Morning ladies,

Claudia woke at 6 this morning Sad and DH is being a grumpy bear at the moment Angry but [dances] I DON'T CARE [dances] because I Have A Job Offer!!!! Grin. I am now playing hard to get and waiting it out until next week before I accept as I think I might get an offer from another place that I slightly prefer.

But, life has just got a bit less stressful, Claudia's first shoes won't be made of tree bark and string, she won't be raised on gruel and leaves, with a slice of mouldy bread on Sundays, I won't still be ramming a 3yr old into a bulging infant car seat, and more to the point, we can go skiiiiiiiing! [nods to Borg].

Hoorah, victory is mine [dances].

Sorry, that's very me me me me me me, and err...did I mention I have a job offer?

OK, shutting up now.

D

americanexpat · 15/02/2012 10:41

Delia - a job offer, well done!! Such a relief to have something, fingers crossed that you get the other offer as well.

44me - I'm LOLing at "Arsey".

Borg - come over to the dark side of Facebook. Grin L blew a snot bubble a few weeks ago and it made me think of Nate.

ILovePonyo · 15/02/2012 11:27

reastie · 15/02/2012 14:46

Happy Birthday to Anna and Leo Grin

Go delia go delia - you'll have them fighting for you soon Wink

blizy Grin to us kicking you out

ledkr has ella named the hamster? We always used to have guinea pigs when I was growing up - my last one was a gender confused male called Sir Smeogal Didymus Grin Grin

ponyo glad yesterday went well

deb yuck yuck yuck.

Was due to visit Granny this afternoon but have had to postpone due to cold Sad - that's nearly 3 weeks I haven't been able to go as Alice or I have been coldy. Isn't it amazing that in september she was given a month to live and she's still here.

Tried to vacum out the car this morning - think Alice thought how dare I Hmm and SCREAMED the street out the whole time in her buggy while I tried vacuuming. Had to give up Confused

Oh, I can sense an awkward moment - our neighbour asked DH if he could do some work on his garden (DH a gardener) so DH went over and priced and told me elderly neighbour was a bit Shock at DHs rate. DH come home early to do the work for this neighbour and is doing it now. Neighbour is out. DH told me neighbour hasn't actually confirmed he's willing to pay his rate (DH's words 'he didn't say no...' ). This neighbour has been my neighbour since I was born (remember I moved into my parents old place?) and has done quite a bit of work over the years for my mum and me for free (he's a retired plumber) so I felt bad DH was charging the neighbour for the work, let alone seemingly doing it without proper confirmation he was willing to pay for it (it's like £80). It's all going to be hideously awkward isn't it Confused Blush

reastie · 15/02/2012 14:46

I meant gender confused female

debka · 15/02/2012 14:51

reastie does DH know the family history? TBH I would expect him to do it for free. That doesn't help much, does it, sorry Confused Lovely to hear your Granny is still going strong, hope you can visit soon :)

MizK · 15/02/2012 15:17

Hi ladies, and a big Happy Birthday to Anna and Leo! Plus belated to Nate and Anya obvs xxxxx
Thanks for the shtty story deb* maybe it will induce me to stop eating chocolate also?
Happy babymaking blizy!
Well done delia, you will be taking your pic of lovely jobs I think.
Glad we all seem to have nice Valentines Days, DP and I agreed not to bother this year, we just had a nice meal (cooked by me, hmmmm!) and a bottle of champagne, I then took pity on him and dragged on some vaguely saucy attire and a massage bar :) God champagne has a lot to answer for!
Just enjoying Cass's late afternoon nap :) I swear, I put a little duvet in her bed rather than using her gro bag for naps and she sleeps soooo much better, and looks heavenly all snuggled under her duvet also..... Is anyone thinking of ditching the grobags at night time yet? I'm not sure if she'd stay under a duvet all night but it seems to work really well during the day?

americanexpat · 15/02/2012 15:46

reastie - I would expect him to do it for free too. I'm assuming it's just a few hours, right? Write it off as a good gesture towards a neighbour. Maybe it was the noise that Alice didn't like? L screams around hand dryer thingys in public toilets and when I'm steaming milk with the espresso machine (similar noise). He doesn't seem to mind the hoover though. Hmm

blizy - Grin It's ridiculous that I'm so excited about someone else's sex life. DH kept forgetting when I was ovulating so I set up a reminder in Google Calendar for him so he got an email every month. Grin Of course, he never got to use it because I got preg that month (after 11 months of trying).

