I'm a science teacher too chunky Smile

Good luck purple, the big thing ofsted look for in an outstanding lesson is progress. Where were the pupils at the beginning of the lesson? what progress have they made? How will progression be demonstrated?

I've just taken Bronwen for her first jabs, she properly screamed and cried real tears Sad. She is 9 weeks today, 11lb 4oz and wears size 2 nappies. She's still fits newborn clothes from mothercare, 0-3 are too long in the legs! I've measured and she's on the 9th centile for length but 50th for weight!

Hope you're better soon VQ

PetiteRaleuse · 05/02/2013 10:56

Right temperature has gone right back down. But that is to do with the paracetamol, but good anyway. Seems happy enough.

BigPigLittlePig · 05/02/2013 11:10

We don't have bubble eating here yet but she will lick anything within licking distance. Usually a choice of me, sling or blanket Hmm

TheDetective · 05/02/2013 11:24

He's sleeping on me. I forgot to put the swing put before he fell asleep. Am too used to someone being around to do it! Now I'm stuck! He will wake if I put him anywhere else!

Erm. I'll just sit here surrounded by silence for the next hour then! Duuuuh!

Was gonna have breakfast. It will have to be lunch now instead!

gardenpixie32 · 05/02/2013 11:30

The girls passports have finally arrived! Now we need a nice holiday!

StuntNun · 05/02/2013 11:30

Detective I'm sure that makes sense to someone less sleep deprived than me. Don't even ask me about last night, I was this close to putting him downstairs in the Moses basket to sleep.

We have two inches of snow Sophia so trudged happily through it to take the boys to school.

Can't remember what else I was going to say. Did I mention I was tired? Hope things improve for you PR, you must be due a lottery win or something by now?

Trip to Lux Pennie ?

I need to get passport done for trip to UK. What a faff.

FatimaLovesBread · 05/02/2013 12:12

I need to send off for Ms passport, also need to send off for my own. Best find the marriage certificate.
There's a website that if you take a photo of your DC against a white background then upload it, they make it in to a passport photo. I think they relax the rules a bit for baby passports

TheTiger · 05/02/2013 12:15

detective I'm trying to do something similar by making sure he gets all his feeds in from 7am - 11pm. Except last night his last feed was 8pm so I went to bed with him and let him wake for his feed himself instead of dream feeding at 11 and he went til 1.30! Then had another feed at 6.30. let's not talk about the hours in between of fussing, hitting himself, hitting me, crying, wriggling, etc, etc

PR hope your DD is better? I think with a temp like that I would get LO checked out. Although I'm sure Dr will say its viral!

VQ hope you feel better soon too.

pass DS eats anything that comes anywhere near his hands or mouth. He seems to especially enjoy chomping on a muslin!

I have the Braun thermoscan too, it's what we use at work. You don't need to use a new cover every time if using it on the same person!

Those who are looking at holidays, where are you going? Abroad or UK? I would love a holiday but the thought of all the baby crap stuff we would need to take puts me off. Please tell me how you are planning on doing it!

ValiumQueen · 05/02/2013 12:26

Waiting in dr surgery. Left baby with the husband with two tails. I swear he has grown a foot since passing his test. He has been out all morning just driving and getting used to it. He is doing really well. I am very proud. He is taking it to work this afternoon. He is not taking the kids anywhere yet as wants to be more confident and I am happy with that.

I feel like shit. Hoping I do not need antibiotics as I tend to feel ill on them. Most likely though. Last night I had a couple of episodes when I could not catch my breath. Both times just sitting feeding J. Both girls at school and nursery so having a bit of a rest.

capedcrusader25 · 05/02/2013 12:29

Max Spielman horsey? They do them.
pidj don't forget SEN kids! Dyslexia, asd, spld, etc.
Look after yourself vq!

ValiumQueen · 05/02/2013 12:29

I have the thermoscan braun thing. The other day I took Js temp and it said 39. I then took it with the digital and it said 34. J was hot to touch and very distressed so just had to use my initiative. Very frustrating. I find the braun is good on the bigger kids but always do it twice. I reuse the caps on the same person and if it gives an odd reading, removing and replacing cap can help it sort itself out.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/02/2013 12:30

I felt like that when I had my bronchitis VQ. Glad you're getting checked out.

Stunt can you put in a word with the lottery gods? I won 2? last night. Two piddly euros. Can't even buy a pack of baby paracetamol suppositories with that.

ValiumQueen · 05/02/2013 12:32

PR do you rate the baby pcm suppositories? They cost an arm and a leg over here. I always forget to ask for a prescription. Thankfully J is pretty good at meds, but I remember it being a nightmare with middle child.

