Fatima casserole. Add onion, garlic, a tin of tomatoes and maybe some beans, herbs and yum.

Horsey I'm thinking of avoiding acidic stuff like pear, apple etc but then the dietician said ideal first foods for refluxy babies are pear, parsnip and papaya. So I'm Hmm Confused Hmm Confused Hmm Confused

Sods law it'll be the sweet potato he didn't get on with - as I have a huge freezer bag full of puree cubes of it!!!! Though sweet potato doesn't fit with the gradual erosion of sleep - the dates don't fit.

Though that could be growth spurt.

So hard to tell cause and effect with reflux.

It could be teething and nothing to do with solids.....

I give up!!!! wah next time can I have one which can eat and drink like a normal baby - must be a piece of fecking cake ESPECIALLY as I could be chocolate fuelled

Horsey I felt like my milk dipped a bit so now i'm feeding H milk before food even if he isn't demanding it, but not if i fed him to sleep and he wakes shortly after and it was time for lunch or dinner, then i wouldn't.
Am i the only one bf who has started solids?

I gave H a muslin to play with when changing his nappy,it was the BEST TOY EVER!! He loved the label and the fact that he could put it in his mouth.Funny boy!!

H doesn't seem to get on with broccoli. Loves the taste but makes him hyper!

I am grateful for the normal one that came before O!

Chick O loves muslins. The more sick mopped up the better. He sucks them. Absolutely minging. But he adores them...!

Chick we're BF and attempting solids. My sister's daughter (the 27 weeker) has lots of food intolerances which make her go hyper - potato, baby rice and sweet potato amongst others. I really hope we don't follow suit. Apparently its something they grow out of - but worth not persevering with a food that causes a reaction as it could trigger an allergy. She's been advised to attempt to reintroduce problem foods every three months.

yw seriously it's not the best here. I don't know what to do. Weaning is supposed to help happy chuckers!!!! Maybe I shouldn't give any more today?!

PetiteRaleuse · 19/04/2013 16:14

horsey you could slow it down a little. Or try something else. Banana is easy to digest though for some reason DD1 throws it up occasionally.

Horsey I've given him the day off solids. It could be teeth, solids, growth spurt or just sheer pissy bad luck / no reason whatsoever so I'm trying to remove variables....

I think the transition from milk to solids can be stressful on their stomachs - 'food being good for reflux' (whilst I'm sure its true eventually) strikes me as something HV and GPs say to get you to go away without costing the NHS a prescription. Envy

Speaking of which every single GP practice in Kirkcaldy is full and not accepting new patients. WT actual F!!!!

I think weaning in reflux can go one way or the other Horsey. It is one of the things I am worrying about.

Report
YellowWellies · 19/04/2013 16:20

Don't try banana with reflux - that's the one obvious baby food we were told to avoid for the first couple of months - it reacts with stomach enzymes in an ouchy way for sensitive bellies.

OK sorry, I didn't know that. Blush :)

ye'w I didn't know that but he refused to eat it. Actually if he seems to think it might not help him, he refuses it.

Clever little beings babies.

YW I didn't know it could cause an allergy. That's the last thing I would want.

I've just started giving S baby rice, will be trying her with root vegetables next week.

Got her a playnest on Saturday, my god do I wish I'd got it sooner, she loves it, she will sit in it for ages and actually shows interest in her toys.

That's interesting about banana - that, and apple, are the 2 things F has licked and pulled a Envy face instead of a Hmm or Smile face.

ah an easier catchup than usual!

lo has suddenly started napping longer - about an hour and 20 - but wakes up screaming seemingly in pain. glad of naps (sleep regression are you fucking off now?) but then makes me worried about this kidney stuff Confused is he poorly again etc - very sleepy feeding. total paranoia.

detective I found the nice stuff on prophylactics antibiotics and it's says not to. am gonna chat to doc on Monday and ring hospital. his thrush is not shifting and I'm only ok as taking meds.

Yep that was from the dietician. Just been chatting to my sis. Weaning made her kids reflux WORSE until about 8 months. MARVELLOUS! Envy She's suggested going back to one cube a day (after a day or two off to rest his tum) and sticking initially to the reflux holy trinity of parsnip, pear and papaya - which is an antacid. These are likely least problematic for reflux

Damn. I have carrots and sweet potato ready for cooking and freezing. Ah well, I'll have to eat them instead Grin.

I can't remember if I updated or not? But the pushchair damage caused when flying - has been paid out! New seat unit and pushchair bag arriving in next day or so!

Was so easy, no quibbles, sent pictures, they ordered parts from Cosatto, and they have been sent to me.

Quite Shock at how easy really!!!!
