Shiny new thread: we forgot to discuss the title this time!

Bloody hell seven, what are they going to do when they don't have the money?

LittleMissFlustered · 05/10/2012 21:47

Hell's bells BJR:( Do what you need to do, and feel no shame or guilt. You're doing your best, you're putting so much effort into being a good mother. Take stock and make decisions that are best for you and your boy x

mopsytop · 05/10/2012 21:48

And I second (third?!) that you so haven't let him down.

Aethelfleda · 05/10/2012 22:39

(((((BJR))))) you are so not allowed to be guilty! Sad, yes, it's always a shame when a relationship doesn't work out. Be comforted by a cuddle from your lovely DS, he is great and it's clear from your posts you love him to bits. Try and sleep tonight, and have a (calm if you can) conversation with DP tomorrow about practical steps from here. If someone leaves it should be the one who's not looking after the baby 24/7. Good luck xxx

xiao, part time nanny, huh? Well, I suppose you do work long hours and so by default, so does she...hope the arrangement can continue to work for you both.

Viewings happened today but still no info re offers. Another one tomorrow afrernoon, so need to get the DDs out somewhere, will think of possible outings and clean the loo AGAIN (sigh)....

Thanks for all the support ladies. Strangely this has come a bit out of the blue as things have been much better between us since i've gone back to work. I thought we were both happier but apparently not.

DP slept in DSS's room last night so I have no idea what's happening now. Unfortunatly I think we both said things that we can't take back. He's going to pick DSS up in a couple of hours so we won't be able to talk. I'm planning on taking DS out for the morning.

I guess we will probably just get on with things for the kids untill tomorrow and then talk. At the moment i'm feeling that if it's what he really wants, then we work out the practicalities of splitting up. Which feels very sad but I guess I just to wait and see what he says when we talk Sad

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 06/10/2012 07:39

BJR So sorry it has come to that. You do what's best for you & DS and you have nothing to feel guilty about. Ask him to make time to talk about the practicalities.

Seven That's silly of your parents. What happens in 3 weeks time when the money doesn't appear?

Well we have another full nights sleep here Smile Darcie has got swimming, singing & then going on a Brownies outing to Sealife centre this afternoon. So day of running around for me.

Figgygal · 06/10/2012 07:51

bjr hugs to you.

DS been whingeing moaning and crying since he woke up have just calpoled him and put back in his bed as he seems tired which is ridiculous as he had 11hrs sleep last night. He refuses to come back to bed these days anyway but wouldn't even play in his room this morning just wanted my book, my phone my water Anything he shouldn't have ignoring all his toys ......bloody maddening!!

OiMissus · 06/10/2012 08:00

(((Hugs))) bjr - so sorry it's come to this. Stick to your guns and do what's best for you and your LO. Good luck.
Hugs to gee too. Definitely get the cs scar checked. I have no pain or numbness anymore. It's all back to normal. Or at least it was until I did a load of sit up crunches this week! Hmm
xiao so your nanny wants to go part time? Just wait til she tells you she's pg and wants to talk maternity arrangements!! The joys of employment. (What happens then?!)Good luck!

Figgygal · 06/10/2012 13:54

Went to an utterly crap baby sale this morning had literally six stalls and nothing of interest at least DS got to the swings at the park on the Way home. Dh is due home at around six going to pick him up from the centre of Bristol so we're going to go for a shop for a few hours in the centre.

Lo actually crawled this morning for the first time been back to bum shuffling ever since but he definitely did. My pre-order of rock of ages arrived today so I'm watching that at the moment it's so cheesy love it!!

mopsytop · 06/10/2012 20:13

Looked at the house. Loved it! West-east though so back rooms and garden (v small garden) quite dark until about 3 or so. But it ticked nearly all our boxes. Separate kitchen and ideally wd like kitchen diner but just lovely in general. So going to see mortgage advisor this week and prob put in an offer. Exciting! Need to seriously get house in order to sell now!

Aethelfleda · 06/10/2012 21:48

Ooh, mopsy, bit exciting...sounds like us, the house we've seen has a 9-by-9 kitchen (as opposed to our 14-by-11 current kitchen diner). Plus we'll lose the Range Cooker for a single 4-hob jobbie. Sniff. But the rest of the house has lots of space... Are you putting in an offer before you hve a buyer then? Am torn between making an offer to truy to stale our claim, and waiting til we have a buyer before offering. Nrg.

