blizy · 15/12/2011 21:29

I am now blizy - formerly known as jane

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 15/12/2011 21:47

I read your comment on that thread - very well put. Tbh I don't really see why it's necessary to do a fb like link. Maybe if everyone complained they would take it down Hmm

Alice has only just gone to sleep . I have so much respect for single parents. Don't know how they do it. I'm shattered from being the only one on Alice duty Confused

ponyo I was looking at the 'people you may know' bit on fb earlier and I spotted you are friends with someone whom one of my fb friends from school is also friends with - small world hey?! Wink

deb I thought dhs brother Ash would win Grin . My SW diet is not going well. I just haven't been able to cook anything while looking after Alice/DH etc. I've not eaten anything bad, but I know I've eaten too many points the past couple of days Confused .

blizy · 15/12/2011 21:56

Thanks reastie. I hope A is down for the night.

I have been eating so much crap since the wedding, I really need to start on a proper healthy eating regime and loose some weight. I just don't have the motivation at the minute and seem to be comfort eating.Blush

MizK · 15/12/2011 22:32

Wow, that facebook like thing is a s**tstorm and a half eh? Not sure how I feel about it but anything that makes it more likely that someone in RL will find what i've written on here is a bit uncomfortable. Plus as jane pointed out they have put it on sensitive topics - its a bit tacky and belittling to read a thread about someones troubles and then click Like.... weird.
wiggles ouch to the teeth, god you are brave. Terrible confession, the dentist told me I needed a root canal three years ago and I never went back.... You are a stronger woman than I and hope you suffer no more!
blizy its a bad time of year to try to cut out junk etc isnt it? Mince pies and all that. Maybe if you get Christmas out of the way and then begin a healthy eating regime? However deb and reastie are going great guns on SW so maybe join their gang :)
joes play was fab btw. My camera battery had died so couldnt take a pic but he looked especially fetching in his beard and moustache drawn on in eyebrow pencil!
PS did someone previously mention growling babies? Cass sounds like a Jack Russell half the time, growling and sort of barking, fruit loop! Right, night ladies, must go to bed!

ledkr · 16/12/2011 01:00

Well a night without kids and me and dh had a grest night out and are now having mind blowing sex and eating pizza and looking forward to a lie in.
Oh no hang on that was just a dream,i am really in bed on my own mumsnetting after putting a puking dh on the sofa with a bucket and coming to bed alone Hmm Why do they have to get soooo drunk? I just couldnt bear my dilly free night being disturbed by him up and down to the loo Grin
We had afab night at his xmas party,i found someone to smoke with so i was happy. Ella had her first night and it seems to have gone well.My mate text me to say she was amazing i cant wait to see it.
ponyo did you see tie? I havent seen tonights so staying off the thread.I am in awe of shane meadows,i broke my heart watching lol break down to the nurse,it makes me want to get back to work and do some good iyswim?
I ent on fb and dont fecking want to be either btw.

ledkr · 16/12/2011 09:18

Grrrrrrrrrr. Hes stil in bed where he came to at 3am.I cam down to find sick all over the floor and sofa im bloody fuming.Called him loads but he just answers then go back to sleep.Meant to be at work too Hmm Why is it i can get bladdered but always make the toilet to puke???

blizy · 16/12/2011 09:52

Ledkr- Angry on your behalf! My Dh was the same last week after his night out. He managed to spew on the curtainsHmm.
Hope work goes ok.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 16/12/2011 10:33

Angry to ledkrs dh. I would be fuming at blizys too. You're making me feel glad my dh doesn't drink even if he is a grumpy old man

Feeling like I may be coming down with dhs bug today Sad so hope Alice stays clear of it.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 16/12/2011 11:41

Right, I think I've found a secret to getting Alice to nap better in the day - using her buggy, stationary in the house Hmm . Last few days I've got her in her buggy to go for a walk or go out or whatever and she's fallen asleep before I get myself ready and out the door, so I've just left her in her buggy in the house so I can get on with things. Each time she's slept over an hour Shock which is unheard of for daytime naps. Usually in her cot I'm lucky if she does half that, and that's after ages of screaming in her cot. Have no idea why the buggy seems to work so well but hope it continues - I've just had a hot cup of tea - that's right, it was still hot Wink

debka · 16/12/2011 13:50

reastie that sounds brilliant if it works for you!! Alice sounds v high maintenance, you said you can't cook whilst looking after her. I put S on the work surface if whilst I'm cooking if she's not happy crawling around, and hand her toys or raisins or cheerios. Works a treat.

