another day, another viewing. My car is once again full of washing.

and we're not going to talk about the estate agents who want us to drop our asking price already

aethel I hope the house gets sorted out for you soon. It's not fun at all to be in limbo like that, or to be constantly tidying

We're back at the holiday cottage in Somerset for a long weekend as BIL was 40 yesterday. Not got off to a great start with DS this morning though. First he did a massive and very solid poo, then loads of phlegmy sick and was inconsolable. His skin is also so dry and sore, the doublebase isn't helping at all. And two more teeth are imminent. Not sure if all the sick was a bug or teething but he perked right up eventually and is now sleeping. Will have to see how he is for the rest of the day.

DP is currently getting tattooed Grin I am chuckling at his pain! I do childbirth, he does tattooes - only fair??? Grin

BeeMyBaby · 19/10/2012 13:49

I feel much better now as DD2 seems nice and normal with no words yet, I really need to stop comparing the two DDs or I'll go mad.

Just thinking its only a month and a half more of formula and then we can switch to normal cows milk, DD2 is always on the hunt for DD1s milk if she leaves it on the floor so it'll be good if she's actually allowed her very own, and much much cheaper... Ah the odd things you look forward to as a mother...

OiMissus · 19/10/2012 16:36

Have been AWOL so won't try and catch up properly -sorry.
aethel you've had loads of viewings - that would tell me your price matches the presentation, I wouldn't drop it yet - unless it puts you in the next tier of rightmove searches, then try "offers over".
Back later, jealous BOi....

LittleMissFlustered · 19/10/2012 17:21

I am growling at the stupid lack of answer-phone-bods in the callcentre that my energy supplier use. Gah.

Happy Friday all.

OiMissus · 19/10/2012 17:36

I hate call centres. Virgin is the worst I've ever encountered. It's a ruddy good job I love TiVo otherwise their poxy box would have flown through my window on a number of occasions!
In other news, I've had a productive week. BOi's nursery is almost finished. ( pix on fb), the front of the house has been prettified with 4 hanging baskets and 2 large pots with curly bushery. And it has been jetwashed. You should have seen the exodus of spiders! Yikes! And Shudder! In equal measure.
BOi has given up sleeping at nights. He believes that 2 twenty minute catnaps during the day are all that a growing BOi need... Sad
I'm out tonight for tapas with a few ladies and a plethora of wines and sangria. Bring it on!
Happy Friday all!!!! X

KateM77 · 19/10/2012 19:49

Poor little DS is not a happy boy. I think it's a combination of a virus and two teeth coming. He's covered in a rash, has a temp, no appetite and refusing water Sad. Rather than being droopy and cuddly he's spend the day thrashing about and crying. He's had nurofen and now gone to sleep, fingers crossed he'll be a bit better tomorrow or I don't know what we'll do as we're away from home and supposed to be partaking in family birthday celebrations.

Excellent work Oi!

jigglebum · 19/10/2012 20:51

Freya seems generally a bit better today but now DS is ill - bloody typical isnt it. DS went to bed at 6pm feeling very sorry for himself but not a peep since. he also fell and hit his head on a corner of a table at school so not sure that helped - am keeping an eye on him. Freya meanwhile has decided not to go to sleep tonight so far. At least when she was ill she was knackered and at least went to bed ok, even if she was up again in the night! DH went to pick up his new car this evening, so I was left with an ill DS and a screaming Freya who puked up all over me and her. I think she ate too much tea having not eaten anything all week.

Done nothing regarding christmas so far but that is normal! I do it all nearer the time but am stumped as what to buy Freya for either her birthday or christmas.

Am off to visit a friend tom with no children and am staying overnight - a night off hurrah! If DS is too ill though I wont be going.

jigglebum · 19/10/2012 20:52

Oh yes - beautiful nursery oi - how do you find the time!?

