Shiny new thread: we forgot to discuss the title this time!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittleMissFlustered · 20/10/2012 12:05

I bought half a litre of lactulose... She will poo!:o

Just started the younger minion's Christmas box, big playmobil set in tesco for £25! Magic set for the elder one. She's about done now:)

Happy Saturday all, I'm away home to hide this stuff before they come home!

LittleMissFlustered · 20/10/2012 12:06

Sorry DSM hadn't noticed the page shift! Hope you're on the mend soon:(

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/10/2012 12:55

LMF Hope your elder minion feels better soon. Well done on your xmas boxes.

We've just brought Sky's main birthday present - a fisher price baby grand piano - bargain in Toys r us! £60 knocked down to £34.99 Grin

We are going to buy lots of Weeble stuff for Sky for Xmas along with her slide for garden and she is done Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 20/10/2012 13:27

Octoboy is proving awkward, so will probably get very little. He'll get more enjoyment out of the minions' stuff anyway I suspect:o

GeeandTee · 20/10/2012 13:45

6 nights of sleeping through now! Was so weird that it went from hourly waking to sleeping through overnight. I don't actually feel any better for it yet, worse in fact. Think I was running on adrenaline and now have relaxed a bit feels like the last 10 months are catching up with me!

DH ill today so I don't get a rest either mopsy. Also a bit worried I'm going to catch whatever sickness thing he's got, then we're really in trouble! Also don't want DD to get it (DS already had it) and risk ruining her sleeping through!

oi not on facebook so can't see your lovely nursery. Thanks for the birthday invitation but we're a bit too far away! Will definitely raise a glass for you on 3rd though.

LittleMissFlustered · 20/10/2012 19:31

Octoboy just spewed all over his pumperoo. Ew!

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 20/10/2012 19:46

Gee Hope your sleeping thru continues Smile

LMF Ewww hope Octoboy hasn't got the bug!

I'm in bed now as my joints are really hurting my hips & knees more so Sad

hawthers · 20/10/2012 19:59

Up in the northern lands for a night with lovely old uni friends. But oh bob and shitty shit the painful period pains I had a couple of weeks ago appear to have been ovulation as the real deal is starting now. Think this is really going to be bad. At least we have some house warming champagne to numb the pain. Best get a top up!

NorthernChinchilla · 20/10/2012 20:34

Wahey! Am back from Bristol, and managed to get back in time to give DS his evening feed. Am now relaxing with a fecking enormous cocktail Wine, and looking forward to our curry.
Conference was very good, but given the stats (which, in broader terms, I already knew) about the numbers of children in care who end up in prison, it just made me want to adopt. Very, very Sad.

So sorry to hear so many others are going through grim illnesses of all stripes. This is the really un-fun bit of parenting; not sure which is worse, being an ill parent to a well child, or vice versa...
I had to totally Mum up about the fact that DS cried when he came to me and went back for DP- DP's been at home with him four days straight, and DS had not slept all day, so I didn't take it personally! He was happy to get his bf though.

Have fun up north hawthers, hope the period pains don't bugger up the night out, they sound awful.

And so pleased to hear about the six night success Gee, but if it continues you probably will suffer for a while whilst your body re-adjusts. It's the same syndrome as people getting ill when they go on holiday, or (do ignore this bit) dying when they stop work..you keep on going for as long as you have to then keel over when you get to relax Confused!

mopsytop · 20/10/2012 21:14

Great news Gee. You'll catch up eventually and begin to feel normal again.

Massive sympathies hawthers, I too get evil mittelschmerz (ovulation pain) and period pain nightmares, along with such heavy bleeding the first two days that every month I wonder if I can be normal. So I massively sympathise with you. It sucks. I was told by all and sundry that it improves once you've had a baby. Ha. As if! The migraines improving was also a myth. Started back on the daily anti-migraine meds this week. Heigh ho, such is life. Hope the champagne is helpIng!!

MissRee · 20/10/2012 21:58

Yay for MiniGee Grin

It's very sad Northern. DP was an officer in a young offenders institute and some of the stories he could tell you are horrific. One if the lads in his care a few years back was in the news - the reason he was remanded was because he boarded up his ex-gf's house and put a petrol bomb through her letterbox, killing her and her entire family. He was 14. Truly shocking Sad We worked out that he would be almost 50 before he would even be considered for parole.

Hope you feel better soon DSM. I had terrible hip and knee pain during pregnancy so can sympathise a little.

