Morning all!
Thanks for the porridge tip ladies! Am desperate to lose at least half a stone before i go back to work at the end of October. Will be eating porridge and fruit for lunch from now on and no more chocolate treats!

Deb, sorry for your early morning, hope you got back to bed for a while.

Tad, what rubbish hours for a school (half) day! What a pain for you!

Dh is back tonight, yippee! And he has the week off work next week! Double yippee! Were taking Ben to Wookey Hole on Monday, am secretly very excited!

Ladies who live close to me, would be happy to meet in Cheltenham if that's a good middle ground for us all. Maybe we could meet at Chez Ledkr, or do you know of anywhere child friendly but cool??!

Have a good day y'all

janedoe25 · 09/09/2011 09:25

reastie I'm sure Alice will be fine. Still to get the buggy, LO doesn't start until next month though. We will lose this weight together!

emski yay for DH! What is a wookey hole?

got to go mindee has just arrived, have a good day all.Grin

debka · 09/09/2011 09:56

reastie we live in a small bungalow so no downstairs. I suppose I could put her in the loft

We both went back to sleep till 7. She is in bed again now mardy cowbag

reastie totally understand your logic! A will be fine, is it CBT you're going to?

emski glad to hear you've got DH back :)

OP posts:
ILovePonyo · 09/09/2011 10:04

Morning, emski I would also like to know what a wookey hole is?! Sounds fab that your dh is off next week, have a great time :)

reastie good luck for today, sure A will be fine. Can understand you being a bit nervous though.

deb feel for you being up at stupid o clock, just a few nights of it can really take its toll.

dd was another awake baby at 1am til 2ish, I'm lucky because I can leave her and just go and put the dummy in a few times, but I'm awake as I'm always waiting for the wailing to start. What is going on?! Do the babies have their own thread too where they swap waking up tips?!

Just a quick one from me, have to go and do general 'stuff' before baby singing this afternoon, not been for at least a month so hopefully A will enjoy it.

Emski76 · 09/09/2011 10:16

For those of you who don't know what Wookey Hole is, it's nothing rude, not that you were thinking that!
It's Cheddar Caves and a fun park for kids. It's only 40 mins away. Apparently it's 'the largest indoor play place in the South West'. So won't matter if it's raining! Woohoo! And they have a big dinosaur section which Ben will love!
Off to Bounce, yep another indoor play place, with a friend and her little boy in a while. Always good cos the kids go off to play and the adults actually get to hold a conversation and finish a hot drink!

debka · 09/09/2011 10:18

I know what Wookey Hole is cos Aunt Mabel went there. And Pippin of course.

OP posts:
ledkr · 09/09/2011 11:43

tsk fancy not knowing what wookey hole is
Right ill post later but Dilly is ill with heavy cold,i had a fab she slept snottily and restlessly till 6am hoorah.
Went back off on me at 8.30 and is still asleep wrapped in my dressing gown bless her,she must be poorly.
Yep you can come here if you like or ill think of somewhere playbarnish.with good coffee.

byronicheroine · 09/09/2011 12:30

Ha ha about 'a Wookey hole' I love that place. A while ago they were advertising for a job as the new 'witch' so I sent it to my sister !
There's a new playgroup/mums meeting thing starting here next week but sod's bloody law it's on the same day as the foreign mums thing I go to already - so our diary is chocabloc for one day and then empty.... boo.
All welcome for a meetup here, feta and ouzo all round, then? ;)

reastie · 09/09/2011 13:10

Well I'd never heard of Wookey Hole Hmm - sounded like some obscene joke to do with Russell Brand to me Confused

byron boo to the only 2 exciting things being at the same time. An old colleague of mine now lives in Florida and has a DS 6mo. She tells me she keeps going to mother and baby groups there to try and meet other mums and she's always the only person to turn up Shock as it's all oldies living there so not many babies about.

deb maybe a cot at the end of the garden then Wink. yes it was cbt btw - only have max 2 sessions left and tbh haven't helped as much as I had hoped.

In my hurry to get home to Alice with MIL I actually got stopped by the police for speeding Blush Blush Blush . I was doing 37 in a 30 apparently. the policeman said if it would have been 1mph higher he would have given me points and fine Shock . Anyway Alice fine when I got back but going mental now - no idea what is wrong but it's whinge whinge whinge. I've had to give her calpol which I barely ever do Hmm . MIL made some comment about exhausting her with playing games so maybe it's all too much for her [pfb]

byronicheroine · 09/09/2011 13:15

oops reastie so easy to do! I've always said that if I get stopped I'd give K a swift pinch and let the policeman deal with that!

