Good idea to write everything down Vq , I hope you find some solutions soon.

I also have a sore head from seeing how much fun shaking it is. There's even a clicky noise in my head if I do it fast enough. Is it my eyes rattling? Or is my brain shrinking with age and knocking about the inside of my skull? :o

YellowWellies · 10/04/2013 12:01

So plus net won't be connecting broadband to our new house til the 23rd!!!! Wah Shock so book recommendations please or else the night feeds will kill me. What books have you loved recently?

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 12:03

What kind of books do you like yw ? If you want something spooky I saw Dark Matter being recommended today. I'm trying to work through my backlog of books I will never again have the time to read. But stuck on the parenting lot at the mo so I can take them back to the UK and sell them

YellowWellies · 10/04/2013 12:15

PR thanks - spooky is good, as are mysteries, adventures - not so keen on chick lit. As long as its well written I like any page turner.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 12:23

There's a thread in Adult Fiction at the mo recommending spooky books. I put Dark Matter on my wishlist but have to read The Woman In White and several others first.

A book I read recently which I loved was Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier. It is brilliant. Had only read Rebecca by her in the past. Am trying to get past the first page of My Cousin Rachel at the moment but children are getting in the way.

Winter in Madrid by C J Samson is good but I found very hard to get into. It's a historical drama /mystery. Some of his books were very cheap on kindle recently. And the Life of Pi was going for 20p. I bought it, it is in my to read pile on both kindle and paperback, because I had forgotten I already had it.

Jeffrey Archer isn't a bad author surprisingly enough. Mass market but easy reading and generally mystery type things.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 12:24

Here is the thread i mentioned: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/adult_fiction/1677794-Ghost-stories-I-loved-Dark-Matter-what-else-to-try

YellowWellies · 10/04/2013 12:25

Woo I love CJ Sansom's Shardlake books... will go check out that thread ta!

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 12:27

Knew I had spelt it wrong :o
I haven't read the Shardlake Series; it is on my to buy list, once I have worked through my to read and to reread lists.

YellowWellies · 10/04/2013 12:33

Probably read historical fiction as much as anything... hmmm will go and have a browse thank eee

MaMaPo · 10/04/2013 12:36

yw, I really liked The Art of Fielding despite not knowing about or being interested in baseball. For something heavier but really amazing, Alone in Berlin is about ordinary people resisting the nazis during ww2. Written in 1946 by a man who'd just lived through it.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 12:48

An interesting WW2 book about Paris is Suite Francaise by Irene Nemerovski (sp?) it is unfinished though as I think she was captured during the writing.

Kyzordz · 10/04/2013 12:59

Where's all the twatting swearing? Time to sit and read Fred now, am as knackered as a knackered thing

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 13:08

Fuckity fuckity fuck fuck fuck?

Yay, another three ounces downed here.

MaMaPo · 10/04/2013 13:08

You know you're having a fucking shitful day when the man in the cafe brings over extra napkins because you're crying onto your coffee. I want an entire 24 hours off.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 13:11

mama that fucking well sucks Flowers

(Swearing for kyz )

MaMaPo · 10/04/2013 13:18

I am doing most of my swearing today in real life.

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 13:21

Another 2oz. Since midnight she has eaten more already than she did the whole of yesterday.

Is this it? Are we reaching the end of the nightmare? By Sunday's sun will she be fit and well?

PetiteRaleuse · 10/04/2013 13:23

Tying to get an appointment to have my winter tyres removed. Bye bye winter, off you fuck.

fruitpastilles · 10/04/2013 13:35

Woohoo, yay pr fc this is the end of all the cunting illness in the pr house!

Hugs mama hope you aren't feeling too shitty.

I've currently got a lo lying on the settee who was asleep when I put her there 2 fucking minutes ago wide awake kicking me in the side and laughing hysterically at it. I've just noticed she's sucking her thumb in between kicks as well, hope she knocks that on the head soon, as cute as it is to look at.

