November 2012 - Four months? Oh no, the dreaded sleep regression!

Instead of marking place, please could those of us with older siblings post something (positive) they are looking forward to as our babies get older. I think it would cheer us up since so many are struggling at the moment.

Right J has been boobed to sleep. We are going upstairs to attempt cot transfer. I have posted my poor broken phone away to be repaired so hopefully in a week I will have night time access to here. And I'm ever hopeful that in a week I won't need it cos he will be sleeping at night rather than being awake!!

Thanks contra I bought a Nuk bottle today in preparation for when this happens again. When I tried to give her some ebm earlier I discovered I only have the little bottles with size 1 teats. Got her to feed eventually when she was sleepy and she's had a few feeds now and is snoozing happily in her cot, babies eh - if only they could talk to us and tell us what is up with them Smile

detective I seem to remember that ringing a bell with me as I asked the GP and was told no. It was when he had blood in his poo and mucous. Mucous continues but no more blood. Hope formula will not make it worse. Oh well, nowt I can do the noo.

Better night tonight, thanks. J hasn't peeped, and L has been much calmer so far.

J pointed out of the window yesterday and said "ice". I know it's not exactly on topic, but he has verbal dyspraxia and it made me so proud, and that was what stunt wanted.

Poor J has been awake over an hour and is in pain. Just vommed a very acidic vom. Had to crack open a 6-18 gro bag and he looks teeny. Yes, fat boy looks teeny. I have more patience with him and me tonight. Something is not right. This is not normal. Poor little sod.

Babies and fatness is quite a complicated thing I think. There is so much said about childhood obesity and I find people can be really quite horrid about my kids being fat babies. My girls are perfectly in proportion but DD2 was 10lb 3 at birth. She had no chin. She looked like buddha. My mum even was quite rude about her, and is about J, so I call him fat boy before others do, as a kind of protective thing. I am made to feel it is my fault. izzy has a lovely big baby and has had a lot of pressure fron her HV to cut back and he is ebf!

Anyway, I should be asleep.

Things are pretty bad here, I'm assuming it's sleep regression as J is 17 weeks tomorrow but he won't even sleep for an hour day or night now and after four months of poor sleep it's taking a toll. My MIL took him yesterday and I got a 75 minute nap but realistically that's a drop in the ocean of accumulated sleep debt. DH is in Austria on business atm so I thought things might be easier with being able to co-sleep, but no it's not helping the frequent wakenings. Looking at the wonder weeks there might be another couple of weeks of this before it gets better - I so hope they're wrong.

...Late now but i put a hot water bottle in L's cot which seems to help the transition from warm mummy to bed.

L loves swimming. Second all advice on here. Never used inflatables or anything, just play about together.

4 hours so not a bad start. Just hope she settles again easily.

stunt Thanks and Brew You must be just shattered. Do you have any clue as to why he won't sleep? No sleep at all can't be healthy for either of you. Nice that your mil took him for a bit but can no one take him for a bit longer? When is your DH back? I wish I knew what to do to help you :(

Luis Well done to j for saying 'ice' - it's those moments that make the tough bits worth it 10x over.

Poor miniVQ I hope he's settled now and that he gets a good sleep.
I was one of those who referred to j as huge on FB. I hope I haven't offended you or hurt your feelings? I did mean his overall size, not that he was fat, and he is clearly happy and thriving which is testament to the excellent care he is getting from you. Sorry Thanks

hi ladies, sorry not been around much. hello to all mummies and babies, especially those not feeling so good.

Paed appointment tomorrow, check whether we can up ranitidine dosage or move to Losec, bastard reflux Sad . GP appointment for me on Monday as it looks like I may have post natal anxiety, or potentially mild pnd Sad . that's why I haven't been around much, finding it hard to have anything to say! Went to see a counsellor on Monday and cried, it was all just too muchShock and it has all been a bit traumatic.