We took the DDs to visit the new area today, they enjoyed the play park and we did a driveby of their possible new school and the house so they could see what Mummy and Daddy are harking on about. It was all quiet and pleasant and ...argh, the uncertainty's killing me!

aethel hope the viewing went well and you get an offer soon. Have you had any more luck finding anywhere yet?

BJR hope you and DP manage to talk things through calmly tomorrow, and you can make an amicable decision, whichever way it goes. Stay strong and do what you have to do for the sake of you and DS.

figgy yay to LO crawling and DH being home.

mopsy glad the house was great, good luck with the mortgage advisor.

Eva said bye bye to DS earlier! It was very cute, just as I was taking her upstairs for a nap. I have DD's cold and a cough, combined with pregnancy tiredness I'm feeling pretty pants. My parents have seen a different mortgage advisor who is prepared to give them a mortgage despite my mum being 62, and there's no obligation for her to obviously retire at 65 which is why the bank said no. Their having interest only anyway as they'll pay it off once we've completed. So things are fine again here, except the apology I would have liked for how we were spoken to on Wednesday, plus the pressure they put on us in the first place.

seven77 · 06/10/2012 21:56

aethel cancel my question!

mopsytop · 06/10/2012 22:04

Ideally wd prefer to sell first but in a position to make an offer anyway for various reasons, so we will see... I'd be more comfortable if we sold first of course but this is the only house we have seen that ticks any boxes! And is well below top budget if we include equity from current house, significantly below. So I guess it's doable. Just don't want to get in a position of fairly steep mortgage and then not able to sell current house you know? Would mean zero treats and all really stressful and I guess no leeway if husband lost job. But we do really like this house. Want to go see it on a rainy day first, mind you ...

OiMissus · 06/10/2012 22:08

Exciting times! And I don't want to put a dampener in things, but they won't take the offer very seriously until you've got a buyer.
If you need a quick sale, be prepared to drop your price! One of the best marketing tactics is to get your price in mind, Then drop it by at least 20%, and ask for "offers over..." - ideally so it features in the band lower than yours on Rightmove. This should generate lots of interest, as your house should outshine others featured in this category. The hardest part us getting people through the door. Hopefully you'll get a bidding war on your hands.
Good luck!

Figgygal · 07/10/2012 09:43

Morning report salmon does terrible things to figgyboys bottom 2 poos and 2 clothes changes by 8am .....never again the stench was unbelievable.

Also although bum shuffling is still preferred method of transportation he is crawling too though the strange is that when he's doing it he cries like he's really not enjoying it....strange child

OiMissus · 07/10/2012 12:27

No salmon here, but something is messing up BOi.
Last night, and twice last week, he's thrown up loads after his 7pm bottle. The only thing I can think of that might have caused it was perhaps having his formula after dinner. We left over an hour after dinner on each occasion. On other nights he's fallen asleep before his bottle, and so not had one at all. Sad he's not eaten anything different, and has been fine with the formula during the day. (Could it be teething-related? Number 6 erupting...)
Our rug may be ruined.

Aethelfleda · 07/10/2012 13:10

Ahhh, at last a day when there's not too much to do with too little time to do it. I have a million things I could be doing, but think I'll not be busting a gut to do any of them. And we've just had rabbit stew for lunch after we visited the local farmers' market yesterday. Yum.

LittleMissFlustered · 07/10/2012 13:24

I've just gutted my kitchen. It is the tidiest it's been in years:o

OiMissus · 07/10/2012 14:47

We've been out for a 2hr walk in this glorious sunshine. Did the same yesterday to. Grin
Gotta lose this wobbly belly and Harris!
DH is DIY-ing.

OiMissus · 07/10/2012 15:42

Too. Blush

Aethelfleda · 07/10/2012 15:53

DDs have just scared themselves silly attempting to watch "Coraline" (a DVD present for DD1s birthday that I was rather Hmm about. We gave it a try in full daylight and they were o-k-a-y until the bit when the scary mother went cross and skeletal, then we stopped it pdq. Think it's getting relegated to the watch-in-3-years pile. Oh well.