Aethelfleda · 19/10/2012 21:28

Lovely nursery oi. sadly can't do anything like that (even fi i had the time) simply as need new walls to do it on! We've perused rightmove this evening and I think we willl have to drop our price if the people who viewed today don't offer, just cos the other properties locally have reduced theirs slightly and we want to look more tempting than them at the same price IYSWIM. If we don't get an offer in the next 3-4 weeks our vendors will get twitchy and may change their mind about waiting for us...better to get an offer that's not necessarily huge, but is proceedable...

Have now officially lost the will to do anything. Watching Red Dwarf ten tonight. Then bed and hope TeethySpawn doesn't wake me up.

Eldest minion, after being sick at school earlier, is now possessed of pain of the digestives. She's got trapped wind/constipation by the look of it. Becoming a regular thing. Going to have to start forcing her to eat more fruit and veg, and drink yet more:( Just wish I could do more for her, she's in pain:( Can you get stool softened/laxatives for children? Not something I've ever had experience of.

MissRee · 19/10/2012 21:52

Ex's DD used to get cramps wind pains and we used to give her chewable tablet things - similar to windeze I think. Speak to a pharmacist maybes?

MissRee · 19/10/2012 21:52

I think you can give lactulose to children too?

mopsytop · 19/10/2012 21:54

Prunes are good LMF. If you whizz some up with orange juice, they're bearable. They really help hmmm well, move things along

Aethelfleda · 19/10/2012 22:34

Kiddies can have lactulose from the chemist lmf, 5ml twice a day plus plenty of fluids. Or if that's not effective your GP can prescribe something called pediatric Movicol sachets, they will literally debung anything.

Whoops, meant to be in bed.

OP posts:
LittleMissFlustered · 19/10/2012 23:37

Thanks folks, I'll go see the pharmacist tomorrow. She eats loads of veg and sift fruits. I think she needs to up her fluid intake a notch though. I'm not sure I can get her to eat prunes, but it's worth a bash!

OiMissus · 20/10/2012 00:06

Hola! I have been out dancing and merry-making! It was fab. So fab, in fact, that u booked the DJ for my 40th.Grin
3rd Nov ladies! You're all invited !
Hiccup bedtime. Something. More wine. Catch up laters. Something . Martini....Grin

mopsytop · 20/10/2012 06:51

Sounds like you had fun Oi!

I had a v interrupted night and then she decided 6.10 was getting up time. Just. Want. Sleep. :( husband away all weekend so no chance of a rest either.

Figgygal · 20/10/2012 07:31

Having been bunged up all of my childhood to extent of hospital stays and medical interventions (boak) yes lactulose senokot and fybogel can be given to children.

1st night away successful straight to sleep at bedtime and then 5.30am when up for bottle he's now crawling around the big room with his new baby jake book I bought yesterday and his tiger I won in an amusement arcade grabbing machine......I'm the queen of them won it for less than £2 and it's my 3rd win this year already won him a sooty and sweep.

Off to dartmoor zoological park today then either brixham or Torquay have a nice day ladies!!

OiMissus · 20/10/2012 09:45

Apparently BOi was a bit restless last night, but I was unconscious. Grin he did however decide that 6am was time to get up, so we did. Sad I even left DH in bed.
This party will be a cracker, but it's costing a fortune! Fireworks, DJ (Blush), solar fairy lights, food, booze,...
Can't believe I booked the DJ from the bar we went into last night! Hee hee! Oh well, it'll make it more like a proper party! And it's one less thing for me to worry about - he'll obviously bring his flashy disco lights too. Grin
Now I just need some friends! (No one from work is coming because I live so far away...or because they've already got a bonfire /firework thing organised. ...Or because they don't like me.)Sad

KateM77 · 20/10/2012 09:59

Coffee please, and lots of it.

Terrible night with DS, who barely slept. He's now asleep in the back of the car, and I'm sitting in a car park with him whilst DH takes DD to the cinema. She's never been before and will probably only last about 20mins, but it's only £1 each so worth a try. I may have to have a power nap while we're here.

I hope DD has continued sleeping a bit better gee. I don't know how you've coped. Two bad nights have nearly finished me off.

Hope things get on the move for your eldest today lmf