Kyzordz · 10/04/2013 13:50

Righty ho, a fucking catchup

chasing no idea, is his bum getting sore or anything?

pr glad LO is seeming better and drinking more

Hope your Edinburgh trip goes well pass and feeding on the train is ok :) maybe go by p with the last feed, if she stirs, feed her but if she is sound asleep see how she goes? I thought pissflaps last night as e started to stir at about 10:30, but next thing you know I woke up and it was 3am so he wasnt that hungry clearly or I'm deaf

yw I felt mean too giving water and not milk but I went on the basis of that if he WAS hungry he would not settle. Next time I woke was 7am, so he settled and he'd only had an oz. since you feed him twice I dont think it would be awful to see if he'll have the water at one feed :) feel free to tell me to poke my pokey fucking nose out ESP since I should be the last person offering advice

Oh mama that is wanking twatting ball suckingly shitty :( hugs. Need a rant? Have a fucking rant, go on,

pr yay for pissing swearing and double ooh yeah for more milk! What a little star :) fc she is well for Sunday's supposed sun

fruit Eric does thumb sucking, the more I have taken it out the more determined he is to suck it back in, so I'd leave her to it since apparently lemon juice on the thumb is not a suitable suggestion

I have cleaned the cocking house! And I would tell you e has drank quite well today but I wouldn't want to make him stop so I'm not going to mention it.

I didn't swear very much myself did I? Shitting hell. Will try especially cunting hard on any future twatting posts today

fruitpastilles · 10/04/2013 14:05

kyz I'm really mean, I never feed S before 7am, obviously I would if I knew for sure she was hungry, normally she just grizzles for a dummy or a cuddle or for no fucking reason at all her last bottles is 9oz greedy girly so she can't be hungry.

ValiumQueen · 10/04/2013 14:11

kyz you need to stop fucking putting your fucking self down all the fucking time (too tired to be creative in my swearing) you are fucking wonderful and a fucking good mummy, and a fucking important person on this fucking thread. Now, where did that fucking fish fuck off to?

Took DD1 to the dentist and she will lose the tooth. The abscess is not responding to treatment. They are removing it next Monday under local. Something to fucking look forward to. She looked at Js lip tie and does not think it will pose any problems from a dental POV.

J seems a bit better today. Nights will always be worse I guess until his milk is sorted, but it was every 1.5 hours last night so I am a tad weary. He is only having about 3oz at a time, preferring my boob, and coughing, vomiting, windy, and his skin is getting worse. He is being very brave and loved the attention he got at the Dentist (in his pink fleece all-in-one) I am feeling a smidgen better today too.

ChasingDaisy · 10/04/2013 14:12

mama you ok? Feel free to rant if it will help.

Sounds good PR, definitely moving in the right direction. Will be thinking of you on Sunday and hoping you manage to enjoy the nice weather.

VQ along with Detective you are the person I am most sure is capable of fighting for what your baby needs. You are taking the right approach, detailing everything and taking time for your emotions to calm down so I have everything crossed for too.

kyz his bum does look a bit sore and he whimpers when he farts. pass suggested teething which would make sense as he is dribbling LOADS. If E were to be drinking better, not saying that he is of course, then I would be very pleased to hear it and might also tell you that O fed very well yesterday and infact drank more than he ever has in a day. But I shan't tell you that as it will only jinx things.

MIL has just been to visit O. She always criticises something. Today, it is that I don't let O see enough different people as he cried as soon as he saw her. Never mind that he has a better social life than me and she is the only person he cries at probably because she gets right up in his face speaking loudly . Also I shouldn't let him lay on his flat spot...yeah ok you try and get a baby to sleep on one side of his head Hmm All of this said through O of course..."oh mummy needs to let you see more people doesn't she?" etc etc ... and then some more stuff in Mandarin that obviously I couldn't understand.

Oh fuck, a MIL rant and I forgot it was sweary Wednesday. What a fucking wasted opportunity.

ValiumQueen · 10/04/2013 14:13

Oh, and I am withholding solids today as I am sure they have made matters worse the last couple of days. Shame as he fucking loves pear.

ValiumQueen · 10/04/2013 14:18

chasing swearing is taken as given when ever any MIL is mentioned. Especially yours Grin

Thank you for your kind encouraging words about seeing the medics. I will go with the power of the quiche behind me.

You are sounding a lot brighter, even though life is still really fucked up for you. Do you feel that is the case? Are you getting any dark thoughts still?
