I am feeling fed up. My nights seem to be getting worse not better. Finally settled DD in moses at 11, she wakes up at 12 wailing, does a massive poo, feed, back in moses at 1, wakes up at 3.30 for a feed, won't settle in moses afterwards so she ends up asleep on me at 5, then wakes up for another wailing poo and feed at 5.50. So I've had 3ish broken hgours and DS will be up in an hour.

Going to get DH to look after DS when he wakes up soI can have a semi lie in if dd let me. Feels like its all going really wrong at the moment :(

Please prepare me a haddock for when DH complains how tired he is today after his 7/8 hrs unbroken sleep...

Thanks all.
He has just slept through 830-515 again it's like having two different babies!

I am mix feeding the idea is to bf all day & bottle just before bed.
He has a bottle if Dh is looking after him or I'm in a huge rush with the girls.

I think I'm going to try ff on a schedule one day & expressing to see if that makes a difference.

hawthers · 11/02/2012 06:23

mmm I feel for you. Stinky Haddock on hand in case you need it for your Dh.

My Dh is getting one today (haddock I mean def nothing more exciting). He seems to have forgotten the 4 nights he's had of unbroken sleep in the spare room. And at the weekend he is back in our room but all he has done is snore and unsettle ds2 just when I got him back in the Moses basket and then deny it!

Was also wondering where tyel was. Anyone know if she has posted elsewhere?

YBR · 11/02/2012 06:30

Err.. Morning.

Just had the best evening for days with BabyYBR - she's got into a habit of wailing from about 17:30 while we have our tea, then not settling after bath/bedtime routine until about 10pm. Yesterday we did bath and feed then took her with us to band practice, which she slept through. Settled quickly when we got home and slept till 00:30 then 0500.

Sample of one, but I may need to try music to get her to sleep in future!

aethelfleda · 11/02/2012 09:32

Morning. Am hiding in bedroom with cuppa, brie sandwich and phone while lovely DH makes the DDs breakfast and has DS in the baby swing thing. So it's very quiet and there's no baby hanging off me!

We were planning to take the DDs to see The Muppets when I remembered about having DS with us... So if they go this afternoon I think I'll be waiting for the DVD (or a baby cinema session, doubt they'll show the muppets though!

I've not heard from tyel either: I may drop her a PM. Suspect she's just busy getting better (hope so!)

air and kri5ty, hope you both survived the HV experiences...

aethelfleda · 11/02/2012 09:43

Aha! Bit of stalking later with the search function (sorry tyel!) shows she posted at the start of Feb on a couple of chat threads so is clearly a) alive and b) compus mentis. Have PM'd her but I suspect all is well.

AnAirOfGreatExpectations · 11/02/2012 09:52

Morning everyone.

update:(Grin)

HV impressed with house, Air and Hope, who is 10lb 9oz now and is following the 25th centile for weight and her head measurements. HV commented "She is perfectly proportioned" Hmm Grin she is going to come again in 8 - 9 weeks time ( i guess to check i dont have PND) so we have a little break.

Homestart person came Friday morning and said that there is nothing for her to do and she is just having a chat! She will write her report and has nothing but posative things to say. She is trying to get me to say that i co-sleep with Hope i think but as she sleeps in her cot next to my bed she will have a long wait - i dont think its safe co-sleeping with a young baby as i'm a deep sleeper!

Friday night i found out where everyone else with kids go - we went to the wacky wearhouse for a meal and Air played in the softplay with grandparents watching he. He made friends with 5 other older boys and it was so nice seeing him play with other children Smile

As its -5 outside now i think it will be a sofa/duvet day for us, but i still might send DH out for chocolate Wink

I can't wait for the spring and summer so i can take Air out on his bike and have picnics.

Also we went to baby massage on Friday afternoon it was ok but they have stoped the hot drinks so i couldn't have a cuppa and sent DH out to costa this morning and the water was off so no hot drinks.

My kingdom money for a horse designer coffee!

off to catch up

KateM77 · 11/02/2012 09:54

That's great news about tyel

kri5ty sounds like you've had a bit of a breakthrough, that's fantastic Grin

I never thought I'd be saying this but....I had to wake DS last night because he slept so long Shock. I hate to do it, but I got to the point where I started to worry, and my boobs were agony! He slept 9.45-5. If only I hadn't had to go in to unhappy DD prior to that, it would have been great. She's still not right today, hope she's on the mend soon. At least DH here to help although of course she just asks for 'Mummy cuddles' all the time

hawthers · 11/02/2012 10:00

What is the name of a baby de-snotter? Ds is very snuffly and bunged up. Plus where do I get one from?

