chocoroo · 19/12/2011 20:12

Hello!

Sorry I've been slack. Had a rough wkend with R and her teeth (terrible temperature) and mad busy at work.

deb We're never at home for Christmas so my rubbish guess is £200. I spend about £100 normally Blush

delia I'd get C booked into the Dr's if I were you. Better safe than sorry. And yep, we're all FB buddies and love each other vair much Grin

emski You've given me hope or our Christmas do this week. We're having a big whole office one which is unusual (I think they wanted to do it after all the changes recently) so it feels a bit impersonal. I'm hoping to just get merry but am dreading a big old hangover!

four4 I too will friend you on FB to see your drunk pics Grin No peaking at mine though!

reastie I sooooooo want to join cooking club! Am v impressed with A's standing btw.

blizy Lots of hugs to you. I've been thinking how hard it must be for you (and a few other friends who have had losses this year). It would be lovely to create a tradition for Zoe. A bauble is a great idea, or maybe a lovely snowstorm.

granny Nothing but lurgy here since R started nursery. Nothing but

wiggles I was Mary in playgroup nativity. I have been a drama queen ever since. Watch out!

ledkr I so want to go on a night out with you!

Right can catch up no more but I did note that resident drunk MizK was back so and surmised that Mini Ponyo is sick so hugs there too.

Big news here is our Mumsnet car was delivered today. It's a huge Ford Mondeo. The boot is the size of our kitchen. DP keeps repeating "you're not having one". Need to figure out how to fit car seat when it's light in morning. They also sent biscuits for us and a toy for R. Yay!

ILovePonyo · 19/12/2011 20:50

Hi! I have just had yummy jerk chicken, mutton and rice and peas (said in jamaican accent) for tea, dp's work colleague cooked it and he brought some home for me, yum!

Poor A is poorly, took her to docs today and she had a temperature and was prescribed some antibiotics for her cough :( I had the afternoon off work with her at home, hopefully she'll be better in the morning although last night was a mare, she kept waking and crying every 10 mins (it felt like it anyway Grin).

deb hmm I am going to guess... £250?! Am a bit clueless though (and copying choco Grin) Aww at Imy! Let us know what time she wakes up Wink

choco hello! Poor R and her teeth, who would have thought they could cause such problems?! Am very jel of the car, although I imagine if we got something like that to test dp would get a fag burn on the seat or something Hmm Very sweet about the biccies and the toy too!

delia I like your mahoosive posts too :) I would take C to the docs for your peace of mind, when we went today A was coughing and the doctor said the cough sounded bad, then when she actually listened to her chest she said it wasn't as bad as it sounded if that makes sense? But I'd still go anyway.

reastie I couldn't figure out how to put photos up on my iphone so will try and do it in a bit... I would love to go to a baking group by the way, its a great idea! I could learn some baking tips and eat a lovely cake at the end - result!

granny hope poor N is better soon. Poor poorly babies, I know germs are good for building the immune system etc etc but it sucks doesn't it!

wiggles my hair is quite dark goth but shiny and smells nice Grin Love the thought of O as a Katy Perry style Mary :)

Better go and make some bottles, hi everyone else :)

wigglesrock · 19/12/2011 20:58

chocoroo yay for the car, you'll never be able to look at a smaller car again in the same light Grin We have an old Renault Scenic and I absolutely love it, the boot is bigger than our first flat!

deliaskis A has had an off/on cough for a bit now - no other symptoms, so I'm putting it down to teething again! God if the poor childs arm was hanging off, I'd probably put it down to teething - I'm a bit lax Blush

Both mil and my mum are coming to the concert tomorrow Grin, I like it when pils come to the girls stuff, they do a lot of minding when I'm at work and its nice for them to show off a bit and tell their friends how nice I am - see I made it all about me Grin

Not sure if this is the done thing but I was nominated for a Secret Santa pressie this year and I am making an assumption that maybe someone on this thread nominated me Blush. If so a really big thank you, I cried when I read the initial e-mail Blush. I name changed on the thank you thread so can't figure out how to thank the nominator. Anyway if it was no-one on the thread - why the feck not? Grin and if it was, seriously thank you.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 19/12/2011 21:15

Just a quickie to place my bet on debs food bill (does the winner get a cash prize please ? Grin ). Well, I can spend over £100 easily on a regular weeks shopping Blush . I was going to go for £250 but since ponyos gone for that I'll say £276.57 Wink

wiggles what did you get? [nosey] and Envy

Will now catch up proper stylee

blizy · 19/12/2011 21:33

I bet £301.66

Chocco- poor r with her teeth. Hope you enjoy your party.

