When I'm doing bed time this is what I do!

Feed dd at 3.00 before collecting ds from school
4.00 back from school - oven on
4.10 watch deal or no deal! - whilst cooking tea for ds and me.ds gets all his toys all over floor!
5.00 eat discuss day! dd sits in her bouncy chair.
6.00 ds watches Simpsons whilst I fed dd
6.30 ds and dd are bathed - usually ds in bath and dd in her little bath - as ds splashes and gets over excited!
6.40 dry and jimjams!
6.45 storys in ds's room - he reads his school book & I then read a story he choses - dd lies next to him and ds likes to cuddle her
7.10 kiss ds night night
then try to settle dd in her room with a cuddle and then her mobile on!
Then tidy up toys, bathroom and tea stuff! Check if ds's school clothes are ok - or need changing! make bottles & Collapse in heap!

jaamy · 08/02/2006 10:58

Gosh, you all have your los tucked up much earlier than I do! Think, no, I know I'm doing something very wrong but DD1 has kind of gotten used to the late bedtime and DD2 will probably follow suit.
Sarahhal - know exactly how you feel. No sure we'll ever get round to having another, well not for a very long time anyway so each little milestone with DD2 makes me because it might be the last time. Dreading stopping BF. I might turn into "bittie" from Little Britain!

mummyhill · 08/02/2006 11:29

Sarahhal - It only takes a few mins so I wouldn't worry too much about it distracting you from your chores.

mummyhill · 08/02/2006 11:31

DD goes to bed at 8 and is up again at 6 full of beans.

David is put in the travel cot at this time and left to his own devices and we take him up with us when we go to bed. This is beacuse he still has an 11pm feed and usually has me up again at 4.

wabbitintheheadlamps · 08/02/2006 11:48

I'm no good at your quiz mummyhill - the questions seem so american. 5 out of 5 today... does everyone get the same set of questions?

Simplyred · 08/02/2006 11:50

jaamy - if you are happy with bed time all is good - my ds gets up really early so I get him to bed early - have tried a later bed time but he still got up early!!! LOL - WANT BITTIE - says Abi aged 37!!

jaamy · 08/02/2006 13:22

Yes, I'll still be getting 'em out when I've got my bus pass!! LOL!
Am a bit . Had a fone call from my manager at work who told me that because she she is moving from the midlands to Torquay she can no longer manage me (I am in the NW). Has given me 2 options - 1)to move to another manager still within marketing who has a bigger team and because I'm up here and they're all based in South Wales I know I'm going to get all the crappy jobs or 2)move out of marketing into admin which I neither enjoy nor am any good at. Am a little too. Don't see why my job should suffer just because she's decided to move house. Been thinking they've been trying to get rid of me for a while as I only joined the company as part of an acquisition anyway. As if I wasn't dreading going back to work enough!

mummyhill · 08/02/2006 13:30

I think that the website is based in america so unfortunatly a fair few of the questions are biased that way. There is a way that we can load our own questions but I have to work out how to do it. I am not sure if everyone gets the same questions or not it wasn't something that I had thought about.

mummyhill · 08/02/2006 13:34

Have found the UK question base will load it up in the morning do you want easy - intermediate or hard questions?

beatie · 08/02/2006 13:35

Pooka ~ I've only put dd1 and dd2 to bed on my own once. Last night DH had to work late and I got my mum over to help me The problem I find is what to do with dd1 whilst I put Alice to bed. The one time I did it, she remained engorssed in the TV for 5 minutes and then stood outside my door whispering "MUMMY" very loudly.

Pooka yours and DH's bathtime routine with dd sounds lovely.

Mummyhill - I've joined the quiz now. My score is a little pitiful. And I didn;t really think horses had cousins but for some reason felt compelled to tick that box I'll endeavour to do better tomorrow.

Milward - I'd take it as a compliment if they thought you looke dlike the nanny. My impression of a nanny is someone who looks like they had time to get dressed without interupption - ditto to brushing/styling their hair.

sarahhal - I'm sure I'll feel sad when Alice isn't breastfeeding anymore. I'm 95% certain she's our last baby.

jaamy - sorry to hear about the potential upheaval with your job.

So, I spent the best part of yesterday afternoon trying to connect a buggy board to my pushchair. I'm usually good at reading instructions and putting things together but the buggy board is very complicated. I'd promised I'd take Olivia to the library and return her books but I didn't get the buggyboard sorted until half an hour before it closes.

And then when she stood on it, the brake was activated, so I need to move it higher up.... which involves going back several steps in the connection process.....argh!

So, what else.... I'm pleased to see some sunshine poking through the clouds today. I am so sick of grey skies. My parents are off to Malaysia next week I wish I could swap places with them.

Instead we'll be painting Alice's room and transitioning her into it. I hope we can put a stop to the frequent night wakings else I'll end up sleeping on the floor of her room.

