I was violently sick at 1and have barely left the toilet this morning Sad

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/06/2012 09:29

Yikes Kitty, nasty. You and the baby will be fine, but it really is horrible having a stomach bug when pg. Don't worry about food so much, but do make sure you keep your fluids up and rest.

Today is a day of packing and last minute stuff before we leave tomorrow. Dh and I can't wait to spend a whole week together with the boys and with no schedule Smile

Kittycatcat · 16/06/2012 09:33

Have a lovely week.

Yeah can't do food. Just sticks in my mouth x

Glaikit · 16/06/2012 12:06

Oh kitty that sucks. Do keep your fluids up. I don't know what he science is behind this, but my gran used to give me warm lemonade when I had a tummy bug. Maybe it's the sugar? It would perk me up.

Miserable day here again, so much for my idea of a fathers day picnic tomorrow!

Enjoy you holibobs iLike!

ecuse · 16/06/2012 20:11

Phew Fizz that must be a relief for you! Kitty it sucks beong poorly, you have my sympathy! Saw the pics of you all glammed up for tge polo on FB. If it makes you feel any better you looked lovely and not at all like you were just about to run to the loo and throw up!!

ILTMIMI enjoy your hols (jealous!)

anything to report, Frak? And is Arch still about? Anything to report there?

Kittycatcat · 16/06/2012 20:29

Thanks ecuse Grin

Frakiosaurus · 17/06/2012 07:10

Nope, big fat nothing to report and there won't be now til the end of August if that's what you were hinting at!

kitty hope you're feeling a bit better now. Stomach bugs are bike, vile things. Rest up and drink lots - we used to be given coke off a metal spoon. I have no idea whether it was the placebo effect but it worked!

iltmi enjoy your holiday!

ali it sounds like T would really thrive on some kind of dedicated childcare to wear him out and DS1 would probably love it too, not to mention the fact that you need a break! Ask around whether any local CMs have time they can't fill or maybe local nannies looking for an extra day. Probably cheaper for a few hours than full sessions in nursery and less like outsourcing him, more like bringing in reinforcements.

chillikat · 17/06/2012 20:45

Poor M isn't well - she's been drooling majorly all weekend and crying lots. I thought it was more teething, maybe a molar but this morning I noticed what look like blisters on the tip of her tongue - hand foot and mouth maybe? Poor girl isn't eating much and can't feed from me either - she goes to latch on but pulls away and cries in pain :( I'm phoning the docs first thing and she's asleep now but anyone have any ideas?

Kittycatcat · 17/06/2012 21:13

No suggestions I'm afraid but hugs.

Kittycatcat · 17/06/2012 21:28

They said I got terrible mouth ulcers when my wisdom teeth came thru. Had to take anti b's.

Glaikit · 17/06/2012 21:32

Poor m. Hf&m are little blisters, b didn't have many in his mouth, but he had loads on his hands and feet. They look exactly like little blisters, red ont he outside and a white bump. It also effects their bums with little blisters too.

Calpol was all the doc advised us to use if he was miserable, but he actually just sleeps lots when he is ill.

chillikat · 17/06/2012 21:37

There's nothing other than in her mouth that I can see. Poor thing has mainly been eating yoghurt for the last couple of days and even that doesn't seem to be pain free.

Kittycatcat · 18/06/2012 07:56

Eugh. Haven't gone to work. Upset tum after dinner and my stomach growled all night.... As did s. I think teething may have joined the party Sad. Tired. Grumpy. Ill.

Hope u get an appt ASAP chilli

chillikat · 18/06/2012 09:47

Got an appointment at 10.40, though M seems fine this morning and had a BF as normal(ish) but I'm not sure if that was just because she was so hungry. Her tongue also looks fine this morning (typical). Though we spent part of the night listening to her crying and then phoning NHS direct who suggested calpol on her tongue.

Anyway, so she went off to nursery as she seems fine; I went to work, though was going to be 10 minutes late and would have to leave early for appointment but thought it better to go in and show willing. Got told I'd have to make the time up or take it as leave as it the appointment wasn't for me. Filled in leave sheet, turned round and came home Angry (thankfully only a 10 minute bike ride) I realise that's the policy but I feel I'm being punished for not taking the piss - I'm not one to have lots of time off or be ill lots, some flexibility might be nice.

Anyway, I've now got time to tidy up a bit and have a Brew

chillikat · 18/06/2012 09:47

Hope you're feeling better soon Kitty

Glaikit · 18/06/2012 16:27

What did the doc say chilli?

chillikat · 18/06/2012 19:49

Doctor didn't know what caused it or really what it was, possibly thrush, though I'm clear and she hasn't got a white coating on her tongue Hmm possibly she's bitten her tongue or maybe licked something she shouldn't. He gave her nystatin in case it was thrush and said it should sooth anyway. It'll just take time to heal. He also wondered how I continued to breastfeed when she has so many teeth (nearly 8) Confused
She's still not feeding tonight, though her tongue looks a bit better - I'm really sad and hoping it's not the end. I've ended up hand expressing today - got about 50ml [strangely proud] but she won't drink that either and prefers water Confused maybe I'll water it down.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 19/06/2012 20:50

Aargh, F is not sleeping tonight.

Constant whinging/whining/whimpering coming from upstairs. I've already spent the best part of an hour up there with him - thought he was going to drop off, but no.

Cough/cold/teething combo. I think it's time to bust out the bonjela.

(still got a couple of thousand exam questions to mark tonight too, grrr....)

Kittycatcat · 19/06/2012 20:51

Not good ubw.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 19/06/2012 20:58

it was calgel lidocaine, either way and we finally have some radio silence.

How are you today Kitty?

Kittycatcat · 19/06/2012 21:07

Stronger but still got an upset tum. Fed up.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 19/06/2012 21:34

Rubbish, hope you feel better soon. x

Kittycatcat · 19/06/2012 22:06

Thanks. Hope F sleeps thru for you. Took S an hour cos he napped well today, but fortunately I didn't have to go into him despite a bit of a grumble.

ecuse · 19/06/2012 22:10

I feel your pain, UBW. First big client deadline since I returned to work. Was in till midnight last week, working at home now. Roll on Friday...

Hope this means you're on the mend, Kitty. How long have you got left now? You must be coming up for third trimester soon?

Kittycatcat · 19/06/2012 22:26

Eugh to long hours.

I'm 26 weeks now Smile