Ponyo- dinner sounds yum! Hope anya feels better soon.

Ahhh wiggles, what did you get< nosey>. I oy heard about the ss at the weekend when I was moseying on the thread. You really do deserve it though, wonderful woman that you are!

I had a busy old day with baby mindee, having a cosy night on the couch with Dh watching criminal minds.

Hope you are all well.Smile

Four4me · 19/12/2011 21:51

Yeah well done you wiggles

deb Archie had a gooy eye a couple of weeks ago, the gp gave us some eye drops. It soon settled, I wiped it regularly with cooled boiled water and cotton wool in between the drops. Hope it is gone soon. Thank for the compliments on fb photos (except the drunken ones!!!) I'm off to nosy at all my new friends pages!!!!!!!

I'm going with £293.50 for the shopping, I always cringe when I'm clicking on 'check out' on tescos for the final total!!!!!

Thomas won the best dancer at the key stage two Christmas party at school today -- yeah (def gets his dance floor moves from me!!!!!)

debka · 20/12/2011 06:30

Hmmmm. Perhaps I was quite frugal after all! It was £170 which I thought was massive- evidently not that massive! Still got to get veg and bread at the farmers market though. Feel a bit Blush now!!

choc car sounds amazing!! You won't want to give it back!

ponyo has lovely hair, I was well jel at our meet up Grin

wiggles yes you deserve it, have you received it yet? I am the same with kids illnesses, never take them v seriously, my sister once broke her arm and I sent her to bed in tears, next morning my mum took her to a&e Blush.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 20/12/2011 09:22

Morning, just wondering if anyone from here has just fb friend requested me or if it's some person I don't know as don't want to accept if I don't know them Blush

choc Envy Envy Envy

deb that wasn't so bad with your shop. I've got £120 in my ocado christmas basket (and haven't finished yet Blush ) plus I need to brave sainsburys this morning to get some bits ocado don't sell and will prob end out spending at least £20/30 while there. I feel really over zealous in my shopping now Blush

wiggles maybe we should run a sweep stake on who nominated you Wink Wink . You definitely deserve it with your super brain computer you've been so supportive to everyone here

oh nutters, gtg - Alice trying to eat a CD Confused

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 20/12/2011 09:24

OK, I just think I worked out who it is on fb - it's delia I think Grin Grin [miss marple emoticon]

MizK · 20/12/2011 10:04

ponyo Poor A, gosh all the babies are taking it in turns to be ill I think, horrid. I wish someone would cook rice and peas for me, loooove it and jerk chicken too!
wiggles wow thats so sweet and well deserved indeed!
choc ha at resident drunk, I'm def going to peruse your fb photos carefully to confirm my suspicions that it takes one to know one :) Poor R's teeth, it wreaks havoc with their whole body, Cass's tush gets so sore she screams when she gets her nappy changed.
four4 best dancer eh? V impressive!
End of school term today, picking DD up at 12 30 then carols at Joes school at 145. I'm actually really pleased, Christmas hols are usually v lovely, everyones around so no chance for DC to get bored and evil!
I think after Christmas period I shall haul myself off to a slimming club of some sort, I have been troughing no end, and am trying not to have some of Joe's leftover party food, not hopeful that I can....
Hello to everyone, hope all having nice mornings so far!

