A nice new thread for us all - I know someone mentioned it a few days ago Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Morning All - well it's my last day before work tomorrow! Am nervously excited - it doesn't help that my dept moved into a new building the week after I left, so they have all got to know the new rooms, processes and procedures over the last 6 months, and I am going in cold Sad also we merged with 2 other training depts, so they have all got used to each other, and I am now going back after 6 months - it's that whole nervous school girl thing again.....will anyone talk to me, will they like me and so on......!
Diege, good look wiht Lib at Nursery, am sure she'll be fine. Smile
Londoner - so Sad to hear you are leaving us, will miss you and your posts. Was looking forward to meeting you at some point in the future.

Ooh, whilst I think, I may well come to the Summer meet-up (is it 9th July, Hyde Park?) Mentioned it to DH and he said, well do you want to go....he will come to, oh I will be able to chat face to face! Anyway, better not get too carried away in case it doesn't happen!

Hope all poorly ones are now well.

Will speak later, getting in mega MN fix today, as will be restricted for rest of week!

B&T

LilJ · 24/04/2006 11:32

Sorry I haven't posted in ages!! I've been meaning to come on and say how nice it was to meet everyone and sorry I didn't really get to sit down properly to chat with any of you. I was a bit preoccupied with SIL and niece and a slightly stroppy DH. Would love to come to the evening meet up sans LOs. Would depend on DH not having to work late that day, but as he worked something like 48 hours three days last week I think I can insist on him having an early Daddy evening.

ok a few questions ...

Nova - where do you do the swimming lessons? I really want to sign Nate up for lessons soon and have looked into AquaBabies in Kentish Town, but parking is impossible there and getting there by public transport is equally difficult.

JenJam - I'm off to see Little Angels today and want to check out Gower School - have you been yet? And how's the Nanny search going?

Well gotta run as someone wants to play ...

J & N xx

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 12:13

lilJ - hope you can come it's be great!
G.O - you are right, 'place below' is only open during the day or for special events in the evenings. shame as i went to a birthday meal there and the food/atmosphere was fantastic.any other ideas!?
tex - so glad things are on the up foryou! bet T was really excited about the marathon..dp went to watch but i couldn't face the rainy weather..hehe
brownie - no wonder you're nervous but youll get back into it fastno doubt!

I have decided against getting a fringe as i know most days i won't bother to style it and i'll look a mess..lol
still desperate for a change though..i'm considering going a lot lighter..or burgundy red..and maybe shorter..argh!lol

someone has snooped on my mn posts and sent me a nasty email today..very Angry
maks me realise how much information on me there is on here..ahwell..i'm happy for almost anyone to know it..just not this person..lol

ChaCha · 24/04/2006 12:29

Brownie, enjoy today and hope you have a relaxed working week (is there such a thing?) What do you do btw? I've forgotten.

BoB - What do you mean? Shock You are right btw, I'll post something about what you said on the other group. Lots of PI on here.

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 12:33

chacha - meant to say - enjoy your 'minibreak' today...lol..hope you are feeling better!
we had massive success with avocado and ricotta blended up..O ate tons of it over the weekend. think it works/tastes better than with yogurt.

ChaCha · 24/04/2006 12:39

Thnks BoB, sat on sofabed upstairs lazing with LO, house is a shambles but honestly don't care today :) It's nice to have some time out after a busy weekend.
Still haven't started weaning Blush Have no motivation. Your mix sounds lovely :)

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 12:46

sounds lovely chach - definitly ignore the housework!

fair enough for not weaning..no point if Z doesn't need it yet. i was doing it half assedly but am now at it with a vengance with all this weight loss business.

don't want to say too much about the email on here.

Diege · 24/04/2006 13:23

Shock BOB, poor you Sadunderstanbd why you can't say more on here. On a happier note, I'd say burguyndy red change for hair would be ace and really suit your colouringSmile. I've had my extensions taken out (long story), and am having highlights next week just to lighten it up a bit. Seems we have a shared hair obsession. CHACHA, sounds a lovely day planned...sleep, then mumsnet...bit more sleep, some choccie perhaps??I may be mad, but if I remember were you a fellow quorn addict? Just seen the quorn curries and bolgnaise pizzas in Morrisons...mmmmm!!!!Have you tried them?
BROWNIE, fingers crossed for tommorrow!! My lot have also changed offices and merged with a different dept., so sounds like we're in the same boat Smile. Libby wasn't great in nursery this morning, but hard to tell exactly why, due to her getting over this bug. Will pop in for an hour tommorrow after I get back from seeing Twinkle Smile. Sounds great that you have your dad doing some of the childcare Smile.
TWINKLE, will be nearer 11 than 10.30 for me, though I'm sure if I get there any earlier I will find you wandering the aisles of m&S Grin. Looking forward to one of those subway thingies you introduced me to Grin, and a good natter of course Grin.
Right, must get tidied up - house is a tip!!!!!