OiMissus · 11/02/2012 10:13

Great news, Kristy. Grin
Sympathy (for the ladies) and a fat sweaty haddock for their husbands.
air I loved your kingdom money statement, you are inspirational. That is, I'm going to go and get a coffee.
We're going for a meal tonight and Alistair is going to a friend's. Yikes. The restaurant is 300 yards away fromher house, and it'll only be for a few hours. I need to express some supplies. (is it acceptable to get the electric pump out in front of a 12yr old nephew?!) Blush

OiMissus · 11/02/2012 10:17

hawthers I got one of those squeezey/sucky snot things in a pack. It's rubbish. A bit of rolled up tissue was better. And the saline drops seem to do the trick nicely. I think aethel mentioned a device that you suck on (with a filter), which sounds gross but effective!

aethelfleda · 11/02/2012 13:12

It's the delightfully named "baby nose-clear". I got mine from a big tesco for £7 or £8 ish. amazon link here a bit TMi, but it will clear all the "runny snot" at the front of the nostrils, won't clear entire sinuses out or the really gunky deep snot. It's very good to use before a feed when baby is snuffly.

Sitting here feeding freya trying not to get depressed as FIL and DH take the kitchen apart. I am not going to have a sink or work surfaces for 2 weeks as we are fitting the new kitchen ourselves to save money. Meanwhile MIL and DS are playing with every toy ds has and making the house a tip and ds is being evil. MIL is too leniant on him and he is now at the age to manipulate this and plays her up massively, but she still doesnt get cross with him and it is hard to overrule her without causing upset.

On a positive point freya slept till after 3am and the back till nearly 7. Sadly ds shouted out twice getting me up for no reason.

OiMissus · 11/02/2012 15:03

P.S. air - I'm really happy to hear that, for once, the "professionals" are on your side.Smile

luckysevens · 11/02/2012 16:48

Hi all, hope everyone is having a good Saturday.

I've decided I must have an exceptionally long baby, she weighs 10lb but has just outgrown her 0-3month (14lb) sleepsuits! My parents came over this morning, my mum had a new knitted cardigan for Eva. Now sitting with DS and watching cars 2.

AnAirOfGreatExpectations · 11/02/2012 18:02

We are watching Despicable me and DD is in swing.

Mexican for tea - nacho's and old alpassa Grin

msbuggywinkle · 11/02/2012 19:08

seven Miri is long too, also 10lb, but out of her 0-3.

I seem to be having a vain day...got my new glasses, and done the MN hair cut! We also went to the farmer's market and had hog roast sandwiches for lunch, was delicious. I have 2.5kg of gammon in the slow cooker, from a farm up the road and it cost £6.50! Cold gammon, new potatoes and salad for lunch tomorrow!

air that is great to hear!

Hope everyone's babies have another night of lots of sleep...I am off to do an abs workout!

Kri5ty · 11/02/2012 19:39

msb stop showing us up!! An abs workout!! I really need to start something, i miss my lovely obliques on my abs lol, i'm currently sporting a jelly belly!!

air that is fantastic about the hv, luckily i saw a different one, who wasn't really too interested! Can i ask you about homestart, how do you find them? Someone suggested them to give me some support because of the ME

thanks aethel, kate and oi :) it was very strange feeling, hit me all at once lol

mmm did you need the haddock for OH?

I need a haddock, since sunday afternoon i have had Saul literally 24/7 (ok so its more like 24/6!) every change, feed, wind, play, bath and bedtime... today OH has been out all day and is out tonight... so i need a haddock on stand by for tomorrow morning when he complains of being tired and/ or hungover!!

oi enjoy your night!!

luckysevens · 11/02/2012 21:05

I really need to lose a few lbs, I'm still a stone above my pre-pregnancy weight. I've started trying to eat a bit healthier though and I've swapped wine for diet lemonade .

Oh dear kristy, sounds like he definitely needs a haddock.

LittleMissFlustered · 11/02/2012 21:25

Running on empty today after a bad night. Been feeding for a while now, hoping for a couple of unbroken hours. Keep your digits twisted for us and I'll return the favour:o

LittleMissFlustered · 11/02/2012 21:26

I saw some haddock on the reduced shelf in tesco... Bet that would go stinky very quicklyWink