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 20/12/2011 10:10

delia I just rememebred I fogot to answer your christmas cake question Blush . I think it should be fine - how much to do feed it with at a time? I know I've fed mine a couple of times a week in the past no probs. The only thing I can think re: a problem is once my mum won a home made christmas cake in a raffle and when she cut it the whole cake inside collapsed into a big liquidish pile flat pile Shock . Never seen anything like it before and we came to the conclusion it was because the cake maker must've put too much alcohol in too quickly and then iced it straight after thinking it would be OK. So That's my only word of warning. I've been slack this year and only made mine at the beginning of december and only fed it 3 times Blush . Normally my cakes are super boozy - the amount of brandy that goes in it I always wonder how much you'd have to eat before you got drunk Wink

Deliaskis · 20/12/2011 10:16

Yes reastie tis I on FB, well done Miss Marple.

I have managed to find Deb Four4Me MizK & Hubbard . Am a bit unsure of who else is who, so either let me know vaguely or cryptically who you are, or come and find me, I'm the new friend of reastie with the ridiculous name, initials JFW, and my pic is me and DH in an apres ski bar.

OK, this whole post sounds a bit desparate now, not sure what to say to make you all think I'm not v needy.

reastie (this isn't it BTW), fingers crossed our cake won't be a huge pile of mush then, we have prob fed a bit much a bit quick, so might leave it now until Sunday when we will cut it. We prob feed about 1 cap (of the brandy bottle) each time, and have done it about every 3 days.

blizy · 20/12/2011 10:32

delia I just sent you a friend request.

I'm sat here waiting in baby mindee to wake up so we can go to soft play, he fel asleep in pram on schoolr run and still snoring away! I am so bored! Wake up baby! Grin

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 20/12/2011 10:51

Hi blizy alice sleeping in her buggy too (it's my new trick Wink ). I've got really bad ovulation pain Sad . Was trying to do some cleaning but have had to collapse on the sofa with some nurofen. Hope it improves soon as planning on going to sainsburys this morning. Stupid coil giving me such a bad pain Angry . Which reminds me, deb did you get your implant sorted?

Deliaskis · 20/12/2011 10:57

Well my Mum just took Claudia to Drs re cough etc. as it was sounding a bit rattley. Anyway, she's been prodded poked, had her chest listened to, her ears checked etc. and Dr said she's fune, it will be just a virus. So that's good news Xmas Smile.

Deliaskis · 20/12/2011 10:59

Grin blizy & reastie re sleeping babies, Mum just pushed C to Drs, and she fell asleep in buggy, and Mum lifted her out, she didn't wake up, and slept for another 20 minutes being cuddled by Grandma in the waiting room!

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 20/12/2011 11:07

Grin delia . Sleeping in her pram has been an amazing discovery - she's still sleeping now - thats nearly an hour Grin . Shame I can't get on with the chores, but nurofen is starting to kick in

Four4me · 20/12/2011 11:29

Arr have just got back from the school carol service and Joseph was an angel!!!! Bless he takes it all very seriously.

Delia I sussed out who you are!!!! Omg I'm loving looking at all of everyones photos esp Jane's wedding ones. But think I may need a note of who is which mn name a bit thick baby brain finding it tricky.

wiggles hope Mary is a super star. X

debka · 20/12/2011 13:22

delia you made me Grin with your ridiculous name comment, when I realised it was you I must admit I thought, 'that's a bit of a mouthful!' I've not taken S to the dr, think she's just coming down with another cold, sigh. Snot everywhere again.

reastie ov pain sounds grim :( Implant seems to have settled down, fingers crossed, I cancelled my appointment tomorrow. I think it's in a bit too shallow but I can put up with that. Still spotting after my period 2 weeks ago though. Angry

44me I agree, have to think Sarah hmm o yes that's mizk etc!

mizk come to SW with me, you get to eat masses Grin

Right best put the baby to bed.

blizy · 20/12/2011 13:31

I too am loving looking at your pics on fb, what beautiful children you all have!

Mindee is asleep again, oh what I would give to be a baby! Been to soft play with him then to the shops for supplies for our little Xmas party with my after school mob. Their parents are going to love me (not), they will be stuffed with yummy cakes and biscuits!

4forme- glad the nativity went well, bless j the angel and t superstar dancer.

Wiggles- hope O has a fab time as Mary! How many tissues did you get through?