We must have some teeth coming soooooon - whinge attack!

meant to say wiggles I love when kids have that gappy toothy look :) I think I have a while to wait though

ILovePonyo · 09/09/2011 15:36

reastie can't believe you got stopped speeding - lucky escape! I caved in and gave dd some calpol the other day too, she was just whingy and nothing helped but the calpol made her sleep Grin

byronic shame about the group, theres only really one here that I go to, all the others are rubbish or for polish/'forrin' mums - oh the irony!

Baby singing was ok today, dd used to fall asleep half way through today she just got whingy and cried Hmm Glad we went though.

Also, got my email from work apparently 22.5 hours is fine and they'll be in touch soon eek Shock

ledkr · 09/09/2011 15:56

I have just had my 2nd speeding ticket grrrr,i did speed school when pg but have to have points now Shock

Dilly is whingy too but also sleepy so thats good.

When working,i once got pulled over for no lights,i had a drunk vomiting child/client in the back, they gave mea blue light to a and e Grin

reastie · 09/09/2011 16:18

ledkr I've had points and fine once before for doing 35 [speeding hell raiser] but this year they finally got taken away. Grin to your police escort blue light to A&E.

Alice now sleeping, phew. She was a nutter at lunch but luckily calmed down to visit my Granny. I'm blaming either teething or mil for over exciting her (or both).

ANyone got anything nice at the week end? We are visiting DHs nan (along with PIL at same time) tomorrow [rock'n'roll] Wink

Btw anyone done monkey music class? I'm debating going to it and just wondered if anyone has any good/experiences with it.

janedoe25 · 09/09/2011 18:18

Naughty reastie, cant believe you got caught speeding! Shock

Nothing planned this weekend, DF is workin Sad Oh but we are meeting our photographer on sunday.

wigglesrock · 09/09/2011 18:54

Evening, had lovely day, we skived off to the pictures this afternoon - we are the last people alive to see Harry Potter Grin, had a lovely cup of coffee, then picked girls up and all in pjs and ready for bed. Mr W is nipping out to pick a takeaway later [yum yum].

Tut tut tut to all the law flaunters - I live in fear of getting stopped on my mums road Grin. Keep asking Mr W if he can't give me a secret password or "wife of police" card to flash, but he's not having any of it Shock His one piece of advice, apologise early and quickly and sometimes you can avoid the ticket but usually not - its quotas you know Grin

byronicheroine when we were very young, my parents lived in Africa and we would have travelled a bit, they used to nip us at customs all the time and we always got bumped up the queue!!

Taking the girls to the beach tomorrow and then have the start of the birthday party season. Off to very popular soft play area at lunchtime on a Sunday - that'll be fun Shock

chocoroo · 09/09/2011 18:55

Ooohhh reastie you speed demon!

Jane Enjoy the photographer meeting...I'd find that dead interesting but then I am mildly obsessed always interested in weddings!

ledkr Why am I not surprised at your speeding tickets? TBH I deserve one, I used to drive way too fast on the motorway especially but am a bit more careful now with R in the car. I still do more or less 10mph over the limit most of the time though! V naughty!

byronic How frustrating re: group, I get so annoyed when I have loads on one day and nothing the next. Or like this week has been quite busy but next week is much quieter. Rubbish.

Emski Does Noah like the soft play places? I always think R is too young but she crawls so might like an explore I suppose?

ponyo Yep, I'm the same as you - R is easily soothed in the night with a dummy but I end up wide awake for ages. DP got up with her last night but I was still wide awake the whole night.

Well, I'm sat waiting for DP to get home from work (late again!) then I'm going to try and go for a run before it gets dark. Off to swimming lessons again in the morning - there's been a break of about a month and this will be the first one DP has been too. I had to buy him some swimming shorts and resisted the urge to buy him Speedo's! I did also buy myself a new coat while I was out....

Off to a friends for a sleepover tomorrow too. R will run rings round her 10 month old. She's crawling and he's not....

Happy weekend all

reastie · 09/09/2011 18:59

ladies if any of you can help me with this I'd be most grateful

Emski76 · 09/09/2011 19:16

Hey all
Am exhausted after a busy day, dh hone. First place he went after greeting us all was the bloody computer! How many more times can I warn him about leaving the boys to go on the computer? Even Ben calls it the blooming computer!

