Shiny new thread: we forgot to discuss the title this time!

Oh no missree, how stressful for you both. Hopefully it will turn out to be a non-significant finding (known as an incidental-oma) rather than anything icky. ((((hug)))

We had hallow'een fun, I'm a tolerant Christian but with many pagan mates, and think a good grounding in traditional festivals is in the public interest. So the DDs had a little tour de whotsit around the pumpkin-adorned houses and then we retired with our own pumpkin, some fairy lights, and a large bowl of toad dribble (sweets at the bottom of slimy green and red jelly). Goes down a treat every year.

MissRee I do hope that the scans come back clear:)

We had about eight trickletreaters all told. The minions dished out sweets, and have gone to bed quite happybthatbtheres a fair amount of chocolate left for them to snarf while watching a film tomorrow[hgrin]

Right, to bed. Octoboy has even hourly fr a couple of nights, and running a minor temp. Tonight he's not hot, and I am hopeful of going back to two hourly at the least. Operation gut my room begins next week. Much delayed but I'll get there!

Night all:)

Against my general instructions, DP bought sweets and was prepared to entertain trick or treaters on the grounds that we now have a child and so must join in bloody softie. I've banned it as round here we get teens demanding money with menaces.

Only two knocked, one whilst he was on the loo and the others buggered off before he opened the door!

Now we'll just have to eat the chocolate, dammit [hgrin]

MissRee, that must be horribly scary. And you can't say 'don't worry' because it's impossible. Good luck in trying to partially ignore it until the results are back, and everything crossed that they're just ruling it out.

By the way, seven, are you doing OK?

I've done a 12 hour day today and spent too much time at train stations in the cold. Me and the large gin I've ingested as a rewardy-treat are going to bed...

Hi everyone, we have survived the holiday!

We are definitely jet lagged, DS and I slept from 3pm today onwards, DS has just had a bottle of milk and I'm hoping that he will sleep until 6am! Unlikely, but possible!

It took us 2 nights in HK to get used to the time difference, but it seems to be taking longer at home.

Anyway, we had a great time, DS behaved like an angel and has perfected the art of waving (usually to get attention from total strangers on the bus/tube!). FIL was getting on my nerves by the end with his constant fussing, but I managed to just bite my tongue.

Highlights of HK were trekking up the mountain to see the waterfalls, visiting Tsim Sha Tsui and taking a trip on the Star Ferry and introducing DS to everyone and generally relaxing.

Highlights of Tokyo were going up the Tokyo Tower at night, the Sky Tree, the friendliness & politeness of the people, the delicious food and the Sensoji Temple, seeing a wedding at the Meiji Jingu Shrine and people watching!

Just trying to catch up on the thread, but hope you had a great birthday Oi and hope everything is ok MissRee

Need to catch up properly, just to say that although I'm missing my BOi, I am enjoying my time in China.
My birthday was fun, and tonight we will transfer to shanghai so we'll get the opportunity to see just a little bit of it at night. Grin
Back home tomorrow!! Grin

Thread titles - something about health? Illness of parents and babies seems to have been a theme of this thread...

Speaking of which I am thinking about you MissRee and really hope everything is ok with DP.

Thanks ladies. We're trying not to think about it - he has to go back for results on the 21st. Consultant said he wanted to see him next week but his secretary said he's already triple booked for those two weeks! I'm sure if its anything sinister, he can call DP?

Sooooo it's November! Pinch, punch and all that jazz.

Just ordered Freya a new buggy. We went for the Mamas and Papas Pulse - a bargain at £76.50 in the sale! I desperately want to get rid of the bulky travel system now she's that much bigger so cheapy stroller it is.

Thread titles surely need some reference to upcoming birthdays!!

DS and I off home to Scotland today so bags are all packed and pathetic travel pushchair out of the loft it's practically folded over under his weight Grin might look at that mamas and papas one!!

My choice for lightweight umbrella fold buggy is the Silver Cross Fizz. It's light, comfy and has a reversible liner which is awesome for those days when mess follows Boo you around. Was gutted when he finally outgrew it:(

I don't know if Air has namechanged but someone named AnEerieAirOfHorror has started a terrifying thread about a giant bonfire in next door's back garden. I hope it's not our Air, the last thing she needs is a fecking great bonfire 20 feet from her back door!!

Am liking SMS's suggestion for the combo of birthdays and germs... Also 'Dec 11- Cakes, colds, but no catastrophes (please!)' would sum it all up!

Working from home today so can have a quick post in my lunchbreak [hsmile]

It'll be lovely when you're home Oi, bet the BOi's hair will have grown another foot in the meantime!

I got to take DS to nursery today and will pick him up, which I always enjoy. Otherwise today is just a flurry of report writing, but it's going well so far. To begin with the bloody work computer wouldn't recognise the wifi, so did a bit of turning off and on again and it sorted, but very nearly turned the air blue.

Oh, and DS slept through again last night, he's been a bit out of sorts on the sleeping after the bloody changing of the clocks, so looks like we're getting back to normal. Don't know if any of you have had the same problem in dragging the DCs to what is the normal time?

Report
BeeMyBaby · 01/11/2012 13:46

Northern No problem with DD2 but DD1 keeps getting up before 7, which means I've got to time my shower very carefully before work and not looking forward to the weekend.

Freya got up half hour earlier on Sunday but during the week I always have to wake her anyway so no change! I'm hoping that by the weekend she will be adjusted and sleep in til 8 as usual Grin

We've had a bit of a shocker with the clocks changing. DS1 up and chirpy at 5 which then wakes up DS2. Managed to get to after 6 today so hope we continue this way and poss score a 7 at the weekend. We've ordered a gro clock for DS1 si hope that might help too.

NorthernChinchilla · 01/11/2012 16:33

hawthers, we'll have to gang up on the Forces of Those-Whose-Babies-Sleep-Past-5am looking at you especially MissZombRee Ratbags, the lot o'ya [hgrin]

I get excited if DS manages 5.30am during the week...

Brief break to eat pear, and now will have a quick tidy of the kitchen to clear my mind after massive amount of non-stop writing and a load of calls from work about another issue that's cropped up!

BJR · 01/11/2012 17:09

Just taken DS to a 1st birthday party, he was like a tornado. All of the other babies play, have mad moments, then go back to playing. Mine seemed to have more energy than the 5 other babies put together Grin

I've come home and bought two books on toddler taming off amazon Blush I figured it's only going to get more fun so I might as well start reading up on it!

Have yet to see if clock changes have had an impact on DS as his sleep has been terrible this week whilst hes been poorly, much better last night though thankfully.

Sorry to hear things are worrying for your DP Miss Ree hope all turns out ok.

Greetings from bonny Scotland DS has his 17 month cousin to play with for next 4 days. Loopy exhausting to watch!!

In terms of sleeping I don't think DS has ever done a 7, we've amazingly had 3 6.45s this week that's a record!! It was 6.05 again this morning which we just get on with anything before 6 is not tolerated!!