2 hours of work for me tomorrow then I'm finished work until 5th jan, can't wait!Grin

Deliaskis · 20/12/2011 13:46

Deb to most people, I'm just Jo!

blizy awww at your Christmas party with mindees! C had her nursery Christmas party yesterday and wore her Christmas dress with reindeer on, and came home with a present from Santa (chocolate Shock for reastie who will understand!), on whose knee she apparently sat (hope they were CRBd!) and giggled and wiped her nose in his beard...classy girl.

She was a bit tired and whingey this morning due to early waking from coughing and snot etc. and the only thing that seemed to entertain her was my extremely impressive made up lyrics to 'Oh Christmas Tree', but it was 'Oh Christmas dress', with accompanying actions pointing to different things on the dress. One of those moments when I thought, what AM I doing?

Dx

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 20/12/2011 15:19

Re: fb, I think it would be much easier if you could all please change your fb middle names to your mn name please - would make it alot easier Grin , I've got hubs name sussed though, and it's easy to work out deb as she's the weird man Wink Grin . Seriously I think I would easily ace a test of who's who Grin [teachers pet]

deb re: implant. This may be completely different but when I had my coil for the first few weeks I could feel it in there. I thought it was in wrong as they kept saying I shouldn't know it's there. ANyway, went to GP who was Shock when I said I could feel it but checked and said it was fine. I posted on mn and a few people said they could feel theirs initially and that it was normal. I still can feel it sometimes in the same sort of way that you're aware your ears are there but you can't actually feel they're there (without touching them) IYKWIM.

Ohh, just thought I'd mention I just got back from sainsburys and they have loads of baby/child clothes (and adult clothes) in the sale. I got a nice vest/dungarees set for Alice reduced to £3.50 Grin

blizy nearly holiday time for you Grin

delia I have 'what am I doing' moments all the time Blush . Yesterday it was when I was crawling around the house making screeching noises to make alice giggle Blush

Deliaskis · 20/12/2011 15:44

Oooh reastie you reminded me I was going to ask (this not very important question)...

Does anyone find themselves in a constant state of dilemma about what size clothes to buy? C is still quite little and at 10 mo is only just getting into 9-12 months ones, but I am constantly looking at them thinking they're too big, then buy 6-9 mo ones and they're too small or are after like a week or something.

12-18 mo look mahooosive at the moment, but maybe by Feb they won't be. Maybe it will be easier now as from here upwards they are probably not going to grow out of things in a matter of weeks.

I've even got some lovely clothes that have passed her by completely as they were in the 'too big' bag, and were too big, too big, too big, and then whooops suddenly too small (and I do mean genuinely nice stuff, not stuff I was trying to avoid dressing in her in ever - that's a different bag!).

Wow, that is a dull post. Sorry. Can you all tell I'm bored at work in the last week before Christmas.

D

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 20/12/2011 15:56

delia we have the same issues. Alice is still wearing a few 3-6 jumpers/cardis/dungarees. The 9-12 babygros are too big for her still as she's a shortie I think. The way I do it (not sure if this is the best way) is to get everything in advance (liek I'm now all sorted for 12-18 already and nearly done for 18-24 Blush ) and put things in bags of size, when it's a month or two before the next size up (like prob in new year for 12-18) I get all the new size out and put it in her chest of drawers but behind all her current stuff. If something looks like it comes up a bit small I'll put it at the front to use already. Some size things are mad and she's already too big for 12 months stuff Confused . If I find we are lacking in anything once she's in that size I just pop out and get it (but we more have way to much than too little). Having said that, there have been a few things I've missed out on her wearing because of disorganisation/odd sizing. It's also good getting stuff in advance as you can get it all in the sale in advance (like at the end of winter sale you can get stuff for next winter). I've even already bought a few bits in age 2-3 all ready Blush . Her christmas outfit I bought in 6-9 as 9-12 was way too big for her Hmm

Deliaskis · 20/12/2011 16:43

Ha ha reastie I do that re filing system in drawers, except like her mother, Claudia always ends up wearing the same 3 things, the ones that are on top at the front, and then suddenly she's grown out of everything (her Mum sometimes still 'grows' out of things too Blush).