BigPigLittlePig · 05/02/2013 12:43

Sorry to hear so many of you are ill - I hope you can manage to snatch a few hours rest. Good luck at the doctors vq
Good luck with the lesson plan pidg

It's raining/snowing/everything in between here, and I have to walk to baby group. Would usually put LO in the sling BUT can't find a brolly. So the proper pram bit is getting its first outing - it's huge tanklike but has a raincover.

Piglet has added to her pig-noise repertoire with piggy squeals of delight when on her playmat - I'm not sure who was more surprised, me or her!

gardenpixie32 · 05/02/2013 12:46

I hope you feel better soon VQ. What rotten luck you've been having.

Tiger we are planning to take the twins either to my parents in Greece or to visit my sister in the USA. I think that is the key, visiting family so they can prepare things for your arrival. I will only need to take the girls and a few of their things. Have decided to go to Greece in the summer so they girls can have some nice hot weather and go swimming. My sisters husband is from Corfu & they have a holiday home their. My parents live in Athens, near the sea thankfully as Athens in summer is almost unbearable in the heat. I can't go alone as each baby needs an adult so DP will come with us for a couple of weeks then he will need to come back to work. My mum will have to fly back with us. Such a hassle and costs necessary money.

Fatima, they are more lenient with baby passport photos, for example, they can have their eyes closed but their faces still have to be a full frontal and the size of the head has to be a certain size within the photo itself. Hope that makes sense!

PetiteRaleuse · 05/02/2013 12:48

Yes I do - they aren't expensive here, in fact I'm still on the same pack they gave me at the clinic when I gave birth (we get sent home with essentials). Easy to administer, fast acting, doesn't go into the stomach and can't be spat out. I'll use them until she's about 9-12 months.

FatimaLovesBread · 05/02/2013 12:59

That does make sense, thanks garden. I think I'm going to go with the website as they scale and crop it so its the correct size etc and means I can do it at home. I'll try find the site.

It's snowing again here! And at 1pm I have got nothing done apart from feed and play.

DonnaDoon · 05/02/2013 13:01

Hi all
Does anybody know the likelihood of DarceyDoon catching chickenpox off my mum....? Had a lovely afternoon with mum on Saturday and mum just phoned to say that she is covered head to foot in shingles today. Doctor said there is a chance she could catch it...just a case of waiting and seeing.
She is due to have her 3rd lot of jabs tomorrow so might hold off until next week incase she breaks out in them too.
In other news we have a 4 month sleep regression here..after sleeping 10-5 for weeks she fed at 1-3-5 and7 last night..oh well at least I'm b/feeding and co/sleeping so I don't feel too tired yet.

Evilwater · 05/02/2013 13:06

Well jabs done. N is asleep on me. I've given calpol as he seemed to be in pain. So I'm stuck.

I phoned one nursey, and there is a 12 month waiting list for the baby room. I have a appointment with the nearest to the hospital.

TheDetective · 05/02/2013 13:28

Thanks for that link Fatima I need to get them done for the trip to my Dads in April. Need to get my skates on and get it done.

Seems Oscar has been reading mumsnet. He demanded his feed just before 3 hours were up. I should have more faith in the boy! I always think the worst, and he always surprises me. Like I made lunch, I thought he would no doubt scream while I was making and/or eating it. No, he happily entertained himself on the bloody changing mat!

Blizzard again! BRRRR!

I've just added up what we have to spend on the cars at the end of this month - 2 lots of tax due, and my MOT. I would like to cry! A lot! I am praying it passes its MOT. But I have never had a car pass an MOT. So, yeah, not gonna happen is it!

Why are the days just flying by? Yet little seems to be achieved in them! All those hours stretching ahead of you, but they just disappear!

TheDetective · 05/02/2013 13:32

I KNEW I WAS RIGHT!!

I've been whinging for weeks over Oscars clothes not smelling as nice as they did when he was in the first size clothing. I went and got his clothes out just to sniff them Blush and I was right, they had a lovely fabric softner smell. DP swears we are using the same softner. I was sure we were not. I got the one I thought it might be, and I was right! We now have gorgeous smelling clothes again! MMMMMMM!

Oh, and even better, although I'm not sure how fabric softner could make this difference, but the clothes have dried without needing ironing. His first size stuff didn't need ironing, but his bigger stuff has, I put it down to the clothes just being bigger Confused. But it seems not!

So, screw you Comfort, and hello Lenor!!

PetiteRaleuse · 05/02/2013 13:37

Detective since when have any baby clothes needed ironing unless you'e selling them on ebay ?
