Sorry guys - posted the 1000th message without realising Blush, so hopefully you can all find this thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Scheherezade · 31/05/2012 11:14

fuzzy I always double, triple or quadruple AK recipes, the amount of ingredients is tiny (e.g. one salmon fillet - when you buy them in packs of 2+!) and then freeze the leftovers. I'm also a terrible slatternly mother who feeds my child leftovers Blush . We had a roast on Sunday, so C has had the leftover cauliflower cheese for dinner twice - and I'm using the leftover pork roast now! This is obviously why people have children Grin . (He gets fed ridiculously well the rest of the time though).

I'm just not really sure how much of everything to use. I'll just try experimenting. It says 8-10 hours, but I'll stick the slow cooker on high which should get it done in 6.

Wish me luck!

  • also, those of you on bottles, did you gradually reduce OZs in bottles, or stop altogether? Have reduced C's 2 daytime bottles from 6 to 4oz. However he's currently sleeping a long time, past his 11am bottle o'clock. Any later and it'll be too close to lunch, could I just, not give him his bottle, and give him a snack when he wakes up? Or is that a bit sudden?
Scheherezade · 31/05/2012 11:31

No morning bottle for C I think - going to check with HV.

He's growing up isn't he

My brain will now FREAK OUT that he's not going to get enough milk. But 6oz morning, 4oz afternoon and 6oz evening of formula, plus roughly 5oz full fat cows milk in his cereal is enough, yes?! But what if I give him eggy bread (or similar for breakfast) - where does the milk come from then?!

At least I can laugh at my neurotic-ness Grin

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 31/05/2012 12:07

I do 7oz at wake up, 3ish and then bed. She hasn't had morning now for a few weeks. Has about 2oz cows milk in cereal so I think she is having enough. Remember cheese, yogurt etc all count towards milk intake Smile

MamaMaiasaura · 31/05/2012 13:42

6//7am. bfeed
7/8am breakfast
9/10am bfeed and nap
12noon lunch (sometimes bfeed too)
1/2pm. Bfeed and nap
4pm. Quick bfeed
5pm. Dinner
7pm bfeed and bed
11pm dream bfeed
3/4am often wakes for bfeed then sleeps

That's alot Blush

MamaMaiasaura · 31/05/2012 13:44

Tho somedays she will miss post lunch bfeed

strawberrypenguin · 31/05/2012 14:17

scheh nope not me, my curry comes out of a jar! Smile
Yay do C learning to be put down Grin

I haven't started reducing W's milk myself I'm letting him dictate he chose to drop to his current amount when we started on food so I figure that's what he needs for now and he'll reduce it himself as he eats more. Plus he doesn't really like water so the milk is good to keep his fluid up.

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 31/05/2012 14:34

mama how do you get anything done with all that feeding?! Grin

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 31/05/2012 14:39

Everything from the unit that the tv sits on is slowly disappearing!! S now thinks its great fun to go over and pull everything off it. Just put away the wii as she was enjoying putting it out to chew the wires! Honestly, she is worse than the cats!!! HmmConfused

MamaMaiasaura · 31/05/2012 15:21

I don't fuzzy Grin

lookout · 31/05/2012 15:56

Sorry have not kept up at all last couple of days. Bad time of year for us and I always zone out of real life. Sorry if I don't catch up properly!

E had a fab night: down at 8, woke at 11.30 when dh calmed him, then slept til 5am!! I fed him, popped him down and then woke him at 7! I am stunned Grin

We now have 2 teeth! But still not really eating. Ate at pub last night, and picnic at ds1 school today but still not really interested Sad. Have made chicken goujons for his tea this evening, with baby corn and pasta and we'll see how he gets on. he does still pick it all up but doesn't really eat anything.

We also had a choking incident a few days ago which put the fear of god into me.

sche glad to hear about the progress with putting C down, must be a relief.
engels you are grim. That is all.
PA no crawling or even sitting properly here either! He rolls a lot though and seems to be content enough with that. I'm not overly keen on him moving more tbh cos it gets harder then! And re: the eczema, we put plenty of cream even on the parts that aren't dry cos otherwise they get dry and by then it's too alte and you have to attack with the steroid! His legs are the worst at the moment, loads of lumps and bumps and scratches cos I find it sp hard to keep his nails short enough! Thanks good ness for the scratch sleeves otherwise his sleep would be dreadul I'm sure.
Cheshire your made me lol with dd talking to the drawer knobs. Of course, who wouldn't?

Scheherezade · 31/05/2012 16:06

hmm... the curry is smelling a bit oniony.... I used 1 squash, 1 onion, 3 cloves garlic, 3 small potatoes, 2 cups lentils, 400g(ish) cherry tomatoes, 3 cups water. tsp chilli and ginger. Stuck it on high in slow cooker. I've not added the pork yet as its already cooked - was going to put it in now but he's fallen asleep on me!

Scheherezade · 31/05/2012 16:07

sorry x posts lookout - great news re sleeping - here's to another good night! And if not - well its the weekend Grin

MrsHende · 31/05/2012 16:41

My girl just drank formula from a cup! Woo hoo!

