Good luck with the sleep lmf. dS seems to have developed a habit of waking just as I come to bed and demanding extra food, so am sat here feeding and REALLY hoping he'll give me a fair break. I am planning to increase his solids next week (he's only had tiny touches of apple/pear puree so far, oh and a lick of candyfloss). At some point this week I'll do a baby-food shop (sweet potato, parsnip, the usual suspects) and crack open the weaning icecubes... Have got my baby blender from the DDs (cuisinart mini grinder, it's great). The nice thing about weaning "early" is you can take things really slowly and back pff if baby isn't ready/interested. Unlike the screaming abdabs whenever he senses fake boobie substitutes milk "situation", he seems to quite like the puree so we'll see.

Goodnight girls and hope the nightshift is short!

aethelfleda · 07/05/2012 23:05

Ps good luck seven with the TTC for number 3: is it Duchenne MD your LO has, or Becker MD? That must be very tough for you guys with the recurrence risk for other siblings (or is it just something you are matter of fact about? Are you considering screening or just going for it? don't answer if that's too personal, no offence intended, I'm just curious)

LittleMissFlustered · 07/05/2012 23:13

Apparently sleep is for quitters:(

LittleMissFlustered · 07/05/2012 23:36

Yey made it to 3.30 again. Boo am starting to get DH's man flu which judging how he is coping may actually kill me and its due to kick in just as he goes back to work "at least it won't ruin your holiday" no dear it won't but then i'll be looking after the boys on my own.

My son is a foul baggage.

LittleMissFlustered · 08/05/2012 05:17

So, thread title suggestions? There's been a lot of 'Bob'ing recently so I'll kick things off with 'in Bob we trust'.

Any advances?

OP posts:
LittleMissFlustered · 08/05/2012 05:24

Or "we're going to need more fish!"

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 08/05/2012 06:36

Morning ladies am shattered.

Sky was awake most of the night had a rotten cold due to teething, so was not to happy last night - think she struggled breathing.

LMF We had a poomageddon here this morning too. I think you should combine the 2 thread title ideas about Bob & fish Grin

Air I'm sure the more Hope goes swimming the more she will enjoy it. Shame about Air not getting to go omega water slide. Sky has been having lessons for 3weeks so far. Should be going today but am waiting on a very important parcel (my new IPhone 4s is being delivered Smile)

Seven I can't wait to TTC3 but we are waiting till after the wedding.

AWomanCalledHorse · 08/05/2012 07:55

What thread number are we up too? 'and lo on thread N Bob delivered more haddock, praise be to Bob'

I think Bob/Fish is the way to go LMF (looking forward to a not too distant future thread called 'the one where DSM gets married')!

Talking to DH last night and he wants to stop ttc around this time next year. No pressure then.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 08/05/2012 07:58

AWCH No pressure about TTC then lol

Grin about the thread title for meeeee lol

mopsytop · 08/05/2012 08:41

Ugh minimopsy woke up at least once every half hr last night but sometimes three or four times an hour ( just enough for me to just drop off) so I'm pretty tired. 12 hrs of her feeling ok then yet another cold. Sigh. How many different cold viruses are there? Hundreds I suppose. I was going to take her swimming for first time today but she's so coldy/snuffly I guess I'd better wait til next week. But we are going to rhyme time in the library and then a long walk. What are you lot up to?

OiMissus · 08/05/2012 08:43

Hmmm... these children are plotting against us. BOi woke at 2.30 for a feed (he had also woken at 12.30) and then refused to go back in his cot.
Why do they scream when there's nothing wrong? He was really upset, really screaming, real tears. He had just been fed and changed, the room was at a nice temperature (got a silly gro-egg to prove it Wink) - all was well. And when he was put in our bed he gave us a smile. His crib is right up next to the bed, next to me, ... not good enough.
Am wearing a dress for work today, it's a double-breasted button up thing from All Saints. I felt quite stylish, but then I opened it carefully to feed BOi at nursery before abandoning leaving him, and when I rebuttoned it, there was the telltale wet patch. Grrrrr! "Little BOi don't you go wasting your milk by letting it dribble out of your mouth and onto my clothes! " BOi mischief!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 08/05/2012 09:15

What are everyone's plans for the day?
I've done my housework already:
All bedrooms tidy
Hoovered & polished
Sterilised Sky's bottles
unloaded the dishwasher
Gone round the kitchen & bathroom with the flash
put a load of washing on
emptied the dryer & folded the clothes
and got Darcie to breakfast club all before 9am check me out Grin

LittleMissFlustered · 08/05/2012 09:18

I've managed to get two thirds of my kids to school alive, in clean clothes and with food in their stomachs! The other third is asleep:o

Plan today is tea drinking and laundry:o

My two are safely delivered to school: now feeding up the Spawn, and need to damage-limit the house before the minister comes over for a cuppa at 11 (getting DS baptised soon, though very low-key).

