who recommended the pram website? i cant find the link, i have looked through all of todays chat :(

Elizadoesdolittle · 06/02/2013 22:29

det have you looked at the uppababy cruz? I wish I had done my research properly before buying the quinny buzz for DD1. I'm only using it for the carry cot bit. As soon as E is big enough (2016 at this rate) i will be going back to the bjcm which I love. It's not rear facing though. Or I think Fatima mentioned the versa which looks good too. I've only skim read the thread so apologies if these are way off the mark.

I'm quite sweary at times. Have been toning it down as I really don't want DD1 swearing. I was coming down the stairs yesterday and I heard her say "I can't get this bloody boot on". Was quite relived it wasn't the f word which she has been known to say. She's 3 Shock

TheDetective · 06/02/2013 22:47

Thanks! I'm going to have to go to more pram shops! Have been to Mcare, toys r us, pramworld so far. Hmm

Will investigate all options! If it's more than £200 it's gonna have to be a 2nd hand one though!

VQ yup, it's defo the law! I had a Mclaren with DS1! It was a quest. I loved it actually!

I'm trying to remember all the prams I had with DS1. I think I had a Graco Mirage travel system, then got a Paul Vogel (mums with older ones might rememeber these!), then I think I got a mothercare jive, then a cosatto (don't remember model!) then a mothercare urban detour - absolutely loved this one! Then I think I got a Mclaren quest after that - cats pissed on urban detour, destroyed!! Then I got a Quinny Zapp. I think that was all of them. I think I had 3 jives though over time. I always kept a really small one I wasn't arsed about giving the childminder! I'm sure I had 11. I can't remember the missing ones... Hmmmmm!

I'm gonna be in for a crap night. He fell asleep at 8, woke at 10, fed, now back asleep and I'm about to put him in the basket. He only took half the bottle though so I'm sure he'll wake several times and then decide to get up at 6 or something :(

TheDetective · 06/02/2013 22:49

Since 4.30, he has been awake a grand total of 90 minutes .

Best get to sleep! Praying for miracles!

ValiumQueen · 06/02/2013 22:55

So many prams detective I have had six including the two I use at the moment. Averages two per child so I think that is good.

He lasted 30 minutes. Not impressed tbh. Still, he is 16 weeks tomorrow, or maybe 15. I forget.

ValiumQueen · 06/02/2013 22:58

MM nice namechange, but I will still call you MM

I am still keen to meet, but transport may now be an issue. I will need plenty of notice. And I need a while to get well.

zcos · 06/02/2013 23:03

Aw evil that's beautiful your quote...
I have been enjoying dh reading Dr Seuss this week the lorax and Horton hears a who and wondering about the world my dd will inherit.

GTbaby · 06/02/2013 23:16

found the bestbuggy site.
I've chosen already. The oyster max. Don't think it's out yet. But looks good.
Was I crazy thinking I'd only need one push chair? Some of you have had loads!
Forget the 2nd baby issue but still thought I'd need one only.
Maclaren is very good to be honest. Could use with carry cot. Although is suitable from birth anyway. Good for travel. Only issue is it is quite long when folded up so hard to fit into car boot.

sillymisstilly · 06/02/2013 23:31

I bought a mothercare my3 when preggers as dh threw a strop about the price of an icandy jogger and it was the next best big 3 wheeler for walking the dog that would face both ways. In all honesty that's all it's really good for - it's bulky, heavy and a pita to fold up (I jammed my hand in the folding mechanism the other day in tesco car park - cue lots of sweary wordsBlush ) - but it suits most of our needs for round the village.

Have just bough a bargainous m&p luna mix to use when we fly over to NI and will trial it on train one day next week. If public transport is a success I might invest in a new lightweight pushchair that will face me.

Also wishing I'd stuck to my guns and bought an icandy researched pushchairs more when up duffed!

sillymisstilly · 06/02/2013 23:32

hmm might change my name back. think i prefer being mm1 Blush

MissMummy1 · 06/02/2013 23:36

Normal service has been resumed Smile

Don't teach me to do things like namechanges. I get carried away with myselfBlush

ValiumQueen · 06/02/2013 23:40

Another 30 minutes. Sodding wind. Jacob go to sleep please.

Do not buy a double yet GT. You have plenty of time for that. Besides you may need a triple.

ValiumQueen · 06/02/2013 23:42

Namechanges need quite a bit of thought if they are to be permanent. GoTheFuckToSleep has already been taken.

GTbaby · 06/02/2013 23:52

You know my mil! Lol we won't be buying anything for quite some time.

