Morning ll,
Glad your special day turned out well Reastie!
Wiggles and Delia, I agree re Keira Knightley, it's the fake pout that I hate! Oh and she's pretty and skinny, bah!

Noah has the tummy bug AGAIN, he's had it on and off now for weeks! Was really sick after tea at nursery yesterday, then again this morning after his milk. Am hoping I can get him well again over Xmas then when he goes back to nursery in January am hoping the bugs will all be gone. I told dh this morning that I thought Noah was looking thinner but he said nonsense, I'm just used to seeing him with a big pot belly!

We're braving town later this morning, want to get some last minute bits, and hoping I can squeezed in at my hairdressers for a quick fringe trim, I can barely see out from under it t the moment!

Blizy, I wouldbe fuming if dh did that. Tho when I younger I used to make fried bread after a night out, my mum would go mad!

Have good days y'all

Deliaskis · 22/12/2011 10:08

Oh Ems sorry Noah is poorly again/still. It really does feel like it's just an endless cycle of getting ill, ill, getting better, well, for about 2 days, then getting ill again etc. etc. ad infinitum.

I suppose there's nothing we can do, just get through each one, and hope they get less and less frequent.

We've had 4 months of nursery now, and I think the first three months were worse than the last month [optimistic icon], so like you I hope a good spell of good health over Christmas will help.

D

ledkr · 22/12/2011 10:24

Hello all.
We have been ill with a flu cold virus.Have existed on beechams and Dilld on calpol.
wiggs how is Mr Wiggles? Dh went out last night but drove cos i told him any further vomiting episodes will result in a lonely xmas Grin
Is anyone finding the older dc's a handfull?
Ella seems ok in the morning but becomes a complete idiot by the afternoon, wont do anything we aske her to do and is rude and cheeky.I am sad cos i had no choice but to cancell our day out today ice skating and Santa cos i simply cant put up with her cheek.
Not sure about Kiera Knightly, shes so tiny i cant see her hardly, but Vic Bec has to be the most affected person in the world,i old dh that in my psychiatry days id have had her sectioned Grin

deb how is your Mum keeping?I keep meaning to ask.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 22/12/2011 11:03

ledkr poor you. Is Ella in full swing with her show now or is it all over? IME as a teacher kids know when you're not 100% and play on it as much as they can - I find it hard how the days when I work that I need to take it easy are the days when I have to work doubly as hard - maybe they're the same with their mums?

ems Sad that bug feels like it's been going on for ages. How it it go with no evening milk feed?

blizy your DH is BU. How Angry for you. I hope when you went into the kitchen this morning it wasn't a mess Angry . My DH made microchips at 3am the other morning Hmm but nothing to do with drunkeness I'm not feeding him enough apparently

I'm definitely coming down with something - sore throat is getting worse - please let it just be a 'normal' cold and not dhs bug Confused . Out for a walk in a min in the hope it's just being stuck inside all the time with a radiator drying me out Hmm

HV apt this afternoon to check up on how I'm doing Hmm

Emski76 · 22/12/2011 14:25

Hey all
All I've had some good news. At dh and mil's insistence I made a claim against my bank for mis sold insurance for a loan I took out in 2003, I've just had a letter to inform me that a nice little sum of money is winging its way to me! Nd it's already in my bank account! It will pay for us to go to EuoDisney next year and stay in the whatever hotel we want! I'm so happy, and feel rich!

Reastie, We didn't give Noah his bottle last night, I tried to put him to bed without anything but he literally screamed do I gave him a tub of my home made yogurt, it was quite sweet, he laid in my arms eating it straining to keep his eyes open. He hasn't had any milk since this morning and has been ok, so will be avoiding milk for today at least.
Good luck with hv, hope you tell her exactly how you've been feeling.

Ledkr, sorry you've all been poorly. It's miserable isn't it?

blizy · 22/12/2011 14:26

Oh no email, I hope Noah feels better soon.

Ledkr- hope you and dilly are feeling better too.

Well I may have been irrationally angry this
Morning! I woke up this morning went to the loo and Dh was fast asleep in his birthday suit on the floor I the upstairs hall! Suffice to say he is a tad tender today. Grin

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 14:34

Yuck I definitely have the lurgy, am all snotty (tmi) and feel a bit rough. Watching Honey I shrunk the kids whilst A is sleeping, also drinking tea and eating the chocolate biscuits our neighbour gave us for xmas (well apparently they are "for the baby" but I don't think A would like them Grin)

blizy Hmm to your dh, what on earth was he thinking - although I can imagine my dp doing that too, he does like to cook from scratch most of the time but uses every single pan in the process. I'd be well pissed off with him though if he came in drunk and started clanging around with pans Angry

delia awwww to C's massive hug, I love that, it doesn't happen often for me but it makes me appreciate it even more when it does!

emski poor N, hope he's better soon, good luck in town you are a brave lady Grin

ledkr hope you all feel better soon too, meant to say thanks for Asda nappies tip, they're great aren't they! Just as good as pampers and cheaper too. Sorry to hear about E, fair play to you for cancelling the santa trip, hope she sorts herself out soon :)

reastie hope the hv appt goes well? Seems we're all ill at the moment, hope you havn't got your dhs bug too :(

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 14:36

Ooh x post, emski what great news, and nice that you can spend it on a holiday for you all :) really pleased for you!