Love the fishy/Bob thread titles! I shall be marking my plaice....

Figgygal · 08/05/2012 09:41

Well another night feed here at least it's only 1 this week not 2 like last week. It was at 4 o'clock in the morning and then he chuntered and cooed in bed for 20 mins when he went back down. He then started crying at 6.30 so went for his breakfast bottle and by Time got back upstairs he fell back asleep. I had to wake him up at 7:45 so that the bottle could be used. He's now in his jumperoo and taking him to get weighed this afternoon not looking forward to the inevitable cat bum face from the health visitors about his weight.

I got an iPhone 4 S a couple weeks ago i do love it but the voice recognition is very poor. I try to dictate my posts and texts with it but have to correct so much of it I may as well not bother.

Right boy bath time!!

Rashkakeller · 08/05/2012 10:14

Oi, I artfully layer terry toweling and muslins over myself prior to feeding and the little sod still manages to get me most of the time!!

Ds slept through 7.30-6.30 so that's 2 days straight. Sorry for those who had to get up through the night, probably be joining you again real soon. Dp wants to try weaning again but I'd rather wait until after dd's birthday and our week away so that would week 23. Let's see...

Ds is looking particularly cute this morning, all doe-y eyes and chubby cheekedness. We're off swimming later then going grocery shopping. I will do a bit of housework too but tomorrow is my main cleaning day.

This week:

Swimming
Grocery shopping
Housework
Ring up soft play to finalise arrangements for dd's party
Go to Tesco to buy balloons and banners
Make a chocolate birthday cake
See friends on Thurs morning
See Spain GPs on Thurs afternoon
Facial on Friday - got voucher for Mothers Day
Cinema on Friday - Spain GPs babysitting
Taking Boo shopping for her birthday presents Sunday morning
Family meal on Sunday

Then it's Boo's birthday on Monday so busy busy...I'm extra excited about her birthday this year because she knows that it's her birthday now iykwim?

Rashkakeller · 08/05/2012 10:17

Figgy hope the hv doesn't try to make you feel guilty for feeding your son!! Also hope you manage to refrain from smacking said cats bum face :o

aethelfleda · 08/05/2012 10:41

Figgy I am "forgetting" to go back to HV as she wanted to give me a "weaning talk" and I just can't face it so am voting with my feet and asking Mr Supermarket what he'd like to sell me instead...

Party sounds great fun !

HoneyLovesCake · 08/05/2012 11:06

Kitchen Envy NC. I love cooking & but our kitchen is tiny & the PIL's is a huge farmhouse kitchen with a range & separate cooker so I offered to cook the xmas dinner as we were spending the day there anyway. Wasn't quite as fun as I'd hoped but I did get to cook things I never would usually, being veggie. I don't like touching meat much either Kate but it was quite fun smothering a turkey in a whole packet of butter Grin & I made 4 desserts + xmas cake which was the best bit. I made so much food I even used the cooker in their attached holiday cottage!

aethel so glad I'm not the only one opting out of weaning talks. I missed Rocco's 3-4 month review with the nursery nurse (wtf is that anyway) as I just cba & I'd already made my decisions about weaning, got great advice on here & he's following his centile for weight. I have far more interesting things to do with our time :)

seven77 · 08/05/2012 11:24

aethel I don't mind people asking, it's Duchenne he has. I always wanted more children regardless but it took DH a long time to come round to the idea of ttc despite the risk, though I think it was more fear of what people would think, when we found out DS had it he overheard someone say we should have had him aborted Angry. We wouldn't have screening because I wouldn't have an abortion regardless, nothing against them as such but there are very few circumstances which would make me consider it. Also we're (perhaps foolishly?) expecting there to be an effective treatment within the next 10 years.

dsm and mopsy hope your LO's feel better soon.

Wine is nearly all sorted, just waiting for the cup of tea to cool then it's ready to sit near the radiator and do its fermenting. I love homebrew, and it's surprisingly easy. I should Hoover and might make a cheese and poppy seed loaf if I get round to it.
