Thought this title was appropriate given that (hopefully) things will be looking up for everyone!

I now have an engaged sister

Simplyred · 12/02/2006 22:07

How exciting PC! Weddings are great!

PiccadillyCircus · 12/02/2006 22:11

They're probably going to get married next year so I have put in a request for Alice to be a bridesmaid .

Simplyred · 12/02/2006 22:12

Mummyhill - good luck for work tomorrow xxx

Simplyred · 12/02/2006 22:14

Ahhhh PC how sweet - she'll be so cute as a bridemaid. Will DS be a page boy?

wabbitintheheadlamps · 13/02/2006 00:25

Mummyhill - good luck for tomorrow at work, hope you're managing OK

Awww PC sounds so lovely, to be in love and all excited! (trying not to get all wistful) One of our babes a bridesmaid... we'll want pictures you know!

Milward - it's wet here today, yesterday was cold though and dd, ds and I went hill climbing, Conrad got chilly feet and hands in his baby bjorn, N grumbled all the way up and only cheered up on the descent... I had to skip the main climb and change my planned route - still took a good 3 hours. Went to friends for supper on our way home - joining in their big, noisy, child infested house was so nice
The he element of the couple is a vicar and I was asking him about the formalities of getting C christened in the anglican church, apparently it's a right as a citizen of a parish - without having to become an attendee... not that going to church would be a huge issue for me, just the time factor.

It's facinating to see how other peoples relationships work... amazing how much flirting goes on within a happy long term relationship, you know, teasing and suggestiveness.

So quiet here, I've got my books all set out and ready but keep looking at The Green Mile which is one of my favourite films, and my knitting which is calling out to be done... so guess it's quiet apart from the noisy knitting!!!

Night night everyone xx

PiccadillyCircus · 13/02/2006 15:57

Where is everyone?

Alice says "ummmmmmm".

Bother, she has just pooed on her mat.

And on her feet.

Simplyred · 13/02/2006 17:57

Hello!

Rachel is rolling around like a rolling thing!

She squeeks loudly! Yesterday she had a little bit of milky rusk - she found it very interesting - but swolled little! Shes 21 weeks!

Ds is having swimming lessons every morning this week - clung onto my leg in fear at first - but soon warmed to the idea!!!!

Is any one doing fantastic things for Valentines? - doubt I will - although can live in hope of a sack of cards arriving!

jaamy · 13/02/2006 19:16

Hi all!
Have just been out to buy DH valentines pressie...a piece of smoked cheese!!! I know it's strange but he will really love it. I should think so too as it cost £10!!!! He's just phoned to say he'll be even later home as he wants to pop in to tesco on his way. Guess who's going to be getting the £4.50 roses!
A is still smiling through her cold which has now entered its 3rd week so still not able to have finsl injections.
And I was right about work. They want me to do all the naff jobs that no one else wants. So am now beginning job search which I could really be doing without during my last few weeks of mat leave.
Wabbit - So glad you had a good time out and about with C & N.
How was work, mummyhill? Hope it went ok.
Hope sallie and bubbles ok too.
Hope everyone else ok.

PiccadillyCircus · 13/02/2006 20:26

I have bought DH a card....but our main thing is the trip to Barcelona on Wednesday .

I haven't packed ANYTHING. And we are staying with DH's family tomorrow night.

Simplyred · 13/02/2006 20:41

Oh yes Barcelona !!

wabbitintheheadlamps · 13/02/2006 21:36

Hello!!!

Wow yes quiet on here today... I've been out and about as it's half term and dd has a friend for a sleepover tonight... they're just tucking into a pud of chocolate crepe with raspberry coulis... I have so far resisted for the sake of my poor hips! don't know how long this abstinence will last!

Not doing valentines... wonder why???

Hope you all have lovely days... I've got my tiny valentine anyway, he's beautiful!

I'm in the middle of composing a letter to DP, I really can't find the words when we talk, he's got exams coming up too so we're giving eachother a wide berth until afterwards.

Have a fabulous time in Barcelona PC xxx

wabbitintheheadlamps · 14/02/2006 03:50

I'm still locked in the battle of getting this letter to DP written... It's so difficult... feels like I've been here before - such a strange feeling of deja-vu [confused emoticon]

pooka · 14/02/2006 07:21

You must be shattered Wabbit
What are you trying to say in the letter? Is it your perspective on this whole thing, or what you want him to do to move on? Or everything? It must be so hard.
How is Conrad sleeping now? Has he gone back to being an ace sleeper? Tom's begun to be a daytime sleep refuser unless really makes the effort. Nightime not so bad although he's been awake more or less since 4am. Ho hum. But he and Lucy both have appalling colds AGAIN. Harrummph Hope you've managed to get some sleep. How were the sleepover girls?

mummyhill · 14/02/2006 08:23

Morning all.