debka - I had wondered who you were [eyes creepy man disguised as debka cautiously]. Will add you tonight as FB is blocked at work.

reastie · 15/02/2012 15:46

deb yes he does know the family history Shock he just shrugged and said he wasn't giving up his time for free to do it Blush . I'm trying to keep out of it but feel so Blush as I think he should have done it (or some of it) for free too. You see, maybe it's as we are country folk and he's a londoner Hmm

cass interesting what you say re: duvet. We are still using grobags (they stop her standing up so easily in her cot Wink ) but we have a cot duvet but I've been too scared to use it incase she moves in her sleep and gets too hot and airless underneath it [pfb]

ledkr · 15/02/2012 17:48

Well we have 2 new babies,Candy and Floss the hamsters.Ella is on cloud 9 and Dilly looks bereft. She has just eaten a massive bowl of Taglatelli-sp?with Lloyd Grossman sauce Grin she laughs in the face of Annabel Karmel.
She is currently eatin an ice cream cone with the obligatory bitten off pointed end.

deb Ill be back on the sw next week,i keep losing and regaining the same 7lbs,was going to run with Els this week but me boob has been so sore,im pretty useless in half term tbh made pancakes for brekkie and had hot cross buns for snacks.
I should think the vomitting was do do with the pooh consumption wasn't it deb? ugh.Hope she is ok now.
Dh watching footy tonight i may go to bed with my book i feel shattered from my 6am start.
Dsis seems to be in slow labour,i get texts every 3 mins with questions about poohing and pains and vaginal secretions Grin

ledkr · 15/02/2012 18:00

Aw x posted.
reastie id say free or very cheap yes.
mizk I cant wait to make Dillys cot all cosy with a nice duvet and proper bumpers, she does have agro bag or fleece suit but also blankets which she mostly keeps on.
american Listen to you with the posh coffee machine EnvyI dont fancy the book of face with my job HmmDils actually loves the hoover, she follows it about for the warm air.
Happy birthday babies.
blizy Wine heres to a sucessfull shag lol. We are all going to go mental when you concieve,it will be like having loads of bossy sisters. I presume you will tell us before everyone else, like your Mum and dh Grin

blizy · 15/02/2012 18:08

Ledkr- I may even tell you all before Dh!
Hope your sis is ok and has an easy rims of it. Oh and congrats on the new arrivals Grin

I know what time it is, Dh is taking me out for dinner to nandos. I will jump on him later.......

Reastie- yes I would do the job as a freebie/ goodwill gesture.

tadjennyp · 15/02/2012 18:18

Happy birthday Leo and Anna! Welcome baby hamsters! Sorry to dash but A is on her v short day at school and I ought to get on. Will post later!

wigglesrock · 15/02/2012 19:43

americanexpat Happy Birthday Leo Grin

Many thanks on As birthday wishes but I have been a very lax Mum - Wednesday is my Mums morning with A, so I took her there this morning, then spent the morning and most of the afternoon, wiping my sisters fevered brow and telling her she's not a crap Mum because she forgot to put a cardigan on the baby Grin [bless] I also managed to get my sister out of the house for an hour or so, she is feeling a bit more like herself Grin

ledkr Anna follows the hoover around too, trying to sit on the warm air Blush Welcome Candy & Floss!

blizy managed to avoid soft hell play, my sister needed me more Grin and funny enough Mr W wasn't over keen on taking the girls himself Shock. Fingers crossed for tonight (I know it sounds a bit creepy but you know what I mean Grin)

deliaskis A little bird told me you had a job offer Grin Well done Thanks

tadjennyp · 15/02/2012 20:51

I don't think she'll care, wiggs! I don't think soft play is one aspect I will miss when we grow out of this phase. Grin

Congratulations delia! Hope you get the one you want.

Sending lots of sleepy vibes.

WeAreBorg · 15/02/2012 21:29

OOh wonder how blizy is getting on Wink

Congratulations delia, well done! Really hope you get the one you really want, but it's always good to know you have something lined up.

