Last night wasn't as bad as I feared. A number of wake ups before we went to bed (also refusal of calpol and ibuprofen) but then slept til 2.30 brought her to our bed for a hug - which lasted for an hour until I woke up again and got DH to take her back to her room and up for the day about 6.30. Napping in the pram now.

BTW, happy birthday for yesterday Frak

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 13/06/2012 13:55

Hello! Sorry I didn't post again last night. I did the other test this morning and it was negative, so I actually don't know if I am pregnant or not. I have purchased 4 more and will do them all over the next few days. Thank you for all your support though. I really do love you all :)

chillikat · 13/06/2012 14:02

That's a bit Confused Fizz - stupid tests. Don't try pee-ing on the computer though - probably wouldn't be good for it ;). Have a Brew

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 13/06/2012 14:06

I have an iPad now. They are splash proof, aren't they!

Starshaped · 13/06/2012 15:50

How bizarre FIzz Confused Confused Hopefully things will become a little bit clearer over the next few days Smile

I'm on my phone so can't scroll back through messages but what was the verdict on the debate about cows milk? We have just stopped BF and have replaced the bedtime feed with a cup of milk. DD also has one in the morning and gulps them both down. Should i be cutting back the amount of she drinks (currently about 250mls a day)? Help!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/06/2012 16:57

Star - IMO (which is not medical or scientific), if dd is happy with cows milk and it's not to the detriment of her appetite, then it's fine. But alternatively,if you don't want to replace bm with cows milk, then that's ok too.

Weird result Fizz Confused

JKSLtd · 13/06/2012 18:06

Confusing Fizz, hope a result becomes clear asap.

Well DD is currently knocking back a cup of milk so I'll try to remember to offer it to her every day and see how we go.
I think if they are happy to drink it - and as ILike says, it doesn't interfere with eating - then yes they should have it. It's pretty much 100% goodness and their bones do need lots of calcium.

Glad she doesn't mind it cold straight from the fridge though :)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/06/2012 18:46

Fizz what a PITA. I'd be inclined to go with what your body is telling you - i.e. the tiredness and the puking. I hope you know one way or the other in a few days.

Star - we've always given DS1 a drink of cows milk before bed, and actually for a long while he had one in the morning too but we phased that out as he stopped asking for it.
Last week while we were away T was having some cows milk before bed alongside BM because it was very warm and he was thirsty and my letdown was impaired by alcohol. He is showing no sign of giving up the boob though. He has a big feed before bed and another in the morning - sometimes a bit in the night as well. He rarely asks during the day any longer.

JKS - T has it straight from the fridge as well Grin

ILike - France was fab thanks. We had some really hot weather - paddling pool out and barbecues on the terrace, and then some days of torrential rain! The boys loved having DH around so much though, and grandma and grandpa :)

Starshaped · 13/06/2012 19:02

Sounds like a lovely holiday Ali. We're not going away until September and I'm already on countdown!

Thanks for the milk feedback too. I'll carry on with it then as it definitely isn't impairing her appetite. She's a gannet - I have no idea where she puts it all!! P won't drink her milk warm either. It's straight from the fridge or nothing. Strange child ConfusedGrin

Re BF, I think P would have carried on but I just felt ready to stop. I felt surprisingly sad but also pleased that I made it to 13m. I must admit that it has made bedtime a more tiresome process though. I miss the magical sleep inducing properties of the boob!

Kittycatcat · 14/06/2012 09:34

How are you today fizz

Better night teethers?

S hasn't been suck since he bought his beans up yest lunch but I'm only giving him liquid, toast and yogs. Now he has runny smelly yellow poo. 3 nappies since half 7. Booked docs for 1150.

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 14/06/2012 13:11

Another negative test today but still no sign of af. So until it shows up I'm in limbo.

B is teething again but isn't too bad, it his bum that a bearing the brunt of it. Poor thing. Lots of nappy free time and he's sleeping more so if that's what makes him better he can fire on.

Kittycatcat · 14/06/2012 13:52

Eugh hate limbo

Doc says s has a tummy bug

Kittycatcat · 14/06/2012 16:46

Argh I've just been sick. Must have s' bug

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 14/06/2012 19:48

oh no Kitty, hope you & S get over it quickly. There's nothing worse than sick bugs, in my book.

Fizz, bugger about the limbo. Would a GP be able to do anything helpful?

We've got massive teething going on here. Both upper and lower premolars. They've been coming for ages, but they seem to be bothering him more now. Sore bum, and wanting to constantly munch biscuits (shouldn't have taught him that sign!).

And he started to get really angry this evening - throwing stuff around, etc. Although I think that's more tiredness (and now he's refusing to sleep Hmm).