ChaCha · 24/04/2006 14:06

LOL :) DH is defintely looking after us alright, he's sat on his PC asking if I'm okay every so often! Fortunately DS is being very good and now asleep.

Diege - I stopped experimenting with Quorn stuff for a while after the peppered steaks.. they really made me feel sick :( Will have a look at those you mentioned when next shopping. I love the roast beef and chicken slices, just got some yesterday. I find the Fajita spice mix (Discovery, NOT el Paso) lovely with chicken pieces. Feeling hungry now.

Was just transferring my pregnancy journal to LO's website, it was a lovely read.

Beks - Can you email me the stuff you copied and pasted from here. Would love to edit my posts and put them on site.

Diege · 24/04/2006 14:10

urgghhh yeah, peppered steaks were well dodgy Grin, never had those again!!

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 14:24

chacha - after this email i considering getting mnhq to delete all my post , but i'd be so sad to as i love looking back at our threads sometimes..
if anything more happens i may too ask beksmum for the m-word documents (or ask how to do it myslf..lol) so at least i'd have those.
hope it dosn't come to that.

bet you areloving reading back throughyour journal..it's funy how much you forget, andhow many emotions come up when you think back like that.

for the quorn fans ..'cauldron' do amazing sausages and fake bacon..I love the stuff.

diege ..yes we are hair obsessed..lol..what hapened to extensions..did you justgive in to the urge to pick them out..lol?
thinking now about a slightly assymetrical just above shoulder bob..in shiny burgundy red.
but again..i know it's never going to look like that unless i straighten everyday as my hair is naturally really wavy
whatabout chemicalstraightening? has anyone everdone it?
skulking off to start new thread on that issue..lol

browniechick · 24/04/2006 14:41

Hi, how strange that you and I are both going back to similar situations Diege! Still can't believe I go back tomorrow though.
Chacha - I am a training consultant for the Financial Services Division of an Insurance Company - NFU Mutual.
BoB - absolutley Shock at your situation, not surprised you are Angry. I hope that it doesn't discourage you to post on here. At least you can still communicate via the Yahoo group. Is this person a "friend" (and I use the term very loosely, as sending nasty pasty emails does not qualify them as a friend in my book!

Catch up later
B&T

BEKsmum · 24/04/2006 14:44

Afternoon girls,

Londoner I'm absolutely gutted you've decided to leave, please stay in touch via e-mail or phone if you want to, as would love to meet up again some time for lunch or a stroll in the park.

Chacha, will happily e-mail you the document, can you post your e-mail address on the yahoo site?

Bob I'll send you the document too, Rodeo did you get it when i sent it to you if not I'll send it again.

Rodeo thanks for the e-mail for Ben, he thought it was very funny, does Joe like the Llama one? That one just makes me crack up!!!

Twinkle what did Josh do to his arm - I must have missed it? Hope he is feeling better now.

Diege & Brownie wishing you losts of luck and a speedy first day back at work this week. I'm sure Thomas and Libby will love nursery and you'll soon get back into the swing of things in your new departments. Give it week and you'll feel like you've never been away.

Karma, will post pictures of the Naming Ceremony next week, think I've got most of the things ordered now, just the food to sort out and we're done. Hope the weather improves though! I'm still being a complete tart and haven't dealt with the godparent issue yet!!! How's your dp now, have they got the infection under control yet? How's Ella?

Looking forward to tomorrow as my folks are getting back very late tonight so it will be lovely to have them around again for the best part of a month.

