pov not pod!

DeidreBarlow · 24/05/2012 23:20

Aargghh, DS only just gone back to sleep. He woke saying his eyes were sore?! But he's got a pretty high temp. Poor boy, might explain his weariness after school.

DeidreBarlow · 24/05/2012 23:22

X posts spot, glad B is in the mend.

urbanewarrior · 25/05/2012 07:19

Still not managed proper catch up yet - up with ds again all last night as he had v low temp and cold sweats. Am really hoping that means we're getting to the end of this one.

Just quickly wanted to say that Polyn o pyret has 20% off everything today. I got dd some stuff in their last sale and it's been brilliant and I think it was summer who pointed me in their direction. Also does anyone know a good place for cotton summer pjs? The ones I have been able to find are £££ and the kids room is ludicrously hot.

VagolaJahooli · 25/05/2012 09:08

Urbs I forgot to say yesterday (when the G&T was talking) sorry DS is unwell, he is such a darling. Would def love to get the big boys together again when we are over. We will be staying in St Katherine docks but will pop down to Greenwich for a play in the park for sure. Will look at dates as the time gets closer. Also is anyone interested in a meet up at the Olympic park? You can get tickets and just have a wander around.

I love POP, we still have quite a few POP clothes that have been handed down to DS2 from DS1, but look practically new. Whenever we go home I try to pick up a few bits from them if I can. Pricey I know but way better value for money than the cheaper brands. Urbs Boden & white company do pretty good jammies, I have a friend who swears by them and thankfully her son is just slightly bigger than DS1, hence we have a few of their pjs.

Spot could well be that it was scarlet fever, though any upper respiratory infection may have a similar effect. Well done to him for fighting it off. Look after yourself though, you don't want to be picking it up too.

Right I should get moving I've done minimal packing and we are leaving at midday when we pick up boys.

McKayz · 25/05/2012 13:42

Quick post. On way home from hospital after my growth scan.
Baby weighs 7lb 3oz now. Everyone is happy for homebirth to go ahead. They've said she's long rather than big.

JamInMyWellies · 25/05/2012 15:01

Yay great news Kayz.

urbanewarrior · 25/05/2012 17:36

Yay Kayz that is excellent news. So lovely to have another new baby. I am so enjoying dd2 - she is a complete delight. But other than that have had terrible day of shouting at dd2. Sometimes she seems to take every opportunity to do the opposite of what she's told. To be fait to her she might be coming down with it too. As am I probably although hard to tell as asthma also playing up because dh put a load of toxic bark chippings down in the garden and they give of noxious fumes in the sun. Also I'm pissed off with him because he trotted off to work this morning leaving us in unfavourable circs and I heard not a peep from him until he phoned at 4:15 to get me to measure something. He also has this blindness in the house - leaves things in massively inconvenient places on the grounds that he'll need them at some point in the future/never throws anything out in the fridge/walks past pile of things that need posting/leaves things flung about the house. Grrrr I am possibly BU but am fed up of feeling like skivvy. Sad

urbanewarrior · 25/05/2012 17:37

And vag yes yes to Olympic park meet up Grin much more enchanting prospect

KiwiPanda · 26/05/2012 19:11

Hey all just popped in on way back from holidays in sunny but sleep deprived Cornwall (DD2 doing some hardcore teething) - can you all send healing vibes in direction of my right foot please? After months of training for my 10k race tomorrow I've damaged the ligaments or tendons in my right foot and am not sure I can run at all let alone do decent time. Sad

OP posts:
McKayz · 26/05/2012 19:21

Oh no Kiwi thats rubbish! I really really hope it has healed enough for you to at least take part tomorrow. But don't risk making it worse if it doesn't feel good tomorrow.

urbanewarrior · 27/05/2012 11:01

Oh kiwi that must be gutting. Am crossing fingers for you

KiwiPanda · 27/05/2012 18:31

Well your good thoughts worked, foot held out - but Christ-on-a-bike it was hot. I think my head nearly exploded from sheer overheating. But managed to finish 20th which is quite pleasing (top twenty finish!). That's of the women, not sure how many women there were but overall was 1000 runners Grin

OP posts:
urbanewarrior · 28/05/2012 09:12

Wow kiwi that's really impressive. And I'm right in thinking that you've only just started running? Too late for London 2012? Wink

We are house of ill - I was clearly extra grumpy on Friday Blush and that was prelude to me getting virus ds has had. Poor thing is still not back at school and dd1 has milder version of it by looks of things. Is horrendous - almost like proper flu so we are feeling v sorry for ourselves. I know I have absolutely nothing to complain about given none of us is seriously ill but I don't think we've had a week where we've all been well since Easter and is really wearing. Luckily dd2 continues to be amazing baby - she is distilled sunshine and puts up with chaos around her to remarkable degree.

Hope you're all enjoying sun rather than suffering from it - my heart goes out to you pg in this weather Kayz.

McKayz · 28/05/2012 10:12

I have had the morning from hell. There are roadworks in town and the stupid idiots have managed to hit a gas pipe and closed part of the road and put up those little traffic lights.

It is only a small town so of course it is in chaos. We have 1 set of normal traffic lights. We pressed the button and waited for the green man and set off. Some bloody woman drove through a red light and nearly hit DS1. I then swore very loudly like a fishwife at this woman. I probably would have hit her if I could. Cue BHs.

