Shiny new thread: we forgot to discuss the title this time!

NorthernChinchilla · 28/10/2012 21:47

Aaargh, the warbling's starting from his bedroom, here we go....

MissZombRee · 28/10/2012 22:00

Hope the warbling ceases soon Northern. I put a ratty foofster to bed at 6.30 instead of 7.30 as she was being a grisly moobag!

I feel you on the carbs SMS. Had pizza for dinner and am now a bloated fatster! Bleh.

SpectralMissSpooky · 29/10/2012 06:13

Took a good six hours for the bloated horrible gut-cagey feeling to go. Today will mostly be an experiment in eating rice crispies:/

BJR · 29/10/2012 07:52

Urg biohazard alert. DS has a tummy bug so i've had to take the day off work to look after him poor little monkey must have been feeling rubbish as he was sick in the night, didn't even cry just fell straight back to sleep in it. He then proceded to do the same in my bed so we ended up sleeping on towels.

I think its going to be a day on the sofa!

SpectralMissSpooky · 29/10/2012 08:04

Ooh, sympathies BJR, hate the middle of the night icks:(

OiMissus · 29/10/2012 08:08

Rice Krispies ... Envy I didn't have time for breakfast. I'm stood waiting for a train to take me to the airport, on my way to China. Sad back Friday. Miss my munchkin already.
BOi didn't sleep well last night. I hope it gets better during the week. But he wasn't sick. Sympathies bjr.

mopsytop · 29/10/2012 08:45

Good luck on the economy flight Oi, hope it's not as awful as expected!

Minim up at 6, got to nursery extra early. She doesn't know the clocks have gone back. She's got a bad cough, hoping it doesn't turn into a chest infection, the girl at nursery said a couple of the babies had chest infections :(

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 29/10/2012 09:08

Oi Safe flight to China.

BJR Hope the bug disappears real soon.

LMF hope your feeling better.

Mopsy Hopefully MiniM doesn't have a chest infection. Although Sky has already had one and steroids cleared her right up Smile

Sky was in bed fast asleep by 5:30 last night and woke up at 6:30 this morning Grin She's gone to nursery and Darcie is having a day with daddy and he is taking her to movies to see Frankenweenie Grin

I've come to work even tho I shouldn't be here really as still feel crappy Sad

BeeMyBaby · 29/10/2012 13:53

Figgy I remember when DD1 was about 18 months old and we took her to soft play and older children when in the 3 and under section, one of which LANDED on her, its fair to say I was shrieking and crying and soft play has been tarred for me forever.

DD2 is asleep in her own cot for the second time (first time was yesterday), ever. Decided to try to 'sleep train' for her naps to try get ready to move her into the cot overnight at Christmas. Poor thing is terrified :(

BJR · 29/10/2012 17:05

DS has spent the day cuddled next to me looking sorry for himself, he's had a little bit of milk and gave him some plain toast to nibble on which resulted in him being sick on the high chair. So i'm not going into work tomorrow either, luckily my boss has been really good about it and hasn't given me a hard time for not coming in.

Hope all the other poorly babies and mummys are feeling better soon. Figgy and Bee that sounds a bit traumatising with the soft play, I may wait a bit longer before I take DS then!

Hope the next few days fly by for you Oi and then you'll be back to your Boi.

SpectralMissSpooky · 29/10/2012 17:44

Octoboy has been a clingon today, and is currently sat steaming as his temp was up at 39.1° an hour ago:( Hope all the poorly ones have nice quiet nights:)

MissZombRee · 29/10/2012 18:06

I think Freya is joining the bio-hazzers with the snots again Sad hope all baby's and mummy's feel better soon!

Hope the week flies for you Oi, have a safe trip.

Have just ordered one if these fir Freta for Christmas:

www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_145519_10001

If you quote MORRISONS at checkout you get an extra 5% off too Grin

mopsytop · 29/10/2012 18:33

Ohhh MissZombRee, I want one of those for minimopsy for Christmas! Thanks for the link. That's her only Christmas pressie from me really, apart from me wrapping up her 12-18 months vests, clothes etc. so she can have the fun of tearing off the wrapping paper, plus I might as well start off as I mean to go on (with the necessary clothes etc. disguised as presents).

Minim is not the only snotbucket in this house, unfortunately. I have joined the gang. I don't let it sit all over my face though or try and wipe my face on anyone's shoulder! Minimopsy is forever wiping her drool/snot all over me. I can't wipe her face often enough to escape! We both have horrible hacking coughs, and I have to say, it is hurting my chest to cough so I am praying E isn't getting chesty too. I am prone to that so hopefully she will escape.

Oi I am guessing you are sitting uncomfortably in economy class right now. I can't say I envy you but hopefully there are some good films to watch. And nice boozies, gin and tonic preferably!

AWCH it is SO annoying when husbands turn their hands to baking and do brilliantly. My husband is the resident chef in our household - I can do perfectly nice basic stuff, e.g. curries, stews, pies etc. but he does amazing things and can do flavour pairings that I wouldn't even think of. But I always like to do the baking as I love doing it, plus I would like one culinary area where I can carry off the palms. But whenever he steps into the baking arena he kicks my ass. It is very annoying!!!