Right best go and get ready to pick Ben up from school, and organise something for tea hope you are all having a good day Beks

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 14:58

beksmum..weather forecast looks good so fingers crossed!
wouldn't worry about godparents situation, it is them that haven't gotten back to you, so it's not your fault. I can understand you don't want to b too hasty in changing plans etc.
..we are the total reverse..have asked godparents, but not done the promised ceremony to make it official..lol..must spring into action on that one!

and only just noticed londoners post..how dumb am I!?..
I hope this isn't in anyway related to last weeks nonesense....and on the flipside hope last weeks nonesense wasn't in anyway related to you wanted to leave mumnet anyway, as it caused a bit of turmoil and could have upset nova who had done nothing wrong at all. (and who handled it in a very forthright yet gracious manner I must say)

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 15:18

after noticing/realising about londoners post I also noticed she is no longer on our yahoo group.
hope everything's okay for her as like I said, this is a bit odd.
fair enough to realise theres other things to be doing, but she only posted every couple of days anyway.
veryconfused now.

Diege · 24/04/2006 15:34

hmmm, yes agree BOB, very confusing. Echo your sentiments exactly about last week's misunderstandings; agree, I think Nova dealt with things really well and fairly Smile; sure there must be other reasons for L's departure...will try and e-mail Smile(just to make sure you are OK Londoner - it's not like you've signed up for life, never to be released from the cult of mumsnet!!!!).
Oh and on hair, you are actually quite near the truth, lol!!Yes, I am a terrible picker, and those gluey bonds just didn't stand a chance BlushMy hair's actaully past my shoulders, so not missing them too much Smile.
Right, poor Libby has been stuck in door bouncer for far too long Blush
Diege Smile

ChaCha · 24/04/2006 15:54

BoB - Whatever her reasons she will be missed by us all. Her posts always brought a smile to my face. Hopefully she'll keep in touch as has been requested by us all. Still no sign of Enthusia, Must get in touch.

Should have stayed in bed. Went downstairs to put on some washing and ended up being sick. Do you think it's a bug? What is food poisoning like? Will not google symptoms. Will be dying of uncurable disease by the break of day!

Diege - Forgot to wish you a good working week too. Hope all goes well.

I've noticed some tiny black 'dots' on LO's cheeks and chin - like blackheads!! Anyone else experienced these, they look under the skin. Thought it could be start of freckles but on further inspection looks as just described. Anyone?

BoB - Yet to look at your pic!!!

ChaCha · 24/04/2006 16:16

Ah-ha - Just seen the pic. Remember this one from the ante-natal thread. Now I've forgotten the question!

GG - I think I provide you with the link to the group and then you ask to join. Otherwise I would need your email address to invite you.
Here is the link to copy and paste, I can't link it directly, can't find backslash on laptop:

groups.yahoo.com/group/Mumsnet_november_ladies

Try it.

ChaCha · 24/04/2006 16:22

sorry, that should be mumsnetnovemberladies

Anyone else care to do the link pls? Nova, GO?

ChaCha · 24/04/2006 16:24

OMG - Now I know the problem. When I try to put underscores between mumsnet, november and ladies this is the prompt for underlining on MN.

Get it? Right, I really will step down from being today's technial advisor. Step in pls ladies!

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 16:35

\link{http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Mumsnet_november_ladies/\mumsnet yahoo group}

hope that helps chacha

all this responsibility for you..lol
what happened with b.a.m btw did she reveal her big reason to anyone?
and yes enthusias energetic posts are so missed! she brought me out of many a gloomy mood when pregnant wiht her sheer ehthusiasm

babyonboard · 24/04/2006 16:39

p.s chacha..step away from google! i was convinced i was dying of post-partum septiceamia after an ill advised googling mission...lol
hopefully you're not even reading this because you've gone to bed/sofa with lots of magazines, juice and chocolate.

ChaCha · 24/04/2006 16:46

Thanks BoB. We've kept the sofabed down from weekend visit and I'm parked here with LO, DH's laptop & drinks. Not keeping anything down unfortunately.

DH is still watching Star Trek ... how boring! Think I'll watch Pride and Prejudice later, did anyone see Green Street? I quite enjoyed it even though it was a bit violent.

browniechick · 24/04/2006 20:03

Hi All, just been scanning the other threads. Can't remember who was BF and having trouble getting lo to take a bottle??
But they are looking for people in that situation to test a new breast like bottle for Mothercare - the link i on the Breast/Bottlefeeding thread.
HTH

AAAAAAGGGGGGHHH - Back to work tomorrow, gosh, still can't get my head around it! It's not like I haven't been in every couple of months or so, but will still feel like a fish out of water!

xx
