Shiny new thread: we forgot to discuss the title this time!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

That doesn't sound right to me Hmm surely they can smell if its dirty??? How could they then leave it unchanged? Or do I have the only baby who can gas a room out with a good old poop? Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 25/09/2012 21:33

Nah MissRee, DS's rear end is very productive in terms of volume and stink-ability. I can tell without holding/sniffing if he's done a special...

Glad the spots sound benign BJR, relatively speaking. I think your GP should be a bit more helpful, if a baby is coming out in spots regularly and is unhappy, they should do a bit more- I know nothing in this area, but if the GP thinks it's an allergy shouldn't they test?
Let us know how it goes with the nursery.

And poor MiniM, she (and you!) have had no luck at all on the health front. Glad your ear is at least a bit better, that's a start. And blame me mopsy, I cursed you with writing down she was on the mend...

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 25/09/2012 21:36

Sky gets a nappy change regularly at nursery - I get the times & if wet or dirty too! So I don't think your being PFB. Also they should of noticed the spots if they are quite prominent,

Sky is finally asleep. How long it lasts for I don't know, so off to catch some zzzz quick.

Night y'all

GeeandTee · 25/09/2012 21:37

What is happening today??!!

I can add a cut gum and two snotty noses to the mix. DS woke up with not much voice at all (but still claims he's fine, just like he claims he's not tired while sitting in his highchair unable to open his eyes Hmm ), DD is full of cold and raspy snoring at night, and then tried to pull herself up on a toybox this morning, slipped and bashed her lip and gum. There was blood everywhere, I thought I would have to go to A+E but I got it to slow down after 5 mins and it stopped after 10 mins. Spoke to GP on the phone and he said to come and see him in a few days to see how it is healing. My cream carpet didn't fare very well either!

bjr I think you need to have a strong word with the nursery, I wouldn't be happy at all.

I am trying DD on dairy again today, we'll see how the night goes!

GeeandTee · 25/09/2012 21:40

TMI but DD's nappies seem to smell the same coming out as they did going in!! Its very obvious from the other end of the room!

KateM77 · 25/09/2012 21:47

bjr definitely say something. DD came home from her first nursery in London once so dirty that she was bright red all over her bum and up her back. I took a photo and texted it to DH, and he showed it to the person in charge of the room when he dropped her off the next day. She never came home like that again!

Thanks for all the toe-related sympathy. I have now downgraded my initial assessment from broken, but still hobbling about and hoping I'll be able to put weight on it tomorrow.

Brew Biscuit
My boys are asleep for now. Get my big baby girl back tomorrow. Can it be Sunday yet?

OiMissus · 25/09/2012 23:48

Bjr not right. If BOi poops, it's obvious, and he should be changed immediately. The nursery does tend to have shifts, which I applaud, but they need to make sure that no poops have escaped meantime.
I must admit that if he hasn't pooped, during the day, that I don't always remember to change every 3 hrs. But if he poops, he won't be in that nappy for more than 5 mins. Nursery shouldn't be different. BOi has been going 2x per week for 5 months now and i have only ever met him once when he was dirty. ...still, if you pick up at the same time, that could be his routine time to poop. - definitely raise the question.
(Landed safely anyway. Stoopid easyjet grrrr.)
Loved the dsm number plate.bi'm going to have to buy B01 ASH, aren't I!? Grin
northern it was a German landlady and a pork chop that taught me to cook. ...She looked thru the fridge and cupboards. Found chops, onion, mushrooms, cream and left over champagne - it was delicious! And I realised the beauty of being able to "just throw it in."
Greetings from Copenhagen. Spent a might drinking wine and putting the world to rights. As you do.
And - as you were. Wink

OiMissus · 25/09/2012 23:51

(He he he! The beauty of "left-over champagne"!! Ha ha.
Was probably Sekt.)
G'night. X

Can someone tell ds that 6am is not play time and that he is too young to play woth an ipad he makes a beeline for it and then tantrums when i take it off him Confused

LittleMissFlustered · 26/09/2012 08:18

Not a hope in hell Figgy bth my boys are morning people, and obsessed with the shinies >_<

Octoboy started the day by throwing up all over himself, me and the bed. Classy!

mopsytop · 26/09/2012 08:30

On dear LMF exact same here. 2 voms so far. Me and the bed (all over my beautiful expensive Siberian goose down pillow ) and then all over husband/kitchen floor. She has been vomiting since fri night now. GP didn't seem worried and said just a bug but how long do bugs last? Fri night-sat might she was vomiting all day after any food or drink but Sun, mon, tues only in the evening. But now in the morning again. This seems weird to me. No temp though. And hasnt eaten anything new except prawns (in fish pie) on fri but if it was an allergy ad it last this long?

