oh I'm sorry stunt.

I was taught a wind trick by lactation consultant - basically you want to help them stretch out their spine as much as possible. she did it upside down on her shoulder but I do it with him laid on his back over my knee and head stretched back so he's upside down. then massage tummy clockwise very firmly. it slowly goes from hard to soft. first time g was screaming and I thought it was awful then his tummy softened and he stopped. now i do it in the night after feeds or if I think it will help and I can squeeze lots of farts out. it brings up burps too if they then go upright on shoulder and stroke back down. its taken him (and me) a bit to get used to it but now he loves it. I never got much from the colic massage routine but this helps a lot.

oops vq!

this helped us with L's constipation a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if there's any new info there for you, though

Sweetcorn makes your poo spotty.

Pennie on a Saturday morning, I take dsd and lo to the library. Dsd rides her bike or scooter, through the village, on the paths. My heart is in my mouth the whole time - so I dread to think what it will be like with LO. Not ridiculous.

YellowWellies · 16/04/2013 12:41

On the topic of the news, we've been without telly since the move as the freesat dish isn't being installed until later today - sometimes its nicer to only have radio 4. Sad

Donnadoon · 16/04/2013 12:41

Blue slush made dd1 s poo blue!! I kid you not.
I hope dd cuts her tooth soon she has been suffering bless her
Off to check out new Freds

Donnadoon · 16/04/2013 12:43

Pennie You are definitely not ridiculous ... I have already envisioned sitting outside nightclubs waiting for them at 2am.

ChasingDaisy · 16/04/2013 13:08

Bad night last night, O wouldn't settle after his 3am feed so ended up in bed with me where he slept and I didn't. He also won't be put down today. He has the odd clingy phase and he must just need the extra cuddles today.

Off to MILs again tonight where this time I shall be outnumbered 9 to 1. Fun.

Had more success with O drinking water from the sippy cup. He bloody loves the stuff, more so than milk Hmm He cried when I took it away. I imagine it is the novelty of something new.

TheDetective · 16/04/2013 13:11

Quick post Dp is downloading and internet will not fucking work twat. Woke at 4.30 for feed, up at 7.45 for day. Is in a bad refluxy mood though. But still. Sleep was had. Phew.

ChasingDaisy · 16/04/2013 13:15

I was just about to ask about your night Detective - glad sleepiness has been restored.

I have a grumpy O here too.

PetiteRaleuse · 16/04/2013 13:19

Chasing you know you don't have to go...

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/04/2013 13:19

Sorry am really behind. (A big wobbly four children behind)

I have to share....I think I shared a while ago about someone I know on fb (volunteering colleague of DH so I don't know her really well) who was giving their son one of those chicken dinner jars at 13 weeks or something. Well. The other day she shared how she gave them some homemade food. A fish dinner. The fish was a fish finger with the bread taken off. Hmm

I think next time she shares some such info I might make a non committal comment and suggest she uses the AK website for ideas. I am sad no one has supported her enough to say anything.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/04/2013 13:21

Yep ladies. All I can say is.....

SOFT PLAY

Heart leaves body and has to be checked in on arrival.

So incredibly stressful.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/04/2013 13:22

Oh and the thought that someone might be mean to any of my babies is just heartbreaking.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/04/2013 13:22

I am an actual neurotic mess. No wonder. Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 16/04/2013 13:25

Ms not right today. Very wingey and seems tired even when she's just napped. Won't be put down.

Quick Q - Ms got dry, scabby skin behind her ears in the creases and now behind her knees is red and dry. What should I put on it? Sudocreme? Or should I take her to the drs? I always make sure i dry the creases after baths etc but they still manage to get dry, sore and scaley

ValiumQueen · 16/04/2013 13:29

Yes. Soft play. Far from fucking soft.

ChasingDaisy · 16/04/2013 13:30

Fish fingers Shock

I shall have to see what inappropriate foods O's cousin is fed tonight. Everybody is very excited that he will be joining us at the table in his high chair tonight so Im sure he can expect lots of different foods shoved in his face and being laughed at when he turns his head away from them. He has had a bad case of diarrhoea apparently, but nobody has put this down to the chocolate biscuits inappropriate foods he has been eating. Poor kid.

I know PR but I have a kind of morbid fascination about what they will say or do next. I have already had a thinly veiled criticism of us putting him to bed upstairs when it reaches his bedtime rather than letting him stay up and play. One way in which I am lucky is that O's dad shares my parenting views and defends us against any criticism.

ChasingDaisy · 16/04/2013 13:31

Fatima Aveeno cream works wonders for us. Tis quite expensive though.

ValiumQueen · 16/04/2013 13:31

fatima most babies have bits like that. All you can do is ensure they are dried properly and put cream on to lubricate. The stuff behind the ear is cradle cap, the creases it is kinda sweatiness. Sometimes it can be thrush though, so just see how it goes with moisturiser.

ValiumQueen · 16/04/2013 13:33

I must get some Aveeno cream. It sounds awesome.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/04/2013 13:44

I don't normally go for funny cat things but this one is ace

Sophiathesnowfairy · 16/04/2013 13:45

Aveeno every time mateys

ChasingDaisy · 16/04/2013 13:47

I panic about running out of it now VQ. Magic stuff.