Glaikit · 14/06/2012 20:44

I'll give it til next week, if still no af or a +ve test I'll go to the docs. But I don't feel premenstrual, so who knows if that's even on the way.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/06/2012 14:28

Oh Fizz you poor thing :(

kitty hope you are feeling ok this morning.

UBW - T is a stroppy so and so at times. He does this hilarious thing when he doesn't get his own way, of casting himself on the floor and wailing - but he looks up now and again to see if anyone is noticing. I have to go and hide and laugh Grin

T is driving me up the wall atm. He is such a climber, which is a shock because DS1 wasn't at all. But he is up on the dining table, and then tries to get down again and is missing the chair. I have caught him twice today, me at full stretch because I can't get there in time. What can I do? I am making sure he gets time in the garden - weather permitting - and he is now walking 50% of the way to collect DS1 from preschool every day, which is my attempt to wear him out physically!
Can you send 14 month olds to rugby lessons?

I end up strapping him into his buggy, or putting him in his cot when I need to get things done, otherwise he just goes around emptying cupboards and drawers - and climbing on the table. We have catches on everything but he has worked out how to open them. The latest is him trying to climb over the stair gate, fuck knows what we do about that one.
I am seriously considering some childcare for him, just so that I get a break. And so that DS1 gets some time at home when T isn't rampaging through everything. And I feel shit about that, both for DS1 and for T because I feel like I shouldn't have to outsource him!

Glaikit · 15/06/2012 18:01

AF HAS ARRIVED
[sighofreliefemoticon]

And typically I'm wearing new knickers today as part of the mn shapewear test. Bloody knew it!

That first test with the barely there +ve line was just sent to try me! Thank you guys for being so lovely, Thanks. :)

chillikat · 15/06/2012 18:50

Well the new knickers obviously brought it on.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 15/06/2012 19:38

phew! glad that's resolved for you Fizz! Grin

I was a bit excited for another baby, though

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 15/06/2012 19:51

Random question: F is getting a bit more obsessed with babies ("beebee!"), any recommendations for a doll we could get him?

I reckon, one which could have its clothes changed might have additional value.

Also, does anyone know of small, cheap, toy kitchen stuff? Not a proper play kitchen, but maybe a little hob or a nice little tea set. Preferably not pink - although F loves pink, I'm not sure I could stand to see it every day!

(he was 'feeding' the doll at the cm when I picked him up, had a strop when we had to stop him offering her a cup of tea as we had to leave!)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/06/2012 20:01

UBW - try ToysRUs or Sainsbury's. They have good imaginative play things really cheaply - tea sets, other kitchen/cleaning stuff, play food, medical sets and tool kits etc. And they tend not to be in the blue/pink gender specific sets that Early Learning etc do!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/06/2012 20:37

this is a good small kitchen UBW

Tis poncey, but the Emma Bridgewater tea sets are fab. Really good quality. Ikea also do good play food and cooking stuff.

Neither of the above are cheap, cheap, but I think they are a great quality for a good price. They will last more than one dc and they will still have 2nd hand value when your kids have finished with them

Glad AF arrived Fizz. you may well have been pg for a few days (hence the positive test), but had a very early miscarriage. It is quite common. Late or light periods are often because of delayed ovulation or early miscarriage.

Ali - How about a travel cot with a lid on for T? Grin I guess there aren't any magic answers, it certainly sounds like you are doing everything right. He is obviousy very active and it sounds like it's a case of managing the rampaging. Changing the cupboard locks for the magnet type ones, taking the chairs away from around the table so he can't get on it? Just keep two [one for you and your dh) chairs and put them on top of the table when you're not using them? Do whatever it takes to make your life easier.

Kittycatcat · 15/06/2012 20:41

Good stuff fizz

I feel like shite. Felt fine this am so went to the polo as planned. Nearly fainted at Waterloo and again at the polo. Anyone remember Beverly craven? She sang a few tunes and played the piano. Managed to enjoy my day but came home and emptied my bowels. Feel sick but don't want to eat. S has been sick again and still has the runs. And dh was off sick today feeling faint.

Glaikit · 15/06/2012 20:56

Ikea had some kitchen things the last time we were in. Pots pans, little plates and stuff.

Ali for your own sanity I'd say get T into a nursery or cm. B has come on leaps and bounds with our cm, and is far more social than some of my rl antenatal babies. A cm especially will have time to tire him out devote to playing with him. If it gives you an afternoon to spend with ds1 or get the hoovering done, or your hair done, it can only be a good thing. B actually cries some days when we go to pick him up because he wants to keep playing with the big boy toys the cm has! And he always is bedded early on cm days!

Kitty hope you are feeling better today.

Re cows milk B still has 3 bottles of around 7ozs. Morning nap, afternoon nap and bedtime because we somehow got into milk=sleepy time routine. I know it's probably too much, but he's still eating well, so I'm just going to go with him and what he wants.

Glaikit · 15/06/2012 20:58
