly LO is feeling better. Did you call ooh?

Can somebody talk to me about night weaning and sleep training.

a) Do I need to do it?
b) How do I do it?

Fod you don't have to do it, completely up to you. How often is ds up?

Right that's it ds is having a party three weeks today. I've verbally booked a hall. What have I done?!

He is up at least once a night, sometimes more. He tends to sleep from round about 8ish until 2am-ish when he wakes for a feed and then goes back to sleep until 6ish if we're lucky.

A) only if you or dc are struggling with lack of sleep. I was coping and could see that R needed me, then the balance tipped and he started getting grumpy and over tired

B) pick a time and just don't feed after then. Midnight to 5am or something. Cuddle, rock, sing, anything but don't feed. Offer water - a friend of mine offered formula and her ds hated it so decided it wasn't worth waking up! For some people having daddy do nights for a few days helps because the dc doesn't associate them with milk. As soon as it gets to your morning time, latch on.

You should get results within a couple of days - if you don't, or you get prolonged hysterical crying, stop. R mumps and moans but only gets hysterical and actually cries if he needs something - calpol or bum change.