Sorry I havent posted but I was out running the mums and tots yesterday. We had a really low turn out and I didn't even take enought to cover the rent (sad) let alone the fruit and biscuits.

We aren't doing valentines as there is a distinct lack of money atm.

Food wise I am having to be quite creative but at least we are surviving.

Work went ok last night but I ended up not getting any sleep when I did get home as David had been crying for me most of the night and wouldn't settle unless he was being cuddled by yours truly. DD wet the bed again last night and was apparently quite unsettled by my return to work. Am wondering if I have made the right decision regardless of the money situation.

mummyhill · 14/02/2006 08:31

With regard to the quiz. Sorry to those who logged on before me this morning. I have removed the music element from the quiz this morning and left it as childrens entertainment/literature.

I will be changing the question pool every Sunday so the quiz will be closed briefly for a time each Sunday. Please let me know what topics you would like me to search for questions on so that we can try and find something to appeal to everyone so that we all stand a chance of getting a good score!!!!

pooka · 14/02/2006 08:33

What a tough call to make Mummyhill. I'm sure that if you do keep on working your little ones will adapt just fine. What hours will you be working - I mean, they're at home with your dh aren't they? It will be unsettling initially, but I'm sure they'll settle down soon.

jaamy · 14/02/2006 10:34

Mummyhill - as pooka says, the littlies will get used to it and after all you are doing it for the family...unless you're spending all the £££ on diamonds and shoes!!! And it will probably do you good to get out in the world of work again. Did DH cope ok, apart from D missing you?
Wabbit - hope you finally found the right words. Must be really strange writng a letter like that today. Enjoy the day with your little valentine, C.
DH loved his cheese! What does that say about our relationship? Will be having a nice meal at home tonight if DDs permit. Followed by the ton of chocs that DH bought me - sure I mentioned to him once or twice that i'm trying to be good but Tescos don't do a great line in sexy undies (in my size anyway!) or jewellery!!! Bless him!

jaamy · 14/02/2006 10:37

Oh, yes, again PC! Enjoy Barcelona! Every year I promise myself we'll do something for valentines as it's half way between mine and DH's birthday...but here we are again...oh well, next year...

PiccadillyCircus · 14/02/2006 12:05

WHy did I log on gto the quiz before you mummyhill .

I am a Chalet School fan as well pooka - you're not in FOCS as well are you (this will probably mean nothing to anyone )

jaamy · 14/02/2006 12:40

Have I missed something? Never even heard of chalet school? Is it a tv/book series or something?

PiccadillyCircus · 14/02/2006 12:44

Children's series about a girls' boarding school. First one was written in 1925, last one in 1969. There is a fan club called Friends Of the Chalet School with over a thousand members.

milward · 14/02/2006 12:51

hello all - My dd1 has a hernia & will have an operation next week. Have been sorting this out today - with dd3 & ds4 in tow. She was really brave to have a blood test & see the doc. Apparently she was born with it but it has only now popped out. Op in a few days but feel so nervous for her. Know that I'll be really worried. She'll have to stay overnight as well. I took her to school after all her checks & all her class cheered when she went in & rushed up to hug her. I was really touched by this.

Next week I'll have dd3 off pre-school & then the week after dd2 off school - plus dd1 recovering. Just hope she'll be ok - she'll get 2 weeks off school.

dd3 has been hopping around & wont do the business on the loo - just know that at school pick-up time it will be a big shout to get her ready & out. Ahhhhhh..........

here ds has a vaccination on thursday - just hoping it goes ok.

Mummyhill - hope things will get better with working.

Wabbit - thoughts xxx

want to write more but dd3 is banging on a pan or something downstairs!!!!..........

PiccadillyCircus · 14/02/2006 12:55

I hope DD1's operation goes OK - it sounds like she has been being very brave.

Rhumba · 14/02/2006 13:27

wabbit hope you got your letter sorted was feeling tired myself before I read yours and mummyhill's posts. In comparison feeling positivly bouncy(well maybe not)It's half term for DS and he was a bit bored this am and wouldn't let me get on with the chores without constant interuptions. Ended up doing some gardening whilst he roamed around digging up the daffs.

Both seem to bed full of cold too.

Dh cooking annual valentine meal tonight -he seldom cooks and if he does it's chilli or spag bog. Not sure what's on the menu but there'ssomething marinading in the fridge! (just hopeI'm not asleep by the time he's worked out how to cook it!