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 31/05/2012 16:50

Well done little L Grin

Great about the sleeping lookout. Long may it continue!!

Bubalie · 31/05/2012 16:58

Hello everyone, I hope you and babies are well. I haven't posted in ages and will attempt to catch up with the thread tonight if I can.. Just wanted to say a quick hello, we're not having a great time at the moment, trying to settle L in nursery, just not working :(!

PenguinArmy · 31/05/2012 17:52

did you pre-fry the onions first?

strawberrypenguin · 31/05/2012 17:54

lookout yay for sleep!

mrsH Grin

Hi Bub

strawberrypenguin · 31/05/2012 17:55

Oops meant to say sorry nursery move isn't going well bub anything we can help with?

Engelsmeisje · 31/05/2012 19:21

Can I just point out that I didn't actually ingest poo on purpose ! (now can someone else please do something stupid?) Grin

Am really annoyed at DH. On days that I'm home I do the washing-up afetr brekkie and dinner, do a load of washing, cook dinner (unless he wants to) and feed/change/put DS to bed, plus any other errands/shopping that needs doing. So I come home this evening and he's done nothing. the kitchen's a mess, I end up doing dinner, feeding and putting DS to bed. He doesn't even have the excuse that DS was having a difficult day - he told me he'd napped for an hour and a half this morning and 2 hours this afternoon. Honestly I could just beat that man round the head sometimes but I wouldn't because my aggression is more of the passive nature

Grrrr...rant over.

Raining cats and dogs here. I'm glad the weather has broken (it's better for my garden). Right, now I'm going to have a beer and sit on my laptop for the rest of the evening (and I don't care how much DH glares at me and tells me I'm being anti-social...sorry, thought my rant was over Grin )

LittlePebble · 31/05/2012 19:39

Engels I would be fuming too.

If it helps he's not the only one being rubbish, last night I couldn't get E down until 9.45 pm and I came down to find DP had done nothing, no bottle prep, hadn't cleared dinner etc. Why you may ask? Was he busy? .....no..... He was looking up motivational quotes on his bloody iPhone FOR 2.5HRS!!!!!
Motivational Quotes! I will not repeat what I said GrinGrinGrin

FuzzzyDuckosaurus · 31/05/2012 19:53

I'm getting a good laughing at your dp/dh engel and lp Grin

CheshireDing · 31/05/2012 19:53

Engels I can't think of anything stupid I have done recently but give me time (there are lots of stupid things I have done/said previously) Grin DH always says to me that if he was at home with P there would be half drunk cups of tea everywhere, the dog would need a wee, the cat would be starved, P and DH would not be dressed, and when she is a toddler I expect to come home and find him asleep on the settee through exhaustion and covered in glitter/playdoh! Enjoy your beer.

Scheh P pretty much still has the same amount of feeds as Mama said but minus lunchtime/afternoon usually. I don't offer unless she asks, I presume it's the same for ff in that it's demand led?

MrsH clever L Smile

Wondered where you had gone Bub, sorry it's not going too well.

Concluded today what DH has always accused me of - I am a hippy! (although prefer the word "alternative"). I had been reading my AP book whilst a nappy free P played as I decided to try and hardcore EC today, it failed because she weed on the babygym. DH has two weeks off now so God knows what he will think Grin.

arrgg she is wide awake talking to the drawer knobs again!

Engelsmeisje · 31/05/2012 19:54

Grin pebble

MrsHende · 31/05/2012 20:27

Engels and Pebble, I really, really feel your pain. Really. Not going to start a rant for fear I may not be able to stop, ever...

Bub, so sorry that life is tough - come and moan here anytime, don't feel like you have to keep up and read all our chat if you just need to vent.

Any sign of sassy? if you're ready, I hope everything's ok.

Engelsmeisje · 31/05/2012 20:44

DH isn't always such a plonker, honestly. But the last year or so with depression, I just keep waiting for the old DH to come back, for him to look after me for a while

Give him his due, he did fix the blind in M's room on Tuesday afternoon (which I broke in March), order a new tap for the kitchen, buy 2 nice old benches for the garden, which he collected yesterday and today. All things he's been talking about doing for MONTHS. He just needs to give himself a kick up the arse because if anyone else tries then he bites my their head off. Things ARE getting better, but it's just so up and down. Feels like on steo forward and 2 steps back,a dn until then I guess I'll be doing the washing-up

scheh M is on

8 .00 200ml/6oz as porridge
10.30/11 fruit/yohurt
12.30 bread with some kind of spread of cheese
15.00 200ml bottle
17.30 dinner (veg/meat etc mush)
19.00 200ml bottle

we offer him water or tea with breakfast/fruit/lunch and dinner. he usually drinks about 250ml during the day.

Am thinking about signing up for 15k race in November. I think this may be a bit stupid...it's really hilly and the cut off time is 1hr48...worried I won't make it. It's billed as the fastest 15k race in the world...lots of top runners come from all over the world to try and break the world record currently at 41 minutes...something to aim for?! would be really embarrassing not to finishHmm