I'm not on the FB group either Oi but sure it looks lovely!

Another one who was told that "all your lady problems will be solved when you have a baby" here, Mopsy. Needless to say, they lied!!!

NorthernChinchilla · 20/10/2012 22:10

Oh yeah MissRee, mopsy, I remember my GP telling me, age 13, when I'd been taken in again with crippling period pains that it would be all better when I'd had a baby Confused......... Weirdly, mine improved past all recognition when I'd been on long term contraception- when I came off it, my periods could actually sneak up on me they were that painless!

That is awful though about that lad.... One of the good things from this conference was finding out that the number of kids in custody had been reduced by 44% in 5 years, ie. they'd been redirected to health/mental health care. If there were just proper investment in looking after kids in care, the improvement in kids' lives, and the reduction in costs across the public services would be immense.

It'll be Fresh Meat and another glass of wine for me, yay!

mopsytop · 20/10/2012 22:23

Ooooh new season of Fresh Meat, excellent! Thanks for the reminder Northern!

Have indulged in 2 solitary glasses of cava (husband away), some M&S prawn dumplings (nom) and a nice read of my book, so in bed now after a busy day playing with minim before my nice relax. A cpl of alcoholic beverages and a quiet read has become an incomparable luxury since having a baby. Preferable to night out even. Hope you are all able to indulge in some rest and relaxation! I know I'll be up at 2 for several hours of crying so I very much enjoyed my peaceful evening (3 wakeups in fact, but easily settled). Better sleep now though. My bet is 2.30, if she lasts until 3 bonus points!

mopsytop · 20/10/2012 22:26

(can scarcely believe we had several weeks of 7pm-7am now. It seems like an impossible dream, as though I had, in fact, imagined it.)

LittleMissFlustered · 21/10/2012 02:47

Incoming migraine... Teeth rattling in my head kind of one if the indicators are anything to go by. If I'm not back in a couple of days please send out a search party:(

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 21/10/2012 07:27

did not sleep well bloody joints Sad

BJR · 21/10/2012 07:37

I know what you mean Mopsy DS slept brilliantly at about 4 months it is now a distant dream.

Hope you've managed to get some sleep LMF and hope the evil migraine decides to go away.

DP has spent most of the weekend building stuff in the garage so i've been entertaining my parents, DS and DSS. Bring on work tomorrow for a break I think.

LittleMissFlustered · 21/10/2012 08:26

It's trying to break through, but I'm throwing all the painkillers I have at it. Know it's bad as my molars and wisdom teeth are aching >_<

Octoboy threw up on me no less than three times last night, and on himself and the furniture a further twice that I know of, possibly another once as his babygro was soaking when I went to check him earlier:( I foresee a day!

BJR I'd have given the spawns to the parents and hit my pit!:o

NorthernChinchilla · 21/10/2012 10:13

Blimey LMF, neither you nor the tentacled one sound well at all...

It appears your DP is subscribing to the 'shed theory' of masculinity at the moment BJR. Do you know what it actually is that he's constructing, or is he just in the shed, iyswim?

Just put DS down for his first nap- if I don't hear anything in 5 minutes I'm going to go and join DP in bed for a wee snooze...

Aethe Hope your viewing is positive Smile

Just eating a yummy roast beef lunch made by DH. He's also brought me new boots for work.

Now resting my sodding joints Sad

seven77 · 21/10/2012 13:00

Hope the viewing went well aethel.

mopsy I confess that I enjoy friday and Sunday nights when DH is at work, it's nice to be able to watch what i want and relax with my book and not have to speak to anyone

Sorry to hear of painful periods/migraines/joints and ill DC's. hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Sorry I've been AWOL for the last few days, I've been reading but not posting. I've just been so exhausted, why do I always forget how tired early pregnancy makes me? Anyway, been really sick this morning and now strangely feeling better.

MissRee · 21/10/2012 15:13

We have crawling! Grin and Sad in equal measures!

NorthernChinchilla · 21/10/2012 16:56

Ah, I look back on the 'sitting and playing' weeks with fondness MissRee! Well done Freya and get practising your 'NOOO!' for all occasions Grin

We've had a disaster, the bloody dishwasher's flashing up an error message and won't work. We'll need to call out an engineer to see if it can be fixed; if it can't, we'll have had that cost and then have to get a new one. Just what we don't need Sad

You must be suffering seven, the first trimester exhaustion is so grim, you have my utmost sympathy.
