PR- all I know is that you can't make babies drink. Just offer as much as you can.

Clarella · 09/04/2013 20:21

oh god amoxycillin poos. could they count as ime mostly water?

Clarella · 09/04/2013 20:30

no rash but I can't believe how amazing aveeno cream is for dry sore skin. you can get it on prescription. or vaseline.

well we kept it calm and lo took a bottle whoo hoo! only 30 .ml of ebm but he was happy to do so. then a little bit of breast but then full. a short rock (we're focussing on stress free bedtime for him and us) and he's sparko. Dh is being a star after being a plonker last weekand is sitting with the new tablet in bed next to g in his cot with a bottle standing by. I've got till 12 so off for a sleep Grin .

cinderella might go to the capoeira ball in 2 weeks and maybe yogaGrin Grin

I didn't know there was a doghouse on .mn. bet my mum hangs out there. Hmm

Evening peeples.

What a lovely day! The sun shone. Non-sleeping babies slept. Non-eating babies ate. Mums ate cake and meatballs and wine gums.

It was awesome. Great to see you all again ladeez.

Fellow swaddlers, lend me your ears. I am getting concerned about swaddling P now. She is becoming quite expert in rolling over and I am very concerned about her doing this when swaddled. How long do you plan to swaddle for and how do you intend weaning them off it?

I decided I would have a wee shot at putting P in a sleeping bag tonight. Didn't go so well. She just never stops flinging her arms around. 40 minutes on she was getting irate so I gave up. Within 5 minutes of having the swaddle on she was asleep. What do I do? I have some ideas from the lovely VQ but I would like more thoughts.

My other query is about bottles in a day. Currently P had 6 bottles a day with one at 10pm which we wake her up for. For the last week P has been refusing completely at least one bottle a day. I am worried about her weight but nothing I can do will make her drink what she doesn't want. So, what are people's thoughts on not waking P for the 10pm bottle? I will wake her to tonight because she refused her pre-bedtime bottle. I am interested in hearing what people think.

pass i put O on her tummy when finished swaddling. She just wouldn't sleep on her back. I bought a movement monitor at that point. No advice about swaddling, i stopped when O was 6 weeks old.

As for bottle. O is down to 5 a day. She used to have 6 but now missing one. She does take around 33oz a day. I don't wake her but the last couple of nights she wakes 7fucking times.

jaylee89 · 09/04/2013 20:47

Hello ladies I haven't posted in about 5 months. I have been trying to keep up I promise :).

Elanna is 5 months on Thursday and can't believe how fast the bloody time flies!!!

Anyone thinking about having more soon?? I can honestly say I am getting broody!
I must be mental!!!

Elanna has been going to bed at 7 since 6 weeks and not waking up till half 7 in morning sometimes she wakes up later. I can't believe how lucky I've been. She's such a happy baby and her chuckle brings years to my eyes. My eldest DD loves being a big sister and helps mummy all the time!! I feel so blessed!

I hope everyone is well and enjoying their little beans!! :)

YellowWellies · 09/04/2013 20:52

Can't help with the bottles pass but we've just weaned Jonas from swaddle to grobag in the last month. Our first night was as you describe - wee leggies running a marathon, flailing arms conducting an orchestra and energetic panting from the crib as he realised he could MOVE! For us it was hell and we shelved the idea for a week.

Gradually though he was getting pissy and pissier waking up in the morning unable to nom his hands - sooo we swaddled him in his usual fleece swaddle but after the middle of the night feed I'd unswaddle his arms and wrap the swaddle under his arm pits instead freeing his hands for the second part of the night. We did this for a week (obviously the first night he kept twatting himself in the face)- gradually slackening the tension around his tummy until it was no different to a grobag. Now he won't be swaddled even when ill.

Pikz · 09/04/2013 20:53

Evening campers!

I too am gutted about lack of hotdog photo!

I went to work for the day... It was fun but I missed LO a lot! Lovely to feel like the old me a little bit for the day!

Am knackered and in bed... Praying for another sleep through and then tomorrow I must get weaning plan in place.

Pass I have no advice but send hugs and dung

Thanks To all x

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/04/2013 20:56

Yes clarella I use Aveeno on all the family! I have tried popping some Vaseline on it tonight though as I think when it gets wet it exacerbates it.

pr hope things perk up before DH goes away.

