Morning :)

J is not much better so taking her to docs today at 10.30 (make the MIL happy Wink) Still has a bit of a temp ande nasty cough, oh and dp is flaked out on the bed saying he feels really nauseous - that's all we need a blooming sickness bug!

Glad to hear Libby's a bit better Diege :) J was coughing so much during the night, I sat her up and she projectile vomited all over me and the bed!

Taking kids to the park with a friend today - to hell with the weather - we'll all have to get our wellies on! And J could prob do with some fresh air - it's not too cold is it.

Right better go, oh and just mind what you say to me - I might just 'report this post' on you. We'd better be careful with our BNP, IRA, Al Kaeda, Gina Ford etc comments Grin

LaylaandSethsmum · 21/04/2006 10:05

Morning all!!

Glad you're back Londoner!! Can't believe how quickly the easter hols have gone, taking layla to play at a friends this morning then really should do some food shopping as the cupboards are bare but can't really be arsed!
Glad the London meet up went really well when's the next one going to be?

Seth didn't get up till 8;45 this morning ( although L was up at 7 as usual so no lie in for me!!Smile) Is unheard of so had to keep checking him to make sure he was still breathing!!

My maternity pay finishes today Sad really will have to tighten the purse strings from now on but not until after the Virgin Vie make up party tonight Grin

Have a good day everyone xxx

LaylaandSethsmum · 21/04/2006 10:06

Sorry that J is still no better Rodeo, know what you mean tho about having to pacify mothers/MILs!!

Diege glad Libby is on the mend !Smile

LaylaandSethsmum · 21/04/2006 10:07

Report this post!?! What the hells that all about? Freedom of speech?! Grin

Londoner · 21/04/2006 10:23

Rodeo, you poor things, sorry to hear Jess is so poorly. You sound so amazing to be thinking positively and just get out and about, think that's a good idea I don't think it's too cold for that... hopefully will 'blow the germs away'Smile.

Layla, yep, got my last payslip too, let's prepare for the white knuckle rideWink. Lol at you hovvering over Seth, It's so typical isn't it how when the baby's awake you can't get on as you're physically hindered and when they're asleep you can't get on as you're worrying! Oh boy, motherhood eh?
Well, meant to be tidying up Grin, and Elizabeth is doing a cute little squealy noise to get my attention... suppose I'd best jump to it eh!

browniechick · 21/04/2006 10:30

Morning All! Well, I am currently without babe - have dropped him off at the nursery, and go back to pick him up at 11:30!!!! I can't believe that I actually felt really Sad when I dropped him off, I suppose the reality of it all is just hitting me - I go back to work next week, and will be without him for 4 whole days! And on a Tuesday I won't actually see him, cos I will be going to Brownies more or less straight after work, and by the time I get back, he will be in bed asleep.
Am sure he'll be fine this morning - he gave the nursrey lady who took him upstairs a big smile when he saw her, so am convinced he will be ok! They even said I could phone to check on him this morning if I wanted to - said I wold resist that one, but would phone on his first full day.
Bit of a self absorbed start there - sorry guys!
Diege, you have your second visit today too don't you? Hope it goes ok.
Londoner - sorry to hear you were upset, glad you came back.
Sorry also to hear of the poorly babes, hope they all feel better soon.
Whats all this report this post about? Why has it appeared, anyone know?

Must dahs, supposed to be making a start on the ironing mountain that I have whilst T is at nursery!

B & T

Diege · 21/04/2006 11:51

Hi! Smile. I'd say go and get yourself a nice cup of tea, packet of biscuits and a mag BROWNIE; the ironing can wait Smile; sure he will be fine - a smile is always a good sign. Have had to keep Libby off nursery today, as she is still poorly (got to the diarreah (arghh, sp!!) stage now, so working itself out of her system. Will try again on Monday Smile.
RODEO: your post really inspired me to think positively and get out and about (which I did Smile). Hope J will be better soon, and we both have well babies (must be something in that London air Wink. Got the letters this morning! Can;t wait to give them to the girls, they will be thrilled!! Jasmine's latest fascination is my fillings; first thing she said this morning was 'can I see your metal again! Grin).
Right, making most of sick baby sleep time to get the place tidied, speak later,
Diege Smile
PS: buggers from work still haven't sorted it out, though have admitted responsibility (better, but it won't pay the Next Directory!!!)

