Star that's awful - the first guaranteed uninterrupted night for a year and you can't sleep? My heart goes out to you :o.

We're going to a 'no kids' wedding next weekend (grrr) so leaving J with my Dad & stepmum overnight. Will be my first ever night away from her. I am getting SO EXCITED about a guaranteed night's sleep in a nice hotel bed (and maybe even a shag :o) will have to fight the temptation to leave the wedding at 8pm.

J has been a little bugger for sleep these last few days. 4 nights last week she woke up at 2/3ish and was WIDE AWAKE till about 5am. It kills me when I have to get up at 6.30 for work. She doesn't seem unhappy so I don't think it's teeth. Just wide awake and ready to play. She's been ok last two nights though so fingers crossed it was just one of those things.

kitty - half way already? How did that happen?! Exciting!

GlaikitFizzog · 13/05/2012 20:09

I'm going for knickers Kitty :o exciting!!

We have a wedding next weekend too ecuse, my Dbro is best man (when did he get old enough to be a best man????) It's in a ruin on an island in the Firth of Forth, there is no shelter and a 45 minute boat trip to get there! Tyhanksully we are only going at night as we couldn't leave B all day because everyone we trust to do that is at the wedding or on holiday!! I'm getting my hair done in the morning then we are meeting the boat back from the island so B can give the bride a horseshoe. I'm still swithering whether to drink or not as I've been avoiding alcohol since starting my ADs, I've had the odd glass of wine, but nor a proper night out. I'll see how I feel.

We went swimming yesterday morning, me Dmum and B. It was so much fun. He is defo a water baby! then we planted up the garden just before the heavens opened. Today, my thighs and gluts are killing me!! But I'm glad we got it done because we have a hurrricane today! DH had to chase the patio umbrella down the gardens earlier!

Kittycatcat · 14/05/2012 12:43

Pascale with an e is a girl's name Wink but I like Pascal (said exactly the same way).

Love Aiden though. Go with Aiden!

OP posts:
JKSLtd · 14/05/2012 20:11

All of my boys names have been mentioned already, like Aiden too.
Or:
Patrick
Billy
Sidney (coming back in)
Stanley (ditto)

DD took 8 steps on her own today :)
Then thought about what she was doing and stopped & wobbled then wouldn't do it again.

Then headbutted DS1's wooden castle just before bed, oops. She's not very hardy, think the boys bounced back a bit quicker drama queen :)

Got loads I should be doing, have DS1's pirate party here on Wed eve and not ready at all yet. Have made the ship cake (thanks Lakeland) but it has 'sunk' a bit in the middle - may end up a shipwreck scene at this rate, lol Grin

MrsWajs · 14/05/2012 22:04

Congrats kitty I was going to guess boy but was a bit late to post!

Fizz Do you mind if I asked which ADs you're on? I finally took myself to the docs 3 weeks ago and was diagnosed with PND and anxiety so they started me on 5mgs of escitalopram, which I know is predominantly for the anxiety aspect of things. Can't say I've noticed much difference as yet but it's only been 3 weeks.

Kittycatcat · 14/05/2012 22:06

Thanks. Hope u feel a difference soon mrsw, tho I thought they should be working by now.

GlaikitFizzog · 14/05/2012 22:25

20mg of fluoxetine (I've just googled to get the right spelling and found out that it is actually prozac Shock). It's been 2 1/2 months since I started and although I don't think I'm any different DH says he can see a difference. I'm not flying off the handle as much over silly things, like burning hte toast or something equally as trivial. I still get downers when I just want to hole up in a cave and ignore the world, just not as often. I would say it was a good month before I noticed much change really.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 16/05/2012 16:45

Hello!

I've just got back from my smear test. Fortunately, it's only been 2 years since I had one. But that means they're unlikely to process the test I had today unless there are significant implications. Which the nurse thinks there aren't.

She reckons it's most likely the coil, although she did a chlamydia swab too. I'm still scared it's something nasty though. Hmm

She also said she thinks I'm exhausted, and although she shouldn't tell me to stop BFing F, she thinks he can cope without it now!

She may have a point about the exhaustion, although day to day I'm fine, I am doing a lot of work on very little sleep. But I don't want to stop BFing yet (and neither does F, from all the top-flapping he does!). He's only feeding morning & night.

So, I should find out results of both in a couple of weeks.

GlaikitFizzog · 16/05/2012 18:56

Oh thats good you've got it done. Not so good advice on the BFing. He probably could cope without it, but as long as you and he want to carry on then she should keep her skicky beak out!

I got tested for all the usual STIs when I went to the MW the first time. Would you have had the same tests? Are they standard I mean? I hope they are. Either that our she though I looked disease ridden!

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 16/05/2012 19:13

No, the mw didn't test me. No-one went near that area till I was in labour!

The nurse today did say they should have tested for everything when they put the coil in, but I'm very sure they didn't.

How long do babies/toddlers need milk for? I know we could give him cows milk now, but BM is free!

ecuse · 16/05/2012 20:30

I had STI tests at booking in, Fizz.

J has been a right royal pain in the arse today. My fault for taking her to hang out with my three best girl friends today (hooray for Wednesdays off work!). She loved the attention and cuddles at first but after a couple of hours was thoroughly frustrated with me constantly pulling her back from all the fascinating and completely non baby friendly stuff at my friend's house. Freestanding wine rack full of expensive champagne on the kitchen floor, anyone? Glass coffee table? I am knackered from wrangling her all day. Drove home too late as was so lovely to see them so she slept in the car and am now struggling to get her to bed. Quite odd but lovely for us all to get together on a Weds as we've always been working. But one of us is just starting mat leave, due in a week, one of us has recently quit her desk job to set up a magazine and write a book so she works ALL THE TIME but can take any day off she chooses and the third had a nervous breakdown so has been signed off sick for 6 months. With a baby on the way, a breakdown and the writer's husband having just had sex either a hooker on a stag night (poor poor her, they are six months married and were trying for a baby Sad) we had plenty to catch up on... Confused. Really good to get together though, one of those times we just really needed to be the four of us catching up without our menfolk around.

ecuse · 16/05/2012 20:31

Erm. That paragraph was about a mile too long and completely incomprehensible, sorry. Ignore!

chillikat · 16/05/2012 21:01

I had the STI tests at booking in too - was that part of the blood tests? I'd never had blood taken before then!

UBW the World Health Org recommend breastfeeding til the age of 2, but I think by this point it's up to us. I'm thinking 6 months at a time - currently planning to feed til 18 months, then as that gets closer it'll move to 2 years, etc! M doesn't seem to like cows milk as a drink so as long as she wants it and isn't chomping on me I'm happy to continue, though my MIL commented to DH the other day that she thinks M doesn't eat well because I'm breastfeeding her too much. In actual fact I'm feeding her more when she's not eating well as I worry she's hungry. I'm a bit pissed off with her negative comments about my breastfeeding it's kind of making me more determined to continue Is there anything contributing to your exhaustion? Poor sleep? (I know this one well) Lack of vitamins? Need more Wine or cake?

ecuse that's awful for your friend :(

GlaikitFizzog · 16/05/2012 21:43

Phew, so I didn't just look diseased! All was clear anyway!

ecuse I was about to say yay for you all meeting up, but your poo friends. :(

chilli what can I say MILs
