First waking for us. I also have acid indigestion. Must be in sympathy.

DD is doing ok after her extraction. Although it was horrid it made me grateful she is fit and well. Many children and parents go through much much worse. Afterward she said 'I wish that hadn't happened Mummy'.

Clarella · 16/04/2013 03:43

oh poor dd valium Sad I was in knots over the tt snip. I friend's daughter (3) has cleft lip and palette and recurrent glue ear on top - lots of ops since birth and in the future. I've always known its hard and her older sister (6) gets stressed about it too but now I know exactly how a tiny percent of it feels.

chucking buckets of sleepy dust to you kirrin and izzy

a 2 hour sleep and a feed, has been gassy and writhy fir last half hour but has at least stayed in cot and not cried - just a hand hold! plus watched monitor light show for a bit (first time) AND WENT TO SLEEP twice and with hand held but NO BOBBING OR BOOB which I couldn't do as covered in cream Grin Grin

probably spoke to soon, mind Hmm

kirrinIsland · 16/04/2013 03:44

Poor DD VQ :( Glad she's ok.

Third feed here. Shit night, as predicted

kirrinIsland · 16/04/2013 03:46

Thanks clarella and well done miniclarella :)

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 16/04/2013 05:36

Well, looks like the day started at 5am - sleepy Grin

The news is awful. The news is often too awful to contemplate. As a species, we seem to have the most terrible capacity for cruelty and destruction. Sad

Lily311 · 16/04/2013 06:18

Morning quiche,

Sleeping on sofa bed worked. For both of us. She slept from 6.45-6.15, only waking at 1 for a feed. One happy lady and one happy baby here.

Bryzoan · 16/04/2013 06:28

Poor warrior princess vq. What abrave little darling.

Another rubbish night here. So tired that changing a pooplosion just now I got one arm and one leg in each of the babygrow arm anglers holes without noticing.

I am grateful that my parents aren't running the boron marathon this yr. Horrible.

I am also grateful that 2 days intoditching dairy g's skin has cleared up - hoping his tummy will improve soon too - and that he will magically start sleeping again.

What have those of you with cmpibeen advised re weaning? How long to leave it before trying to introduce dairy?

Lily311 · 16/04/2013 06:29

Just read the news, awful, awful. I am so glad I have no tv licence, the footage must be horrendous. Poor little mites in the uk and poor Marathon runners and spectators.

Bryzoan · 16/04/2013 06:30

Arm and leg holes and Boston marathon. Brain and fingers both too tired to function. G is full of beans though. Bugger.

Titsalinabumsquash · 16/04/2013 06:45

Help! J hadn't pooed in 2 days! He's really been constipated and struggling since starting weaning. I've bicycled the legs like mad and massaged his tummy and put him in a warm bath.
He did the mother of all giant poos 2 nights ago, it was solid and he was shaking and crying getting it out but now nothing for 2 days and he's still eating and drinking loads!

YellowWellies · 16/04/2013 06:55

Morning! first waking here GTFI and please go back to bed bear. Bryzoan we have been told for me to do a dairy test at ten months by me eating it to see if it affects him via my milk and not to give it to him directly until at least a year. In both instances we've been told to introduce once in a small quantity, stop and observe for three days before trying again, making sure not to try when ill, teething or with other new foods which could confuse the result. I've also been told to try the same process with soy at 8 months.

VQ I got your emails about clothes - thanks so much Smile but due to crappy WiFi hotspot / phone combo I can't see the pics - will respond when our proper broadband is set up. Just wanted you to know I got the messages. Thanks so much xx

I have started a new thread asking for November 2012 mummies to give an update on how things are going (as requested by PR). I thought a separate thread would make it easier to keep up with and we can keep our ongoing discussions on this thread. So please pop over and give a brief update on life with a five(ish)-month-old baby.

I have also started a Chat thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1733470-Did-you-have-a-baby-in-November-2012 to try and lure some people in so we will need to keep it bumped up the list.

Morning all. Good night here. Hope DD's tooth or now non-tooth is OK. I find these things always hurt a bit more the day after Flowers

Is it at least a good excuse for some ice lollies or a slushy drink (do they still exist?)

PetiteRaleuse · 16/04/2013 07:43

Great idea stunt re the separate threads will go over and have a peek

Pikz · 16/04/2013 07:53

Ah blue raspberry slush puppies!

Clarella · 16/04/2013 08:11

sodding antibiotics. have to be given after 2am or baby does not sleep from tummy cramps. Angry what annoys me is he is probably completely well. its precautionary till scans done. which take 3 months. Angry

still, grateful to have my family and friends and a dp working at uni today who gave me an extra hour.

ValiumQueen · 16/04/2013 08:18

Blue slush puppies make your poo green.

DD is not too bad but I am keeping her home today. I want to observe her for 24 hours and she had it done late yesterday afternoon. She is reading your messages Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 16/04/2013 08:33

Good job it's not sweary Wednesday then :)

Passmethecrisps · 16/04/2013 08:50

Beetroot makes your poo red

LuisGarcia · 16/04/2013 08:58

Titsalinabumsquash What solids has J had?

BigPigLittlePig · 16/04/2013 09:07

I'm a bit scared of what might happen when F starts solids. Things are already a bit hit and miss on the poo front.

detective does overnight silence mean you were sleeping, or wailing/rocking in a corner?

Titsalinabumsquash · 16/04/2013 09:11

He has only fruit and veg atm, carrots, prunes, squash, peas broccoli, pears, apples.
He only has some for breakfast and is still breastfed the rest of the time. He hasn't had any banana because I know it can bind them up.
Someone has suggested called boiled water to drink to see if that helps so I'll try it when he wakes up. I haven't given him solids this morning mainly because I'm worried it's just adding to the build up in there!

StuntNun · 16/04/2013 09:14

The latest thing the kids do is to mix the Slush Puppies. Nobody has blue any more you have to have half blue half red. At Legoland they had a cart with a rainbow of different colours and all the kids wanted a bit of each.

We had another rough night here. J has been waking frequently through the night for the past few days. I think it might be trapped wind again as he seems to be in pain. I don't think it's teething as he doesn't have any other signs.

I had to contact the dog breeder to say we wouldn't be able to take the puppy after all. Confused DH said he wouldn't stand in my way but he didn't think it was a good idea and he would reserve the right to say 'I told you so' when the pup was pooing on the carpet or chewing something he shouldn't. So no support there. It's a shame as I had it all planned out for managing baby and puppy together and I really think I could have made it work but without his support it's not going to happen. I mean of course the pup is going to have accidents and chew stuff, that's what they do. He can tell the boys though, DS1 is going to be devastated. And I've lost my deposit too. Hmm