ChaCha · 21/04/2006 12:03

Good morning ladies,

Hey Londoner - So glad that you're here! What were you thinking of?! You cannot escape us that easily :o How are your family btw? Are the kids back at school yet? Also meant to ask what you decided to wear for wedding in the end? Is that now old news? Keep smiling - you do it for everyone else :)

Rodeo - Hope little one is okay. Any news?

Brownie - Enjoy your morning, hope you get your ironing done although would be nice to get a hot COT for a change and put your feet up? WinkI used to be in the brownies btw [halo glows]

Putting off everything until tomorrow, woken today with mother of headaches and sickness. I know that if cycle is back to normal (going by last months dates) AF is due right now so just wish it would hurry up. Feel 'orrible!!! This sickness reminds me of how I felt when PG, just the reminder to put me off TTC when I start feeling broody.

Oh, need to ask: LO has been doing this strange thing as of late when given his bottle. His eyes start watering and he closes his eyes, opening them again as if in a little pain. Any ideas? Might just call h/v - sounds a bit silly doesn't it? Have noticed it twice at night time feeds. Also think since teething he is mixing night up with day..was another long night, he was really restless.

How's Beksmum & Karma today?

Okay girls, enjoy your Friday.

novadandypowder · 21/04/2006 12:25

right, I'm really narked and have to address this as I've never been one for letting things lie...

I said 'She'll probably hate me for saying this..', because I figured it's something that you'd probably heard before, not because I was out to say something nasty.

then..'reminded me of Catherine Tate - need I tell everyone that Catherine Tate is a highly talented very successful female comedian/ West End actress? Why would being compared to her be an insult? It would be different if I suggested one of her characters, but I'm talking about the actual person (who I have worked with) what is the problem?

And how was the delivery thoughtless??

Angry
OP posts:
Londoner · 21/04/2006 12:42

Nova, it seemed the comment was made about me rather than to me IFYSWIM, regardless of Ms. Tate's looks or talents I felt insulted.

..........I'll get my coat.......

Londoner · 21/04/2006 13:06

Diege - well done for getting out and about, freash air is great isn't it? Well done on sorting out payroll people.
ChaCha - aww thanks for your lovely postSmile, yep, went for the massive wedges and shirt dress in the end, it was fun to dress up! Family are all good, and 3 kids back at school now as of Wednesday, babe asleep in sling with lovely big pink cheeks within kissing distanceGrin. Hm, don't recognise Z's eye watering thing, unless perhaps it's related to teething? You know they can go a bit dreamy eyed and 'funny' when they're teething and they bite on something... like when you're scratching an itch for instance?
Brownie, hope T got through nursery and that you did something enjoyable as well as the ironing?
Now why did I put that bowl of broken chocolate eggs by the computer.......

novadandypowder · 21/04/2006 13:10

It was made about you because it was a response to Rodeos comment that you looked like someone famous, but she couldn't think of who..

OP posts:
goldenoldie · 21/04/2006 13:31

Can we draw a line under who looks like who please, or we will lose our title as the 'nicest thread' on Mumsnet!.

Why do the words - 'giving someone enough rope to hang themselves with' - come to mind?...............

goldenoldie · 21/04/2006 13:33

And just before we put a halt to look alikes - I already know my resemblence to Beyonce is amazing. We could be twins....................

Londoner · 21/04/2006 13:38

....nova, I'm sorry, it seems I misunderstood. Can we move on?

Rodeo · 21/04/2006 14:51

Afternoon :)

Been to doc's and J has been precribed with an inhaler :( She's got a wheeze and but it's too early to tell if it's asthma. She's always had a bit of a wheeze since birth and I'd never thought much of it, she was born with what they call a 'baby grunt' which may have been because she was 4 weeks early and born by section, so wonder if it's all related. Time will tell I suppose.

On a happier note, got the children some new school shoes this morning, oh and some sandals from Clarks, soft little 'Doodles' ones, exactly the same as they had last year :) Roll on Summer!

Glad the letters arrived Diege!

And glad the Catherine Tate stuff's blown over, phew! GO - Grin

Right we're going to park now, byyeeee!