Happy birthday Leo and Anna!!!

ledkr any more news from your sis?

reastie we had a rabbits called Sir Humphrey Brocklehurst and Lord Fotheringay Smythe Grin

Expat N used to be terrified of handdryers, blenders, hoovers etc. but seems to be okay how. I am still using it as an excuse not to hoover though.

44me you should write a wee book of Thomas and his wise sayings, he is hilarious Grin

mizk I have made Ns cot up with bumpers and duvet as it looks nice won't bloody sleep in it though

I made a banana cake for N today, twas a special baby cake (sorry wiggles and ledkr for being all pfb) with wholemeal flour and no sugar, he wolfed it down. I may have had a petit massive slice.

I took N to get his first ever shoes yesterday, he rampaged round Clarks flinging all the shoes about and generally being his usual happy slightly nuts self, but as soon as shoes went on his feet he went beserk. I have bought some cruisers as the lady thought a bendy/light shoe might be better but he screams when they go on. I managed to get him to walk a bit in them but he very dramatically acted as if they were the heaviest things ever then lay down on his front like a tantrum Confused. Just wondered if anyone else has had this reaction?

ILovePonyo · 15/02/2012 21:42

Hi again,

aww you lot have made me want to get A a nice snuggly duvet for her cot- we're using a longer grobag and it twists around a lot and and looks uncomfortable sometimes Confused

Borg yum banana cake, even without sugar. We've put A in little shoes every now and then, not proper Clarks ones, she doesn't have a shitfit tantrum like N yet, but looks confused and they seem to impair her walking and make her fall over Hmm Will you persevere with the shoes?!

wigs aww to your sis, sounds like the kind of thing I would have said. Hope A has had a lovely day :)

ledkr any news from your dsis? Grin at vag secretions

Oooh I'm going to share something v exciting on here (because I can), my dsis has stopped taking her pill so they are officially ttc Shock Grin Although she did mention that they would have to be dtd to get pregnant but oh well... Grin

reastie anything re: neighbour? I agree with the others as per usual Wink

We're watching a programme called Grimm on Watch channel, its ok am unsure about it at the mo. ledkr and blizy and borg (and anyone else) Walking Dead starts again on Fri - woop!

WeAreBorg · 15/02/2012 22:16

ponyo I still haven't watched the last series of the walking dead Blush. I have also missed the first episodes of true blood [gutted]. I need a TV weekend in PJs with ice-cream, crisps etc and no baby.
Not sure re shoes, might take them back if he carries on like this, they cost £24, that's more than my bleddy shoes! I'll have a barefoot baby and risk the wrath of old biddies everywhere

wigglesrock · 15/02/2012 22:22

borg Anna walked like Frankenstein for the first few times in her shoes Grin You did well, only paying £24 Shock. I think As were £32!

wigglesrock · 16/02/2012 07:35

Four4Me Happy Birthday Archie

Deliaskis Happy Birthday Claudia

xxxx

blizy · 16/02/2012 08:01

Thanks all for the cheering last nightBlush
Baby mindee is full of the cold today, I h e a feeling I will be glued to the couch with lots of snuggles.

Hope you all have a good daySmile

reastie · 16/02/2012 08:14

I'm sorry but Shock Shock to £32 shoes for Anna wiggles . We've just got Alice in cruisers at the min and I got those for £12 in the clarks sale - she's been in them for 2 1/2 months and had her fitted this week and still plenty of room to grow apparently Grin . I have learn my lesson though - all her next shoes will velcro shut not use those stupid pesky clasp thingys to do them up - drive me mad and Alice hates having them put on.

Happy birthday four4archie and deliaclaudia Grin

ponyo excellent news re: sis - although Hmm at the dtd comment. Which reminds me of blizy (nearly typed jane there Blush ) - glad you wern't on here last night [wink wink]

americanexpat · 16/02/2012 08:58

Happy birthday to Arsey Grin and Claudia!

£32! Shock I thought I was splashing out by paying £10 at Mothercare instead of Primark. Grin L is in size 4 - he was born with massively long fingers and toes and it hasn't changed.

ledkr - I hope it didn't sound as if I was stealth boasting about the espresso machine. Blush I'm rubbish at using it, if it makes you feel any better.

L is still in a grobag. When is it OK to give them pillows and duvets? Not that I think he'd use either.
