Thor is a good film. Very, um, aesthetically pleasing Grin

ILike - I feel your pain. I spend half my day keeping T out of places he shouldn't be!

GlaikitFizzog · 09/05/2012 19:38

I can totally sympathise ILike. B doesn't "play" with toys, he throws them, bashes them, I've enven found a mega block down the loo. That went in the bin. He favourite thing, after boinging the springy door stop is slamming the cupboard doors, which is great. By the way have you seen this thread?

I have an unexpected day off tomorrow! DH has to go into work because everyone else is striking. I expect I'll spend most of the day rescuing B for life endangering situations and trying to tidy the toys away.

Thor grab my interest when DH was watching it I'll admit! Not my thing really but I can appreciate a well crafted torso film!

Sounds like a lovely thread fizz Confused (not read all of it - I might be sick).
We have toys all over too and I'm just waiting for the first toy in the toilet. My money is on Mr Crocodile, one of the bath toys. M loves watching the toilet flush. On the subject of toys - the laptop saga from last week... the no.3 symbol on the screen has stopped working on the replacement :( though the rest of it works still - the first one gave up completely and made a clicking noise. I can't be bothered taking it back again but if M never learns '3' 'c' 'blue' or 'triangle' I'm completely blaming Tesco :o

I Like we put the bib on at mealtimes but if it lasts half way through I'm surprised. She can now get the overhead bibs off too.

I'm also forever removing her from the kitchen cupboards. For some reason she's obsessed with getting a tub of glace cherries out.

Right, must crack on with ironing... or deciding whether to purchase top from Joe Browns...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/05/2012 20:54

Evening :)

I have had the day from hell trying to sort T's passport form out. No less than 3 trips back and forth to the Post Office in town (several miles each way, new parking ticket required each time!) with various photos, thank God my lovely friend was counter signatory and very willing to keep signing until we got one they would accept!!

Just how the fucking fuck are you supposed to lift a 28lb baby high enough in a photo booth without getting your own thumb and fingers in the picture???

We eventually got home at 5pm, having been to MacDonalds to pick up Happy Meals on the way home. I am shattered.

GlaikitFizzog · 09/05/2012 21:13

Sorry that link should come with a warning. If you know what the klaxon is :o

Kittycatcat · 09/05/2012 21:14

S put my sock down the toilet last week! Little monkey!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 09/05/2012 21:17

Fizz I am a lurker on the threads. Wink

Kittycatcat · 09/05/2012 21:21

Lovely top chilli

chillikat · 09/05/2012 22:13

And purchased :) Hopefully it'll be one item of clothing M doesn't run round the house with - another fun game of hers at the moment.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/05/2012 08:12

Thanks for the link Fizz, I heard the klaxon loud and clear

I hate to tell you this Ali,but you can passport photo's at home. Lay your baby on a White sheet, take the head shot then download the photo to get passport photo size prints sent to your home.

I have thought twice about posting that after your day from hell, but posted it just incase it helped someone else out.

We will be attempting to put baby I's footprints on some ceramic 'stuff' today, wish me luck! I'm not sure his bloody great plates of meat will fit on a Bridgewater style mug, it may have to be a latte style one Grin

I watched the Homeland finale. What a bloody let down, it's going to be Lost all over again isn't it? Hmm

Oh, and did I tell you that I ran 3k non stop? I am aware that that is a paltry amount really, but for someone who couldnt run for a bus a few weeks ago, I feel it is quite an achievement.

Kittycatcat · 10/05/2012 10:13

Good luck ilike. I took s to snappy snaps for his pic.

I was on my way to hosp this time last year Grin

Kittycatcat · 10/05/2012 16:54

Argh why is a waking from his pm naps crying non stop for half an hour. Nothing helps. It's only when he's at home with me. Doesn't do it at the grandparents but I think they take him out in a buggy for one of his naps. Stopped his afternoon bottle about three weeks ago and this is the 2nd week he's done it to me. I can't cope with it. Tried to soothe him but I've had to put him back in his cot. He was crying but just schnuffling now. He's still got a bit of cold too but it's the fact that it's only when he's with me.

chillikat · 10/05/2012 17:19

I think they do these things just to annoy and puzzle us kitty. I think M has a monitor in our room so she knows to cry just when we're dropping off to sleep.

I'm so tired this afternoon. It's been an awful week for sleep but last night was worst - she didn't sleep for 2 hours at a stretch until we gave calpol at 2.30, then slept 3-6.30 :( only had an hours nap this afternoon - please let her sleep tonight - I've been in such a bad mood with her this afternoon - shouting at her for opening drawers and cupboards, snatching whatever she's got off her and too tired to play. I feel horrible.

