Shiny new thread: we forgot to discuss the title this time!

Oh heck, hope she perks up soon:(

Boo is at the doctors in an hour and a half. Rash looks suspiciously like scarlatina. Highly infectious but usually tame. Gah! What's the betting Octoboy comes down with it too? The elder minion is on a residential trip, so I hope she doesn't come out with it, or I'll be persona non grata at school for sure >_

KateM77 · 25/09/2012 12:41

Get well soon to all the poorly babies, and coffee all round for the tired Mummies.

All actually well here at the moment. DS slept through 7-7, as did DD. DD at nursery today and DS had swimming this morning. I'm now sitting enjoying the peace whilst he has a nice long post-swimming nap Smile.

NorthernChinchilla · 25/09/2012 12:53

Yeah, Tuesday from hell. The meeting I had this morning, which I'd sent the paperwork out for (with the time), I had down as starting at 10.30am; the VIPs (relatively speaking) had it at 9am, and the host organisation had it as 'cancelled'.
Not been called by nursery again so DS is probably OK.

The only things that's made me smile so far is that I saw a personalised numberplate, which is obviously slightly behind the times, which was MI55 DSM Grin!

Right, back to work....

F chops seems to have joined in the rumpus on the night. He was up between 2.30 and 4.30 just rocking about in his cot. Could get him to sleep again but he woke up again frequently until I went to bed with him at 4.30 in the chest frog position. Eyes feel like total crap today. Perhaps he got too much sleep in the day yesterday... Hmm shorter nap needed this afternoon.

Kitty5824 · 25/09/2012 15:24

Just collected my latest ebay purchase. A bundle of 9-12 month baby boy clothes. Listed as being approx 30 pieces. Got it home and there are actually 42! And I paid......£1. I tried to give her a fiver, but she refused. Grin

Now must go and make lemon meringue pie for DH birthday dinner. Sod the diet!

seven77 · 25/09/2012 15:54

Hope all of the poorly LO's are better soon, DD is snotty but otherwise fine. DS seems to have randomly joined in with the night waking though, nothing wrong, just awake. Hope the others avoid the lurgy LMF.

kitty what a bargain! Are they nice bits?

oi is it just generally easy jet or have they done something in particular?

KateM77 · 25/09/2012 17:57

Gah! Knew I was having too much good luck compared to the rest of you....think I may have broken my toe due to an unfortunate collision with a footstool when whisking DD to the loo. I don't suppose there's anything that can be done other than splinting it to the next toe even if it is broken? Can hardly walk, think driving's going to be rather tricky, and I live in a village where you need to drive to get anywhere Sad

LittleMissFlustered · 25/09/2012 18:08

Poorly toe sucks:( I think you can only splint Kate :(

Kitty Epic bargain!

Boo has strep throat:( Swab has been taken to find out what flavour. His throat is red raw, as well as his joints. Can we get a break ordered please? I'll share it with you all.

Right. Coffee!

mopsytop · 25/09/2012 18:18

Oh dear. Misfortune appears to be the order of the day :( here's hoping tomorrow is better! Minim has been the grumpiest/clingiest of all grumpy cling-ons today, which hopefully means she's on the mend. When she's truly miserable she's cuddly and silent. Grumpy and clingy is recovery stage I think! I am exhausted! But fingers crossed she's on the mend. 24 hrs since she has vommed ... Hope I'm not tempting fate ...

Figgygal · 25/09/2012 19:01

God DS has not stopped crying and moaning since he got home he's not come back with his book from cm telling me how much sleep he has had today am suspecting not much Sad what a racket!!
I blame him for me burning my tea ....had to cook for myself as dh still Ill in bed.

Dh goes away on Saturday for a week tonight has been a good test it could have been worse.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 25/09/2012 19:25

Northern Love that number plate Grin

Kitty Gotta love a goo bargain Smile

Kate That's pants. They can only splint it.

It's going to be a long night Sad my poorly little lady is having trouble settling.

NorthernChinchilla · 25/09/2012 19:35

So, lemme see, we have:

  • Vomiting baby hopefully on the mend
  • A bed-ridden DH
  • Snotty babies x 756434857920257
  • A respiratory tract infection
  • A UTI hopefully disappearing
  • A broken toe
  • Strep throat

And eight Sads on this page alone.

Just a normal 24 hours in the life of the Dec '11 crew, yay Confused

As well as that break, I think we all need a box of robust health and germ repellent wrapped up under the tree with a sparkly bow...

Have you landed safely Oi, despite Easyjet's best attempts?

Enjoy the pie kitty, it's always good to do something sweet and lardy for the OH's birthday treat! I did a massive choccie cake back in May for DP, and may do chocolate fondant puds this weekend.