My first day back at workmy first European trip in the diary, to Arnhem in Holland. Not till June so I am hoping nothing else gets squeezed in before then. I have managed not to take back the European project which is a bt like a boys club tour of major European cities, 2 days each month. So I am left with the Dutch and the French. Hope to keep the travel down now.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/04/2013 21:00

pass i would keep the 10 bottle, personally, until wee P is weened. We have 5 bottles. 07:00, 10:45ish (which is getting smaller as the lunches get bigger), 2, 6 and 10. (I like that you have wee P as we have Wee Wiilie (William, poor child))

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 09/04/2013 21:03

We're in the same boat with the swaddle pass. I've put B down once for a nap without a swaddle and she slept for 30mins, she normally has about 2 hours. Whenever she wakes in the night it is usually because she has bust out of her swaddle. I'm just going to keep swaddling until we really have to stop, dd1 was swaddled until she was about 9 months!

As for the feeds, B was having six feeds a day including a dream feed at 10.30. She was messing about at some of the feeds so yesterday I fed her four hourly instead, this reduced the number of feeds to five in total. She slept brilliantly last night!

StuntNun · 09/04/2013 21:11

Pass I'd try dropping the dream feed, it's worth a try. IMO sometimes the dream feed can ruin their deep sleep in the evening and that can have a knock on effect on the rest of the night. If you get a night wake up then keep going with the dream feed for a bit longer.

Jaylee my J has slept through once and I'm already thinking about the ext one! I had a section though so have to wait at least nine months. Not to mention convincing DH it's a good idea which will never happen.

sophia rash under neck here too, which comes and goes. He is a dribbler and very slack on the bottle too which does not help. DD1 had the same, but DD2 never did - she had a patch on her cheek instead. He also has a similar rash on his thighs which have not responded to thrush cream so I am wondering if it is anything to do with CMPI now. I did ask the GP and HV two weeks ago but they said no, it was thrush. Hmm.

I have gained a dining room and lost a husband to it apparently. He is sitting in the dining room reading, and I am in the lounge on the iPad. I am going to sod off to bed and see if he notices.

Passmethecrisps · 09/04/2013 21:16

Interesting, interesting!

toomany what is your routine if you don't mind me asking?

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 09/04/2013 21:19

pass- 7am, 11am, 2pm, 6pm, 10pm (df)

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 09/04/2013 21:21

Sorry, got that wrong!

7, 11, 3, 7, 10.30 (df)

I was getting confused with my previous routine.

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/04/2013 21:22

How bloody ridiculous, because J has literally gone from a hyper baby squealing at the top of his voice to a snoring, fast asleep baby in his travel cot. I'm now worrying about him so I can't sleep Confused
He has NEVER done this, only time he's gone in a cot is his at home after being fed and transferred asleep.

This is his travel cot, I put him in there to play while I got my pjs on, he was wide awake. It took me less than a minute and he's zonked and snoring. Please give me a slap! We're in the hospital fgs, it's not like he's in any danger just not tucked up with me like I'm used to.

ValiumQueen · 09/04/2013 21:26

Slaps tits lovingly with the now rancid quiche fish. Go to sleep while you can x

BigPigLittlePig · 09/04/2013 21:26

Tits make the most of it! Quite possibly because hospitals are hotter than the sun quite warm and sleep inducing.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/04/2013 21:28

WaS he overtired tits ? They can sometimes get hyper when knackered then just as you think they're about to explode they zonk out. DD1 does this. A lot. When we miss the sleepy cues. Most nights atm.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/04/2013 21:30

Up to 12 oz. ok, less than half, more than a third. She's finding life hikarious right now and kicking me very energetically between coughs.

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/04/2013 21:32

Yes to overtired, the little bugger angel hasn't slept since this morning.

He's discovered that he can squeal, loudly and so high pitched that my ears and soul die a bit each time. He's decided babbling like he used to is way less fun so now squealing is his method of communication. Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 09/04/2013 21:35

Today, F had been awake, bar 30 minutes, since 7am. When we left baby group at 3pm, she was asleep in her pram before we had even left the building. Never seen anything like it!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/04/2013 21:40

vq O's is on his face and it moves around. Nursery said lots of children have it but I was worried in case it was a reaction to something. It is defo worse with dribble and, like you say dribbled milk. And by morning is pretty much completely gone.

Passmethecrisps · 09/04/2013 21:44

Be chilled tits! Enjoy it!

Thanks toomany. Currently we do 7:30, 10:30, 1:30, 4:30, 6:30 and 10. I wonder if pushing each one back slightly thus dropping one from the day would mean she took each one better? The problem is that the start of the day usually works well but it is the final few that she refuses.

PR I hope LO gets a better appetite soon. Glad your dog is okay as well. Better weather will surely help. How is the kitty?