ledkr that is horrible, inconsiderate man. I would be fuming if my DH pulled a stunt like that. Yuk.

blizy going to take some getting used to the new name! Please don't leave, we'd miss you :)

Went to soft play this morning which wore them both out, they're both asleep now Grin

Deliaskis · 16/12/2011 15:29

Hi ladies,

All fine here, DH and I had Wed & Thurs off work so it's been a relaxing and quite festive week. C is full of a cold again, lots of coughing too, but she's in good spirits otherwise. She wakes a lot in the night coughing at the moment, but seems to flap around looking for her dummy for a minute, finds it, then goes back off to sleep, so hopefully she's not feeling too bad.

Deb Whoop whoop on fantastic weight loss, well done you.

reastie and ems yes I used to be Brown Owl no less. They keep hounding me to go back but I can't face it at the moment, just don't know how I'd fit it all in with working FT and Claudiating the rest of the time. I'll maybe go back when she's a bit bigger.

Also hoorah reastie for Alice sleeping in buggy.

Ledkr Angry on your behalf re pissed up DH, I would be fuming too. DH got pissed the other week and was late home to the babysitters (SIL & OH) who needed to be up early the next day (I was meant to be out all night, he was meant to be back at 9), so now I feel like I can't ask them again grrrr.

Hope you're all having a good day - things are fine with us, just that mad pre-Christmas rush going on, but otherwise good. My Mum had C on Tuesday (as usual) and said she had just been a delight, and she texted me Wed to say she couldn't stop thinking about how lovely she was, and she went to sleep thinking about her and woke up the same. Grandma is a big softy methinks!

C still only crawling backward, but now cruises a bit along furniture and with walker etc. We'll get there, one way (backwards?) or another!

Dx

americanexpat · 16/12/2011 16:58

Trying to catch up on the thread after our holiday. I see you're all Facebook friends now. Envy

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 16/12/2011 17:11

american don't worry - wiggles and ledkr arn't don't get them started on this newfangled social networking systems the yoof use Wink

delia good to hear from you. Are you planning your christmas eve munchies this year? If you haven't moved does that mean it can be the usual free for all as opposed to official invites?

I'm currently trying to pester gently persuade deb to do this . You have to admit - she would be great on it wouldn't she Grin . deb that cake decorated with butterflies was utterly fab - you are v talented Envy

blizy · 16/12/2011 17:33

deb go on you know you want to! Grin

I fear I may have over reacted a bit about the fb button, I will be sticking around to annoy you all for a while longer!

ILovePonyo · 16/12/2011 19:29

deb and reastie I think you should both enter - you'd both be fab!

Grin at reastie and her description of fb.

A is in bed and crying, I am kind of trying to leave her to settle herself but its hard :( She goes quiet and then does a squeal so I'm not sure if its her teeth. Might give her some bonjela and calpol in a bit if she carries on...

ledkr I am watching the last TIE tonight so am staying well away from the thread, I read too many walking dead spoilers on the mn thread and won't make the same mistake! Have a feeling it won't be a happy ending though. Oh and wtf with your dh, thats rank about the vom everywhere, why can't men make it to the bloody toilet to sick up?! Gross and how dare he leave it, ugh Angry

Oh god she's still crying, have just spied on her on the monitor and she has just rolled ontot her front so that might help... or maybe not.

blizy I like your new name (where has it come from?!) and don't think you overreacted about fb button.

I'm going to her now, she's still crying...

ILovePonyo · 16/12/2011 19:32

Hm as soon as I got upstairs she stopped and might be asleep, fingers crossed. Hi american!

ILovePonyo · 16/12/2011 20:01

hubbard there are iggle piggle toys half price in Argos at the moment, £15 reduced from £30. I feel all pleased with myself as there was only one left in all the stores near us and I have reserved it, woop!

blizy · 16/12/2011 20:15

Ponyo- I hope is fast asleep. My name is a play of mine, Dh and dd names. Grin for the iggle piggle, now I have the bloody song in my head!

What you all doing at the weekend? I have crimbo night out with Dh and all of our friends. Not sure if I will drink, I might drive so I can leave if I get upset.