Carry on to school drop of DS1. Went to DS2's playschool and there are about 6 steps to the door where most of the children sit waiting for it to open. Well one kid was mucking about with the door and swung it shut and it hit DS2 and rolled down the stairs. Cue screaming and I out of instinct picked him up. Loads of kicks and movement from baby and now bump hurts like hell.

To top it all of some arsewipe bloke shouted "You look a bit hot love, lose some weight fatso" at me.

I am now going to bed to cry and cry. Sad

urbanewarrior · 28/05/2012 13:11

Oh Kayz Sad poor you. I know it's easier said than done but wouldn't worry about the baby. They are pretty safe in there. But what a morning. Hope you are getting some rest.

And Angry at that man. Why a certain breed persists in shouting at women I have no idea. Pathetic. And imagine if you weren't pregnant. How hurtful. I have taken to shouting back - another development since I became a mother and started doing things mu mum used to do to my extreme embarrassment . Really shouldn't round our way as am probably taking life in hands. But hey ho. Is so frickin hot.

Am struggling to decide between listening to TMS or Blair at leveson (I know I am probably in minority but I heart TB) - tried to listen to both and in feverish/ half asleep state got v confused (Blair strides up to the crease...)

urbanewarrior · 28/05/2012 16:45

Oh and quick plea to obe if you are reading - friends of ours really struggling with non-sleeper. Could you pm me the details of your wondrous mrs sleep? We have no broadband ATM so can't easily message you sorry

Beans36 · 28/05/2012 17:37

Hi all! I am popping in as have been hunting for you all for some time! Did someone ask about summer PJs? Tesco and Asda do some great ones.

Holiday was fab, but have to deal with countdown to bedtime. Lots of love.

xxxx

KiwiPanda · 28/05/2012 19:23

Oh Kayz ignore the moron, some people just need a clip around the ear, as my dad would say. I'm with Urbane, I increasingly find myself shouting back, going to get in trouble one of these days..! And while you might have bruised yourself, that baby is pretty much in a bank vault in that there bump of yours!

Urbane I started running a few months ago after a break of about 6 years.. Now totally addicted. Actually tried to go for a run just now but my body pretty much said "No way!" after about 1 minute, clearly that run took a lot out of me yesterday. Hope your DDs are feeling better this evening.

OP posts:
Beans36 · 29/05/2012 13:36

Kayz - ignore the knobbers. So scary for you and your DS1. Poor you. Don't worry about the baby. When I was up the duff with DD1, I was painting our garden chairs at about 8.5 months and I heard a sort of click as I bent to do something and I swear I thought I'd snapped a bone in her or something. It was horrific. Had to lie down and weep. But she was fine! In fact, she had her school photo today, which was very sweet.

JollyBear · 29/05/2012 18:02

Hello everyone,

Kayz Do not let a complete arse upset you. You are a beautiful young woman, full of baby. Ignore.

Kiwi Wow. I'm very impressed with your running. Top 20 with a sore foot is incredible.

Urbs Hope you all feel better soon.

On my way back from hospital app. My kidneys are almost back to normal and it looks like it was just pre eclampsia which has taken an age to settle. Very happy about that.

Discovered yesterday that J can climb stairs. I found her about 4 steps up even though she has never even done one step before. Maybe she turns cartwheels behind my back too!

Beans36 · 29/05/2012 20:00

Stairgate, JB?!!! EEK! What a shock!

Kiwi - how do you find the time and, to be honest, the enthusiasm. I am so so impressed and know I ought to be spurred into action by you. I will start running again soon... Just not sure when! I haven't stopped eating all day today!

So, DD2 is about to turn TWO!!! Can you believe it? 20th June. I can't bear it! I think I'm going to get her this toy for her birthday - what do you think? I think it looks brilliant and will keep them both happy for ages!!! It's so hard with girls as they both always want what the other one has. At least they can play with that together some fecking hope

Honestly, I can't believe how grown up she is. She has full sentences and questions and such a big old vocabulary. I guess she's copying DD1, but it still is astonishing to me. She looks so grown up, too, with her thick head of blond hair. Oh weep! I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER BABY much.

Away to spag bol-dom.

xx

Beans36 · 29/05/2012 20:20

PS Where is everyone? It's oh so quiet on here xx

JamInMyWellies · 29/05/2012 20:40

Holy cow my spinning class was so mental have just had to fashion a car seat cover out of canvas shopping bags do I don't ruin the leather. Blush Bonus though is its two for one at dominoes for dinner. GrinGrin

Kayz what a Twonk.

Beans lovely pics of the fam on hols.

Back later my order is ready.

LadyThompson · 29/05/2012 21:03

I'm here! I ran out of time last week and since then I have been supine in Mum's garden, drinking wine and coffee and reading The Times cover to cover every day...Arrived back earlier this evening though.

Want to do big catch up but for now - Kayz, I am flipping the V to that dickweed. I do hope you are feeling better. People who shout out nasty remarks to people are just pathetic little chimps to be pitied.

Kiwi - I think you did brilliantly on the run - wow!

Welcome back from hols, Beans. Spot - how is poor dear DS2?

More soooooooon but supper is ready and Silk is about to start.