Rodeo · 21/04/2006 14:54

why am I now hearing Vic Reeve's 'oh, you wouldn't let it lie!' in my head? Wink

Diege · 21/04/2006 15:10

Grin RODEO: I wouldn;t automatically panic about the inhalor; it's standard practice at our surgery to give them to babies/toddlers who have coughs/wheezes, doesn't mean it's asthma. DD1 was also prescribed one at about this age because of a wheeze, and never needed to use it Smile.
You know I'm never going to be able to watch CT again!!
Like the idea of choccy pieces by computer LONDONER;mmmm, you'll never get me off it now Grin. Surely the children will have them first???
Well, grissly baby is not the word for it; I'm so rubbish at looking after sick babies, really start panicking, but I've been here so many times before so should know what I'm doing!!

babyonboard · 21/04/2006 15:22

can't believe some of you are preparing to return to work! time has justflown by..

rodeo Sad hope it doesn't turn out to be asthma (god it ook me forevr to figure out how to spell that)

tex111 - hope you're doing okay! know it's not much consolation at the moment, but many babies grow out of allergies. hope you get things under control soon.

londoner - Envy at your easter eggs..we only bought one, but i'm tempted by a big lindt one at 75% off in our newsagents..yum..

nova - is that the place with a champagne bar downstairs? never eaten there but the cocktails are delicous.

golden - it's really hard to find totally non smoking restaurants. even as an ex smoker (yep still holding out Smile ) i find smoking in restaurants vile, and who'd want to smoke over food!?

was going to suggest 'fire and stone' in covent garden as that is, and the pizzas are amazing, but it's not particularly fancy.
or bierodrome..yum..mussels..but can't remember where that is..islington ish ? lol

might be hard to work around your dh's working nova and tex - i'm easy..any evening from 6 is good for me Smile

i've posted a pic of how my hair used to be in my yahoo album..trying to decide if i should cut it the same...that way i can wear my hair tied back as the fringe will distract attention from my wonky ears..lol

opinions please! oh and excuse the cigarette.. Blush

Diege · 21/04/2006 15:37

Gosh just been on to wages, and now they've only gone and overpaid me Blush. Haven't said anything just yet Blush, but had provided them with the correct dates etc, so not sure what else I could have done (other than tell them...)
Waiting to hear back from HV about Libby, ummed and ahhed about wasting their time, but with weekend coming up, better to be safe than sorry Smile.

Diege · 21/04/2006 15:40

Oh BOB LOVE the hair; you do suit a fringe Smile. Was going to make a comparison with someone, but on second thought...Wink

babyonboard · 21/04/2006 15:52

diege..course it's not a waste of time...it'll give you peace of mind at least!
i've called them for relly silly things..once to ask what a third nipple looks like as dp was convinced O had one..turned out to be a birthmark..hehee

nova just realised i might be robbing your 'do! lol
if i decide to i may get a really exaggerated diagonal fringe..i used to have one and it looked fab (unless i forgot to striaghten it..hhe)
either way i need a change i feel i'm becoming increasingly 'mumsy' in my appearance...

babyonboard · 21/04/2006 15:52

lol diege..and thanks!

novadandypowder · 21/04/2006 16:13

Tex - just a thought, but my friends baby has an allergy to cows milk and couldn't get on with soya formulas so she ended up with a prescription formula for him which did the trick. It wasn't offered straight away so it may be worth asking??

BoB - it's got a champagne bar next to it yes. It's behind Old Compton St.

Sorry, I 'couldn't let it lie', that's not me, I'm a Scorpio Wink

BoB - haven't checked out old/new 'do' but feel free to rob away. I still feel sad that my hair spends all of it's time tied away, it looked so nice in curls for the wedding.

We test drove a new car today and it looks like we'll be getting one in a couple of weeks - woo hoo. No more bruises trying to get the car seat in and out of our two door with stupid back seats car. And the new one is exempt from the C charge as it runs on electric and petrol Smile

Oh, and my chunker munker is 20lb 14ozs at 27wks. It's the only time I'm glad she started to wail as we were number 20 to get weighed and they were only on number 8. The rushed me through after number 10 just to get me to leave Grin
