emski I agree with tad I'm still sterilising milk bottles but don't worry too much and sometimes just throw some boiling water at them if I need one in a hurry. A dishwasher should get hot enough to sterilise them anyway and tbh R puts everything she can find in her mouth it hardly seems worth it! Oh, and at my mums we just pop the bottle in a Tupperware box and pop some water in tub then zap in microwave for five mins.

Boo to the poorly boys tad I find temps so scary. Hope they both cool and settle.

V jealous of the needto and reastie meet up. I think ponyo and ledkr are my closest MNetters on this thread and they're miles away!

ledkr Well done you on charity shop bargains. I should have a crack myself. I'm alway taking stuff but never think to buy! Oh, and I'm still on the warm side most of the time, I've put it down to my extra pounds though.

wiggles hope you're not too badgery!

Right. Better finish drying hair - just been for a run and need to make dinner while DP puts Romilly to bed. The big news here is she is now Properly crawling. Forwards. Backwards. Side to side. Need
To buy some stair gates!

Thanx for advice re sterilising, and thanx for link Need to.

Deb, don't worry about Imy, ignore it and remind her she needs to go in the potty/toilet. Ben started using the toilet over a year ago and sometimes still has accidents now if he's busy or too preoccupied!

Borg, our kind of routine is
6/6.30am- wake up
7/7.30am - Weetabix with fruit, small bottle of milk
8.30am - sleep, anything from half hour to hour and a half
10/10.30am - 180ml milk, rarely drinks it all, if still hungry I offer carrot stick or breadstick
12noon - lunch, usually mashed food, breadstick, carrot stick after
12.30/1.30pm - sleep, anything from half hour to hour and a half
2/2.30pm - 180ml bottle, as this morning
4.30/5pm - tea, sandwich and yogurt, sometimes mashed food
6pm - naked/nappy time
6.15pm -bathtime with Ben
6.30/7.00pm - 210ml hungry milk, sometimes drinks all, not often. Bed.

Ooh it is very interesting reading all these routines, here's mine Borg -

6.30/7am - up and bottle about 5oz or 6oz
8am - breakfast half a weetabix or porridge jar
9/9.15am - nap for 30mins
10am - bottle between 2oz and 4oz
Then get out for a walk!
12.30 - lunch some sort of puree or toast, yogurt or fruit puree
Nap for 30 mins somewhere around here (usually when out in pram)
1.30/2pm - bottle between 2oz and 4oz
4pm - bottle about 4/5oz
Another half hour nap here ish
5.30 - tea, puree and a rusk/fruit puree
Go out for another walk if whingy Grin
6.30 - bath time
7pm - bottle and bed

Plus the odd dream feed about 10pm if she doesn't have much of her last bottle.

Reading that makes it sound v organised but trust me it isn't. Can you tell I've had to take her out 3 times for walks today b'cos she was being annoying Grin Think she misses her dad, he's been about for 6 weeks and now its just boring old me...

wigs get a piccy of the new 'do' up then Grin very cute about O stroking it.

I've finally seen who this Idris bloke is (there was a pic on the daily mail celeb section oh the shame) you're all welcome to him, not my type :)

ledkr for what its worth I'm more sweaty now, I put it down to the fact that I'm fatter, sure I didn't sweat this much when I was skinny.

Pleased meet up when well reastie and Needto! Do you live near each other then?

ponyo I have to admit Im with you on the Idris thing Hmm

I am now out of the dress - DH had to pull the zipper bit off completely to free me of it Confused . I've only worn it a handful of times too, and it wasn't tight either Hmm

ponyo I drove to chez needto. It was about an hour and a half but it would have been quicker if i didn't get hopelessly lost

This routine thing is really interesting. I'll add our (v approximate) routine
7am - big bf then get alice up and changed
7:30 - play on mat etc
8:00 - alice breakfast (baby cereal with fruit)
8:15 - back into my bed and bf her to sleep Confused . she'll sleep for maybe half an hour but only in my bed Shock
9:00 - wake up and sit her in bathroom so I can get a shower
9:30 - play time
10:30 - bf
10:45 - play time
11:30 - walk her to sleep (half hour nap)
12:15 - lunch for alice followed by bf
13:45 - play time
3:00 - big bf, usually she falls asleep on me at the end and has a nap, sometimes of an hour (but only on me)
4:30 - put her in high chair in kitchen and attempt to entertain her with my bad singing whilst trying to clear kitchen and make tea
5 - dump her on mat in bathroom with dh while he has a shower so I can crack on with dinner
5:30 - alice dinner (tomato carrot stick thing, veg puree and then fruit puree and yoghurt) followed by bf
6:00 - naked time
6:15 - bath
6:30 - massage
6:45 - bf
7:00 - sleep in my bed until....
9:30 - bf dream feed
10:00 - transport to cot and keep fingers crossed for the night

I think I seem to give alice alot more milk than everyone else Confused

Hi ladies,

We've been a diseased house here, so all has been a little stressful. C's D&V was improving Monday but then me and DH got it, my Mum had C yesterday but now she has it, me & DH are better, MIL is getting it (I think). So it's all a bit manic and the week has mainly revolved around finding appropriate non-sick person to look after C. I even had yesterday off work sick (never happens) but still had to send her to my Mum's as I couldn't leave the bathroom (sorry if TMI).