Choc, Noah sits with me and my friend at soft play while the older boys run around like hooligans. I've put him in the toddler bit before and he does like a roll around and playing with the balls but he's a bit young. R might like it as she's crawling so can explore by herself.

Enjoy the rest of your anniversary Wiggles!

Naughty, naughty speeders. I daren't drive too fast as I'm such a terrible driver anyway!

Reastie, did you feel ok leaving Alice with mil this morning?

Ledkr, we must arrange a meet up in Cheltenham soon then? Any others up for it??

Ponyo, I've been meaning to pop into work to confirm my hours of work when I go back but think I'm in denial! I'll only be adjusting my hours by half hour a day and will still work three days a week.

Chilling now watching tv and trying not to eat anymore food!

ILovePonyo · 09/09/2011 19:21

choco yep even if dp gets dd up or puts the dummy in I'm still awake, esp if she's properly crying. Annoying because he seems to be able to sleep through her crying pretty well!

wiggles glad your date went well Grin I still havn't seen first HP film so will be a while before I see this last one! Oh, and my birthday has kicked off our birthday season, in the next 3 months its dp's, my mums, sisters, dads, mils, and a couple of friends Shock oh and xmas as well, how could I forget Hmm

reastie have replied on your thread but nowt useful sorry. This weekend we are registering dd at nursery Shock and spending my b'day cash on nice things for me, am thinking Boots for soap and glory treats.

dd just cried when we tried to give her some puree but had quite a lot of her bottle, do any other babies get almost frustrated when they're hungry so can't quite handle having proper food? Poor thing had proper tears and everything :(

Emski76 · 09/09/2011 19:22

Reastie, have answered your thread xx

ILovePonyo · 09/09/2011 19:25

emski I meant to say, work have said my reduced hours are fine, however it was the manager that said it not HR so hope they aren't funny about it Confused
However I'll have to work mon, tues, wed NOT tues, wed, thur as planned originally as team meeting is on mond. I think this will be ok, I think I'll still have to pay for nursery on mondays though even though they are closed?

Does anyone know if nurseries are open bank hols? (I can check tomo but am impatient Grin)

wigglesrock · 09/09/2011 19:58

Ponyo I think they do close bank holidays and some have a midterm break. I only ever used a nursery with Sofia and it was a Surestart one, we didn't pay for any day they were closed ie Christmas, training days, bank holiday, we just paid for her hours there and obviously if we took her out on a day she was supposed to be there. I love Soap and Glory.

I've always had to feed mine just before they realise they're hungry Grin Even now if Sofia and Olivia get too tired they will not eat their dinner.

Emski its our anniversary on Monday, but we are having a weekend of celebrations Grin Anna has a few hospital appts on Monday (final hip/pelvis check) so we are doing it tonight Wink

jane hope photographer meeting goes well, I love other peoples weddings especially the photos.

Have to admit it, gave A some of the beef, sweet potato, apple casserole that I made, she bloody loved it Shock

reastie will nosy at your thread

ledkr · 09/09/2011 21:36

Ah wiggles lovely anniversary plans.

40Weeks · 10/09/2011 00:19

Hello ladies

Never seem to have time to post so am just back from a night out with my bezzie and thought, before I go to bed I must pop in and say hi. Obv I had to find you first! I couldn't possibly catch up on all the 9 pages but hope you are all well and feeding is going well. Mikey eats anything and cried when it's finished. My eldest started school this week and loves it although is very tired afterwards, and a touch ofthe dramatic teenager has befallen him. Whomelse had started school, wiggles was it Olivia? Congrats on the anniversary.

Love the ledkr tvr story, he must have been pepping all day long!

Jane how was your hen do, and the photographer meeting? How many weeks to go, it's Nov isn't it?

ponyo with nursery I am pretty sure you do have to pay for bank hold but then I suppose you are also getting paid not to work so balances out but I do remember my friend saying after her second baby that she wouldn't do Monday's again for that very reason. Enjoy the birthday spend up! You will smell delish.

Did you get your run choc?

Hope everyone else is well, I am off to bed, sleep tight little bubbas give mummies a rest, it's the weekend don't you know

janedoe25 · 10/09/2011 10:16

Very quiet in here today!

10 weeks until I am Mrs B, so exciting!

Shock at ledkr the car thief!

Df is working like a dog this month, I will hardly see him Sad but we have to pay for this wedding somehow.
Photographer is photographer lady, can't wait to meet her she was so nice. Grin

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