Am off to experiment with pork chops and sauces, not tried it before and have no receipe, but sure it'll be fine Grin!

NorthernChinchilla · 25/09/2012 19:36

Couldn't believe it when I saw it DSM, what are the chances?!

Oh, and nine Sads now... hope she settles soon.

BJR · 25/09/2012 19:59

Oh dear, hope all the poorly/broken people start to feel better soon.

I shall add a spotty baby to the collection. Picked him up from nursery today to be told he spent most of it crying and had a grand total of zero naps not even 5 minutes. Got him home to find he is covered from head to toe in spots, i'm surprised they didn't notice.

Question for those using nurseries (and anyone else who can tell me if i'm being too PFB) DS's nappy was dirty when I picked him up today and he usually comes home with bad nappy rash that clears up quickly on his days at home. He's only there two days a week at the moment, but in the last 3 weeks his nappy has been dirty when i've got there 3 times (and looked like it had been that way for a while). Is it being PFB to mention it to them?

LittleMissFlustered · 25/09/2012 20:19

I'd be having a word, looks like they're not checking nappies often enough. In fact, I'd point out he's always dirty, and he only ever has rash when he's with them. It's pretty naff behaviour.

Boo is asleep. Octoboy is asleep. My bangers and mash is cooking nicely:o

NorthernChinchilla · 25/09/2012 20:21

Oh... I wouldn't say you're being PFB BJR. DS has only been at nursery about three weeks, but don't think we've ever picked him up and he's had a dirty nappy. And the fact that he was covered in spots and they hadn't noticed would concern me a bit as well. Personally, I wouldn't be happy, and would definitely speak to them at least.

Btw, have you spoken to a Doc/NHS Direct or someone about the spots, what have they said?

mopsytop · 25/09/2012 20:23

No bjr not precious at all. Babies sdn't be left sitting around in dirty happier. Mine change her even if she does one just as I arrive to get her!

I defs tempted fate w my last post. Projectile vomit all over me and (luckily wooden) floor. Grim. Why is she only
Vomiting in the evenings? It's weird. Already woken up twice crying and only been in bed an hr :( bad night ahead again for 5th night in a row, I fear. Knackered and headache starting so am off to bed now. Hope everyone has an ok night!

mopsytop · 25/09/2012 20:24

Nappies not happier! Gah!

Figgygal · 25/09/2012 20:33

Bjr no you not being pfb at all mention it! My cm delivers DS home every night in a new nappy and he seems to get changed 4/5 times a day nursery shouldn't be any different u definitely don't need that

CherryBlossom27 · 25/09/2012 20:44

Ha! I think you've summed it up nicely Northern!

On a happier front, DS slept for 3 hours this morning and an hour and a half this afternoon, so 5.5 hours in total - hopefully all the rest will speed up his recovery! :) We asked our friend to look after DS today and he was really good! She said he was missing us when we left but was ok as long as he was being held and then had a bottle and went to sleep on his bottle! It's the first time anyone apart from FIL has looked after him, so I'm pleased he was ok.

BJR no you're not being pfb! When I looked around a nursery, they said they change nappies 3 hourly and do change nappies in between if required. I'd say I change DS's nappy every 4 hours at home, I tend to do a nappy change after each feed and his bum is fine. Definitely ask them to change it more regularly and tell them why.

Right, I'm off to bed for an early night and for read my book! Fingers crossed for a peaceful night for all!

MissRee · 25/09/2012 20:48

BJR do you know how many nappy changes they do during the day? Might be worth noting how many nappies you put in his bag/how many are left when you pick him up. Will give you an indication of whether its just bad luck that he poops as you pick him up or they're not changing him frequently enough. I'd definitely say something though - he shouldn't be left sitting in poop and certainly not to he extent he gets nappy rash, poor little man Sad

I would also mention the spots - surely someone would have picked up on it during the day? Regardless, they need to know if its anything potentially contagious, don't they?

BJR · 25/09/2012 20:49

Ok, thank you! I'm glad to get a bit of reassurance that it doesn't sound quite right and it's not just me. Will talk to them next time he goes in.

Spoke to NHS direct about spots and as he seems ok in himself once he was home and doesn't have temp they said to call GP in the morning for appointment if he's still spotty. It's happened a few times, GP thought it was allergies last time.

Poor minim, hope she has an ok night.

BJR · 25/09/2012 21:06

They have 3 times a day where all the babies are changed so about every three hours, plus extras if nappies are dirty in between. They tell you at the end of the day if they were dirty or wet nappies. He only ever seems to have 3 changes even if two were dirty. Which makes me a bit suspicious that he is in the nappy untill the allocated change time regardless if its dirty or not.