Blizy sorry but Grin at your dh asleep in the nip on the floor - heehee!

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 22/12/2011 21:14

Evening, quiet on here tonight (maybe you all have exciting night lives Wink )

Just watched that wedding show where the groom plans everything in a week - DH hates trashy TV anything involving over-exitable and/or moany women Confused so went to bed early Grin . It gets me every time when they get all happy and married at the end [soppy cow]

ponyo hope you feel better in time for christmas

blizy did you take a photo of DH to blackmail him with at a later date? Wink

ledkr there's a website here where you can get a video made for children from father christmas with what they want for christmas and whether they have been good all year or not. It's really good not that I did one for myself Blush and you can put pictures etc on it and it looks quite realistic - could be worth doing one for ella and saying she's been naughty to try and get her to be nice the next few days.

wiggles you never said what you got for your secret santa

Oh, just remembered why I was going to post - are you guys still doing cool boiled water in beakers at meals or water straight from the tap? I asked hv and she said just tap water is fine now but I'm a bit Confused and pfb about it. Just wondered what everyone else is doing...

Emski76 · 22/12/2011 21:19

Reastie, dh did the Santa video for Ben, he was talking back to Santa and his face was a picture! I had to hold back my tears!
I use tap water for Noahs drinks, have done for a while,I don't sterilise his beakers either.
How did you get on with hv regards how youve been feeling?

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 22/12/2011 21:22

ems we just chatted alot re: how I'll cope when I go back to work and my worries with that. I admit I held alot back as I just start crying thinking about it Blush . She's sending a referral for a mums group for people with depression/ishoos etc so may be able to do that every week once I'm back at work. I don't sterilise Alices beakers btw - I never have Blush - just put them through the dishwasher, just a little scared about not boiling water for some reason Confused

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 21:23

Tis quiet here, I am planning on an early night, going to my mums tomo for a few days, it'll really feel like xmas once I'm at my mums! Grin

reastie I give A tap water and have never sterilised her beakers Shock tbh if I want her to drink some water I give it to her from a proper glass cup as she just dribbles it out of her mouth from a beaker Hmm Still sterilise the bottles though. And yes, how did you get on with hv?

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 21:26

Oh sorry x post reastie. Do you feel ok about going to a group?

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 22/12/2011 21:32

Well, ponyo I can but give it a go and if it's not my bag I just won't go again. This is completely pfb but I'm a bit Confused as I have to leave Alice in a creche while I go - I've never left my baby in a creche before Shock Blush

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 21:38

Fair enough - def worth a go at least. Speaking as a mum with a pfb in nursery I'd say the creche will be good for you both - you can even try and spy on her and probably see her doing cute things, might make you a bit misty eyed!

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 22/12/2011 21:44

Grin ponyo . I think Alice would have a fab time probably and not even notice I'm not there. Although she is quite mummyish - poor dh as alice has started moaning when he holds etc her sometimes - then as soon as she comes to me she's happy again. He always looks so upset

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 21:46

Aw A does that with dp too, not very often but when she does he looks hurt, its sad but makes me feel a bit pleased that she wants her mum Shock Is it bad I just confessed that?!

Anyway good luck if you decide to go :)

debka · 22/12/2011 21:48

Hey everyone, I have been busy making gingerbread houses to decorate tomorrow, they look a bit wonky but the kids will LOVE it. Got our tree up as well (at last)- Imogen was a great help decorating one branch it. Grin

reastie are you taking the ad's yet? I bet you're not... I put S in creche on a Sunday when we go to church and she enjoys it now. She found it all a bit much when she first went in, and only managed 20 mins or so and would then fall straight to sleep in the car, but she is fine now. I want to avoid what happened with Ims, never put her in creche and now me, my mum or my sister have to go into Sunday School with her. Tres annoying.

S only has a beaker now. Goes in the dishwasher every night, I fill it with cows milk in the morning and keep topping it up through the day. It sometimes has a rinse under the tap if she's been eating something v messy with it. So, how many rules am I breaking there? Blush

blizy ha ha ha!!!

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 22/12/2011 21:53

deb I count 4 rules there Shock Wink

ponyo I'm the same - feel bad for dh but secretly nice to feel she wants me

debka · 22/12/2011 22:02

O golly, what are they?? 1- cow's milk, 2- not sterilised, 3- ummmmmm

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 22:07

erm.. topping it up Grin Wink

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 22:08

meant to put a '?!' too Wink

debka · 22/12/2011 22:10

4- rinsing with tap water. That'll be the 4 then!

Hope you're all still talking to me after that Irresponsible Mother confession.

Right, off to bed with me, I'm re-re-re-reading Heidi in bed, I'd forgotten how lovely it is :)

ILovePonyo · 22/12/2011 22:13

Haha well done deb, you got the 4th! Enjoy Heidi, I've never read it Blush Bed for me too soon xx
