Hallo! Family crisps are home!
I have never been so chuffed to see my shit-tip of a house.
Wee P is very much better and is now taking up to 55 ml per feed. Hard to think that she was necking 120 ml of breast milk at 10 days old. She is back to being hungry and has relaxed time again.
We are back at the hospital on Friday for a weigh-in and general check up but generally that's us now. The hospital staff were smashing - especially considering what I have heard about people struggling to get diagnosis and treatment for silent reflux. We could not have been taken more seriously by anyone who saw us.
DH had a good night with her despite a slightly patronising nurse who took P off him to burp her 'properly' . I had to face up to being very precious and thinking that only I could settle her. I did show him how to do the cuddle which gets her off to sleep (he is still a bit keen to whack her back to bed fully awake) and the emergency shoosh-rock which can settle her when she is very upset. He does this funny thing where he holds her and sort of examines her face while asking her what's the matter. I admire his ability to keep chilled actually - it doesn't settle her but he certainly stays calmer than me!
When we left the hospital the nurses gave us a Christmas pressie for P!
Anyway, hopefuly now I can properely keep up with the chat.
YW if J does have silent reflux linked to dairy intolerance it is surely massive griss (spelling?) to your breast-feeding mill. I don't like dairy products and very rarely eat anything dairy so p was not exposed through my breast milk hence no reaction. It was formula which caused the problem. Had she been able to feed the chances are she would have had either no reaction or a very mild one.