Kittycatcat · 10/05/2012 17:35

He's still in his cot sleeping so I'm guessing he woke to soon. Hope you're ok.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/05/2012 18:17

ILike - we did that, but our printer broke, and the two places I took the card to print the photos their machines were broken...
So I did photos of him in a booth which were rejected, then I had ones done in Jessops which were fine. Except that when I took it all into the Post Office one of the photos (fortunately not the countersigned one!) had got some ink on it, so I had to go home again to get a spare and then back into town to the Post Office.

Grin

How has your ceramic attempt gone?

We have had all the info through from DS1's school today about him starting in September. Feels very strange!!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 10/05/2012 18:24

kitty - DS1 used to do that, it took him about half an hour to really wake up. I used to give him a beaker of warm milk and a cuddle and that helped, and he was like it right up until he dropped his nap when he was 2 years 4 months.
I think it is to do with low blood sugar after a sleep, so the milk sorts that out.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/05/2012 18:34

As soon as I saw Ali mention a beaker of milk I thought 'low blood sugar', but she beat me too it. I believe it's quite common after a nap.

I bet the whole school thing is strange. I am worrying about it and M doesn't go to school until next year Hmm

The photo palaver sounds awful Ali. I would have given up, wept and shouted. In no particular order!

The ceramic painting was fine. His foot and hand print just about fitted on the tile. I also got his prints on a piggy bank - his first one!

Kittycatcat · 10/05/2012 18:51

He went back to sleep for an hour and a half. May try the warm milk in a cup next time tho. Thx

GlaikitFizzog · 12/05/2012 14:48

Kittycatcat · 12/05/2012 16:01

Tomorrow we are having a big party Smile

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/05/2012 16:12

What a busy weekend kitty, and happy belated birthday S!

Half way already, blimey. I reckon a girl.

It's sunny here too. This morning I was sorting through accumulated crap in a storage container (the NCT, not mine), then dropped M off at a birthday party, back home for lunch, picked M up from the party (he had a fab time), then I have just been for a run. Now Dh is taking the boys to the supermarket while I shower. A busy day, but a bit dull! Dull can be good though sometimes Grin

AussieMum2Be · 12/05/2012 18:24

Hi All,

Well we have been back in London for almost a month already, Sydney seems like a distant memory :-( I can highly recommend NEVER traveling with an active almost 1 year old on your own !! She didnt sleep the whole flight bar about 3hours and wouldnt sit still. I didnt get to eat or sleep so was completly shattered by time we got back, and the customs guy who decided to interrogate me about child trafficking, asking if i have proof of DI being mine didnt not put me into a happy frame of mind after my flight ! Yes, i know she has blond hair & blue eyes & im oriental but she really is mine !! I swear she didnt leave my sight from the time she was born !!

But it was nice to get home to my comfy bed, freedom of my own home, back with DP & no mum around !! he he

We had a great 1st pre-bday for DI in Oz, which was sooo nice & then a 1st bday party here with just DP family where she was spoilt crazy & took her 1st 5 proper steps. Since then she decided walking is her new favourite sport & is zooming round the place like a pro, lots of bottom falls but she just climbs back up anything around & is on her way ! She kinda looks like ET when she walks, super funny !

Im back to work on Tuesday after an amazing 13months off, so been super lucky but i really dont want to go back, my original offixe closed down & im going to one, where i cant stand the boss, but its only 3 days a week so cant complain, wish we could afford for me to be a SAHM, never thought id want to, but i do ! Cmon Lottery !!

Will hopefully not be back working for to long ! We are activel trying for no2, & was at it like rabbits this month (Sorry TMI), so waiting till next Sunday to buy a clearblue if AF doesnt turn up !! Fingers crossed.

Hope everyone is well, I cant believe our babies are basically toddlers & we have all been chatting for almost 2 years through pregnancy & our Babies 1st years, its amazing isnt it !! How fast has the time gone !

AussieMum2Be · 12/05/2012 18:25

Kitty, Im also placing bets on a girl !!

Kittycatcat · 12/05/2012 19:45

Good to have you back aussie. What a nightmare flight. Fingers crossed for Sunday!

Starshaped · 13/05/2012 05:44

Hi all - and welcome back Aussie!

I've not posted for a week or so. Are all the mini Aprilites one now? We've had DD's birthday and I still can't believe it's a year since she was born!

I'm have the night from hell - hence the early posting time. I'm away for the weekend (first night away from DD since she was born) and literally haven't slept a wink. Last night was bad but this or has been horrific. I've been hit by raging insomnia and my boobs feel like they're going to explode, despite my best attempts with the pump. I've finally given in and got up but can't find the teabags anywhere in the bliming kitchen to make a cuppa. Grrrh. There's lots of other mums here, so am hoping there'll be a fellow early bird to keep me company soon. Just want to get home, see DD and DH, give DD a big feed and go to bed though Sad

Looking on the brightside, DH has settled DD to bed two nights on the run without a feed and without tears (allegedly). Obviously she saves her best behaviour for daddy!