LittleMissFlustered · 26/09/2012 08:38

If its gastro enteritis it can last what feels like forever:(

Hope she's feeling less sick soon:)

Figgygal · 26/09/2012 08:44

Oh dear so many sick babies!!

Dh is up today and is currently doing breakfast and dressing with DS, News of the morning Little one has decided that he can stand up and pulled himself up on the sofa of course it was in pursuit of the iPad Confused which we thought was out of reach he is very impressed with himself!!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 26/09/2012 09:32

LMF & Mopsy Hope the vomiting stops soon.

I've got Sky home from nursery today as she is still quite chesty. However, we had a better night sleep thanks to calpol, teething powder & karvol drops Grin

anairofhope · 26/09/2012 10:13

Hope is 10 months old today :)

I have a cold and feel ill.

Its photo day at airs school today.

When air was at nursary they only changed him at the allocated time. I would get in notebook 2) wet 1)dirty or 1) dry 2)wet and i had to send bum cream and they would put it on all the time. They also only give them drinks at snack and dinner time not inbetween.

Kitty5824 · 26/09/2012 11:07

Yesterdays snotty sneezes have indeed developed into total snot monster. It's the first time we ('cos I've obviously got it too!) had a cold since we stopped BF. Which at least means I can medicate myself!! But that would mean leaving the house, so maybe not....

He was up pretty much all night, but I've managed to get him to nap from 6.30 till now so I've had a decent sleep this morning at leastHmm

Was feeling quite sorry for myself, until I remembered all the snot and vomit, broken toes, bleeding babies, etc etc.

I'm so glad I've got this thread. I would feel so out of my depth without you lot!

My £1 stash of clothes is reasonable quality. Mostly highstreet, one pair of cord trousers is very worn at the knee (these will be his new outfit for messy play!!) some of the vests are a bit stained, but will just dump them on a hot wash. Am very pleased!!

There are a couple of t-shirts with Little Brother on them. Which DS isn't! Any of you want them?

Xiaoxiong · 26/09/2012 11:46

So sorry to hear everyone's ill!! I hope all babes and parents feel better soon. We're luckily all hale and hearty here, DS's snots and Dickensian orphan cough seem to have cleared up completely and he slept through the night again so we are all quite well rested.

If only I wasn't having a comedy pratfall sort of day - you know, hole in tights, too-short skirt riding up so I'm pulling it down every 5 minutes, forgot umbrella in the rain so hair has gone sproing, Oyster out of cash so held up fuming queue of commuters at barrier, slipped on wet floor in Waterloo station, emailed the wrong person at work because their names are so similar...Blush I should just crawl in a hole really and try again tomorrow.

In other news I have just been sent some Polarn O Pyret codes which can be used online if anyone is looking - not 45 items for £1 bargainous but they do do very good winter stuff in particular (as you'd expect from a Scandi company I guess). I bought a fleece jacket for DS in the sale, so I think I'm going to get the baby waterproof coat that the fleece pops into for him, and some thermals.

This baby literally will not let me put her down. I also have to feed her 5ml of dioralyte every 5 minutes and she's constantly wailing because she is hungry and thirsty but she just throws up if I give her more. Also on 15 minute nappy checks as have a bag in it to catch her wee for a urine sample. So she can't nap and is cross about that too. I am so tired!

KateM77 · 26/09/2012 13:49

((hugs)) for mopsy and minim and Get Well Soon to all the other poorly ones out there.

xiao hope your day has improved. I hate days like that!

The toe is now an interesting variety of colours, bruised all over, and I think I've damaged the ligaments. I am able to walk and drive today though, albeit a little uncomfortably.

Slightly late addition to the gifts for kids discussion, but I have found these websites, which are good:

Xiaoxiong · 26/09/2012 17:35