Has anyone got a wooden highchair? I'm looking for one which has a removeable tray and is adjustable. There's an East Coast one and Babies R us seem to do one. Anyone know if they're any good?

beatie · 08/02/2006 13:38

Intermediate?

mummyhill · 08/02/2006 13:47

From the comments regarding questions I would say that everyone gets different questions so that you can't cheat by asking a friend for the answers

PiccadillyCircus · 08/02/2006 13:51

Easy? Or maybe intermediate.

But not hard

mummyhill · 08/02/2006 13:55

Ok will load easy to intermediate range and see how we get on. I created an account in dh's name and got a completley different set of questions to the ones I answered this morning!!!

milward · 08/02/2006 14:08

jaamy - sorry to hear about your job news. Hope things sort themselves out.

mummyhill - haven't joined youir quiz as I'm absolutely useless at these

beatie - our buggy board wreaked dd3 pushchair just by the force on it when I turned corners in the supermarket!! hope yours is better. Interested to read the answers on the highchair. Mine is one of those metal/plastic adjust height from sitting at to floor on floor to up at the table. Has withstood use from 3 kids - but takes up room & not easy to clean the cloth straps after use as they can only be unscrewed. Really stupid design!

Will think of all the routines this evening as I'm getting my little ones into bed!

sarahal - thinking of you & your stopping bf xxx be kind to yourself xxx

wabbitintheheadlamps · 08/02/2006 15:11

Thanks Mummyhill - I'll probably do no better though!

I forgot to mention amidst everything that C is progressing to solids already - and kind of at his own request!!

Last friday when he'd had a big feed after dropping Noop off to school I sat down with him to eat my scrambled eggs whilst he had a nudie kick about - the poor little mite looked so hungrily and longingly at my eating that i skedadled into the Kitchen to quickly sterilise his bowl and spoon.

I'd already been recommended to try him with some natural bio yoghurt (for his upset bowels) and I rang my sister to check that banana was ok to sweeten it with banana. He actually giggled over his first spoonsful, I think it might be addictive though as he's now a seriously withdrawing baby if his food's not materialised by 1pm!

I'm amazed as I thought with him being a wee one that he'd probably be late rather than early to show signs of desire to try foods... I've yet to buy the Annabel Carmel book yet but I'm going to do him some butternut squash for tomorrow

The banana and yoghurt has done wonders for his tummy - I'm now back to washables full time without having to cope with messes in every change

He's very keen on taking control of the spoon and it becomes a wonderful face bath of sticky stuff

Simplyred · 08/02/2006 15:12

Mummyhill - Simplypimply is dh! he got different questions than me - he was faster = but no where near as fast as pc!

Sorry to hear about your job jaamy.

wabbitintheheadlamps · 08/02/2006 15:13

sorry silly mistakes in the post - was typing too quickly

Simplyred · 08/02/2006 15:39

Wow Pooka! Triva Queen xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Simplyred · 08/02/2006 15:39

Or Trivia even!!!

mummyhill · 08/02/2006 16:29

I wish I had sent her to school. Her temp has been a little high but she has been into everything. Everytime david went to sleep his darling big sister has woken him up.

Can't get him to settle now because he is sooo sleepy but fighting it.

lexiemum · 08/02/2006 19:03

I've got a chicco mama (i think) reclinable highchair with adjustable height - wouldn't be without it! tried baby rice with dd2 last week whilst in bouncy chair at floor level - dd1 wanted to feed - she nearly choked her! Highchair is now out of loft alot sooner than I thought.

these ones hot £99 or so brand new but I got mine in near perfect condition at an nct sale for £20

nct sales start again in march, so anyone who still needs one - hang on

Rhumba · 08/02/2006 20:42

that was fun Mummy hill, had to guess a couple.

We got the mamas and papas high chair, prima something. it's great, really good to look at reclines nicely very adjustable but a pig to clean. When (and it seems like a lifetime ago) I was on mat leave and pregnant I decided to give it a proper clean and ended up having to get a crew driver out and take it to bits!

wabbitintheheadlamps · 08/02/2006 22:34

Good idea asking about highchairs - I've been thinking that a more natural real piece of furniture would be better than yet more plastic babyware... My sister has suggested that I continue to use his bouncy chair until he can sit on his own as this will broaden my choices... Milward - I liked the one from Babys'r'Us... the Multifunctional Wooden High Chair.. if you've got the catalogue it's at the top of page 151

I'd lose Conrad in one of these at the moment but it would fit so well with the rest of the house (hark at me!!! )

jaamy · 08/02/2006 23:43

Thanks for sympathy over job "bluergh"!!!! After initial upset I have realised that my career is kind of on hold anyway at the moment until I can go back full time (probably when both DDs in school) so no big deal if I have to hang around doing boring stuff for another few years (can't believe I'm saying that)!!!! Just would have been nice to get back where I left off back in Aug without having to worry about it 6 weeks before I'm due back. Have resolved to get it all sorted out tomorrow and then forget about it for now.
Wabbit - cabe sounds like he's enjoying his grub. LOL at his little sticky face.
Sallie - are you ok? not heard from you for a while.
