Oh it's all so glam, isnt it Chunky. I almost answered the door with one boob out earlier. Had been feeding DS, got distracted by phone, DD and door knocking, pottered to the door and only tucked my nipple away in the nick of time.

Went for departmental meal today, was lush to see everyone and DS was very good. My boss begged me to come back in January, and said that if he had ever before not appreciated me, he definitely did now. Ha. I told him for a promotion and pay rise, I'd come back in May (when I am going back anyway), but if he didnt come through, I'd consider having a whole year off. The look on his face was priceless!

DH had been going to have DD and DS simultaneously while I lunched but decided I should take DS with me and he will start off small having them together on his own - an hour perhaps, rather than a long lunch. Although is fine for me to have them both on my own all day twice a week while he works, and all evening when he plays hockey, even though DD is a proper sod about going to bed, and goes absolutely spare if she wakes up and DH is nowhere to be found, and he plays hockey an hour away, and its a stupid form of hockey (inline) which means he cant just leave the pitch and jump in the car in the event of disaster, it takes about 20 minutes to get the kit off which honks, so not showering is SO not an option. Oh, that's fair. Consistency, thy name is not "woman", IT IS MY BLOODY DH!

Posted earlier but it got lost.

horsey Grin

Chickenpox is still infectious until scabbed over. It takes about two weeks post exposure to develop.

YellowWellies · 18/12/2012 18:43

Thanks pass xxx

Stunt it's Haagen das Pralines and Cream - so would be rude not to finish it. As for the thrush spores - cold sterilisation with milton will kill it - steam sterilising won't - not sure about microwave.

horseylady · 18/12/2012 18:52

Hugs to those with allergies :(

Just done first run!!! Along with the pup which I was dreading as she's a handful. Anyway, had to check I bought the pup she was so well behaved (I had). I fit in my running clothes though my top was a bit small and it felt fab!!!!! Well I'll need tena lady next time (sorry tmi) but I assume that will strengthen over time.

Glad p is home pass. Huge relief!!

FatimaLovesBread · 18/12/2012 18:53

I'm having a paranoid health anxiety day Sad I don't feel to cracking. Bad headache and neck ache. The back, tummy and leg ache I had the other day is still there although the leg pains worse. I'm guessing the leg pain is muscular as its in my groin and calf and now the other side of my groin aches. But my anxiety keeps kicking in making me think I've got DVT

I think I'm just worn out and maybe coming down with a virus but its hard to keep the anxiety at bay when I'm tired and suffering so many different aches and pains

pikz · 18/12/2012 19:05

Welcome home pass :)

Baby pikz just projectiled everywhere and then did the most huge fart. Wonder if he gets build up of wind every 5 days or so as it happens every 4/5 days but not more often than that really. Can't think of another explanation :(

YellowWellies · 18/12/2012 19:06

Horsey AWESOME! Also nice to know the tip about Tena before I brave a run in the New Year.

Just checked our Christmas snacks - looks like Pistachios are about the only dairy free thing we've got! Time to go to the supermarket.

horseylady · 18/12/2012 19:06

Fatima - any swelling? Any heat any unusual bruising?

Why don't you pop down to your local walk in centre?

horseylady · 18/12/2012 19:10

yellow yeah I was surprised tbh lol!! I was going to wait till the new year but have been itching to go :) was good. Glad I took the pup too!! Big dog in a proper sulk but no way could I take both!!

MissMummy1 · 18/12/2012 19:28

Ventured into the city on public transport with M today for the first time to catch up with an old uni friend. Was a lot of hassle but a very nice day!

DH decided to testdrive her car with the pram and car seat. Are we mad to be considering something as small as a citroen c1?! We're now deciding between a second hand volvo xc90, an audi a6, a golf or a teeny tiny c1 citycar. Any opinions? It will be March before we buy anything as my car is taxed and motd till then.

DD came out in a rash this morning across her back and neck. MM1 flipped out in a panic and got the HV who lives next door to check her out. Thankfully it's just a heat rash and has now disappeared! I am such a worrierSad . Been given a tub of hydromol ointment (from what I can see its just baby vasoline) to stick on it in future to stop her clothes rubbing it and inflamming it.

Just home from a half hour trip out on my own to the sorting office (bastards have lost my parcel Angry ) and tescos without m. I felt like I'd lost a limb without her with me Confused Sad .

MissMummy1 · 18/12/2012 19:36

Welcome home pass!

Defs eat the icecream now yw - I just had some ben and jerrys winter berries - YUM!

Impressed with your run horsey !

Can't remember who I else I was going to reply to Blush

And just noticed I went to tesco with baby vom down my jeans and top Blush Is this my life from now on?!ConfusedGrin

FatimaLovesBread · 18/12/2012 19:41

MM - Can you get the pram in the C1? And can you get other things in it as well? I'd have thought a C1 would be too small but plenty of people manage with small cars. We've got a Focus and were going to trade it in for smaller but we've decided we need the boot space.