Sent off my referral to my preferred hospital. Fx I get it this time.

ValiumQueen · 07/02/2013 00:40

J has finally given up. But for how long? So fed up of no sleep.

katkit1 · 07/02/2013 01:37

Wow! Congratulations gt - I know this will show at end of thread but I'm super behind.

Catbag · 07/02/2013 01:47

I have the Out N About 360 Nipper Double for mine, whoever was asking about doubles. It's great. Will go anywhere and I can push it with one hand, which is good when you have another small one in tow (in my case, my 4 yo dd). I bought a shopping basket for it, but that is not very substantial. I think that would be my only complaint about it.

Evilwater · 07/02/2013 02:02

I'm up, MIL forgot to change his nappy before bed. Sad I'm waiting for him to go sleep.

Evil

PurplePidjin · 07/02/2013 02:50

I have a Hauck something i was given. It's only good point is that i can carry it up the stairs with R still in it. Slings are much easier.

ValiumQueen · 07/02/2013 03:40

3 hours.

ChunkyChicken · 07/02/2013 03:58

I stuck with my Britax B-Smart 3 until DS came along (& bought a £50 chicco I think for my Dsis to use with DD) as I couldn't be arsed changing. Yes its bigger than an umbrella fold but that's not been an issue really. Still use it now with DS, esp given I bought a brand new soft carrycot (rrp £110) for £15. Plus the cheap tandem. Think I'm doing ok for not spending money on pushchairs... Haven't a f$%&ing clue what we'll do for a double/buggy when we go Brittany as we'll need boot space. Perhaps borrow the umbrella fold back from my dsis & make DD walk? June, so DD over 3, DS 7mo. Could work for a wk. Def taking tandem to New Forest at beg of March whatever cat bum face DH pulls when I mention it.

Envy alert. If your baby is a poor sleeper, look away now...

Babies are a law unto themselves, an enigma, weird. After 3 nights of DS going longer & longer (~8.5hrs last night), he's gone back to 6h15m now. He has a feed after DD is in bed, so between 8 & 9. Goes straight to sleep (usually stirs a bit on transfer & then snuggles his face into his flannel & goes to sleep), I only feed when he properly seems awake/disturbed, but last 2 nights he's gone to 5am ish. Until now. Grrr.

Envy alert. You can all look back now...

I considered namechanging to CuntyChicken but thought that was a bit too much given everybody else has got bored of that game now Grin

pikz if you went to ff nobody would blame you!! I'd send you some of my frozen bm to use if I could, as I doubt I'll be going out enough to get through it all before its 6mth expiry. I'd stop collecting in the breast shells or pumping occassionally but I don't want to get out of the habit or my supply suffer... Will just have to go out more!!

Despite DD being on antibiotics again, this time for an ear & throat infection those bloody vitamins are clearly fuck all use at boosting her immune system and all having to go to the dentist which I don't mind as I have excellent teeth inc DS, despite him clearly being too young, I'm feeling a lot happier.

Reasons for happier feeling;

  1. I've given up trying to be supermum - the house isn't awful, so sod it. (Not sure why I tried to be a "perfect housewife" after having #2 - I have never cared before. I wonder if it was new house + nesting hormones gone wild?)
  2. both dc napped for the same amount of time this afternoon so I was free to watch 2 episodes of West Wing
  3. DH is being better. Cooking dinner, helping with laundry etc & not being on the laptop all the fucking time. Hockey is still being played BUT he's not too knackered so far doing the compressed hrs, so we have Fri together.

In short, I am thankful I have a pair of lovely sleepy dc & a not entirely useless lovely DH.

Off to bed, DS is snoring gently on my shoulder but I'd better get some sleep.

Pikz · 07/02/2013 04:13

Can you get 3 month sleep regression...I think we have that.

Thank you chunky...:)

Right lets see if he will go til 7....

rowingdowntheriver · 07/02/2013 04:49

Marking my place!!

rowingdowntheriver · 07/02/2013 05:05

Omg, congratulations gt! That is amazing!

I haven't made it back to the actual announcement where you say you are preggers so not sure if it was planned or not. Either way, am quite jealous as for some reason I feel broody at the moment.

zcos · 07/02/2013 05:14

I second everything rowing said ... I can't make it back that far!!
up feeding dd last night was just a miracle ... will prob never see her sleep for 8.5 hours again! ... 5 tonight Sad I know I should be grateful for that but its like going back to plain crackers when you just had crackers and cheese!
