Well done everyone some fantastic results on the quiz today. I have loaded the more difficult UK general knowledge questions for the morning beings as we have all played.

We can generate our own question pool so please feel free to email questions (with the answers)to windyjo1athotmaildotcom.

mummyhill · 10/02/2006 08:11

OK how do I feed the whole family on a budget tighter than a knats a**hole?

beatie · 10/02/2006 08:44

What kinds of things do your family like to eat? Meat? Tuna? I have two easy cheap tuna receips that my dd1 loves. Want those?

mummyhill · 10/02/2006 09:03

I am the only one who will eat fish.

Money ran out this week and I am not sure how much I will get paid next week. The freezer, pantry and fridge are looking a bit bare. I have a fray bentos pie, pasta and rice and not much else. I have £10 plus whatever DH earns from teaching on sunday after he has paid out his rent for the room. DH won't eat baked beans!!!

mummyhill · 10/02/2006 09:04

My mum has bought a load of jars and packet mixes for david and she buys his formula each week to help me out so I don't have to worry about him too much iyswim.

beatie · 10/02/2006 09:09

Do you have cream cheese in the fridge? I sometimes do pasta with mushrooms, cream cheese and a little milk. It's very cheap, easy and tasty.

Make up a large batch of chili or bologneise and have it one day with pasta and then another day with baked potatoes and cheese.

Pop in a supermarket and find a BOGOF deal i.e. pizza and have it twice this week.

WOW i love birthdays. happy belated birthday to wabbit and nat, not so happy for you wabbit, hope everything gets a little better soon, i didn't realise there was another child involved in this mess too. i think you should drag him on the jeremy kile show. i'd love to go on that show, he is so sexy, and i have a huge crush on him. LOL

beatie · 10/02/2006 10:47

Happy Birthday Bubbles. Enjoy your day!

mummyhill · 10/02/2006 11:19

Thanks Beatie.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Bubbles

jaamy · 10/02/2006 12:44

Happy birthday bubbles, have emailed you!
Mummyhill - one word for you - PASTA! Children love spagetti in a tomato sauce. It's really filling and you don't even need to add any meat - thoughj you can add tuna or cheese if you can afford it. Make a claay version with pesto and french bread for you and DH. Also agree BOGOF offers are really good! Happy creating

jaamy · 10/02/2006 12:46

You should be making a "classy" version, not a "claay" version!!!!

Simplyred · 10/02/2006 12:54

Happy birthday bubbles.

Mummyhill - sorry money is so tight - would dd and dh eat jacket potato - filling and economical - I like melted cheese in mine.

wabbitintheheadlamps · 10/02/2006 16:15

Happy Birthday Bubbles from Wabbit XXXX You should feel like a queen! Have a lovely lovely time with your family

Jeremy Kyle??? oh dear I suppose it does sound like a Kyle Show special... Made me giggle though, just the thought of it It'd be so unlike me to drag an argument into a public forum

Mummyhill - huge empathy with the budget shortfall - know just what this can be like... Can you get some Turkey rather than Chicken and just do your fave chicken dish with this? Any spare jars of Chicken Tonight in your cupboard? really good with rice and peas (peas in freezer?) Pasta's brill too - small pot of single cream and some ham and a bit of pepper - cheese melted in the sauce is nice too. Wish there was more I could do sweetie {{{Hugs}}}

Beatie - those Tuna suggestions would go down a treat in our house

love to everyone xx

beatie · 10/02/2006 19:32

Wabbit - I'll share the recipes tomorrow when I have more time.

pooka · 10/02/2006 20:35

Happy birthday Bubbles.
I'd buy plenty of potatoes and eggs. Omlettes, scrambled egg etc. Stuffed potatoes, potatoes in the omlette. Pasta. Couldn't your dh just hack baked beans - needs must and all that. (personally I LOOOVE baked beans on toast.
All quiet here. First night on own went really well - both asleep by 7.30 which is a whole hour earlier than usual. Felt very calm and positive and dd loved her SIX stories (three in our bed while I fed Tom to sleep, then three in hers).
Tom has a temp of 104! He's been really sleepy all day, and just not quite "with it" But calpol has worked in making him a bit cooler and he's asleep with a fan on. Will see how he is in the morning. He just hasn't been his shouty self today, has a bit of a blocked nose, but is feeding ok (ish) and lots of wet and dirty nappies. Anyway - time to chill!

milward · 10/02/2006 21:08

Hope your ds is feeling better pooka. Hope your evening goes well.

Happy birthday bubbles! enjoy 26!!!

mummyhill - I make soups & pasta. Often the kids have soup, bread & butter. They love this. Cheese on toast goes down well.

wabbit - you must have read my mind on the highchair - thought I'd asked about it as well!!

best wishes to all!

Simplyred · 11/02/2006 15:34

Hope Tom is better today Pooka.

Are you all enjoying the sun shine?!

pooka · 11/02/2006 17:02

Hi SR - yes Tom much better. Slept from 7pm until 5.30 am which is unprecedented, and a sure sign he was under the weather, I think. Haven't a clue what was wrong, though his cheeks are bright red today so wonder if it's teething. dd was nothing like this when teething though - just goes to show how different babies can be.
Lovely weather but cold cold cold. Not helped by dh having the back door open all day while he did some DIY so we're all wearing coats!
Went to see my PIL's new house today. It's lovely and I'm very particularly as they're keeping their existing house until this one is decorated and renovated (prob till summer at earliest).
Hope everyone else well. It's half term next week so dd not at pre-school but have bookings for MIL, my mother and my father on Weds Thurs and Fri, and a party on Tuesday so it's all go for her at least. Tom and I will be doing plenty of mooching and maybe shopping

mummyhill · 11/02/2006 20:54

The quiz was just too hard today. I have loaded some music questions and stuff for children for tommorrow.

jaamy · 12/02/2006 08:07

Just done the quiz...not good! Morning all!

PiccadillyCircus · 12/02/2006 14:47

Hello everyone .

Ny sister and boyfriend are getting here soon with some "news". They've been with my parents this weekend as well. I am hoping that wedding bells may be chiming some time soon (although DH is hoping they have won the lottery )

milward · 12/02/2006 20:22