Horsey - No, no swelling or heat. Just pain. Wondering if I've got a trapped nerve as its all my left hand side. Think I'm coming down with a bug as well though, my sinuses hurt Sad

Meredith is making some strange grunting noises tonight!

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/12/2012 19:44

I've given dd a dummy. Only for going to sleep and only it seems from 4pm til bedtime.
I don't want another child who uses my boob as a human dummy, I know when she's just tired and she settles instantly with it.

How do babies who have no boob/ dummy go to sleep?! She's zonked out on the sofa I'm not even having to hold her this is a first.

MissMummy1 · 18/12/2012 19:48

fatima he thinks because the pram unit would fit on the back seat it would be fine. And we'll get a smaller pushchair for the car. Personally I think it is a step too small....

NervousAt20 · 18/12/2012 19:49

Brilliant news pass I bet your so glad to be home, make sure you put yor feet up and get some rest after all the stress you've been through

My LO is not a happy girl tonight Xmas Sad the second she's awake she's screaming and it's not a hunger cry its a I'm in pain cry its awful, if I'm feeding her she pulls off the boob to scream aswell bless her, she won't sleep anywhere other then on mine or DPs chest but touch wood she's currently asleep in her Moses in front of the tumble dryer Xmas Blush that thing is a god send, I quickly shoved a micro meal in, ate it and having 5 min to sit down before she wakes again.

Ice cream Nom Nom Nom Xmas Envy

NervousAt20 · 18/12/2012 19:51

DH my DD won't take a dummy I wish she would because she often uses me Xmas Sad the breast feeding women told me I've just gotta go with it and let her do it

FatimaLovesBread · 18/12/2012 19:55

Mm - which pram have you got? What if you had someone you needed to give a lift to? Or if you went shopping? I agree with you. We were going to get a Skoda Fabia but decided that was too small boot wise. But DH does have a huge cricket bag too Smile we took the pushchair to the showroom to try it out so perhaps you could do that?

MissMummy1 · 18/12/2012 20:00

fatima We have a mothercare my3. Same as the icandy jogger but it felt much sturdier for walking the dog (and was half the price!) The thing is even without m we often have 2 sets of dive kit, mountain bikes or the dog with us. My citroen xsara struggles Confused . I think he thinks if he buys us a small car he can then palm it off on me and buy himself another landrover Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 18/12/2012 20:01

We discovered the value of dummies when P's reflux started. You can see her face go scarlet and her eyes widen as the acid comes up her throat then screams. She seems unwilling to swallow which means the acid sits there - giving her a dummy makes her swallow then she immediately seems more relaxed. I was pretty Hmm about it initially but it has been a total life-saver! She is settled quickly and it helps her sleep where before she was waking in pain.

DH keeps looking at her and saying "we will regret this when it is time to take it off her" but the extra 10 minutes it gave us at dinner time made him think again.

She used to suck her fingers anyway and a dummy can be taken away.

DH is lying snoring on the sofa with be cat on his knee. P is lying sleeping in her Moses basket and I am more excited than I should really be admitting by watching the Great British Bake Off Christmas special! Simple things!

Passmethecrisps · 18/12/2012 20:04

MM I reckon you might be righ about the plan or future land rover purchases! I have a friend with a C1 and it is minuscule!

DH has a BMW 3 series and we still need to take the wheels off the buggy to get it in the boot.

I would go for the Audi. I like an Audi

ShellyBobbs · 18/12/2012 20:08

Ah Valium, I knew there was a 2 week thing with chicken pox. Got it completely wrong though!

ShellyBobbs · 18/12/2012 20:11

I meant I got it wrong obviously Xmas Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 18/12/2012 20:30

Ahh Pass a girl after my heart. We're still contemplating our next car, DH wants a BMW 3 series where as I want an Audi.

MM Him and his landrovers Grin I think for the price of a C1 you could get a better car to suit your needs for your money.

We've just had Dominos Two for Tuesday! Yum

GTbaby · 18/12/2012 20:40

MM. If the pushchair is on back seat where will the car seat go?

I have a golf gti. The boot is massive! But my Maclaren just about gets in. It is the biggest in the range tho. Deff 2nd the try it before buying option. I never did as I assumed my boot was big enough

PetiteRaleuse · 18/12/2012 20:49

Welcome home Pass. It's a great feeling isn't it?

GT i don't know how you do it.. My MIL is as far as is possible from us while still being in France, and it is far too close for my liking...

Horsey I think asked about cradle cap : VASELINE

Fatima, get your leg pain checked out, put your mind at rest, you have enough to worry about as it is :) new mums are not hypochondriacs. Get yourself checked, it'll probably be nothing, but at least you'll feel better.

Yellow, eat the sodding ice cream. Or send it over !

Chunky, hang in there, they say that later the kids will play together and it'll be brilliant. So they say. Can we just hold each other's hands through the newborn plus toddler phase?

All OK here. A friend came to stay this weekend until this evening and was a real help with whichever of the kids needed an extra pair of hands. Took her backl to the station at 7 and already miss her.