BJR, hope baba feels better soon and same for octoboy LMF (or is it SMS now?)

DSM hope you feel better, you sound like you've been having a really rough time, you poor thing.

Hello everyone else! aethel any news on the house front? we have heard nothing re: the house we made an offer on - the estate agents said they'd ring if anyone had a second viewing/made an offer. The longer we hear nowt, the better, as it means no activity and maybe if it continues they will consider our offer ... although I don't want to be buying a house that's hard to sell either. Hmmmm.

Was planning to start week 5 of couch-5k today but my chest will not allow, unfortunately. But maybe tomorrow or Wednesday, fingers crossed. I way prefer running in the cold weather, as I don't get too hot, but my face still goes BRIGHT red. I look such a state when I exercise! But it does feel great.

Right, this is a really long post, because I am on my laptop instead of my phone for one. Better go get minim ready for bed. Hopefully she will get into the new times tonight, I don't fancy getting up before 6am again, ugh.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 29/10/2012 19:20

Mopsy Hope you & MiniM feel better doing

I came home from work early due to pains in my legs. Would of been unsafe for me to drive home at 6pm as every time I put my foot down I'd get shooting & searing pains up my legs Sad even laying here I've got pains in my legs, especially my knees Sad

Aethelfleda · 29/10/2012 20:33

No news here, two more viewings last Sat but no feedback, the cheeky-offer couple have gone on half term holiday without a further offer (hope it's not you mopsy, I just can't afford to trade up if we take that one!)

Sympathy for all the poorly beebs. Teething continues, and with it we're finallytrying to teach DS how to settle in the cot properly (have been wussing out up to now and cuddling him to sleep. I know, i know...) trouble is if he doesn't learn then on nigjts when he conks late we are stuck not putting him down. Now have a numb arm and 15 minutes later he's conked.... Hope it lasts....

Thanks for DSM, sorry your body is being a bit poo atm.

for the ill babies.

Having a moment about going to the EPU, I know I've mc-ed I don't want to waste a morning having someone tell me I have because I know it being confirmed will properly set me off on a depressed low.
But I know I need to go to make sure there are no bits left over.
Someone give me a gentle please?

Figgygal · 29/10/2012 21:21

Aw awch really feel for u

Aethelfleda · 29/10/2012 21:22

(((((hug))))) AWCH. Good luck for the EPU. Remember when you do feel waves of sadness, that the sadness comes from the deep love you have for your almost to be baby. It's part of your story, and and it's OK to grieve. Xxxx

[flower] for AWCH and DSM

NorthernChinchilla · 29/10/2012 21:26

There's no doubt it will be a bit grim, but maybe think of it as making sure that your body is ready and healthy for the next one? Is there anything that you can get in place (time off, family to chat to, film with DH) in advance to help get you over the low?
Best of luck (is it actually tomorrow?) and hope it goes swiftly.

That is an epic post mopsy! Are you feeling better about the nasty editor's letter by the way- hope you're planning to submit your research elsewhere?

And your poor little DS BJR, that's awful, he must be unwell. Hope you're on the mend soon.

Tonight is jobs, jobs, jobs, they just don't seem to stop at the moment Sad and work is knackering and finishing late. DS woke at 4.45am Zomb, an hour earlier than usual, but amazingly did allow us to get a bit more sleep once I pulled him into bed.

Right, off to hang the washing out....

Figgygal · 29/10/2012 21:29

Found an octonaut ball pit for DS bday/Xmas finally let the over the top DS pressie buying extravaganza commence.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 30/10/2012 06:58

AWCH Hugs

Oi Hope you got to China ok?

I'm having a day to rest, although need to go and get mine & Darcie's hair cut.

Aethelfleda · 30/10/2012 08:51

Hope you're a little better this morning DSM. i'm still being plagued with very annoying low grade backache: nothing exciting or extreme, just persistant nagging ache that's worse on lifting stuff. What's that you say, nine kilo baby? Oh, you don't count then? Ta for that....

and I'm going back onto myfitnesspal, mostly cos the backache has dented my exercise attempts and so i've been the same weight for three weeks. I still have almost 2 stone to lose, so maintaining is not good enough!!!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 30/10/2012 09:04

Aethel Thanks. I've still got pains in my legs but they don't seem so bad today. However, it is only early lol. Besides I'm on my own with both the girls today so have to push thru the pain.

Apart from getting our hair's cut. I need to go to Matalan when my wages go in today to get Darcie a new coat and some leggings. Sky some socks.

Also need to attempt a food shop, Iceland is calling me today.

I also need to start adding up the xmas presents I've brought so far and make time to do some Halloween stuff!

Kitty5824 · 30/10/2012 10:22

Happy birthday Oi

Am off to buy paint and varnish for our now empty house. Dh is on gardening leave till the end of Nov so the plan is to repaint whole house, sell all the furniture that won't fit, move in, clean up the rental then hopefully we can approach our landlords to break our contract with the place looking amazing. Oh and i'm still half heartedly job hunting.

Current applications include various shops, postman, ward clerk, reservations agent and hotel night porter!!!!!