Feel totally fine now, C is on the mend (it's been ages though, about 10 days Shock). She's slowly getting back to the right amount of milk but I' being v cautious re solids, I feel like I'm starting weaning all over again, trying the things least likely to cause her issues. I think I'll do this until we get through Friday (nursery hopefully) and then go a bit more abundance declared on more normal food over the weekend.

C finally has her first tooth! It's been a long time coming but it is here. She's sitting pretty well (would still surround with millions of cushions a la reastie but prefers pulling up onto her feet, then the cheeky blighter tries to let go with one hand but usually ends up falling body straight in timber style, stoopid. No actual crawling here yet either - but she kind of makes efforts to get places - rolls, shuffles, wriggles etc. but not properly mobile.

I'm such a slack mner that I'm too far behind reply to everyone so a random selection:

Ledkr yes same problem with sweatiness and general temperature randomness.

reastie did you ever manage to get out of the dress? Sorry but really did lol (using that as everyone on AIBU was moaning about it earlier so thought I'd rebel, plus I really did actually laugh out loud, sorry reastie) at being stuck in the dress.

NeedTo what was it like meeting an almost stranger who was dressed a little bit...you know...[whispers] oddly?

wiggles I'm vicariously excited for your haircut, as I am desparate for one myself but can't get one as DH is working Saturdays at the mo so I am stranded with 'new mum chaotic seemingly doesn't care' hair.

Emski I'm still sterilising but I don't think it's as important now. I don't sterilise spoons etc. and if I was stuck, I would do bottles in hot soapy water and drop teats into a cup of boiling water (which is all I do with dummies and C's medication syringes). I wouldn't be bothering buying a new one at this stage.

Anyway, that's about it for now. Hopefully the plague will soon be lifted from our house and we will all be back to normal.

D

Hi tad could have been worse, they could have been on the netmums site! Grin

Sorry folks but I have nothing to add to the routine posts.

I came across a thread in bereavement about a woman who also lost her little baby girl, god it is so heart breaking to think that people are going through the same horrors as I did. It has brought back a load of horrid memories about the early days after loosing Zoe, I really don't know how I managed to get myself through them.

Glad to know im not the only sweater,i have spent the day in a thin cotton top,me and mny friend were in hysterics today when looking at jackets as i kept saying im too hot for a jacket haha.
Am defo getting a thyroid test too cos my mum and sis have it so have one often.

Found you!! (it wasn't that hard, right at the top of the post-natal clubs...)
How interesting to read all your routines, I just read a book (no cry naptime solutions or something like that) and had been stressing terribly because it said that half an hour naps wasn't good enough... P only sleeps for 30 min at a time if on his own, with me he can sleep for 4 hours. But have given up stressing, surely 30 min are ok, as lots of your babies do that too.
hubbard wow, you better get down there every sunday like agood girl! for some reason I cannot begin to think about those things yet, round here there are no really good secondary schools and several people have asked if we are thinking of moving yet...!!!Shock

They don't have anything to do with the school here anyway, all down to Education Board. We are really lucky - inundated with good primary and grammar schools.

Will try a bit of tweakaging tomorrow. reastie and tad I'm with you on the frequent BF, although they do seem to be quicker and I think sometimes he is just pretending Hmm
delia glad the vomorrhea has settled, poor you lot. Nate is another one who doesn't seem to understand that he needs to actually hold on to something when he is standing.
hubbard your vicar sounds a bit keen, I remember frantic church-going before our wedding. I do actually go 1-2 times a month anyway for the free creche and tea but DH and I always had to make sure we were seen each time.

Hi ladies

Jane sorry to hear you've kinda had to revisit your traumatic time & experience...just remember that you did get through it, somehow. You are an absolute tower of strength xxx

ledkr your routine made me laugh!

Borg here's ours...

6.30 am..awake & bottle (sometimes only half!)
7am downstairs to kitchen..play in highchair
7.30 b'fast-w'bix/ready break/fruit puree with baby cereal
8.30am..washed & dressed, rest of bottle
9am nap for 1-1.5 hrs
10.30 playtime
11.30 lunch- meat & veg puree & fruit puree plus water (rarely takes the water!)
12.30 bottle then nap for 1-2 hrs
2pm out & about...
4pm...nap for 40 mins
5pm dinner-veg puree & from age drais & water
6.30pm bath, bed & sleep
10.30pm dream feed...barely 3 oz (thinking of dropping this).

If I'm at the gym, it's usually in the morning so I usually wake him so that his routine fits in with a 9.30-10.30 nap time (when he's in the creche) tho he doesn't always sleep when he's in there...too much distraction & then makes me out to be a fool when I say he's due a nap & then doesnae have it Grin

reastie & need to glad to hear te meetup went well & people are normal on this thread Grin