Hope you all have a good one. Grin

ILovePonyo · 16/12/2011 21:59

Ah thats nice about your new name jane Blizy :) A has made a few little noises but settled, phew. This weekend I am buying an iggle piggle toy Grin and going for suday dinner at my friends, should be nice. Enjoy your crimbo night out but don't blame you for wanting to drive, I think you know yourself if you're up to drinking or not incase you get upset so do whatever you think is right.

ledkr just watched TIE, good god it was full on. Amazing though.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 17/12/2011 11:28

Morning,

Alice sleeping in her buggy Grin . Who knows, she may repeat yesterdays over 2 hr nap Grin

Blizy Love the reasoning behind new nn, but you know now when you have your LO you will have to pick a name beginning with 'Y' to fit in with the name Wink

ponyo No way am I entering BBO and look like a fool to my cooking god mary berry . I know I wouldn't stand a chance to win and would look a fool to my students when I dropped a cake on the floor/had swiss roll rolling up issues etc and I have work commitments

ledkr how is DH today? I hope he pays for what he did with lots of nasty chores for the next year at least

I can feel that throat tingling/nose itching feeling - so hope I don't catch DHs bug. Can you believe DH had the nerve to say to me last night he might be ill more often Angry . I think he quite likes sitting in bed all day playing computer games, having hot tea and copious amounts of food bought up to him and no commitments to have to do anything Angry. He is still ill but not as bad as before so at least it doesn't look like proper flu. I've banished him to stay in the spare bedroom though all week end in the hope Alice and I avoid getting it Hmm . So still feeling the stress of doing everything on my own Confused

wigglesrock · 17/12/2011 20:59

Evening all,

reastie my pils put A to sleep for naps in her buggy, they did exactly the same with S when they used to mind her, it works a treat for them. I can never really get the hang of it. But my Dad got A to sleep in her buggy this morning and she slept for about 90 mins Grin.

I have a rule in my house, if you're well enough to eat, you are well enough to get off your arse and do your bit. Hope you and Alice stay bug free.

blizy love the new name, was your night out last night?

To those with pukey/drunk OHs you have my sympathy - work has been full of eejits the past few nights intent on drinking their own body weight Grin

Oh I was full of good intentions about not mentioning Mr Ws work again but Grin he's been offered a three month secondment to go and play with the big boys, which is good for him, well done yada yada yada but more importantly he will be off a lot more weekends and his hours will be a lot more office based which will make me doing Sundays in work a lot easier .. yay Grin Talk about from my lips to Gods ears!

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 17/12/2011 21:27

wiggs that's great news re: Mr W's - he was going for a promotion recently and studying wasn't he? It's all paying off then Grin . Funny how things can work out like that sometimes isn't it Hmm Wink . Will be nice for you to have him round at more usual times too Grin . Btw DH isn't milking his illness being in bed all day - I actually have banished him there for the week end in the hope he doesn't spread his germs, so it's all my own making Hmm . Have just delivered him another cup of tea and apple turnover think he's milking the waitress service

V quiet on here - does everyone else actually have a life? Shock Wink

blizy · 18/12/2011 00:12

Well done to. Mr wiggles!

Night out tonight, didn't end too well. The tears started as soon as the Xmas songs came on. Girls I'm really struggling, I can't cope with Christmas. It should be our first Xmas as a proper family Instead it's not. How the hell am I supposed to get through the next 2 months?

MizK · 18/12/2011 01:25

blizy I just got in so hope I don't just offer drunken advice.however. Losing your baby girl must have been unthinkable its literally all of our worst nightmare. You are still here, not only that you got married, you raised money and awareness in her honour, you had to deal with some insensitive nonsense from your Fil, and you manage to not get mad at us when we moan about our babies although it must hurt to hear. In short you have been fantastic. You will get through the next two months because you got through so much already. You are strong and you will be okay.things will be easier soon I promise you. Don't feel guilty about being sad, you love your dd and I hope everyone around you understands and takes care of you xxx sorry if I haven't said the right thing x

ILovePonyo · 18/12/2011 07:52

Oh blizy I am so sorry, MizK put it all so well and I agree with what she said. I still think your plan to not really 'do' xmas is the best idea - sod anyone else who moans at you about it and post here as much as you can if it helps. You have been through one of the worst possible things to happen to someone and the fact that you are still going just shows how strong you are, sending you hugs xxxxx
