Shiny new thread: we forgot to discuss the title this time!

Figgygal · 15/10/2012 07:38

Oh and congrats Gee

OiMissus · 15/10/2012 07:49

... That's it. From henceforth he shall be known as HellBOi. The little ......!!?@&£@!?)&&!

mopsytop · 15/10/2012 07:55

Ugh sleep deprived night here too. 11.30-1.30 and 3.30-5.30 just crying crying crying. She has been doing this for ten days now. Not cold, not hungry or thirsty. Tried calpol several nights but no difference. Don't know what's wrong with her! Could it be teething? She often woke up lots of times but this phase is different as she just cries and cries and we can't settle her although holding and cuddling her.

mopsytop · 15/10/2012 08:26

Also she has bloodshot eyes for the past few days. Anyone have any ideas why that may be?

OiMissus · 15/10/2012 12:11

They are in league with each other! No sleep here either, just lots of crying. It's DH's first day if his new job too, so not ideal. I'm off work to decorate.
GPs have just picked up HellBOi, so I'll grab lunch and make a start.
He was really bad last night. And then when I brought him into bed with me - which usually helps to calm him - he stopped crying, but wouldn't stop clawing at my face. Evol! Evol HellBoi.
Anyway, I have just been to the tile shop. The nice man got a price for some other tiles that I liked. But when I got there, I compared the two. There was no comparison. So he got a better price for the "special" tiles. Guess what I'm getting for my 40th birthday? Grin

OiMissus · 15/10/2012 12:17

this is the tile, ...And this is the paper. It will be soooo gorgeous.
Whoever heard of getting a WC decorated as a 40th bd present??! He he he!!
Well, I suppose I'll get more use out of this than an outfit!

seven77 · 15/10/2012 12:40

oi your wallpaper link doesn't work from my iPhone. Dare I ask what the better price for the tiles is? I don't mean to sound harsh but I've seen similar for a fraction of the original price you mentioned, when we get the bathroom done we'll be looking to get the bath, sink and toilet for that price!

LittleMissFlustered · 15/10/2012 13:28

Purty, but I'm going with lime green emulsion instead:o

LittleMissFlustered · 15/10/2012 13:28

In other news: Octoboy is still waking every two hours. Nine months and counting:(

hawthers · 15/10/2012 14:22

lmf :( what do you think about sleep training? Can't imagine how knackered you are.

Figgygal · 15/10/2012 15:22

lmf I'm on day 2 and am in my knees HOW can you last 9 months!'

hawthers · 15/10/2012 15:32

I've just had to interview a nanny for when I go back to work. All rather off to ask random questions but she seemed really nice and DS1 was keen on her too. Only problem is that we don't need her to start until the end of November and I'm a but worried she'll find something else in the meantime. Oh well I guess there is nothing I can do about that.

NorthernChinchilla · 15/10/2012 18:14

Any news AWCH? Do hope you've retested and got another BFP.

It's my birthday today, and it's a memorable one...mainly because we're a continuing house of plague.

Let's see...last weekend, my shared birthday weekend with my Dad, I was ill with the dire-rear on the Saturday, and then on the Sunday came down with flu. All week I've been ill, and just about got better Friday, for meal out for MiL's birthday.
Then that night, DS chose the first ever time to be sick, and I mean violently, able-to-identify-dinner, requiring showering us both in the middle of the night sick. We had a nice time on Saturday, but then on Sunday Mum and I came down with D&V which we thought was food poisoning... meant we couldn't travel back. And now DS and DP have come down with it, so Bob knows what it is. So we are stuck up North.

And I've got door knobs for my birthday from DP Oi, at my request and choice, so you're not the only one Grin!

LittleMissFlustered · 15/10/2012 18:28

How do I manage? I have to!:o Coffee helps:) I'm hoping that things will calm down a bit when the rooms are shuffled. I got behind on doing stuff, but I'm slowly working my way there:o

Figgygal · 15/10/2012 18:29

Happy birthday Northern

Aethelfleda · 15/10/2012 19:03

I'm guessing norovirus, northern, aka "winter vomitig virus", onthe grounds that it's "well catching" (technical term)
Happy birthday even if with a sickbag motif..

mopsy red eyes are often viral related: if they get worse rather than better drop to your GP as they may need eye drops. If its not top bad it usually clears in a day or two.

gee woo hoo for sleepage!

LMF you get a for services to Octopi above and beyond the call of duty. Hope the sorting out is going well.

DH and I have decided we are going to have a virtual Date-night (meaning takeaway, chat and DVD rather than the pre-child-film/theatre-and-dinner) it's been a while since we've conciously done one and with all the house related hassle it's easy to forget to talk to each other. Now let me see... Indian, Chinese or Thai??.....

LittleMissFlustered · 15/10/2012 19:16

Ooh, enjoy Aethel!

I have discovered there's only enough coffee left in the jar for two more mugs

Have a nice evening, I'm away to bed to read Harry Potter under the duvet (so Octoboy stays asleep!) :)

mopsytop · 15/10/2012 19:18

Thanks aethel, she's coughing quite a lot too and nursery said her chest sounded chesty today so maybe sd get her checked over.

House offer rejected but just going to sit tight for a week
Or two and see what happens. They're holding out for a higher offer but I think it's overpriced...

Kitty5824 · 15/10/2012 19:31

Quick question.......I stupidly threw out all the bumpf, can I give calpol and cough medicine? Both boots own brand.

AWomanCalledHorse · 15/10/2012 19:45

Happy Birthday Northen, hope you're up for celebrating at the weekend?
Enjoy your knobs!

Another light positive today, so I'm going to act pregnant until my body tells me otherwise.
Typically I had some alcohol over the weekend (for the first time since June-ish)!

Aethel, we do that! We have 'no baby talk' nights, which can be hard when you're a SAHM and you've got nowt else to talk about!

Kitty, Dr.Google says yes but have no idea. Would it be worth phoning out of hours GP or NHS direct?

OiMissus · 15/10/2012 19:59

Happy Birthday northern! Congratulations on being the owner of new door knobs!
BOi has a temperature. Sad picked him up from the GPs, and he had really red cheeks. He was v lethargic too. Have him nitrogen when we got home, and 5 minutes later he vomited. Sad He's now asleep.
I'll just have to keep an eye on him and the temp.
He'll probably go to the GPS tomorrow rather than nursery.
Day 1 of decorating: no decorating done, only lots of masking tape applied. I'm painting stripes, and it has taken me almost 4 hours to mask one wall. At least the painting should be quick tomorrow.

OiMissus · 15/10/2012 20:09

Nitrogen???? No wonder he vomitted. Nurofen!! Silly spellchecker!

LittleMissFlustered · 15/10/2012 20:48

Kitty if the cough mix has no paracetamol in (and i dont know any that do!) you should be fine:)

Oi I hate decorating. I'm dragging my feet! I needing buckle down >_

Figgygal · 15/10/2012 21:06

Eek awch

Why r all the babies so bloody ill??

Just wondering who turns 1 first? Not that I like thinking about such things....we not til 22nd here

NorthernChinchilla · 15/10/2012 21:48

I'd suggested that as well aethel; there are so many things that cause D&V it's hard to know which of the viruses/bacteria/other yukkies is the culprit, but good ol' norovirus is likely.

Yay AWCH, that's good news, let's hope it continues so! You and seven can be pregnancy buddies on our thread if it all works out.

And are you trying to take LMF's crown for spellcheck doozies Oi? That's a cracker!

I'm off at a bloody conference next weekend, but the weekend after (or possibly after that) DP and I will do a delayed birthday celebration, probably along the lines of aethel's home based date night.
